[Q] Music player query. - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
Wondered if you could help in suggesting a good music player besides the standard MIUI one, (I'm on an MIUI rom), that plays almost everything especially music which has been ripped of YouTube into a MP3 format via an unnamed YouTube rip app. MIUI music player thinks they are all videos but on other roms with galaxy s standard music player recognizes them as music so makes it much easier to play them all.

Try doubletwist or poweramp, google play music should work too.

I like player pro.. mostly because of its feature of selecting the music folders.. only files in the folders you have selected will be shown in the music library

[Question] Equalizer for music player

Is there an Equalizer available for the music player on the magic?
Have not been able to find one..
None?????
Nope there isn't one by default.
You can probably get one thrown in with an alternative music player, tho I don't know their names, perhaps have a look?
Anyways the player on the magic is already pretty good.
I've tried the default media player, htc media player (hero rom or installed manually) and mixZing all DONT have it. Shame because the last two are damn good media players in other respects.

Video Player?

Do we have a video player for android? Its disappointing that there is not ONE decent video player for the Android.
theres a default video player with the phone framework. if you have astro file explorer or similar, you find your video on your sdcard and it will play great in a default player. theres also meridian player. if you update to JacHeroski the HTC video player in that ROM is awesome!
with LukLuk you can stream movies online, i think it will play videos off your sdcard too. I havent tried playing anything off the sdcard yet though...
Cinema has a great interface, Meridian works well also (though one of the last updates it messed with my stock music player when I set it not to be the default for the headset buttons, and it's idea of random music playback is a joke - it makes a single shot randomly sorted playlist - instead of randomly selecting upon skipping tracks).. So, I am sticking with Cinema now.

Do u have a favourite music player? ?

VLC would be great. then i could do loads of hd streaming from my pc to my phone
everyone needs a dream
AOSP Music.apk
I like the "vanilla" Android music player (the one from the Android Open Source Project). It's simple and fast. Here's a market link: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jrtstudio.music
Side note: make sure you're using a kernel with Voodoo Sound drivers included, your music will sound a lot better regardless of the music player app you use.
Honeycomb music player is not available for all regions.
i find its interface nice but it dont have 5.1 surround and equalizer
Two on test and like both .
Player Pro trial & MixZing basic both on the market .

PlayerPro is great... but I stick with Samsung's stock player - it's excellent... it's the only player that allows you to switch between Bluetooth and Phone outputs... (since those are device specific)
No player is able to handle the Album Artist tag properly...

Perception music player

I've had Perception 10.1 on my phone for quite a while now, and overall I like it (that's why its been on my phone for months and months now). But yesterday I got some voicemails that I downloaded from Gmail and they were saved as mp3 format files. The built in music player refuses to play them. It just gives me the message that the music player doesnt support that file format. I thought this was completely strange. So I put a couple of music mp3's on the sd card, and the built in music player wont play those either. Does anybody have a solution to this? What music player wouldnt play mp3's, thats crazy?? I know for a fact that the music player that was in an earlier version of Cog that I was running played music mp3's.
I'm thinking the best solution would be to get a different stock music player apk and then use adb to push it to the phone?

[Q] OGG music file support??

I see that the NOTE uses ogg files for the camera sounds, but the stock music player and winamp says the phone doesn't play them.
Glad that they will play FLAC but why no OGG? If someone can confirm a player that works, perferably free or not £3+ I'll be happy.
I can't get my head around why they won't play!
Thanks in Advance ppl!
Not sure about other ROM versions, but on my LQ2 the stock music player handles ogg files without problems
