is it android version 4.0.3 or 4.0.4?

4.0.4.
I've narowed it down to the GpsLocationProvider process. It's keeping my phone awake all the time.

Ok. It was an app i used to block location tracking of android OS. Somehow it made the process keep running aall the time

GB 2.3.3 battery use question

Hi all.
Quick question. On the Galaxy tab running the new GB 2.3.3, the Android system shows running at 94%. But on my GT I9000 S running also on 2.3.3, it shows running at 2%.
What do these numbers mean? And why such a huge difference?
Thanks in advance

I think the info about battery ist not very useful.
What is counting to display and what is counting to Android-System? Its in the programmers choice.
I think its a kernel issue.

Galaxy Note not going idle?

Hi I think I'm having problem with my galaxy Note, I went for a meeting and leave it on my desk doing nothing and make sure that I turned off the display.
But when I came back it was so hot! It feels like it never went in idle or something.
Then I check on battery usage, it was on running on battery for about 5 hours. then this Android OS was also running for almost the same time. So I'm guessing that it didn't go to idle mode and consumed my battery significantly.
Then I remember, before going in the meeting I was reading my google reader feeds, and I just turned off/locked my screen without closing the app pressing the home button. Does it matter?

Not sure, but that could keep the Note from going to sleep, so use it some more and see if it still happens. If it does then you'll know, if it doesn't then install this and keep an eye on it (press menu and "App Sucker")
Ok. Thanks for the app suggestion!

I've used the badass battery monitor, for about 6 hours, the app said that kernel used 98% of the battery. Is this normal? I never used my note since I unplugged it on the charger with fully charged battery. And it drained 40%!! Even when I'm not using my galaxy note.

Wow, no that's not normal. Mine says 3.2%. Are you rooted? What ROM do you use?
My note is not rooted... Only the stock rom I think. But I updated it when an update was available. My launcher perhaps? Keeps on draining my battery. This is really frustrating.
Any suggestions?

use AOKP or Slim ICS and see how that takes a 180 degree
CM9 is the best one. no battery drain.
It probably has nothing to do with your rom, try better battery stats from market, read the getting started guide, and check for wakelocks.

id say change a kernel. had a similar issue with glitch, moved to devil and problem solved.

Resetting statistics does nothing for the actual battery life.

Best ROM for battery?

Currently I'm on SlimBean 4.2.2, disabled the phone app since I only use Skype+WiFi with it. Battery drains fast. What's the best ROM out there for battery? 4.1, 4.0?

Probably cm7. I'm using it on my phone right now and it last forever. Could probably go 2 days on a charge.

[Help] Battery is abnormal

Anyone can help me about this problem? I"m using CM10.1.2 stable and my problem is all about the life of the battery. I full charge my droid in 100% and use it normally then from 80%, it falls to 45% without using any superb app, just common like facebook, etc...then from 30% to 15% . If anyone there can help me, please guide me to solve this problem.

Did it just start doing this? I actually noticed this happen from time to time on about every ROM I have tried, including CM10.2 which I am running now. But it's not all the time. Just a once or twice a month it seems. And it's usually happens when it hits about 40% or so, then drops like a rock to 15%. If it's happening a lot I would try booting back to stock or running a different ROM and see if it does it there as well. If so it could be an issue with the battery. You could also try installing BetterBatteryStats (it is free here on XDA) and see if that tells you anything.
thanks for the reply sir

Hi, I also get bad battery life when I'm on Cyanogenmod 10.1.3, but I got better battery life when I installed 10.2 although I also installed less apps. Have you checked BetterBatteryStats XDA edition yet? It tells you information about kernel wakelocks that could be draining your battery life and you may be able to use this info to fix problems in your phone to improve battery life. And of course when the battery meter reports 20-30% percent it will drop like a rock by 10% (I also experienced this in the Stock ROM from 4.0.4 and 4.1.2)
