Aroma?
It's a decent effort. However to be really useful it needs tick-box style interface to select just what you want to kill. Not everyone has same kill list.
I think just a simple batch file with appropriate adb commands would do the job. Easily user editable and all that. Extra points if you can keep apk list in separate file.

Great tool, thanks for the effort.
The remove/install/uninstall can also be done via Flashtool...
@Chaos: I (as normal user) will never start playing around just to setup the Aroma. And I don't think that Aroma installer allows you to remove apps....

It's not automated, is it? There's fair bit of apps to remove and if you test firmwares, doing it one by one gets old fast. I think I'll make a batch file to do same what op did but with my list..

I does not take more than 5minutes, as you start knowing what you need and what you don't. And you can also install, don't forget that...
But you are right and I said it is a good tool.

I tested it with lt15i fw 2.3.4 ver .042 but it not remove Bloatware,it say file not directory

Doesn´t work.
I atached a screenshoot....
I connect phone to my pc, then i start the tool. It reboots the phone, i press volumedown to get in recovery then it looks like the screenshot...

As I threatened, I made my own version of this tool with APKs listed in a separate text-file so you can customize what's removed as much as you like..
Very simple and nasty as I wrote it for my own use. Use with caution or not at all.

[ROM][DEV] LG Optimus Black P970 Gingerbread 2.3.4 V20N Repackaged

This ROM based from Official Gingerbread 2.3.4 ROM V20N Germany.
The nandroid backup are provided by N00BY0815.
This thread posted in DEV section (as suggested by Mrs. reinbeau), because we will have planned another cooking time with this ROM, such as deodexed apk/framework, themes, kernel, and optimization.
WHAT'S INSIDE
Reformatted ramdisk to use EXT4 EMMC partition.
default.prop setup to having rooted device ro.secure=0
Original and still completed APK and odexed, nothing changed/removed.
/system/etc/flex/flex.xml: FLEX_COUNTRY_CODE="COM" to be Universal.
build.prop: ro.product.locale.language=en and ro.product.locale.region=GB,en to be English.
Zero byte of busybox replaced, and the symbolic link corrected.
Increase read ahead buffers on MMC devices: 1024.
ISSUES
This issues found by myself, as my personal review, and not everyone might have it, perhaps it has normally.
Opening Gallery seems take longer, perhaps related with lots of files, photos, and screenshots, sometimes got FC. Even it's already closed, it make the system much heavy, and looks frozen. Forced to plug USB cable and adb reboot.
I don't know why when we choose ringtone/notification sound, it show the name twice, but actually the original audio is just one file.
...
...
HOW TO FLASH
This ROM is NOT KDZ. Repackaged as .zip and flashed via CWM-Recovery, so you should have Recovery before you can use it...
Copy files P970_GB_234_V20N_signed.zip to SDCARD
Boot CWM Recovery
Wipe Data/Cache (if not wiped, might cause problem)
Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache (same as data/cache, might cause problem)
Install zip from SDCARD
Reboot.

Is this official version of GB from LG? Can anyone tell me something about battery on this soft? Because I have to choose defy or black and battery is the worst disadvantage of black. :/

Switched back to CM7 #35, can't help it hahha... because i love themes. Also about the bugs i reported to you yesterday. I have a slim version for myself, with removed bunch of crappy apps and a little tweaks.
My connection is recovered up so i will reflash it again for testing.

