[Request] Pre-installed swype - Motorola Droid Bionic

I'm looking for the pre-installed version of swype that come son the stock Rom on the Bionicle.
It should be 2 files
/system/app/Swype.apk
/system/lib/libswypecore.so
libSwypeCore might have the version at the end of the name. Im looking for it because i want a version of swype that doesn't have the voice input or swype button.
Here is a video to see the difference between the regular and the preinstalled version.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9ZVLHNrowM
Thanks in advance

Here are the files you need
dropbox.com/s/hw9q2dg96bpaoqf/Swype.apk
dropbox.com/s/fttcf3zs88oqaja/libSwypeCore.so
If these are the incorrect files or if you need something else i can upload other files from my Bionic.

Worked thanks!
Yours has the swype key thoguh. =p

No problem!
& I just looked back at the video you linked, they aren't comparing swype to the preinstalled swype, they were comparing swype to the Motorola multitouch keyboard but mislabeled it.

Alternate Keyboards (Android default / Droid X)

I have searched hi and low to find the answer to this question.
The Android Default Keyboard cannot be installed in a Sense rom without it's necessary framework.
I have attached two flash-able update that work with our phones:
The Droid X keyboard (I found nothing special about this)
The Default Android Keyboard, and a modded one with voice input.
I have also attached a modded HTC keyboard that I found to work with our phones.
I am currently looking into updating Swype to the newest version and also adding the EVO 4G keyboard.
-I Take no credit for these. I'm merely sharing the items in this sector of the forum.
After playing around with a few things I have discovered the following:
The default Android, Droid X, an EVO keyboards all install with the same package name. What does that mean?
If we don't push them into system/app or data/app we can only use one at a time if we install using Astro or similar.
I'm not going to give u instructions for using ADB in recovery (Hint Hint, SUFBS and RootFileExplorer wont write, can read though)
I have however made a flash-able update with the default keyboard framework only!
You can decide whether you want to push a dozen kb's or install them 1 at a time and try them out.
Also Here is a link to a page with EVO kb's

HTC_IME mod keyboard

Hey guys, I'm currently running CM6 rom and I tried to install the HTC_IME MOD keyboard with no luck. I was actually able to install it but when I select it as the input method the keyboard never appears on the screen. Has anyone gotten this to work on their Aria successfully? I tried it on both CM6 and Attn1 liberated rom. I installed swype and that works fine, but I really would prefer the HTC keyboard.

Here's a link to the HTC_IME thread on the forums. I've tried the low and high res versions and neither worked. They install fine, I go into settings and enable, then choose it as the input method, no problem. But the keyboard never pops up.

no offense but we arent looking for a different language we are looking at the keyboard interface
i also suspect that this was designed for a different device, a higher resolution device and the low resolution versions dont support froyo

works great i dont seem to have the issue with a glitch on the speak now...but it does work great...also im running cm6 6.0.2 with dumfuq's oc kernel 825...wich is great btw
I got this to work...once. Not sure what I did right, but I'd like to do it again. I was running CM6.1 and tried it many times. I think the only time I got it to work may have been when I chose lo res. I shall reattempt after I resolve a few other issues. I will do my best to report back if there is success.
Use the Low Resolution. I used a PC for the download and extraction. All you need is the apk that comes from the extract. Send the apk to your phone using any means (e-mail, usb connect). Use a file explorer such as Astro to install the apk. After installing the apk, go to Menu>Settings>Language & keyboard and check next to HTC_IME. (Notice there is a settings link - quite good). Back out to the home screen and select an app that would need text input. Long press on the text field, then select Input method. Select HTC_IME mod.
If you use the gimpsta ( http://www.gimpsta.com/themerlo/) skinner, use the lowres. When you want to change skins, just do the same install you did earlier with one tricky exception. They are all labeled the same, no matter what you name each skin's apk. When you locate the new skin in your explorer and try to install the apk, it will not give you an install option, but an uninstall option. Go with the uninstall, then when you return to the file explorer, reattempt install. Follow through with the subsequent steps to activate the input method, just like your original install of this custom keyboard.
Hope this helps. I was almost obsessed with making this work, because I had seen it work once. Now we just wait for gimpsta to give us low res users more options like custom keys, symbols and spacebar inlays.
Yeah,
1. You have to enable it in the menu.
2. You do a long check on a type-box.
3. choose input method, and then you can use HTC_IME mod.
4.??
5. Profit!
I'm having trouble getting this to work. I tried both hi-res links and the 1.6 lo res. the hi-res had nothing show up when a keyboard was needed (the standard android keyboard disapeared and was not replaced). the lo-res force closed.
i wiped all data/caches before installing CM6.1
Does anybody know how to make HTC_IME to show the character "ñ" on the keyboard? Even though I only marked spanish as my language it just won't show. It should be next to the "L"
Try pressing and hold or slide up and should show it.

