EDIT: Kameirus's post is what I meant by old news by the way

fix for this was already posted over here yesterday.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664265
and you might wanna check your buildprop now and see if it was changed ..cause most of those fixes changed the build prop to device gti9300

Thanks for the info..

download and check yourself before ranting...
I repeat...
inside this pack there are
LIB folder...
TTS folder
System/app folder
so it's not only a single apk...and in my opinion can be considered development...
you can say it's better in app section but it's not completely wrong here...
I don't understand why of this polemics
edit....Wanam opened his thread in hacking section....

It IS an app, therefore should technically be in the themes and apps section. However, I also respect that nobody looks in that section, but I still feel it should be in the Q&A at the very least. Maybe a link to this could be added to one of the stickies to make it easier to find?

well i just installed it and theres no difference then the one i posted
in the q and a section
except this one is 60mb bigger

Tbh voice search is not really a useful feature, but a gimmicky selling point. Nobody will ever use it in their day-to-day lives.

Who do you think you are to speak of whining post?
It's not my fault if you have problems with your life or probably a job where you get only orders and come to let off steam on xda.
3d was moved to app & themes!! And here's the winner!! Have fun with you winnings.
If I knew of all this pointless post before I would haven't given the news of the wanam's mod to hd2 XDA comunity.
My problem it's not where I've started the 3d or where moderators have moved it...
the problems it's that someone tell something to a comunity and nonsense teachers start a nonsense lesson completely offtopic on how must be started a 3d...this is the moderation part of a comunity...
in addiction, you read only the conveniente part of xda rules...
2.3 Flaming: XDA was founded as a group of people sharing information about certain mobile phones. Sharing does not involve virtual yelling (flaming) it does involve working together to solve problems in an environment of mutual respect and understanding. Losing your temper and flaming another member, or group of members, is not acceptable behavior.

*sigh* He is actually doing the work, hacking and developing software for all Android phones. What you have done is simply providing a link to a useful app. You are in no way developing. His fits the Android software and hacking forums as he is hacking the software, you are just linking us to a useful app. I don't know how much clearer it can be that you aren't developing. In any case, a mod clearly agreed with those of us who said it was in the wrong forum and moved it, so stop whining.

lol...I hope this will be my last reply for that...
so...do you think that a 3d must started here on there only because you are the developer or just the guy reporting for a development tool?
My point it's not wining,
This reply is rude and why? this one too...is not acceptable to behave like this even if you think something is posted in the wrong section...you can report to mods asking to move the whole 3d, but you can't be rude...that's all i'm complaining. Look at the result...2 completely off topic pages...
Reading aswers to this thread I felt like a thief and I have yet to understand why.
The end for me.

There's a reason it's called the development forum. I also find it rather ironic that the thing in your sig has 'post in the correct sections' in it Perhaps those responses were a tad rude, but it's more to do with the fact that you didn't listen the first time than you posting in the wrong section. I think if you had accepted it nobody would have said anything like that.

Hum mm after that discus without Any sense i have one question l, its possible add a portuguese tts?? I need this control voice in my day life

Ubuntu 10.10 runs on Galaxy Note. Most of the info below if from other threads. Credit to hollywood528 who has outlined the instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/t-1325250.html
Make sure your Note is rooted.
You will need to download "Terminal Emulator" and "Android VNC" all free from the Android Market...
Download the ubuntu.img, ubuntu.sh, and the ubuntu.sh.md5 file from here: http://downloadandroidrom.com/download/AndroidUbuntu/ubuntu.zip?token=282068876
Then make a folder named Ubuntu on your SD card and transfer them there.
Open up termial emulator and type "su" then hit enter Next type "cd sdcard/ubuntu" After that type " sh ubuntu.sh" (ignore the warning)
Then open Android VNC. Address: localhost ((or keep empty, it may work better for some that way))
Password: ubuntu
Port: 5900 ((if this doesn't work, try 5901 or leaving it blank))
BPP 24
You're all set!!

Personally, I love reading about stuff like this. Here's to hoping that Note is the new HD2.
Well this is posted in wrong section. If its not made by you then do not make thread about it. If you go to ubuntu site there is already a new update and explain how install on android. This is not note development. I hate reading this posts if its in wrong section.