[PORT][ALL ROMS] Xperia™ Timescape™ and SE Launcher+Widgets for GT-I9100G

Inspired by this thread: SE Timescape UI for P500 + Other Goodies, I've came up with the conclusion that with the necessary permissions .xml and framework .jar, apps meant for SEMC devices can be used in any non SEMC devices, including our beloved GT-I9100G...
Behold>>>
Xperia™ Timescape™ and SE Launcher+Widgets Ported for GT-I9100G (Any ROMs)
What's included:
-Timescape™ app
-Xperia™ Events app
-Timescape™ widget
-Timer widget
-Digital clock widget
-World clock widget
-Status switch widget
-SEMC On/off widgets
-Photos and videos widget
-Favourites and call log widget
Troubleshooting:
Remember to REBOOT after doing any changes...thank you...
1. Launcher does not appear:
- Download this View attachment Launcher.apk and install as a normal apk.
2. Timescape™ app is not showing anything:
- Be patient. It takes some time for it to sync with your phone.
3. I cannot add my Facebook account to Timescape™:
- Sorry to say that this happens in certain ROMs...I don't know how to fix it yet...Any solutions are welcomed...
4. The Timescape™ app and widget are showing nothing:
a) It takes some time for it to load especially when you have a long list of call logs and messages...If there's a blank screen, try tapping the screen and hit the menu button...also try hitting the "Refresh" button (available after you hit the menu soft key)...if there's still nothing, using a root explorer and navigate to /system/build.prop...check if the line "ro.semc.timescape_keys=Sony_Ericsson_Xperia" is present or not...if not, add it in manually and reboot your phone...
-Explanation: to add lines to build.prop, I used an advanced linux scripting command: "awk"...if your busybox is an older version, the command does not work...so you'll have to do it manually...
b) If all the above are still not working (e.g. Your Timescape™ is still blank), download this TimescapeSpline.apk and push it into /system/app and set permissions to rw-r--r-- and reboot...
c) If it's still not working, flash this Timescape_fix.zip via cwm... Hope that this solves the problem...
*If anything is not working please describe in detail...Do not leave a post that says "It's not working" and just leave it there as if it is never going to be fixed...How the heck am I going to figure out what's wrong? Please read through my posts for possible fixes and if there's no solution, please describe more about your problem...I've tested it on the device and of course I decided to share it after I'm confirmed that it works...why would I post something that does not work to get flamed? so if it's not working for you, please describe...Many complain that we "lack of love" from devs, but when someone finally took the initiative to do something for the community, please help out as no one is perfect...hope that everyone co-operates for a better development of our device...thank you...
**ATTENTION: If you are on a stock ROM, please go to /system/xbin and check whether a file named "awk" is present or not...if not, please use the method for stock odexed ROMs...thank you...
After installing, to make sure that things are really working, please go to /system/build.prop and check whether
Code:
ro.semc.timescape_keys=Sony_Ericsson_Xperia
is present or not, if not, please add it in manually and reboot...
Instructions (Install):
1. Download Timescape.zip from here: Downloads
2. Reboot into recovery and perform a nandroid backup (optional).
3. Flash Timescape.zip and reboot.
4. You're done!
**FOR STOCK ODEXED ROMS:
1. Download Timescape_stock.zip from here: Downloads
2. Reboot into recovery and perform a nandroid backup (optional).
3. Flash Timescape_stock.zip and reboot.
4. Go to /system/build.prop and add this line:
Code:
ro.semc.timescape_keys=Sony_Ericsson_Xperia
5. Reboot again and you're done!
Instructions (Uninstall):
1. Download undo_Timescape.zip from here: Downloads
2. Reboot into recovery and flash undo_Timescape.zip
3. You're done!
or (if you performed a nandroid backup before)
1. Reboot into recovery.
2. Go to Backup & restore -> advanced restore -> restore system.
3. Wait for it to finish and you're done!

I think I know what's showing "no service"...It's the Timescape™ app and widget right? ...Well, you'll have to wait for some time before it shows up anything...especially when you have a long list of call logs and messages...if it still doesn't work, using a root explorer, navigate to /system/build.prop and see whether the line "ro.semc.timescape_keys=Sony_Ericsson_Xperia" is present or not...if it is not present, add it in manually and reboot...hope it solves the problem...

[MOD][GUIDE]Modified S-PEN Shortcuts toolbar / Change Apps (CWM)

IMPORTANT: Flash this MOD at your own risk. I or the XDA assume NO responsibility for any failed flashes or bricked tablets.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
How-To change Apps in the S-PEN Shortcuts toolbar
I found, after a long time, a solution for change the Apps in the S-Pen Shortcuts toolbar. The toolbar pops up if you pushed out the S-Pen.
I don´t like and use some Apps like this stupid Game "crayon_physics" or Polaris Office...... first i have delete the Game but how i can get a new App in this Toolbar?!?
Now i have found a solution!!! And i want to teach you how you can do this!!!
First a few Screenshoots before and ofter the modding:
before (without the game):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
after modding:
So .... how can you change the toolbar? I have tested it only on a deodexed ROM!!
What do you need?
any APK Tool Manager for decombile and recombile, like this LINK
a Text Editor like Notepad++ (free)
your SystemUI.apk from your ROM
a cup cake and a coffee :laugh:
First you decombile the SystemUI.apk
Go to the folder systemui\res\values
open the arrays.xml with the Text Editor
Here you find this lines
Code:
com.diotek.mini_penmemo,com.diotek.mini_penmemo.Mini_PenMemo_Service
com.sec.android.app.snotebook,com.infraware.filemanager.FmFileTreeListActivity
com.android.calendar,com.android.calendar.AllInOneActivity
com.acrodea.crayonphysics,com.acrodea.crayonphysics.crayonphysics
air.com.adobe.pstouch.oem1,air.com.adobe.pstouch.oem1.AppEntry
com.infraware.PolarisOfficeStdForTablet,com.infraware.splash.SplashActivity
Now you need the packageName and the className of the App that you want to make in the Toolbar.
An example:
com.acrodea.crayonphysics,com.acrodea.crayonphysics.crayonphysics
packageName = com.acrodea.crayonphysics
className = com.acrodea.crayonphysics.crayonphysics
or
air.com.adobe.pstouch.oem1,air.com.adobe.pstouch.oem1.AppEntry
packageName = air.com.adobe.pstouch.oem1
className =com.adobe.pstouch.oem1.AppEntry
Now you can change the packageName & className with your wanted Apps and recombile the SystemUI.apk
Pushed the SystemUI.apk in a flash able ZIP or changed it in your ROM.
Here are a List of Apps that i have allready tested! If you have an other App please post the packageName and the className and i added it on this List!!!
Or install the ClassFinder App
Code:

Thank you
I have been looking for something like this.
Now, if we can just get it to be modified, on the fly (as an app and not required to be flashed in recovery), by specifying the apps you want to put in there....THAT will be cool and very, VERY useful.
Thanks for you hard work - appreciated.

