[Q][HELP][SOLVED] Sim Unlock code on Rogers with ICS not working - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

Hello. im sorry if this is not the right places, but here is what i can tell you.
I did the whole s-off, custom hboot, custom recovery business.
changes the ap? to 111111 (cant remember how many it was) to use the att update to ics.
installed virtuous rom.
i used the sim from my iphone 4 with a sim adapter to make it fit properly.
i got my unlock code. not sure if i can say where, so i wont. i got the link somewhere on xda and it seemed legit.
i just get unsuccesfulll...
and im scared to do it again, because i dont know how many more tried i have, it might only be 1 more time.
11140626
IMEI # 358730040400582
i double checked, this is correct.

fastboot oem writecid 11111111
could that be messing up my unlock?

going to try flashing back to stock rogers, i have a feeling thats whats messing it up

In the middle of downloading the stock RUU again...in the same boat here.
By chance is there any other way around this?
Not sure if this has any bearing, but could it have anything to do with the fact that I have changed my CID to 111111 from what it was previously (ROGERS3 - or something...dont remember what it was doh!).
Thanks

No, supercid did not effect it, just go back to stock, sim should unlock now, and repeated the process back to the way you want, good luck, I can't really offer much more advice, I would concider myself a noob that reads alot.

Where did you get your unlock code from?

I just searched xda for good references, prob the best way to find one

I believe you have to use the unlock code on the stock non rooted non unlocked phone before upgrading.

Yes just picked mine up today. Would love to know how to root this device also.
With this phone being released on AT&T on November 6th there will most certainly be a tremendous increase in the desire for root and dev involvement. It won't be long before this phone has it's own forum and a whole lot of XDA love. I'm one of the many that has been waiting for this phone to come out since it was leaked back in May and I can hardly wait to get my hands on one!
Adding support to this thread. Would love to get root for my Raider! Will also help out this process in anyway I can.

Does the raider/vivid have the ability to do HDMI out?
it has a mhl port which is physically identical to a micro usb, it does do hdmi out but you need an adapter
google mhl to hdmi and it will all come up
Do we know if the boot loader is locked or unlocked?
Add your vote here to get an HTC Holiday/Raider/Vivid forum added.
Anyone try the regular rooting methods

*PLEASE*, join us on IRC at #htc-holiday on freenode. We will help you to get what we need off of it, and this may very well lead us to a complete root / S-Off. I am IanWizard, and also, IOMonster, or any of the other users that are listed as "voiced" can help you, or put you in contact with us. This is very incredible. We hope to see you soon.

Cruising through but s-off means security off. You can write to certain partitions like the radio ect which you can't do with HTC unlock
Sent from my Warm 3.5 Evo using XDA app
OMG!
!!Thank you!!
...I don't care how you got it - you have S-OFF on your phone!
**begins to drool**
..I wish I was a dev. Good luck to all those who are about to work on this - all the guys like me are looking forward to playing with the spoils of your labors..lol. If only I knew linux, I'd be glad to help.
So, here's some information that I've gathered from jcase so far about your phone...
It would appear that you have Radio S-OFF, which is great news for you and you only right now.
Basically, it means that you have full access to your /system partition and almost everything else without using the HTCDev unlock tool. Any root you attempt will stick just fine.
Some background information, as I understand it to be:
HBOOT gets it's s-on or s-off status by querying the radio and asking for the "secuflag" (might be "secflag"-- just going off the top of my memory). Once HBOOT receives it's answer, it proceeds to either lock or leave unlocked certain partitions.
All this is to say that the only thing different between your phone and say, mine, is the radio config partition where "secuflag" is stored. The problem lies in the fact that on our devices, we can't access the radio config partition (as far as I know) to manually set that flag.
However, it is possible that just having a copy of your radio config partition could lead to some interesting discoveries in regards to where the flag is and what value it should be set to if we wish to try it on our phones.
Either way, it'd be great if you could stop by #htc-holiday and ping me (IOMonster) or IanWizard on IRC. What you have could potentially be a huge help to us-- or just a special bonus for you and you alone
Thanks!
I just pray this leads to a full s-off method. I don't wanna root my Vivid until s-off is achieved. Too used to flashing with s-off from my Inspire.

[Q] Elegancia 2.5 issues.

In a quest for a customizable ROM that was built upon ICS, I came across Elegancia's Pegasus, and I thought I would give it a try. To my horror, the ROM was incredibly UGLY (no offense) and I decided to reboot into recovery. As I did, the recovery page launched for about a split second before hitting the white HTC Screen of Death. So, I rebooted it, and now I'm stuck in an Elegancia bootloop that won't end.
And so my predicament: I can't recover, nor can I boot. What to do from here? Through the piece of garbage away?
nvm this
Schoutse said:
You can still boot into bootloader right?
You need to relock bootloader and run an RUU.
To do so boot into bootloader (volume down + power button), then choose fastboot and connect it with the cable to your computer.
On your computer run the fastboot.exe and type the command "fastboot oem lock" without the quotations.
Then find an RUU here:
Holiday RUU's
and choose one of your carrier.
Run the .exe and when its finished you have the stock rom again.
If you want to get a custom rom do all the steps for flashing roms again and unlock bootloader again.
I think this is how it works.
Edit: you will lose your data..

No need to do all that... Fastboot erase cache will fix the issue. Then re-flash your recovery and you are set.
^^
with what problem do you have to use the ruu again? i thought that was needed for bootloop :s lol

Unlock HTC ONE - Three UK

Anyone know how I can unlock my Three branded phone?

I'd like to know too, having hit the HTC Dev "sorry it aint going to happen" error message when transferring the code across to the HTC site. I've seen sites that will do this for money so I know there's a solution out there. After many years of Android and unlocking I don't particularly want to pay someone for something that should be public knowledge.

Can't say about UK, but my HTC One on 3 Sweden was no problem unlocking bootloader from HTC Dev at beginning of last week... Just wanted to clarify in case other swedes read and give up in advance... Find it strange that the same carrier would have different policys in different countries but fairly new to the game so I'm not sure.

I unlocked my 3 UK branded HTC one via htcdev
If HTC one is not in drop down menu
Then select other models option
This worked for me
Edit
Not sure if op means unlock bootloader, which is via htcdev as above or carrier unlock, to use a non 3 SIM, which is a different process
You will be emailed an unlock token that you should save, as this can be used to unlock your phone again should you relock

International ROM
Can anyone here give me simple starter instructions to reflash my vodafone htc one with international stock rom
I dont want a custom rom just a non vodafone rom form HTC, EU or World.
It is SIM unlocked Bootloader locked.
Can this be done without rooting?
Just switched form Samsung where it was easy to switch to a different rom by flashing without rooting...is there a similar way with HTC?

Thinking of changing form an Xperia Z with a locked bootloader - would you be so kind as to confirm whether the HTC One on 3 UK has a locked down bootloader? The XZ bootloader is locked down tighter than a duck's behind.

Is there any way you could help me understand why Moonshine isn't working for me? I'm on 1.08, unlocked bootloader, rooted, and I have CWM (not sure if the custom recovery matters). I plug it in with the OEM Cable and USB Debugging on as instructed. However, when I run Moonshine, it goes as far as Test 3 and then it starts running through several rows of dots.
Edit: Scratch that. I figured out that all I needed to do was turn off my Firewall. So, now that I have S-Off, how do I go about flashing it back to the Stock ROM/Recovery?

Since you have s-off I don't know why you want a stock ROM/recovery. Either the v1.08 or v1.04 zips will install with CWM (not TRWP last I tried). http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=Myst
