F.A.Q.
Q: Does this program work on Windows XP?
A: Yes, it works, but you will need the Service Pack 3 update and Microsoft .NET Framework 4. Some other bugs may occur on Windows XP that won't be seen on later Windows versions (Vista; 7; 8)
Q: Why the form flickers when it's being resized?
A: On slower computers, high-resolution background images can cause flickering. Set the background to some of the built-in gradients, or your own gradient, or a solid color.
Q: Boot Animation Factory doesn't even start. Help!
A: Please make sure your operating system is supported, and you have Microsoft .NET Framework 4 is installed on your computer.
Q: I get an error. Help please!
A: Please explain the error you get, or send an error report. I will fix any error if it's code-related as soon as possible.

If it hangs just cancel the process (with the cross action button) and try again. It seems to hang at first try on some computers.

No because this is stock theme.
Please note this is a Froyo ROM. If you are coming from Gingerbread, you need to flash a Froyo firmware first using Odin.

Great work Parasmi.
It's just one thing that I will ask you to consider : some apps that you included in the zip package. For instance, AFAIK Root Explorer is only available as paid version only. How could you manage to include it in your ROM ? I hate to see this great ROM turned into a warez ROM. And secondly, SetCPU, though it's free for xda-dev members, its' developer explicitly asked ROM Developers not to include SetCPU. You can see his post here :
SetCPU for Root Users [2.2.4] Undervolting and more 07/07/2011
Or I'll just quote part of his OP here :

ROM developers: Please do not include SetCPU in your ROM. I appreciate the work you're doing, but link to this thread instead, and I'd really appreciate it if you mention that SetCPU is available on the Android Market.
SetCPU is a CPU speed tweaking application for Android. More specifically, it allows control of certain aspects of the Linux cpufreq driver, allowing for overclocking, underclocking, or tweaking speeds and settings on many Android devices. It will work with most if not all rooted Android 1.5/1.6/2.0/2.1/2.2/2.3/3.0/3.1 builds on most devices.
The program is free here for XDA members. It costs 1.99 on the Android Market and available for purchase on the Amazon Appstore for users in the US.

I tried once, failed. Then I deleted the file from SDcard, copied it again but it failed again with same error... I was able to extract the zip correctly so I don't think the file is corrupt. Perhaps Latin and European devices are more different than we thought.

[EXT3] MiDroid V1 [20/2/12]

Hey guys, after making 4 themed Android ROMs, this time I try to port MIUI stuff into the ROM, I call it MiDroid.
What is MIUI? MIUI features a heavily-modified user interface that does away with the Android app drawer and having a very similar iOS UI look.
MiDroid having lots of apps and stuff from MIUI rom, and I had also include some Market apps to enhance your experience with MIUI build.
Direct ported apps from MIUI:
1. Analog clock
2. Browser
3. Digital Weather Clock
4. Gallery
5. Launcher
6. Music
Market apps with MIUI style:
1. EX Dialer (Smarter contact and dialer integration)
2. Go SMS Pro (Similar interface with MIUI)

* Features:
- Wifi Tether
- FULL Arabic support
- Fully call function ( Call and Receive )
- Able to install any apps (Won't show you 'Not Compatible')
- MIUI launcher and other apps ported from MIUI
- Launcher having lots of themes which are downloadable from internet
*For your information:
- Youtube can only play non-HQ video
- System will be slower when first time boot into Android:
--> Open all apps, sync your phone with Google, then reboot your phone
- There are two different system format for this build (EXT2 / EXT3), choose your desire format
- Due to MIUI official ROM is based on CHINESE, so there are some apps are in Chinese language
-Wifi Tether:
1. Install and launch Wifi-Tether
2. Go to "Settings".
3. Then go to "Change Device-Profile" and choose HTC Desire (GSM) and start tethering.
4. Without stop tethering go again to "Settings> Change Device-Profile> and choose HTC Dream.

Yes.. charging issue had been fixed by using Midnight's kernel..
If not mistaken WiFi issue also had fixed in midnight's kernel as well
I can't install this rom, I installed from Sd card, then run haret again and it can't start to Android, it just reset. I'm using energy 2.5 rom

This issue happened to me so many times, but it gone away now...
what kernel are u using??I think It's B coz of CPU overclocking,ur kernel may not work with all kovsky devices b coz f overclock, try to change the overclocking value in startup.txt ..
PS:I suggest u to use a lighter build like 826X,It's really fast and stable,I'm using it for more than 2 years,I know energy ROMs have so many cool apps,But if u really need a special app u can install it urself.....
Updated new link to high speed ftp server..
I have this problem with camera (attachment).
Can i fix it somehow? A kernel change?
And the Wi-Fi - i've followed the instruction, Wi-Fi was okey on MIUI,
but is it temporary (till restart) ?
Because after phone's restart there is Wi-Fi error again.
Do i have to enable Wi-Fi on Windows each time when i want to boot MIUI?
What about if MIUI was installed as primary rom, could i enable the Wi-Fi without Windows?
Anyway, thank you for the great job, system works, even sound and light near the buttons.
Aaah, almost forgot - any way to power up the ambient lights on the sides of the phone?
That is the feature i miss very much

