Here ya be.....

Xda has been told not to link swype.apk and to use their www.beta.swype.com/ since its free to sign up and get updates.

Appreciate it.. reflashed it and totally forgot to save the working one I had.

Just in case someone needs it. Heres my original post with the working swype apk.

Try setting swiftkey portrait and landscape key height to large. I use the one for phones, and and it works fine. Almost as good as the keyboard on my playbook . The settings are under advanced.

Yeah am in the same boat, what are we doing wrong? Do I need to root the tab first?

It didn't work for me either, says screen res is not supported.

Looks like its a waiting game...

I hope they will release an update soon.

Personally, I would like to use swipe in portrait, and swift key in landscape. I really wish someone could port the blackberry playbook keyboard though, that one is great .

I've been using Thumb Keyboard for a while now and it works fantastically, you can setup different keyboard layouts for portrait or landscape with lots of themes and custom settings (like height and width of the keyboards as well, not to mention custom letter combos) Its great!

I am not sure but I believe your refering to swype.
Swype well... it's in beta now. You can find .apk's for beta versions for different screen sizes resolutions, some of which seem to work better than others. XDA doesn't allow anyone to post links to swype .apks until swype leaves beta. The swype developers got pissed off that so many versions were posted here in the dream sapphire forums. I'm sure if you google you can find one that works on this resolution though
The droid x comes preloaded with swype, just go to menu>laungauge/keyboard, and check the box for swype. No need to look for the keyboard. If u have a droid x u have swype.

*sigh* Guys I know what swype is. The Captivate that I played with the other day had its own implementation of the multitouch keyboard, that is what I'm talking about.
yeah i know which one you are talking about. it looks exactly like the iphone keyboard, and i do mean exactly. jon4lakers did a comparison on youtube of the 2 phones and you can see them side by side at 19:47. i know they have a skin for the galaxy s look so i'm sure someone is working on the keyboard.

does anyone have a swype keyboard that works with cyanogenmod 7? i installed the swype keyboard but it doesnt show up in the input methods
You probably installed the installer. Open the installer and install swype itself.
If you are talking about Swipe pad, it's a mini-launcher, not a keyboard.

You have to enable swype in the settings. Go to settings-->Language and Keyboard and enable swype.
Have been using it for about a week and really like it.

So far, so good, i don't have any problem, regular up date.

I prefer the stock keyboard. works very well
me
i too used the market version by s.lin and even if i randomly type at silly speed its working just fine, its the best keyboard i ever used on the tab.
love it !
I don't really see what the fascination with the GB keyboard is.
IMO the best keyboard for our Tab is Thumb Keyboard as its designed for the tablet in mind.

Because its simple. Don't get me wrong, Thumb Keyboard is great, but its a bit too chunky for me.

What keyboard are you using and why?

I'm using Kii keyboard. Awesome auto correct the trace texting performs way better than swype. This is the after market keyboard I've used so far.
I love the 90s good times
Good thread!! I'm ulusing ai but it has auto correct issues and dont like custom words. Going to try kii out

Kii is the truth.
I love the 90s good times
Google keyboard. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.inputmethod.latin I like its slide keyboard better than swype and swiftkey. It's not as obnoxious as those other two when using it like with popups or word changes. I make less recorrections.
I use a SwiftKey and it's fine for me!
I'm using Google keyboard and its auto correct and swype is pretty good for me. I'm trying the Kii keyboard but not seeing enough to keep me using it very long. But we shall see.
Sent from my SGS4. Go Blue!! Buck the Fuc keyes!!
Swype . . . for life. It's one of the first apps installed. I wish I could do it before the registration of the phone.
I tried Kii for the first time and I love it. Auto correct and suggestion works in Google search like most don't. This keyboard was a huge relief.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2
Tried so many and my favorite is MultiLing. It offers many customization options. I even paid for this, it's so good.
SwiftKey. Seems the most refined of the ones I've tried.

Me too. Tried the stock one, Swiftkey flow, SlideIt, Thumb Keyboard, TouchPal, and a few others. Always come back to Swype.
I use the samsung keyboard. I like the number row above the qwerty keyboard. My only gripe is that it doesn't have auto correct.

I never really gave the Samsung keyboard a chance, but since rujelus22 themed it for his Blu Kuban rom, I decided to check it out. Glad I did. I was using his themed google keyboard, and liked it, but I like the stock more. I am impressed, Sammy got a lot right this go round.

What keyboards are you all using?

I am using ginger keyboard right now and I am curious about what other quality keyboards are out there. If y'all could help me find a new one with numbers on the main keyboard and has emojis, that would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance
