Wow, impressive. Did you pick the free shipping option? UPS hasn't populated for my tracking number yet. Were there any extras not mentioned on the BB site?
Edit:
NM, tracking is available. Ships from Maumee, OH (near Toledo). I'm just like 90min from there, so hopefully I'll get it tomorrow (I didn't order till late in the afternoon yesterday).

Got mine. Nice enough shape in refurb box, and the accessories all look to be unopened and new.
One thing I didn't see was the headset mentioned... Is that in the Tab box itself? (Left my boxes at work.)
Only thing I'm not a huge fan of is it feels a bit sluggish compared to my Galaxy Note. Hoping the upcoming ICS update will help. Otherwise, I'm very impressed. The screen is nice, 8.9 might be the perfect size for me, the accessories are great and I freakin LOVE THAT IT DOCKS HORIZONTALLY. I wish everyone provided that option.

I ordered one as well but tracking is saying it won't be here until next wednesday…blah. I'm in AZ. Excited to get it though, I'm thinking 8.9 will be the perfect size.

@slatestud
Thanks! Yep, 3.2 did help... Just got ICS on my Note, hope the 8.9 update is released soon.
Still really happy with the 8.9. Great little device. The sleeve for the tablet is very nice and the keyboard dock is awesome!
Can't believe I got all of this for $300...
EDIT: And yep, the headset/headphones are under the little booklet in the box.

Bummer. Mine isn't scheduled to get here until Monday. Was hoping to get it today so I could play with it over the weekend.
Awesome that the accessories are all brand new. Quite the deal.

Thanks for the code. Bought a new one from B & N for my son, and had a blast putting CM7 and OC to 1325 Mhz. Very usable and fun device.... I want one for myself!
Was thinking maybe I'd wait for a cool Honeycomb tablet ... after price drops. But after looking at some reviews and PRICE$, why wait? For someone who moves around, 10" is too big.
Was kind of looking for one on craigslist or something, but this works great!

Nook or Tab?
Not sure if that tab requires some kind of activation or not? Read some reviews/videos lastnight comp Tab vs. Nook and the tab usually wins on most based on "out of box" exp. Don't think they had the latest tweeks on the nooks though. And most where comparing the Tab wi-fi only which is actually downgraded frim 3G one in a few ways.
Can live fine w/ GPS tether, no camera. Get by without actual buttons ok. Better dev here and build quality, and I'm getting used to the dpi and actually like it.

AT&T is selling a refurbished galaxy tab for $250, no contract. The only requirement is you have to buy a month of service, which can easily be canceled and refunded with a polite call to AT&T customer service.
My conclusion: DON'T BUY THE WIFI VERSION. Just don't. It is a scaled down version of the cellular version. So for the same price as the wifi one, why not? Also, both the nook and galaxy tab have great hacking communities so ROMs are plentiful in both cases, it just depends on whether the spec bump is worth it.

Just curious if anyone with a refurbished nook has noticed any screen defects like dust under the screen or stuck pixels. I know I went through 4 nooks with screen defects before I got one without any problems. I know others have had similar issues. Wondering if a lot of these refurbished nooks are these returned ones.

Free Samsung Keyboard Dock with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 tablet $349 @ BestBuy.com

I thought I would pass this on. Right now Bestbuy.com has the Samsung Galaxy 8.9 for $349 also with a free keyboard dock. This does say online only but I bought my tablet last Friday and just talked with Customer Support and they said I should be able to go into the store and get $50 back and the dock. (I paid $399 for mine.)
Galaxy Tab 8.9 on sale at Best Buy for $349 – Free keyboard dock too
Yes I saw that and ordered mine. They can also do it thru their phone orders. I couldn't get it to add the free dock online, so I called and chose the store pickup option. I will be picking up my tab tomorrow morning and they will ship the free dock to te store next week. The tab and keyboard dock for $349+ tax! Ou cant beat that.
I jumped on this as well, didn't encounter any issues with the dock showing in the cart. Store pick up on the tablet tomorrow, but the dock is on a bit of a back order for a few days.
I've gone back and forth on the Tab 8.9 for a while, if it had an Exynos or OMAP4, I'd have jumped a while ago. Darn Tegra 2.
I tried to get them to give me the dock in the store they wouldn't so I just got my $50 back and went on. I think I am going to call customer service and see if they cant hook me up.
Sold! Email invoice shows tab should arrive a few days before the keyboard.

The Galaxy Tab 8.9 is the perfect size to me. Out of all the tablets I've tried it seems to have the best form factor!
It does seem like a very good deal for those who are looking for a tab
I purchase one of these last time Best Buy had it on sale for $349 without the dock. Didn't open it up and after some reading I decided to return it. Wound up getting the AT&T LTE version on craigslist for $420. The reasoning was I didn't want a Tegra 2 version and liked the option of having LTE available if needed....The downside is not much developement for the LTE versions yet. Seeing how it's a giant Skyrocket mostly I'm hoping it'll come soon. I can live with honeycomb for now.
I also took advantage of this offer and bought the 8.9 with keyboard dock.
Does anyone know whether the full functionality of this keyboard dock is compatible with current ROMs such as AOKP Galaxian-Soup? Any info is appreciated.
I got this deal last week. I also rooted and installed Galaxian Soup ASOP and for the most part the keyboard dock still functions correctly. There are a few function keys that no longer work but the majority of the important ones do. IIRC the lock function key no longer unlocks the device but does wake it up. For the most part it has not hampered me from using it. I have not noticed any issues with mine short of the few function keys that either quit working or work a little bit differently now.
If I bought my tablet at best buy in store, but didn't even hear about the free dock, do you think I could still get one?