REQUIREMENTS:
SAMSUNG DEVICE(Do not try it on any others!)
480 x 800 SIZE DISPLAY(Only!)
ROOT ACCESS
CUSTOM RECOVERY OR AN APP THAT FLASHES ZIP FILES
A FULL SYSTEM BACKUP(I can not stress this enough!)
I MADE THIS ANIMATION INTO 2 FLASHABLE ZIP FILES. One file comes with sound and the other does not. You decide which one you want.
HERE'S ALL YOU HAVE TO DO TO INSTALL IT:
1) Download the file you want below and put it on the root of your sdcard.
2) Boot into recovery.
3) DO A FULL SYSTEM BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING ANYTHING(in case you want to go back).
4) Select "Install"(to install the zip in recovery), then select the zip file and install it.
That's it. Easy!
Anyhow, this animation should work just fine on any Samsung device. If it doesn't for any reason, then you may have one of those rare Samsung phones that doesn't put the boot animation in the "/System/Media/" file. If you have any problems, then just restore from a backup(only if needed) and extract the files from the zip and just drop them into the right place manually. Make sure that their permissions say "rw-r--r--" before you reboot though.
NOTE: The first reboot after flashing will take a little longer than usual. This is normal. Android just has to process your new animation the first time, but if it hangs on boot for more than a few minutes the first time, then just pop out the battery and reboot and it will be fine.
HAPPY FLASHING GUYS! THANK YOU!!!

Hey guys! I had this great idea for making a boot animation of the Twilight Zone intro and couldn't help, but sit down and make it. I spent many hours on it making the images, formatting the animation and tweaking the timing and sound so that it looked right and synced properly on boot, so if you like it and you feel like buying me a coffee on here, then it would definitely be much appreciated. I worked hard at making it look good!

I flashed this fun boot animation with twrp and it works perfectly. I have not had a chance to flash rom, slim pickins yetm. I tried but the gapps zip wasnt complete. Tried to download it twice, once on phone once on laptop. So when the holidays wind down I will find differant link and flash. I will have to reinstall xposed, right?

Yeah, after flashing a new rom you will have to reflash Xposed. I couldn't get the OpenGapps to work either btw. Found another one that worked just fine though. More info here.

That's not from the animation. It's from Android. A lot of times you'll see that after installing the Xposed framework or sometimes you'll see it when you just have a lot of apps installed that start in the background on boot. I see it every boot myself since installing Xposed because my version of Xposed pushes Odex support on all my apps on boot, so the boot takes a little longer. Whether you see that or not could depend on the rom you're running too if you've got a custom one installed. If you don't have Xposed or a custom rom though and aren't sure why you're seeing that, then you can try downloading a startup manager from the Play Store and stop some of the apps from starting at boot to see if it no longer appears, but it is a normal function of Android to see that message and really nothing to worry about.

I don't have the files for this anymore to make it. You can try the smaller one though. It might work. Just be sure to back up the original first.

That would actually be quite a bit of work. You'd have to extract all the images from the qmg, resize every single one and repackage them properly into a bootanimation.zip.
Isn't this the bees knees...
I'll have to check it out!

3. Plug in your phone to your computer's USB port
4. Go to the ADB extracted folder where adb.exe and fastboot.exe are located along with some files.
5. Put the downloaded files onto the folder (check above the thread to see the mirror for the vendor and boot.img downloads.
6. Open the cmd by typing "cmd" into windows explorer path
7. Type in the following commands:
Code:
fastboot flash boot_ab boot.img
fastboot flash vendor_boot_ab vendor_boot.img
-- Let the installation slowly be completed.
8. Then type in this command to boot to recovery:
Code:
fastboot reboot recovery
When the phone is booting remove the cable quickly during the MI splash screen.
Tada! You have completed your AOSPA recovery installation!
"INSTALL CUSTOM ROM WITH .ZIP THROUGH THE AOSPA RECOVERY" (We are using Paranoid custom rom as an example) Alternative recovery for installation of ZIPs custom rom than TWRP.1. Boot into AOSPA recovery (Check above the thread to see how to get it) (If have then Press power button and up then when the MI splash screen appear unhold the power button and unhold the volume button once the recovery appears)
2. Plug in your phone to the computer through USB
3. Navigate the recovery by using volume buttons and press "Apple update from ADB"
4. Go to ADB folder then again open it with the cmd (Reference to step 4 and 6 from installation of AOSPA recovery)
5. Paste into the folder any custom rom for VILI or Xiaomi 11t pro that is bundled as .zip file.
6. Type in the command below:
Code:
adb sideload zipname.zip
--Swap the zipname before the .zip with the name of the zipfile you have inside the folder for the custom rom
--You may rename the zip file of the custom rom with something easy to type in.
-- Let the installation slowly be completed.
--Again, I am using paranoid android custom rom.
7. Once done the recovery goes back to the menu then select "reboot system now" (If your device seemed to get in a bootloop unplug the USB cable.)
8. If you are met with a problem on the recovery saying boot is corrupted go and select data wipe option.
9. It should reboot and eventually will give you the OS startup.
Tada! You have completed your custom rom installation!I suggest you install Magisk for some rooting utilities as they are quite useful.

As I am using it right now. It's purely similar to GSI just that the way it handled the volume is different. Camera is just the missing feature, other than that the camera on the rom still delivers the quality. You can check the credits that there is a link to the video skip to the part of when he installs it. The features are AOSP features, I don't find much to be buggy and normal usage is just great.

Depends on user's perception though, for me I find it faster and the sound much more fuller than using PHH treble audio driver and also the audio volume slider now have proper volume sliding. This tutorial not only give out the rom but also makes users think of installing any other too. I moved the rom here, because we can have more access for XDA people, and language barriers. Customs rom here are a rare goat to find for this device and also make sure that the worry for the custom rom maker to be lowered, then being reliant on some popular like TWRP recovery, the TWRP posted for this device have a bootloop bug.
