[Dev] CM9 Translations - Afrikaans - Galaxy Tab 10.1v Android Development

Hi Guys,
As you may know Afrikaans has been included in ICS, So I converted CM9 English text to Afrikaans. I used Google translate to do most of the translation and modded some of it to "sound" better. So I would like some feedback, on my translations.
I made a new build of CM9 containing this translations, I have not submitted to CM9 for review, I would like some feedback first. I currently have a build for the P7100, device.
I can build for the P7500 as well, plus the SGS2. Let me know in this post if you want builds for these devices as well.
Let me know in this post if you are interested to test.
Here is the link for p3: http://www.ismaakit.com/rom/ics/rom/update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-p3-UNOFFICIAL-signed.zip
Here is the link for p4: http://www.ismaakit.com/rom/ics/rom/p4/update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-p4-UNOFFICIAL-signed.zip

I could give it a spin...
My Afrikaans are moerse good pappie!

[ROM] CyanogenMod experimental builds

Highly experimental stuff:
Release candidates and nightly builds available via Rom-Manager.
Description:
CyanogenMod has nightly builds for Legend since Sept. 30 2010 as it's become an officially supported device. I will provide experimental builds (for public beta testing) here from time to time. No files available for the moment.
Please adhere to a few rules when discussing builds in here.
Read and search before you post.
Do not request help. This is the development board.
Requests for builds, features, fixes or apps to include will be ignored.
Do not report broken or not installable apps from the Market (we can't fix them).
Do not expect bugs to be fixed.
Credits:
Thanks go out to the whole CM team for their great work!
Beer / Coffee:
Additional stuff:
Some people experience GPS issues. To help us debug, flash that verbose module and get a full log via adb:
gps-test.zip (gps.legend.so)
EDIT.
Got it.
differences beetween azure and dark azure?
screenshots will be appreciated
thanks for your work
It will be same as Azure 1.0 , but with a Dark Theme , and some bug fixes.
This, Ali Ba, is a really neat idea.

"Nightly builds are daily compiled builds from the source, therefore have the latest features & tweaks, but will are mostly likely to break due being fresh, not fully tested code. "
Great idea, but dangerous! Like, I almost choked on my coffee while starting to laugh over the comments in this thread!!
<irony>But finally we can have a black themed ROM ! * </irony> lol This thread made my day, seriously!
Edit: Don't want to spam the thread with useless comments, sorry bout that, but this was too hilarious!!
Good start.
No, but seriously, dont let the kids make you nervous.
Carry on with the good work.
Poor Ali Ba, wrestling with incompetent fools. But we were all there. I'm still there. But at least I understood what he mean by nightly builds I suppose...
Thanks, ali ba. Would you consider automating the builds, or do the patches you apply to CM for Legend support break frequently?
I've always been curious of why you haven't submitted your patches upstream to CM, but that's for another discussion.
Ah, nightly builds I love em!
I work in a game studio, nightly builds cause me nothing but pain as an animator ;D

Nope, no automated builds planned. Thus inverted commas in "nightly" builds.

I submitted all that were useful enough and not breaking anything else.
The most critical one being the lights patch because CM code is still written as if every device had a trackball RGB light. Will most likely never submit that one.

[Testers needed][GWK74][Stock AOSP][2.3.7]

Hi everybody,
I just compiled a stock AOSP 2.3.7 ROM from aosp sources as one of the team members got recently a P990 and I decided to do some stuff for this device although I don't own one. This is where you can help as I can't test myself.
I have attached the build.prop already for those who are interested in having a look into it.
The ROM is based on GWK74 Android 2.3.7 and has yet no modifications added compared to the stock AOSP project. You can participate and share your ideas by means: leave / stay with launcher2 / gallery3d / stock camera+browser-app or replace those with better alternatives. I want to make this ROM barebone-like to provide you a highly customizable ROM. As like you do with stock CyanogenMod ROMs you will have to add the CM-GAPPS on your own via CWM. I won't include them into the ROM so you could even modify the gapps-package and adjust it to your needs.
As I am actually not familar with the available kernels and how they perform on P990 I will include the built-in cm-kernel.
People wanna help with testing this please leave a message on this topic (no PMs plz). The first download links should appear this evening / tonight (UTC+1) as I am going to do a final fresh compile now. Those leaving a message will receive the link by PM. Once I receive positive feedback I will make it public.
The sources I used:
CM-github (modified LGE P990 + star-common device tree for AOSP)
Android Open Source Project

Hello,
It's a good start. I can't install it via CWM 5.0.2.7. I will try via CWM 5.0.2.0.
ok thx for providing feedback. Might require some fix to the updater-binary or updater-script. Lemme check this...
Same here, status 0
No idea what that means though
Error status 0 is caused by a wrong updater-binary. My fault! Misplaced some files while packaging it. I have re-uploaded the ROM now again. This time I used CM7 META-INF but added my own updater-script. To assure other issues the zip is unsigned now. So you will have to disable "signature checks" in CWM, too. Don't forget to wipe data/cache partitions in CWM, too.
Can I test this rom?
Count on me!
It's not modified like CM, just pure Android 2.3.7? Hmm I think It's a good idea, if you will be able to fix CM's bug (of course if there are here) it will be maybe one of the best rom. You can count on me too though.
Free to test if you need more testers for feed back? ;-p
Waiting eagerly for build, wanna give a shot

