Asphalt 6 hangs after upgraded from gb to ics. - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
Anyone here encountered this problem? I did stock ICS from stock GB with no wipe, just kies from pc. Should I do factory restore and reinstall all the application?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA

Hey dude don't do anything...
First clear cache partition in recovery mode...
Than turn on phone...
Download app cache cleaner from market...
Check if there any app using cache than clear all again... Again turn off your phone....
Check for ram.... If phone is using 400-500MB ram than you can play high quality games
Just start playing Now it won't hang....
Than again when you want to play game just check your phone ram if it's 600-700MB used than try to clear it... If it not go to 440 or low... Than reboot phone once ... now you can play the game again p
Sorry for bad English... I hope you understood what I said

Same thing happenning here, ICS LPY installed a few days ago
Game starts but after a couple of minutes hangs, phone gets very hot too.
I'm starting to think about going back to GB, and keep waiting for a new official ICS ROM.

Same issue here. App freezes after a couple of seconds of racing. Can't download it again without paying because I got it for free from Samsung app store.

Unable to play Asphalt 6 Adrenaline in captivate

Hi, I have a samsung captivate running in serendipity 6.3. I have downloaded asphalt 6 and also downloaded the extra download of 509 MB needed through my wifi. The game started with the initial graphic video and it automatically stops right there and comes back to my home screen once the start up video is completed. please help as i am a big fan of asphalt.
Well how did u download the game?
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
I'm pretty sure that game isn't available for the Captivate. It's not in the market for me or anything. The only place I've seen it is the getgames.apk from the Xperia Play.
I'm assuming you just "found" the apk somewhere and tried to install it, and that it wasn't a market release.
Yeah if that b the case. You might need the data that comes with it. Along without the apk and downloading the wiring data aswell. But. If you did get it online its considered warezz.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
i got it from 4shared.com. it did download the additional information after the game was installed
He got the additional DL, as stated in the OP. He's having issues running it, and... afaik.... it's not made to run on the Cappy.
Moved to proper forum.
I have it running and it runs slugish like it was runing in CPU mode and not hardware acellerated so you are not missing much.
Got it installed and running fine, not as smooth as the ipod/iphone,but still very playable.

What's up with Asphalt 6

What's up with asphalt 6 has anybody got this working. I hear mad people have problems and it force closes. It closes on me after movie intro
If anyone has it working. Tell what rom and if you did anything special to get it working.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
It works here as well.I'm running vs 3.1.1 and so far the only problem I came across are bad pixels but those seem to go away after I restart the map or in the worst case the game, but no crashing what so ever. U could be using the wrong vs.

Got it the same way as you,but I downloaded the game data sepratly.
Just to add that it worked even on previously flashed roms to like Continuum 4 and 5 and basicly all of the team phoenix roms.

Go to your installed apps in your phone setting DO NOT uninstall game, just clear game cache. Start Asphalt again, download should work.
Thanks brotha awesome. I will let you know if it worked

You're welcome, hope it works.I would try first with the vs 3.1.1 and download game data trough game and if thats a no go then try the htc game data
Also sry forgot to mention that on the first run u must be connected to the internet cuz it will validate the game for ur device, which might have been the reason why u got the crash.
so freakin annoyed. it just wont work. the game data was a no go. then just trying to download failed every time id exit every time and clear data and no dice. whatever. maybe i will try to find game data for galaxy s somewhere
Sry to hear, keep on looking and u'll find it.The other games from the link I had no problems with data download from within the game.I might zip it and then post it 4 you.But 1st keep trying.
You know that posting that type of thing is against the rules around here don't you?
Sry my bad, u can delete the post by all means.Allthough gameloft games are not present in the market and there was a iGO post as well.I let u decide, delete it if I was wrong

Samsung Stock Taskmanager

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know where I can get Samsungs stock taskmanager for CM 7.2 or at least one that works like it. I tried so many different taskmanager apps from the Play store but they all aren't good.
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda app-developers app
Firstly, Android 2.3+ doesnt need a task manager. However if it makes you feel happy I can find the Samsung one for you. People report it ruins your phone over time or something
Edit - Enjoy

Gingerbread has one that does it automatically. In app if you press home it runs in background and back kills it. Something like that. Google search task manager on Gingerbread.

Actually its a priority system, where apps u dont use for long get removed from memory automatically. The phone doesn't get damaged if u use a task manager, its just that ur phone will use more battery as it has to process that app all over again and ur loading time is ofc increased. But on mid - high end phones u don't need a task manager due to enormous amount of ram and fast processor. I do feel the need for a task manager cause i don't use my phone too much and background apps will drain my battery unnecessarily.
Edit: Here is a task manager. Just copy it to ur system/apps folder using a root browser and set permissions as all the apps present.
AW: Samsung Stock Taskmanager
Thx bro
I put your apk to /system/app and changed permissions to rw r r and now it works! First i tried this with wee0's apk but nothing happened But also thx to you!

It's actually 2.2 and above (a relief for my tablet at home), but the rollout will take a while, as engadget suggests. There's nothing wrong with wanting an early access

Download the 6.9 apk file
Uninstall Google apps by dragging the icon to the edit (turns to uninstall)
Go to the apk file ( i use es explorer ) and click to install.
NOTE: make sure to remove the auto update apps in the play store to keep it from auto updating Google maps.

Most recent version is 6.14.3 from Feb 20, 2013
This version is still the 'old' style, but the most updated version of it. 6.9.0 was from June 27, 2012, whereas the 6.14.3 build was from February 20, 2013. From the same website you posted just a different link http://www.androiddrawer.com/9559/download-maps-6-14-3-app-apk/
I have 6.14.4 in a Titanium Backup set. That was the last version I got from Google Play before the crap versions hit my phone. I'll try to find somewhere to upload it.

it's not a crappy app =/
the problem it's adreno libs, try to use nokia here.com in the browser and you will see artifacts.. we can't use the new adreno libs because it's needed a new kernel supporting ION memory manager.. actually android 4.2 is running using legacy support for adreno in the kernel, it happened to every phone using adreno 205..

How to prevent MAPS from auto updating
You can prevent Google Maps from updating to the new, crappy version by selecting it in Titanium Backup. When the window opens with Backup! Freeze! Un-instal! showing at the top, swipe to the left to bring up the SPECIAL FEATURES window, and in that window select Detach from Market under the Playstore/Market heading.
Voila. Even if you are set up for auto updates to all your other apps, Google will not auto update your Maps app after you have done this.
I've tried that. Works fine.....
Until you reboot. Then it's re-attached to the Play Store.

Could something else be making it show back up in the updates after a reboot? I always turn off auto update in the play store right after it's loaded on a new rom install.
After I detach from market it won't show in updates, buy shows up again after a reboot.

have you tried turning off update notification?
Not sure how that will help?
Notifications don't include it before the reboot, do after.
And whether or not notifications are enabled, the update shows back up when I go into play store after a reboot.
What I would prefer is a permanent detach, one that survives reboots. Is it possible?
