I was just wandering if there is a ROM which gives a windows phone 7 look/theme to the phone. I know that I can download launcher 7 and all, but I want a rom that changes all the standard apps (like calls and messaging and contacts) to look like windows phone 7...

I have jus spent 4 hours trying to get a version of windows live messenger to install and work on my phone.
I have just bought a MDA compact IV on t-mobile and it is running WM6.1
I've downloaded various files and some of the cab files will install but won't launch the app, and others just won't install.
Is there a version of windows messenger or third party app that will install directly onto a standard phone?
I been reading about changing roms ect, but could see a clear guide that would give me the confidence so as not to turn phone into a brick! I would prefer to leave phone standard for now!

can i ask you what did you exactly install to let messenger work properly.
I have exactly the same problems as you had, í've tried seferal versions off Windows live mobile, the latest one ( version 10.6.0034.0800 ) has messenger installed, but nothings happens when i click on the messenger-icon in "programs". Did you did a Rom update?

1. Can HD7 suft internet via computer using the USB cable ?
2. I download the software (not in marketplace), ringtone & picture, how to put in HD7 ?
3. Is it a must to unlock the phone and why ?
** Window 7 totally different with WM6.5, last time i using HD2 and can do anything as i mentioned at above but WM7 i cant do anything .... pls someone to teach me, thanks

Regarding your doubts, I can answer this:
1 - Yes, it's possible. When you connect your HD7 to PC you can sync emails, facebook and other programs except Xbox, Marketplace and Music&Videos. For those you must use your data connection or Wifi
2 - Use Zune software to syncronize music and pictures with your HD7. But attention, you cannot change ringtones for now. In the first upgrade from MS (January) I think that will be possible
3 - What do you mean by unlock? Operator unlock? I have an O2 UK unlocked and I'm using here in Portugal without problems. If you are talking about Chevron method I don't advise that because of MS policies.

From bought till now ...... few things make me trouble.
1. Cant typing chinese word in msg, need to use 3rd party software to make it .... sigh!!
2. Even install the chinese input but cant type chinese on MSN ...... DAMN !!!!
3. We know the msg & incoming ringtones cant change now .... WAIT for Microsoft updated ...... haiz .....
4. Now no many freeware to download .....
What i like is the OS .. CoOlllLL, Simple !!! Design of OS so nice ... This is wat we called ART .. lol And the sound quality is NICE

Hi all, I just purchased by very first Windows phone, the Nokia Lumia 630. I've been a loyal, avid Android fan for as long as I can remember. I've tried searching Google, but I haven't been able to find the answer that I'm looking for. I'm looking for a program for my Windows 7 computer to my Windows 8.1 phone to be able to send text messages and possibly pictures messages with. With Android, I've used Mighty Text and it worked pretty solid. I'm looking for a similar program to use on my Windows phone. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.