Turns Bionic into a netbook/linux laptop w/ webtop2sd + webuntu or just a full screen web browser with stock webtop. Lapdock is pretty small so lugging around for travel when u want small form factor works well for some.
Oh that's cool i guess. I use citrix and leave the whole laptop at home. just bring the ipad if i need a larger screen.
I heard the lap dock is really slow...true?
Sent from my Eclipsed Bionic
It's not that bad, it actually is pretty acceptable for most stuff, email, browsing. Every once in a while though the mousepad seems to freeze for a bit. It's weird since the keyboard input is still accepted, like the mousepad is taking a nap ;-) Again, I am not complaining for $85, it does provide a nice 1376x768 display with a dock, additional power (small battery) and it thin, pretty compact. Now if I can get webtop2sd + webuntu working I will be very happy with it as a pretty useful laptop for travel, conference, lite duty use.

Ebay dock or wait for official dock.

Has anyone purchased a dock for their nexus 7? I'd like something that uses the pogo pins but like the galaxy nexus, it looks like we are out of luck.
I've seen some cheap looking docks on ebay buy not sure I want to chance it without a review.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I'd say just wait 9 days to see if Asus/Google release the dock with the 32GB at the Google press conference on 10/29. If not, then go ahead and get a 3rd party dock.
I'm waiting for an official POGO pin dock too... But honestly, I think its vaporware and will never see the light of day so I'm not holding my breath.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Yup, just hang on a little bit until the Google event at the end of the month. If there is no news by then, I would start checking out other docks.
Just like with my Galaxy Nexus, I gave up waiting for the pogo dock and ordered a cheapo off of ebay. It works fine for $10, but they are all portrait-mount so not good for movies or YouTube. I'll still get the official dock if they release it within the next few months.
Mine is just about perfect. Available everywhere. Inexpensive and disposable. Just waiting for the pogoplug version.

Clamshell Keyboard

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why Google and Samsung seemingly refuse to develop a competent and attractive keyboard solution. Especially with the Microsoft Surface Touch and Type covers selling so well with the actual Surface. The Nexus 10 has such an ideal connector in the pogo pins, and creating a keyboard dock with a hinge could not possibly involve heavy R&D costs. The market is clearly there. I would love to see a third party maker, like the creators of the ClamCase for the iPad, come up with a solution. The new ClamCase Pro is absolutely beautiful and greatly increases the productivity potential of the iPad. I'd buy one for the Nexus 10 in a heartbeat. I suppose I should not be surprised as we have yet to see an official pogo charger, although the one I bought works rather well, from either Samsung or Google. Both are doing a horrendous job of supporting a flagship tablet.
That was the rant portion of this post, my apologies.
I'm very curious to see what the best solutions everyone has come up with. Yes, I have perused all the other threads regarding the topic, and I've found the answers and workarounds less than appealing. So unless Google and Samsung miraculously come to their senses and release an accessory that should have been available 3 months ago, I'm hoping that one of the brilliant minds on here will spark some hope or joy into my search. So if you don't mind, please share your ideas, opinions, and possible solutions that I may be able to try out and attempt to assuage my growing frustration.
I just hook up a Bluetooth keyboard and put the tablet on a stand.
From a business standpoint, it's a waste of good R&D money to try to develop an integrated keyboard solution for a tablet. Nexus devices always have vestigial ports and plugs, and this is just due to Google's lazy practice of axing a particular feature over cost concerns, and then they just ask the hardware manufacturer to leave the remnants of it in rather than spend more money revising the design.
People that really need keyboards and mice will already have a preferred Bluetooth or OTG USB solution, meanwhile the OS itself doesn't require nor is it designed around those input devices. Personally I find it annoying and slow to use the OS with a mouse and keyboard, and only use the keyboard if I have a table nearby and need to type for extended periods of time. If such an occasion wasn't so rare, I probably would have bought an actual laptop or Chromebook instead.
Microsoft makes a point of marketing the Surface as more of a business device, but the RT still fell flat in that regard (wtf no Active Directory integration?), and the Pro is obscenely expensive for a device that doesn't offer any additional business features that can't be accomplished by a cheaper Windows 8 laptop. Keyboards and mice on tablets are niche features, and most people balked at the fact that a touch cover for the Surface RT costs an extra $100, which was also a pretty terrible keyboard overall. Google wasn't ready to make the same mistake, because historically Samsung charges obscene amounts of money for their accessories as well.
If given the choice between a $30 Motorola Bluetooth keyboard that requires its own batteries, or a $70-$100 Samsung keyboard that hooks into the pogo pins, I'd prefer the $30 option. I use my tablet like a tablet, and use a desktop or laptop when I need to do actual work. Trying to shoehorn my tablet into being a laptop replacement often ends in failure and disappointment, so I just accepted its limitations and moved on.

I don't know if that would make a difference. I ordered mine a couple days ago and Amazon estimates three to six weeks for delivery. I will let you know if I get it sooner.

Thanks. I didn't cancel and will also keep you posted.
I see now that minisuit has changed the picture to the black one - it was originally the brushed aluminum - so this should be a fun wait and see experience.
I received an email today saying they are out of the black ones until next weekend if I want to wait or they can send me a silver now. Either way they're offering a 20% refund for the inconvenience. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. I wanted the black one.

I noticed from the pictures that this clam-shell keyboard and the other 2 i found on amazon all have a big piece of plastic that sticks out right in front of the space-bar key... i suppose its necessary for it to close properly with the N10....
When anyone gets it, please let us know if it get on the way of typing normally!
Thanks!
So any reviews?
Yeah I have been watching these keyboards as well. I love how they snap onto the nexus to protect it.