[KANG] CM7.2 w/ FP by ghost_og

*Update 3/6/12*: I probably should have done this awhile ago, but I just wanted to clarify that this was a one-off release. It will not be updated since Nightlies/Weeklies are up and running again. In fact, they will have everything this ROM has plus more!
In trying to build CM7 (w/ FP) from source, acerbix, crnkoj, and I unwittingly built CM7.2 . You can follow along with our adventures here. We found that using the FP branches of the Atrix-Dev-Team's github repos with the new upstream CyanogenMod changes no longer produced a fully working FP build. After merging and copying the necessary code in frameworks/base from the ADT's repo on top of the newer CM7 stuff, it gave us a working 7.2 build.
I thought others may want to try out an updated CM7. This was my first attempt at compiling from source, so there may be bugs. A few changes I've noticed:
- "Holo" lockscreen
- T9 dialer
- Corrected calendar lockscreen widget
- More detailed battery stats (I think).
There are more if you feel like looking through the CM commits since the last official weekly/nightly release.
I'm not a developer. I will not be offering any kind of support beyond the possible update when worthwhile upstream changes are made. However, feel free to ask and answer questions here. I'm sure the other community members will be willing to help one another out.
Please keep in mind that this is a kang and in no way related to the official CM7 build, so please do not use those threads to post issues if you decide to try this.

I think all of the fingerprint changes have been committed today, so you should get them if you pull the source to make your own build. No more splicing files necessary!
EDIT: Oops, I was wrong. Fingerprint branch was updated, but still need to merge those files into the base CM build.
the T9 dialer is great. Looking forward to more updates as more changes are comitted. Good work.

Yeah, those two branches were unrebased and unmaintained for quite a bit I have cleaned up the FP code a bit these days and rebased them, so you can now build from them too.
PS: We'll probably release a new weekly soon, with another long term, supported release (ba2tf-style) following after if no obvious regressions appear.

Hi mateorod,
1st of all, thank You for your great support in the xda forums! AND for your PDroid app!!!
(BTW, I've sent a review of your product to a local radio station in berlin, gemany - they discussed safety-issues of Android device/software in a technical report.)
PDROID patcher 1.32 failed for this...
PDROID patcher 1.31/Win7 did the job.

bitstra
P.S. I'm looking for a solution to implement the patches in a Custom ICS ROM 'VegaCream' for Advent-Vega tablets and clones. It has a squashfs r/o system-file in the CWM-zip because of small RAMspace, that I can unsquash/resquash on PC side...
Any ideas?
Thanx
Depends how "custom" it is, you know?
If it is mostly based off of CM9, AOKP or AOSP with tweaks and mods, then you can for sure do a build patch. You might even have a chance with the ICS auto-patcher, depending on the degree of derivation from source.
The build patches are on post 1 and the auto-patcher is post 4
I see you have Win 7, but since you're dealing with squashfs, do you have cygwin or something? I don't know if windows handles squashfs, but the ICS auto-patcher is just Linux right now. And of course, to patch anything on a PC, let alone build, you'll need Linux as well.
The auto-patcher's Gingerbread patches were actually made from Mirage, so if you want 1.3.2, you could use this patcher for sure.
Let me know how it goes, would you?

Just an FYI, I don't have what you'd really call a product. I work somewhat extensively with a bunch of other people's software, making it available to devices or OS's they aren't otherwise. That's really it.
Svyat is PDroid's dev, me and pastime1971 just ported it to ICS and made the patcher.
Hi,
thanx for the response.
The squashfs thing I will work out on a mac - squashfs tools are working under mac osx...
Will have a look for the possibilities today evening.
The Berlin radio station RBB 88.8 will publish a small review about Pdroid and patcher on coming saturday. They/we have researched all informations about svyat's app and yours patches. If I get a handout of the RBB publisher's article, I will post it here.

IMEI is one of the most important things of a smartphone. That’s why every time you flash a custom ROM, the developer strongly suggests you to make a backup of your IMEI partition because without that, the Galaxy Note 4 loses its main function which is making phone calls.

The noise fix by not-i will not work on aosp roms because aosp uses mixer_paths.xml whereas stock rom uses tinyucm.conf wich has to be recoded into mixer_paths.xml. So the noise fix WILL NOT WORK ON AOSP. I hope everybody understands this.
Perfect ROM aside from the broken Fingerprint, but that's no big issue for me.
What bothers me is the low mic recording sound.
Even if I use a 3.5mm mic it still sounds too low.. Any idea of solving this ?
need to up the volume in mixer_paths.xml and or dual mic is disabled at the moment.
one question that it's probably been discussed though. Is there any possibility in porting the touchwiz camera apk to cm13. I mean, why is it possible to port it in MIUI 7 and not in CM 13. It's probably something with the software but I really wish I could have JUST the Samsung camera in cm13 cause the quality of the cm13 barely resembles the quality of the Samsung camera. It's like night and day difference. Aside from this, happy new year ppl Enjoy it to the fullest!!!
Changelog for the new build ?
also, no idea what to increase in the mixer_path

MIUI v7 for note4 is based on touchwiz, if it were based on cyanogenmod it wouldn't have Sammy cam.
miui uses stock base rom so the camera can use the tw framework. Aosp can't use TW framework that is why camera can not be ported.
