[Q] Has anyone tried the 128GB Micro SD card in their Z1 yet?

As the title states, now I know that our devices say that they support up to 64GB but I have seen other phones (a long time ago, Desire HD and the like) using memory cards they were never designed to be used with, just wanted to know if anyone had tried it and if so how did it go? Did it work did it make the phone any slower?
Sandisk has said that it's compatible but i'd just like to hear what people have experienced.
Cheers.

I highly doubt that it'll stay that price for long once it becomes mainstream, with 4K video set to become the standard over the next few years i'd expect people to be picking this sized memory card up soon so yea if you want to get in there early then 100 quid isn't that bad.
Bare in mind that the jump between iphone memory sets is £100 when a new one is released check the prices, 16GB 32GB and 64GB all £100 difference between them.
So not only would people pay this but they do already.
Not to mention that if you roll back time a little the 64GB card wasn't exactly cheap when it came on the scene.
Also this thread is a question, not a general discussion.
There's a huge difference between buying a 16GB-64GB phone, than buying a 16GB phone then buying a 128GB sd card, especially with kitkats limitations with sd cards

I don't know m8, i've been using foldermount for the really big apps and it's been superb up until now.
There isn't an app out there that I can't mount onto the SD with foldermount, not to mention the sheer amount of media that could be put on a 128GB sd card.
Plus if you've not used one then youre not answering my question either

I tested FolderMount and I agree with you, very good app! ..but I still prefer "Native" expandable storage.

I am so attempted to buy that card, and soon or later I will.
I have the card and is working fine. All I can say is that isn't fast. Max speed you will have is about 15/20 Mb/s writing(Rarely) as the Mobile Ultra. Honestly I prefer my 16 Gb Extreme Pro(I have had 104 Mb/s writing files).

Thats what I was after, thanks m8.
Do you happen to use the app folder mount? Have you noticed anything problematic whilst in use?
Cheers.

Haven't used that app. I don't know if you are rooted but I use sdfix and I haven't had any problems.
PD: I could try the app for you and tell what happens tomorrow. It's 3 am here...

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm merely saying that for the average user, anything more than a 32GB or 64GB is too expensive, and yes the price will come down, but then they'll develop 256GB, how long before we have terabyte cards? They already do terabyte pen drives but they're not affordable to the average user

If you re-read what I wrote I said anything MORE than 32GB or 64GB, A decent 64GB can be picked up for under £40,

Lol get some sleep mate, try it when you've got a few zzZZZzz's
I'll look into SDFix, it appears to be a very clean looking app, but as for the modification that it does, does it extend the usage of your internal memory or simply put the rules of the SD card back to the way that it was on 4.3 and previous versions? That's kind of what it says on their play store page.
If thats the case then it is different to folder mount which literally enables you to grab a folder from within your internal stoage and move it to the ext card then the previous folder can be deleted, 100% space back.

Yea you're right i'm not disputing that mate, i've already got a 64GB myself. Picked it up for £38 when they were just becoming mainstream.
All I wanted to know was what people experience was with them, I honestly don't care about the price or whether or not it's too big for some people, everyone's different.
Also I don't need to re-read your post, I read your statement, which was no answer to what I had asked, it was simply your opinion and of no help to me, sorry.
128GB SD-Card speed issue on 4.4.4
I bought my 128gb-card yesterday and I noticed a HUGE speed difference between android 4.3 and 4.4.4. On 4.4.4 it's EXTREMELY slow, but the speed is good on 4.3. Anyone else facing this issue? My Roms are: 4.4.4 - slimkat AMD (evo 9) and 4.3 - romaur 1.2.
Try installing pimp my z1 and change some SD card read ahead and some different I/o schedulers

How is the Nexus 5 on battery life for a LIGHT user? Many text messages, not many phone calls and I don't use data. If I do stuff on my phone, it is on WiFi. If that.

What was the first phone you ever used?

Hi guys! What was the first ever phone or device you ever used? Was it an Android, iOS or something else? Did it make you change your perception of the OS as more trustworthy? Are you still sticking to using that OS? What are your ideas?
89 Motorola bag phone... lol, OS?
Just a mobile phone with a real light keypad.
No OS here, move along...
Back in the late 1980s I did a few tests at my workplace with one of those massive shoe-sized mobile phones — name and model number totally forgotten.
The first phone that I owned was given to my by my son (probably when he upgraded), and I can't find it online. It was an old Motorola with memory for 20 contacts (!), text-only display, probably dating from around 2003 or so. OS? Did it even have one? It's main claim to fame is that it did phone calls and texts, and very likely it would still be working if it hadn't been dropped in water.
Then followed a couple of Nokia Symbian S60 phones (6120c and E-63). After Symbian was discontinued, I acquired an Android model and have used Android in one form or another ever since. iOS doesn't appeal (maybe because they are all priced out of my range) but I occasionally look to see if anything is happening re Linux phone development.
micromax a96 android 4.2.2
Used dumb phones, until i got an lg optimus 3d p920 2.2.2 android ten years ago, that phone is still working to this day exept the battery ,i currently use a redmi 8 phone
My first smartphone was some CDMA phone from Samsung and now I am looking to buy Realme X7 with Mediatek Dimensity 800U processor.
Sony Ericsson K320, when this brand still existed)
Galaxy Ace, great pictures memory was not the best but well it did the trick for a year or so
-My first phone was Nokia 1100
-With Android OS my first device was Samsung Galaxy Pop
-Used many Android devices (Almost every Brand available in India)
-At Present i am on OnePlus 7 Pro
My phone first use is oneplus one android 11 (before it was android 6.0.1 but I flash it to android 11).
My first phon was Nokia 1616
I have used my first phone in 2005 and my phone was a Nokia 6061.
Nokia 2100 lol
my first android: Samsung Galaxy Young 2 Duos TV (SM-G130BT)
My first was a Nokia 6120c - A feature phone, not a true smartphone, like what we have today.
