is there an app or some sort of program where it'll allow me to convert some of my fav wallpapers which are desktop size fit for the GT7.7?
This size should be fine for the Tab. When selecting a wallpaper from Gallery the wallpaper is cropped and resized. The vertical resolution in Portrait mode is higher than most desktops' anyway.

the screen for the N1 isn't squared but when selecting a picture as wallpaper...you can't select the whole wallpaper, only a square ratio of it.
anyway to select the whole wallpaper to make it look like in the gallery?
The wallpaper on a Nexus is 960x800. A LOT wider than the screen width of 400. Because the wallpaper shifts as you scroll from screen to screen.
So you need to get wallpaper in 960x800 size. (width x height)

i have the option to not disable wallpaper scrolling (Launcher Pro) and i want the wallpaper to be 480x800. how can i do this?

I haven't test it, but I think if the wallpaper if under 960x800, then it should let you select all of it, if not, then sorry, I don't know.
I know that the resolution of SGT is 1200x1024
but I still found that images in this size is still a bit blur after being set as wallpaper
I definitely sure that I've crop the whole image while I set it as wallpaper

I just still know it from the Nook Color,
there the resolution was 1280*1024,
and if I used Wallpaper Set and Save there was no blur.
The gallery has that issue, don't use the gallery to set the wallpaper. Grab QuicPic from the market, it's free, fast, awesome and sets wallpapers without any issue

If i try to choose a picture from my gallery as wallpaper , it gets cropped.
How to stop images from being cropped and make the original size image as wallpaper.
The ideal wallpaper size for our phone is 640*480px. If you have a 1000px+ wallpaper, Android has no choice but to downsize it first and then crop it.
You can do it manually with an image editing program such as GIMP (free) or Photoshop. Downsize the wallpaper to the ideal size maintaining the ratio.

Does anyone know the correct size an image should be for the home screen or lockscreen? I have attempted to download some hd wallpapers from online but when I go to set as my home screen it makes crop the image. I was hoping to know what size to edit the image so I would have to crop it just display it as my home screen or lockscreen. Thanks.

The height of then screen is 2560. The width is 1440. This is fine if you use a launcher that doesn't scroll home screen wallpapers or doesn't go into landscape mode. However if your launcher does do either of those things, you'll find you'll be displaying the image at a lower resolution to accommodate that.
Personally I get all my wallpapers from https://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/downloads/date/wide_16:9
...in 16:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 5120x2880. This gives me the ability to accommodate landscape mode and scrolling home screen wallpapers without having to lose any image quality
