lol! I always end up in bootloop while in my galaxy s and galaxy s2, so im pretty calm now when I encounter bootloop. Thanks also!

Try using the search feature. Asked and answered loads of times (either via another lazy person's new thread like this one, or within ROM specific threads.) In fact if everyone searched and the info was posted in one place it would make everyone's life easier!
You have to do a wipe / factory reset after flash back to GB otherwise you'll get stuck in the boot loop. When it happened to me I didn't know how to get into stock recovery mode as I couldn't find the info via a search. Since then I've tried to reply to ALL these threads with the info. It turns out it is really easy: Vol up, home and power held together at boot up. Then select wipe / factory reset, re-boot and cross your fingers!
Good luck.

[Q] Flashed Batterymod, but...!

I just flashed a battery mod on my galaxy s.
But i think i downloaded the Wrong one!!! When i did a reboot, the process 'android.phone' stopped working. Mmmm.. OK.
Tried a factory reset through the 3 button menu. Well now it does not do anything, i can see the boot movie, but then i get a Black screen with an heartbeat on the vibration thingy.
I did not panic and tried to flash an other firmware. Well it did not work. I see the boot movie, but then the screen blacks out and nothing works......
I searched for this, but i didnt get a good answer on how to solve this.
So if anyone is kind enough to help me, and tell me what to do in simple steps.
The same here. I used version D for JP6 & the 2nd method.
I had to reflash the softwear.
Exact same problem with me, had to reflash. Could someone tell the guy who has the battery mod thread?

1st. You need to flash a fresh firmware I suggest a official one so you can download the latest JP6 from kies without knifing the registry. you can get those firmwares from http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm but you need to register first. And here are the intructions how to flash http://samsunggalaxysforums.com/sho...and-and-flash-newer-firmware-to-your-Galaxy-S
2nd. After a succesfull flash go to recoverymode (shut down device, hold: vol-up, home and power)
wipe cache and do a factory reset just incase, and boot your device.
3rd. Install JP6 through Kies
edit:
BTW im a noob who did just this after i messed my phone to a state like mentioned in op So i dont take any responsibility about any damage you do to your phone. I did something like this and now i have official JP6 inside my sgs and its flying

[Q] Help asap. Bootloop (Newbie)

Hi all,
Tried to flash ICS 4.0.3. Had flashed CM7 and it was working fine but the flash was purely so I could put ICS on, installed the zip through CWM but now it is bootlooping. I see the Galaxy S original bootscreen then what I am presuming is the custom ICS bootscreen then alot of CWM text with the android robot then the android robot dead with a phone through his chest
I have tried removing the battery a couple of times.
I am a bit of a newbie so any help is much appreciated
What shouls I do?
BTW I can get to download mode so flashing through odin is always a last resort but if ICS is redeemable then thats much preferred!
Josh, you didn't listen to my advice on your last post did you?????
I'm too drunk now, hopefully someone will be able to help you.
However if I were you, I'd pull the battery, get back into recovery, flash ics again and then it should boot fine. This has happened every time I have flashed ics and is well documented in the threads.
And next time read up some more before flashing.

Could not figure out how to get back into recovery mode and I needed a quick fix so I reflashed Darky via Odin as I had the files handy, I may try ICS again another time.
Thanks anyway.

When your phone is Boot looping like that, just press and hold Vol up + Home + power for about 10 seconds. The phone will then restart into Recovery. From there reflash the ICS build again.
Have been told on another forum that it is fine to go straight from any GB rom to ICS simply by flashing the kernel then the rom then again the kernel. So I could therefore go straight from 10.2 RE to ICS?
Is this true as it seems to contradict the guide in OneCosmic's post?
Whatever Rom I flash, I always follow that particular Dev's instructions. That way you avoid Boot Loops or Force Close errors!
How long should the initial boot of ICS take? Successfully flashed it (I think) but it seems to be on the fancy moving panel bootscreen thing for quite a long time. Is this normal?
Edit: Up and running, thanks to everyone who helped
Could not download from the market so I read around and noticed it was a common problem and that you neede to wipe data/factory reset now I am stuck in a bootloop and cannot get into recovery mode is there an exact way to press and release the buttons or is it a case of: take out battery, vol up home and power and just hold?

