Easiest way to root and install ICS? - LG Optimus 2x

Hello all,
I;m new to this whole rooting and ROM community (iphone 4 user). I'm wondering if there were any easy way to root the Optimus X2 (from WIND) then install ICS? Can anyone direct me to the two guides that does this specifically? Also, I'm on a MAC would any of this work on a mac?
Thank you.

Hi!
Your in the wrong section mate. You've got a LG Optimus 2X Speed from WIND, which makes it a LG G2X instead of a O2X. There are some hardware differences between these phones, therefore the roms and kernels over here won't work on your phone. My advice to you is to ask around in the LG G2X section.

Yes your phone is P999 = G2X O2X is P990

Lg Optimus 2x from Wind, rooted & Unlocked

Hi,
I have got this LG optimus 2x from Wind, unlocked, and rooted. The thing is that I am still using 2.2, and for the longest time I have been waiting for an update, yet nothing seems to appear. I was looking around and I found this guide:
http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-flash-lg-optimus-2x-to-android-2-3-4-gingerbread.html
To my knowledge it seems pretty legit, but the links are old, and I can no longer get the files I need to perform the upgrade. Do you guys advice me to perform such an upgrade, or should I go for custom ROMs (not a big fan)?
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Try to search a live link in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041 or google it...
You can flash older version (V10) with smartflash, then use lg update tool to update it to the newest.
You can try this rom, too, it is the newest stock with minor changes http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041 and easily flashable through cwm.

You are on the wrong forum. LG Optimus 2X is LGP990 but the one from Wind is LGP999 (a.k.a. G2X) . Head over to the T Mobile LG G2X Forum

[Q] Stable Rom for the 2x?

tired of the leggy stock 2.3.4 rom. Want to use ICS

Also, for this

I have to flash a service pack, but how to flash a service pack?
Thanks guys

According to the above post, the Canadian O2X is called P999 (G2X). Flashing a P990 ROM will likely cause a brick to your device.

That's not necessarily correct... Canadian O2X may very well be P990hn (you can still get it today from Fido), which works just fine with any P990 ROM. P999 is another model for AWS frequencies used by Wind in Canada.

I am not sure what you mean by "not supported"... True, V30 (either A or B) has not been officially released for Canada (or North America, for that matter), but both versions actually work in Canada. V30B (unlike V30A) doesn't have a Canadian English language option, but US English is still there. I am currently running a clean stock V30B, and I am happy with it. However, I would refrain from recommending a particular ROM, as it's mostly a personal choice...

[Q] Will LG G2 Rom work on the Lg G FLEX?? SAME SPECS??

Hello guys can i flash a lg g2 rom on the Lg g flex.
they got nearly the same hardwares,
i am asking because i want cyanogen mod 12 (android 5.0.2) on my Lg g flex but no one has actually made a rom for it.
if i cant flash, can you tell me how to port them, sorry i know it may be a noob question but i seriously need help.
also i heard that you can only port cyanogen roms, but how is that possible if the lg g flex doesnt even have one.
please make everything clear for me
thank you
You cant flash G2 rom. I dont think it will brick your phone because you wont be able to flash it.

Development help for LG Flex L23

Hi guys:
From first, Sorry if this thread is not correctly here, I have tried to open it on LG Flex Android Development but it says I have not permissions for open a thread there, just move it if must be on other section.
So, I wisht to get any stock or Custom ROM for LG L23 au (LG Flex Japanease version, au company). I have bought it and stock firmware is really bad. au have not updated the stock android and we are stuck on Android 4.2.2 on a phone with really high specifications. Really is not fair from au.
Please, I pray you all XDA people to make a ROM for this phone, there aren't any stock or custom ROM for this version of LG Flex.
I know this is one of my firsts posts but really is not because I got another account and I lost that email, I got oneplus and it was stolen, then I deleted that email too, then I bought this phone but there aren't any development.
Me and lot of people will thanks your colaboration
Edit:
Here is an opensource from LG L23 if that can help you,
http://opensource.lge.com/osSch/list...L&search=lgl23
I need it too!
My dumb brother just bought it for me without asking me.... I know it sucks but that's what I have to live with everyday.... And I know it got great hardware but the software doesnt do it justice...
So I plea any rom developer out there plz plz plz make some great roms for this.

LG L90 & LG G2 Mini - Doubt

When looking at both devices, I see that they are identical, or at least almost in relation to this, which would imply trying to install a ROM made for the L90 in G2m? is there a risk of killing the device?
I read that Global WCDMA Variant not the LTE use the same CPU as the lg l90. It still may not work..just keep your old firmware ready.