[GUIDE][L3] Slim your rom TODAY! and get a flawless perfomance! for free!

So, what's up guys?
Since our L3 is a low end device, I started thinking on how to get things running faster and de-bloat our phones. So... I managed to rip CM9 to it's slimmest point.
What do I get by doing this?
- Approx. 45 MB free (depends on what apps did you delete)
- Faster boot
- Better perfomance (If you flash my slim gapps)
- Lots of free ram! :good:
Before you start, think that every app, every folder and every file that you could possibly delete, has a designed function. Also, this tutorial was written for advanced Android users. Proceed with caution.
Things we'll need...
- WinRAR
- Notepad++
- Our favorite apk's to replace the stock CM9 apps
- Patience
- A beer / Coffee (it's your choice :good

Let's-a-go!
First, you need a rom to work with. Download the latest CM9 nightly from here.
Got it?

* = Remove ONLY IF YOU HAVE ANOTHER APP TO REPLACE WITH.
X = You should REALLY remove this.
----------------------------------------------------------
* Apollo.apk - Music player
* Browser.apk - I Personally recommend NakedBrowser to replace it
Calculator.apk
* Camera.apk - Most Play Store camera apps doesn't support camcorder, so it's your choice.
X CMUpdater.apk - Cyanogenmod's update reminder (pretty useless)
X CMWallpapers.apk
X Development.apk - Dev's toolkit (useless for dumb users like me)
X DSPManager.apk - Just audio effects
X Email.apk
X Exchange.apk
X Galaxy4.apk
* Gallery2.apk - CM's gallery app seems to be very laggy. You can use QuickPick instead.
X HoloSpiralWallpaper.apk
X LiveWallpapers.apk
X LiveWallpaperspicker.apk
X MagicSmokeWallpapers.apk
X NoiseField.apk
X PhaseBeam.apk
X PicoTTS.apk - Text to speech engine (You should also remove "/system/tts/" folder)
X QuickSearchBox.apk - Search widget
SoundRecorder.apk
X SpareParts.apk
X STK.apk - Sim Toolkit (depending on you region, this is TOTALLY useless and annoying)
Term.apk - Terminal emulator (many people doesn't even know what is this)
X Trebuchet.apk - Default CM launcher. Laggy and less customizable. Get your favorite launcher. I personally recomend you Smart Launcher!.
X VideoEditor.apk
X VisualizationWallpapers.apk
X VoiceDialer.apk

0. [Optional, highly recommended] Get in CWM recovery and wipe cache, dalvik cache and battery stats!
1. Go to settings > apps > running and stop every app. The only things that you should have running are settings process and android keyboard, like this.
2. Then, tap in "show cached processes". A huge list of apps may appear, stop / close them all (except for your home launcher and android system's process)
3. [Optional] Use adrenaline boost script to free wasted ram.
4. [Strictly necessary!] enjoy your free ram! :victory:

Thanks for the tutorial mate!
When I first saw the thread's title, I expect slimming the ROM like those on ICS Slim ROMs (which only have 45-50MBs only), but after doing this, it only reduced from 120~MB to 90~MB.
30~MB is OK, I guess, but I think there are more useless craps that can be deleted out there...
Anyways, thanks again! Re-flashing my Modified Personal L3 CM9 ROM is quite handy now!
Why would this increase RAM/speed up the phone? You're just deleting a few files... I don't get it?
A lil bit,because the there things deleted which in normal case running in backround,i have noticed more free ram,30-50 mb more than before.

If you are using Greenify, you'll probably see those System Apps (like Voice Dialer) on system background, and it adds an additional RAM usage. Others, like the video folder and other stuff, are pretty much done to flash the ROM quite faster, I guess...? Oh yeah, and obviously reduces MBs for uploading... my guess again...?
I'm researching on that /system/src/srec/config and as of now I don't have an idea what it does that relates on the OP (Offline Google...?). So, can someone shed some light and share a link for that directory and how is it used?
There are a lot of apps that run in background, like Google Hangouts (aka Talk). No matter how many times you try to close them, they will start running again. So, if you delete those apps, you obviously will get free ram :good:
EDIT: Also, why would you have +10mb of android useless videos? lol

The update will not lead, because you have modified your phone. So if you want to version 1.32, you have to download a backup with version 1.32. But you'll lose all data.

In principle, intended for rom version 1.32.401.1. Rom has a changed user experience. Sense is deleted from the phone. Status bar is transparent with icons from KitKat. Ringtones and other sounds are also a KitKat.
This is ONLY an UPDATE, NOT a complete ROM.

oh .. AMAZING how much you removed..
i finally managed to unlock my bootloader and flashed cwm.
Now i'm going to try the ddk pack =)
A few months ago ive tried to provide a package like yours,but i only could remove about 25 Apps, you got all of my respect!
What should we do if we want to update our ddk with a newer version?

I do not know if I understand you. But all you need is to have a version 1.32 and install it in CWM.
So there is no need to install jason rom from first page?
Only download B5 and install *.zip or make recovery from CWM?