The post is exactly in the right place. The remark that it was not for you was about the fact that ubuntu has nothing to do with Windows This is version of Linux and porting it to the Note is a great achievement. I also like to see the Note being the next HD2

dude do you even know what android is?
windows and Ubuntu is almost the same?
ever tried googling it before commenting ? believe me it will help you a lot in you quest for knowledge
android and Ubuntu are both OS that uses the linux kernel and sometimes it gives us the opportunity to port it ( ubuntu ) to a smaller android based device
doing so on the NOTE will be a great achievement duo to it's Gigantic screen and stylus that can come in handy when working with such an OS
P.s
stop being a hater , if we had more like you we wouldnt had any progress at all so cut it out!!!

You have NO idea what the hell you're talking about. How about you go back to the cave you came from. Setting up the loop mounting isn't easy, and is DEFINITELY supposed to be in this area as it is DEVELOPMENT related. Also, you clearly don't understand OS's at all. Perhaps you can tell me how to get 100,000+ Linux apps working in Android? Didn't think so. I have a use for this, and a tonne of other people do too. X11 forwarding is one BIG reason.

Also, you have a let me google that for you link, and you don't even know how to do a simple search about 'What is Linux?' 'How are Android and Ubuntu similar?' 'Why would anyone want to chainloop linux?' 'How to spell the word need?'

Well the 10 post rule is just like an adaptation period, so that the new members understand what's going on here and how things work, without giving headaches to developers. I'd advise you and your friend to go to any general subforum section and simply help people having trouble, instead of opening threads begging for posts and thanks. 10 posts isn't much.. I make around 50-70 a day without getting into the developer sections. Now if you follow what most n00bs do and start rant threads or posts like "this is my 8th post. Please ignore I'm trying to raise my post count to post into development", your posts will be deleted, your post count will fall again and any thanks you got for those posts will be lost. That's the way it works. Read the rules

A few words i have on my mind...

So i got a Nexus 7 so i'm kinda leaving these forums (Like you care ) Now, for "the words on my mind", the Android Development section in here is really messy, full of "WinZip" roms and a little tweaking, and don't get that angry about this post, if you would think about this, you would agree with me I know they are starting, and they are beginners but c'mon look at TheWhisp He started to learn by not posting any "WinZip" roms and just researched a lot and where did it get him? Being an awesome dev that's where it got him. Think about things that i said in here. And i hope you all farewell
Sincerely,
Netas3k
that's absolutely right! everyone can do it, but there's no reason to post those frankensteins here... i was doing the same, put some tweaks and apps to cm7, change few graphics in framework and systemui to my likings, center the clock, but i never posted anything like that because it's pointless...

that's absolutely right! everyone can do it, but there's no reason to post those frankensteins here... i was doing the same, put some tweaks and apps to cm7, change few graphics in framework and systemui to my likings, center the clock, but i never posted anything like that because it's pointless...

Yup, that's true. About 90% of stuff in dev thread is nothing but just themed crap which everyone can do yourself. Even I did some experiments and learning stuff but that's no reason for me to post some crap and say " This is my first ROM. I am learning right now. I added this ............ crap. Hope you like it. ...........................PRESS THE THANKS BUTTON."
Seriously I don't know what they get from this. I remember some guy recently posted Lunar UI ROM. (Totally useless. Just you need to add a theme and icon pack and you are done). No offence but that is really not worth saying custom ROM.
DQiB man. Irritating kid. First he spams the dev section with 6-7 cooked roms and now he posts a tutorial for others to spam the dev section :| even though he got banned, he should get an IP ban.

Maybe, this is the reason we got an "Original Android Development section". No cooked ROMS or ports are allowed there. Its all about "Build from source"
Yep, that's why XDA made the Original Development forums, but that wouldn't have been necessary if there were A LOT less of those "WinZip" roms, or even if there were none.

Hahaha! And he called his tutorial "dev" lol but there's nothing about developing in there
The development of Mini is rapidly dying now. The only good dev left doing real development is TheWhisp. Pretty soon the dev section will be dead.

Play with your S3 and why post in galaxy mini section if you don't have one? Period
that's not correct I was eagerly waiting for his tut
because i have a karbonn smart tab 1 which is having 0% development so I wanted to do some tweaking in the framework but now I don't think its possible
and yeah I agree posting roms with some tweaks in dev section is wrong

There are pro's and con's of this guide, good thing is it will help some new users to understand how android works and give them some starting point, the bad thing happened some time ago and it's those winzip roms with no significant changes

Yep, as soon as my contract ends I'm getting rid of this piece of crap and getting a better phone. Not only is Galaxy Mini a crap phone, but the dev section is full of crap too. All the good devs have left because they've got better phones now.