Please Help!!!!!!!

thanks for the reply
yes it does enter what i presume to be download mode (up to continue, down to restart)
Boot into download mode and flash a stock rom via Odin then start over your not bricked don't worry
After you do the stock ROM via Odin and let it settle, you can try the ICS repack again. Someone here can help you, but theres already good threads out there for step by step.
One thing I can say since you asked what not to do again is use PC Odin instead of Mobile Odin. Yes, you will get a triangle but you can use triangle away to get rid of it, if you wish. I personally sport the triangle on my phone
Yeah, your phone is not bricked, no worries.
Here's a thread that will help you, make sure to get correct files and flash to stock using PC Odin:

Try long pressing power button and rebooting, if not downloading mode is your way, (do you have ICS rom zip into SD Card?), you will need it to flash it, goes to development threads and you can find it, you can choose one of them, actually I´m on Criskelo V2 LPC6 its good for dayly use its full working, when you got it press at same time Vol +/power button/home and enter in Clockwork mode goes to install zip from sd card, choose from sd card and ICS zip, back to menu wipe data, wipe cache, goes to advanced and wipe dalvick cache, reboot system now and follow steps introducing gmail account and its all enjoy yor NOTE with ICS.

Now it's stucked on SAMSUNG logo. I've tried to reboot a few times but nothing changes. ANy help would be apreciated.

Did you update this way to official ICS?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25947847&postcount=4
If you already did above, then try this:
0. Disconnect USB
1. Power off
2. Hold vol+ & home & power, let go of power once you see Samsung logo
3. You'll be in a special recovery mode. From here you can choose factory reset.

Yeah, I thought maybe you skipped something. I had CheckROM v6 on mine, it's was gingerbread rom. I did a PC Odin upgrade using the stock ICS, and everything was still there working. I did do another factory reset tonight from the settings and not in the recovery menu. Could it be a corrupted download of stock ICS? Some people were saying if you had a custom ICS before, this method won't work. Are you able to put back stock gingerbread?
I have this same problem. Cant get past samsung logo. I tried flashing several times, did factory reset, just wont work. I flashed using heimdall, not odin, would that make a difference?
Flashed back to 2.3.6, that works fine. Tried reflashing official ics, same problem, stuck at samsung logo. Factory reset in cwm does not work. Any ideas?
Hey buddy, I had the same problem tonight when I tried to restart my phone after a build.prop update - changing the wifi interval from 15 to 120... doh!
Got stuck at the boot screen and so out of desperation I decided to wipe, it didnt work. I was still stuck.
So I flashed XXLC1 (Open Euro) from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 with PC Odin and it came back ok . I lost root though but thats no biggie, at least I have a working phone now.
Hope that helps you. Good Luck!

Bricked Sony Xperia Z1!! Need help urgently!!!

So I was flashing a custom rom in CWM and it was just about to reboot when it said that it could not find the root files and asked if I wanted to install them. I clicked yes and now its stuck on the Sony sign. I can't turn it off or anything.
I tried using flash tool but it said i had to turn it off and go into flashmode which I have no way of doing.
Please help ASAP

This is not a brick, it is just a bootloop. i think, you didn't wiped data / cache ?! just flashed the zip?!
If you flash a rom with cwm, that is another rom then your actual one, then you will have to wipe data / cache.
So first go to CWM and wipe data / factory reset. then try to boot again.
If you need flashmode:
Turn off device (if it is stuck, press and hold Power + VolUp)
Then hold VolDown and connect the usb cable
PS: for the next time, try reading the pinned posts in dev forums before you ask such questions, cause this is BASIC KNOWLEDGE for flashing a device.

hmm you dont need to reinstall ... the important thing is WIPE DATA ... Android leaves files on the data partition that may not be compatible with the new rom and that then is a bootloop or other problems with the new rom. so everytime you flash a new rom, wipe data!
