I used to use the Best Tube app for downloading youtube vids for watching offline. After switching to the vegan rom, I went to the market to download the app again and it was missing. several market fix attempts doesn't make it show up, and trying all the reputable app sites show it missing from the market.
Anyone have the apk for it? Or can recommend a good free app from the market that does the same thing and works well with vegan v1 b5.1?

Looks a little suspect to me, but they guy in the vid has the XDA app, so who knows.
This app needs flash i think? Basically searches for shows on video sites like megavideo, frogmovz, etc.
Your best bet for streaming TV and Movies on the XOOM is going to be PLEX, in my opinion.
IF you only have a Windows based computer to host the server on then you will only be able to stream what ever local content you have at present. The Windows based server for Plex is still very much a work in progress.
IF you have a Mac to host the server on then there are many plugin available such as Hulu and Netflix, to go along with local content.
At present PLEX will give you a video subsystem error if you attempt to play video on the XOOM. I know for a fact that the XOOM is being worked on by the PLEX devs, and we should have a working version out in the near future.
I will post here in the Xoom Apps section as soon as we have it ready for our lovely new toy.

It works fine on my Evo 4G. Scanned with Lookout. All clear. Don't know if that means much but yeah. lol

The aplication need flash player installed. It will play the videos from megavideo and other streaming site that are using jwplayer. The aplication is working fine in all 2.2 / 2.3 android flash capable tablets and in most of android devices with flash.

The app looks and functions fine except it wont actually play a video.
It will give me the message "Megavideo will load in a few seconds, please wait" and then just sits there.
If I touch the menu button I get the option to "Close Browser". If I touch the screen, it shows the progress bar at the top and loads the Megavideo site.
If I use the Karambavidz link it plays sound, but no video.
Frogmovz gives me the message to "Tap play and let the video load", but there is nothing to tap. The screen is black.

Hi,
We are working in an update that will be released soon, probably before monday that allows karambavidz and loombo links to be played without using flash player, using the android native player. Those links should work fine.
For the other links, you can email yourself the link, copy it, and open it with "Dolphin HD" browser (free on market). It has been reported on Xoom forum that they can use the links if they use in this way. I know is not a good way to do it, but is a temporary workarround.
More info soon in the application thread, we are working right now on the update, its almost finished.

TV Shows Stream v3.0 has been updated now (the lite version will be updated on monday likely), clean the market cache if you dont see the update.
Karamabvidz and Loombo links can now be opend with external player. (the android native player, rock player, vplayer or any other that you have installed on your device.
We will be working on how to improve the other video links performance over xoom in the next weeks. For the other devices flash 10.2 is working fine. (flash 10.2 is beta for honeycomb) .

anyone try out jetflicks? Its pretty much a membership to a website, but many many different shows to choose from. They seem to keep up to date pretty well. Dont pay for the application its only a link to their website.

for anybody who wants to watch tv shows (or movies) you can:
1. goto icefilms.info
2. select a show
3. select a megaupload link (source #1,etc)
4. click Proceed to: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XXXXXXX
5. click on View on Megavideo
6. watch
So I use stock browser/ICS browser+ to surf. And watching embedded YouTube videos within websites is a nightmare. I have STICK IT! App or even YouTube app so I'd have no problem using those but to even get the "share" button accessible I have to click play which causes a big lag and then im frantically trying to click share, which usually doesn't work. If I just let it play and then click fullscreen within the site it lags and usually freezes and blacks out screen and doesn't play
To add, I have sites loaded as "desktop" by default.
Usually what I end up doing is looking at video title and trying to find it myself on the YouTube app.
What are your guys' thoughts on playing embedded YouTube videos? Lately its been so frustrating.
EDIT: I forgot what the final straw was that had me post on here.....after the you tube video freezes or bugs out, the browser bugs and wont load a page until I reboot xoom, even if I end task in manager

Try reinstalling flash on your xoom. Just go to the play store and look up "Flash". You should see something like "Adobe Flash". Uninstall it, and then reinstall it.

I downloaded VLC v0.0.2 from official XDA thread but it is not working.
The app starts and close instantly without any FC.
My purpose is for a new fresh app(and to play broken videos through some methods of possible)

please ask it in their official thread as it will help you resolve the bug more easily and they will also get to know about it
So I have been though multiple ROMs on my HD 7" and all of them behave exactly the same way when it comes to Hulu. Basically the Hulu app works just great until you play a video. The ads play with no issue, but right when it is going to play the main video, the app just crashes. I have searched this forum and the googles for answers but I can't find anybody that appears to be having this issue.
Right now I am running omni-4.4.4-20151106-tate-HOMEMADE. I have tried CM11 M12, CM12.1 Nightly, CARBON-KK-UNOFFICIAL-20151105-2317-tate, candy5-release.v4.0-20151015-UNOFFICIAL-tate, Slim-tate-5.1.1.beta.0.14-UNOFFICIAL-20160116-1135 and the app behaves exactly the same way on all of them.
Any ideas what is going on and how to fix it?

Do the roms have adaway baked into them, or some other ad block app? I know you said that the ad will play, but then crash at the video, but that's the only thing I can think of. This was happening on my wife's tablet and I put an exclusion for hulu in adaway and it fixed the issue. Just a thought to get the ball rolling.

I don't think so. Well at least I cannot find anything to indicate that there is an ad block app built in to the omnirom that I am using. Hmmm...