You shouldn't have to place all your themes in one thread. Don't listen to people complain. If a mod asks you to then I advise you do.
On that note, each theme can have its own thread. It makes more sense that way. Having a thread with multiple themes means multiple points of interests. You'll have a mess of people complaining or advising about one theme or the other.
You're doing it right.. Keep them separate for better maintenance.

The OP agreed with the assessment...no need to be the least bit negative in tone to a fellow user. 3 or more threads on the same theme are clearly not the suggested approach. Xda is pretty clear on this. The request was made in a condescending way (not you, but the user whom rather unkindly asked}, though.
Each theme could each get one thread perhaps, but the same multiple times, I think not.

The op agreed under conditions thinking he was causing trouble and inconvenience. But as we can see he is not.
Op has three or more INDIVIDUAL themes.
They respectfully deserve their own threads.
Its like telling a dev they have to place all their development in one thread.. It doesn't make sense and it will be a free for all

OP has multiple threads for one given theme.
One thread per theme is entirely understandable. Multiple threads per theme seems like overkill.

Hmm... I don't see multiple threads for a given theme. I see the same thread posted in different forums for various devices. Which is completely understandable.

So in other words, you don't see what you do see.
The same thread in two different device forums is the equivalent of multiple threads for the same theme. The OP has a few choices, including,
-->one thread for a given theme in one and only one device forum (in other words, keep theme A in Nexus 6 but delete the thread for theme A in the Nexus 5 forum),
-->to have one thread per theme in the general Android themes section,
-->one thread for all themes
Each of the above is warranted.
Identical threads for theme A residing in forums for both device A and device B is not warranted, as it is akin to spamming (see xda rule 5 for details).
I hope this clarifies.
Many thanks.

But I don't subscribe to nexus 5 themes & apps if I don't have the device. Therefore, if he removed the nexus 6 thread, I would never even know that it existed. If he is specifically supporting the theme for multiple devices & for the DPI of those devices, then there is no reason why he shouldn't have a thread for each device.
I used to theme also, and I had a thread for each of the devices I owned & was willing to actively support.
Besides, giving away a free theme. Why should it bother you.

From precisely where in this dialog do you infer from what I've written that this bothers me? As an FYI, it does not bother me.
As to why rule 5 exists, aside from the fact that this is a private forum (no one is forced to join), with an extremely large user base (millions); it exists to keep things relatively organized, to reduce redundancy, and to prevent spamming.
Many themes work on multiple devices, and therefore putting those themes in the generic Android themes section centralizes them.
I suggest that you take a look at the theme collections thread. There are many terrific themes you may find to your liking, none of which you'd find if you were to confine yourself to threads specific to solely your device (see link below for details)...

Done! Now we need to do some minor advertisement whenever someone asks a very general question, not exactly belonging to a ROM thread
Hey everybody, can anyone tell me what the heck is wrong with the xda forums lately? There are multiple things going wrong and some functions of the site dont work at all?
For example:
- Clicking on notifications in the top right corner doesnt open the received notifications, instead it opens this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/usercp.php
- Cant expand the names in a post to see who gave thanks, again opens a different page
- Options like attachments, smileys and all other options when writing a comment dont work (their not clickable)
Maybe there are more, but these are the ones i came across till now. Anyone having same behavior? or maybe it's just my laptop thats tripping... In any case its very much frustrating!

Everything Is Working Fine, Double Click On The Notifications Menu Will Show usercp.php Instead Of That Menu, The Fix Is To Click Just One Time, I Don't Know About The Others...
But You Can Try Between These Different Solutions :
Uninstall And Re-Install Your Current Browser.
Or Use The Old XDA Layout.
Or If It Always Failing, Try Using Google DNS.

About a months ago, I reported xda forum issues but never received a reply. If interested check here and here.
Normally, I don't use my GT-I9305 for visiting xda. However, due to your post I checked the xda functionalities by using the Gello browser that came with my ROM.
Everything is working as expected and normally except that the [view] button is missing to expand the thanks row to see who gave thanks.
For the still existing issues with xda on my laptop, please refer to the first link above.
