Ace S5830i custom roms

I just found that the galaxy young and ace 5830i have same hardware.
i successfully installed galaxy y's custom rom in s5830i but there is the resoulution problem if anyone can try fixing that then we can have unlimited roms for the new s5830i

What resolution problem ?

SGY : 240 x 320
SGAi : 320 x 480
so there will be problem with it

So What do you think, will there be roms for s5830i soon?

If I am not wrong, just copying over the boot.img and libs from galaxy Y custom ROM to ace's custom rom's will make 'em work on S5830i

Might wanna replace the /bin and /xbin files too
Defy-ing all limits.

I changed the screen density from 120 to 160 n it worked for me ..resolution was extremely good

Plzzz do something and release roms fast...

This is S5830 Forums not S5830i they're different and this forums is only for SGA.

The box is same only a minor change due to which the model is changed to s5830i

resolution isn't a problem
u can fix the resolution using root explorer and i can tell you how but even when you fix the resolution there are so many bugs ..... camera , motion, dialer......... i tried all the roms of the galaxy y and they all work but with so many bugs , if someone can make a modded rom for the galaxy ace i wich has no bugs

I Have successfully installed CREEDSix ROM Based on CREED ROM... I have also fixed the resolution problem by using LCD Resolution Changer App.... Now I am facing following bugs:
Accelerometer not working
Proximity sensor not working
camera not working
Cant get the play store stuck on old market
Many apps force close such as juice defender
Boot screen is displayed in the center only and not in the whole screen
Contacts automatically deleted after every boot

Yeah I tried to flash a SGY ROM and faced the same problems. Couldnt get it fixed so I flashed the original frimware via odin 1.85.

Samsung T-499 (T-Mobile Dart)

The T-mobile Dart is a re-branded version of the Samsung Galaxy Mini, which has a working root with superoneclick, and clockworkmod, but the community hasnt offered very much for this phone when it comes to custom ROMs. the galaxy mini roms are not cross compatible but i feel like the could be ported over without to much work put into the mix. I wanted to start this thread to see if i could bring together some of our Dart users to try and create our own little category of roms for this phone. As of right now i know there is a semi-stable version of CM 7.1 for the dart with only a few issues (located here) but thats about it. my hope is that the ICS that is being ported to the mini could be adapted to our dart.
just for reference to install CWM you can visit this page for information on how to do that.
lets make this phone worth its dollar!

i have tested porting my rom from mini to dart but after install bootloop if any one want to partici[ate i am ok i dont have dart phone only galaxi mimi i want help our dart user if any one have knew's add it here

I went to system/app and noticed alot of apps with .odex
My question: Should I reflash with a Deodexed Rom that I found? (Deodexed_update-cm-7.2.0-RC0-dart-KANG-signed_Signed.zip) Would this make the Dart run better?
If I flash this deodexed rom, would I have to do the whole wipe data/cache devlik cache?

I too have q spare dart I can tinker aroung with just let me know where to start and I'll help out as much as possible

Wow.. Dart is coming back on the scene..
I m having it in a drawer somewhere and as my HTC Aria begins to have random reboots (linked to the heating I guess) I am thinking in a swap.. either if it is not the same kind of device, it may be a good thing to see ICS there.
Fyi I also have a Gtab 10.1 and a Gnote S.. but this is a side note.
While I have some java skills, and know a bit around Android, I could help on that, but I have no ROM development knowledge. If someone wants to involve me, let me know !

If it's the deodexed version that someone here on XDA (sorry, can't remember who ) deodexed DashBlack's CM7 rom for me, I flashed and it wouldn't boot. By the filename, it looks like that's the one it is.
Yes, you would want to data/cache wipe, wipe dalvik, and then flash, then another data wipe for good measure. But I wouldn't bother, as I already tried all that and it wouldn't get past the small Samsung logo.
DB's CM7 kang is the best thing out for the Dart as of now, but being odex'ed is the only thing about it that bugs me. It drives me nuts that I have my Dart running a really awesome CM7 rom, but can't do all the really cool stuff like transparent status bar or status bar layout mods.
Still, it beats running stock Froyo with TouchWiz any day

Waiting for CM9 from DashBlack now. Hope he will be back soon...

I would like to flash and upgrade my sgh-t499 but all the links to do so are leading to madteam's website. I have no problem with that except that it won't let me register, and hence won't let me see the links to get the recoveries needed, roms needed to upgrade my phone. A little help would be appreciated.

I have been looking around for the files I need for the t499 but I always end up on old posts with broken links.
Could anyone post me the links for CWM 5.0.2.8 (i think its the latest for dart t499)
I also couldn't get the Odin and other files I need to flash CWM.
For rooted SuperOneClick is much easier to find and download.

No! But custom ROMs are always there for you. Maclaw's CM9 is based on original ICS.

It can be. But Samsung won't provide it. Maclaw had made a CM9(ICS) build which works perfectly 95% but flashing it will void your warranty!

Go to the Dev section, look for [ICS] tags in the threads.
Currently the camera does not work on any ics builds, this may be fixed in the future. If you do decide to flash make sure you read the instructions on how to flash in the rom thread.
Samsung will never provide an official ics.

it can b upgraded via cm9 as said b4 ....but since u ahve bought your phone recently u may want to check the model no ... the roms here are mainly for GT S5830 not its variants like GT S5830i ....if your phone is GT S5830i then the roms wont work for you

i am new with the flash rom stuffs,and a friend of mine wants a stable rom,shes using a samsung galaxy 5830i,she asks me to root her phone for her,since basically im using the pac man rom for my desire hd,and i found a thread on the original 5830,and im wondering if i can flash that rom to a 5830i,i flashed her a jelly blast rom for 5830i,so im askin for some honest opinions and guides, if this is possible with out bricking her phone,thanks in advance will be waiting for replies.

S5830 and S5830i are'nt the same. So Never try to flash S5830i with S5830 ROM like pacman.
There are several roms available for GT - S5830i. You can find it on thread dedicated for S5830i on xda.
Few suggestions are,
Ace-i-Sure
AndroidScream
RazoDroiD
MindCr Rom
and a Lot of stuff here!

Absolutely right bro. Fellows who r more concerned about battery performance and all that, should refrain themselves from custom roms. CR is more about visual looks and tweeks as well as modded kernels. Jelly blast is really an awesome rom. Rather i would say that its d best rom among others.

Yup, there will always be questions. I suggest you read the stickies in the forums for rooting and flashing and then try the ROMs one by one. That is how I did it

I can see that you are not a new user, but it seems like you haven't watched the "I am a noob on xda-developers".
I bought an ace in February, and didn't post my problems ONCE, because I found all the answers I needed, just by reading the threads, installation instructions,etc.
The only answer anyone should give you is: Lurk more.

Hmm, go read some more. Read trough the flashing tutorials and so on, go peak inside the Rom.zip see what files it contains etc.
Just so you get used to everything. Don't post threads like this.