I did it! It was on the "keyboard language" section. It's weird that I didn't notice that before. I was choosing my language on the "Language Selection" area. Thank you for for you answer

Gingerbread Keyboard for rooted DX

http://bit.ly/hNlgaZ
1. Use Droid X Bootsrapper to boot into Clockwork Recovery
2. Navigate to mounts and storage
3. Mount /system
4. Back out to main menu and select install zip from sdcard
5. Select choose zip from sdcard
6. Navigate to GingerBreadLatinIME.zip and select it to install
7. After install completes, return to main menu and reboot phone
Tested and works great on my DX running 2.3.320 and Fission 2.3
Is this one any different from the updated release on droid-life?
the one on droid life was uber small.. any fix for that? also is there a single .zip with the dictionary and kb?
The one on Droid Life has been fixed. I am using mine on Fission 2.3 and all features work.
I'm sure I've missed the answer to this somewhere but, is this keyboard multi-touch?
There's one in rom manager under fabulous's rom section with a full dictionary and working auto-correction.
Okay since I'm still a newbie I have a question.
I'm on Rubix and didn't like that the motorola multi-touch keyboard wasn't on there.
Instead there's the Android keyboard. I installed the apk of the multi-touch from
punk.kaos here and I deleted the LatinIME from the system/lib folder to replace it with
the libnji that came with his apk zip.
Now I've gone through the bootstrap method as described in the OP but the GB
keyboard isn't installing and instead I'm getting the FC on the multi-touch. My question
is this, do I have to replace the libjni again with the one that comes in this zip?
Works well. Enjoying it..
The keyboard is multitouch. I'll edit this post once I've tried it ton rubix 1.9
edit: works just fine :]
Using the GB keyboard to type this. It seems a little small... installed the one in ROM manager.

lets post screen shots
Mine is comming in really small. Changing the LCD density fixes it, but I really have no interest in doing that permanently. any fix?
Is there a difference in the one in rom manager and the one from droid-life? or are they the same
Tried both of them...one from rom manager and the one from post...both are tiny...but I can still type pretty well just slower. I feel like if this was the normal size it would be better than the stock moto one!

Tiny fix. Dl lcd density and select stock 240 then apply/reboot. Fixed! Well fixed till next time you reboot.

In your case you need to put LatinIME.apk back on you phone like it was before all the changes you mentioned above. Then you can install the Gingerbread Keyboard once that is done.
The reason for all your troubles is cause the Gingerbread Keyboard installs over and replaces both the Droid X Multi-touch Keyboard and if installed the 2.2 Android Keyboard. Hope this helps and post back with any questions.

Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and used the rom manager method and it worked fine.
Ewww.
This is really tiny with the LCD mod in place! I guess I have to go my backup now, or does anyone know how to uninstall this thing?
No go..
I get a constant force close. Didn't work for me.

Swype Skinning on Nexus S

Hey XDA,
So I'm looking for a way to skin the swype beta on the Nexus S. The metamorphs don't work because they write to /system/app/ and I've tried the copy it to system/app, metamorph, then copy back to data/app/ method to no avail. The stock swype looks like s**t and I really want to change it back to the one from my myTouch 4G. Anyone know how to do this?
And I've tried everything, including copying over my licence file from the beta to the myt4g version, vice versa, changing the png files, decompling both apks and combining them etc.
Btw if anyone's looking for the metamorphosis, its called HTC_IME
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
really? 102 views and nothing?
what i did was pull the swype apk from the /data/app folder and then copied it to my memory card; then i decompiled it with apk manager. then you can access all the image, xml, etc files you want.
change them or whatnot, there are a few themes already on the Android Themes forum.
after you make/copy your images into their respective folders, just recompile, sign. and then put it on your memory card. then uninstall your old swype, and install your new swype, and then go to the swype installer to generate the proper license, and that should work.
hope this helps.
Didnt work, i click generate licence and it says swype registration failed and quits

I had a similar problem when updating to my nexus s from nexus one. I had to make some email account and swap my swype beta account over to the new email account, then I could create another beta account using my primary email, then I downloaded a new swype.apk through the swype installer on my nexus s, then uninstalled it, installed my modified version, and generated the license. After that, it worked.

Download the V27 "Low resolution version for Android 1.6 and up", if it doesn't work try the "Low resolution version for Android 1.5"
I think that I have the LowRes for Android 1.6 and Up, it works fine
You don't need to install the Clicker.apk, just the HTC_Ime Apk
Just try and feedback
Oh! i forgot to say! You can simply backup the old HTC Keyboard APK by simply copy it from System/apps to your SDCARD.
But, BTW, i've installed yesterday the GingerDX 007 for Xperia X8 and the HTC IME Keyboard that comes with it works fine, are you having troubles with it?
Waiting for your feedback
Ooh, it's already included?
I did not know that. I read somewhere that the HTC_IME is considered one of the best and wanted to install it.
Nevermind then, thank you and sorry for disturbing.

Yes, it is included xD
HTC_IME is my favorite keyboard, his T9 keyboard is a very helpful alternative for those who want to chat, because the QWERTY keyboard with the screen vertically is realy difficult to write fast, and HTC_IME also has a very good dictionary
You're welcome, anything just PM me or ask in the forum
HTC_ime is already included in GingerDX ... so why do you need to install an another one?
edit:/ ok, my post useless.. It has been told already xD
