[Q] Bionic verizon store dispaly 5.991 - Motorola Droid Bionic

I was at the Verizon store today and the free Bionic on display had version
5.991 on it anyone familiar with this?

Many store demos have special firmware versions that show off different selling points of the device. That's more than likely all it is.

looking for the NFL apk

i switched to custom rom and noticed the nfl apk isnt there anyone know where to get it?
You should be able to get it off the market
looking at this question it seems dumb, but I'm glad it's on here.
I'm new to verizon and was wondering the same thing after I flashed eclipse. I remember looking for this on my evo shift and realizing it's verizon only.
Market

i thought the NFL Mobile, was Verizon only so i didnt think it would be in the market
It is Verizon only. Grab a sprint phone and search for it in the market. Its not there. Im guessing the market is carrier specific.

Spoofing carrier on Android Market

Obviously, my market shows Verizon apps and Wireless Tether for Root Users is 'unavailable on this carrier'. I am on cricKet wireless using CM7.1.0. My question is how to spoof this cricKet carrier on the marketplace. I'm thinking it has something to do with a build.prop-like file, but I'm not sure.

It would be easier just to get it directly from the developer...
Android-wifi-tether Wireless Tether for Root Users
Yeah, I got that already, but I'm building a Moto Droid cricKet ROM, and I want the market to download cricKet apps.

Edit your build.prop to this:
ro.com.google.clientidbase=android-sprint-us
Replace sprint with your choice of carrier

There's a much easier way now...
Just download "Market enabler" from the market. You can "spoof" as many different carriers and countries.
You're welcome

[Q] Mobile Hotspot/Tethering

I've been hunting down the newest info on mobile hotspots/tethering, but I only see info that has been stated as "old"... can't find the new stuff.
I want to be able to get WiFi to my Asus Prime from my Bionic. What's the best way to do this?
There is an app out there called android-wifi-tether. Depending on your carrier there is a version that will bypass the verison lockout.

Just make sure you keep an eye on your bill to make sure you don't get slapped with an extra $30.

(Q) Verizon Droid 3 on AT&T

I have the option of buying and unlocked Verizon Droid 3. I understand Verizon puts blocks on bands in the US.
My question is, is there a hack to get rid of this block? (like on the Droid 2 Global and Droid Pro)
If so, is there a tutorial?
Thanks in advance!

International roaming shows up on ICS

I am in northeast Pa. in certain areas when I power the phone off and power it back on a message screen appears saying you are on international global roaming and you have to accept or decline. Off course I check decline.
Has anyone else seen this
Bionic on 2233 ICS leak.
I've seen it on 905. That seems to be when it first showed up as I frequently am on the border with Canada.

Click to collapse
So you're able to roam in Canada?
Sent from my XT894 running ICS
CDMA is available in Canada so any Verizon phone will roam there.

I had the same thing happen on my bionic while I was in West Virginia. Called Verizon, they said it's nbd, and won't incur extra charges. I did record the conversation though. I'd suggest you do the same, out get it in writing.
