[size=+2]Download tool Here! [/size]
Code:
[center]
USAGE: CacheRipper.exe <cache.img> <output.zip>
[/center]
What id does?
- It takes a cache.img file and unpacks the cache inside it to widely readable and reusable zip file
What for?
- Current methods requires you to convert cache.img to ext4 format and then use some weird tools to mount it as filesystem and then you can see/unpack the contents, using Cache Ripper you simply provide two arguments to it which is cache file and output zip file and voila! after a blink of an eye you got cache file and you can read/modify it and FLASH WITH CWM!!!
as it contains all things needed to flash (including scripts).

Factory Condition

Okay, so let's say you want your phone to seem to a Samsung rep to have never been rooted or messed with in any such fashion.
What exactly, all in all, would you say you would have to do to get it back to such a condition after having been rooted?
I assume it is something like,
Reset the counter with a usb jig
flash original firmware
But it would not surprise me if there were other loose ends that could end up messing you up as well, so I thought I'd ask.
flash a complete firmware package. custom download counts are stored in the PARAM.lfs partition.
This should do it for you. flash once to enable the "Flash Bootloaders" checkbox then check it and flash again.
This Java JAR file works on Linux, Windows and Mac. Just have java installed on your computer and follow directions (if any).

First of all, Make sure your phone is rooted, and has CWM Recovery. (If not, find the instructions here)
Download it, boot into CWM Recovery, click on Install zip from SDCARD, then reboot, and the phone will boot on the boot animation you downloaded.
works perfectly! thanks!

[MOD] Creating custom splash screens. {Linux BASH script}

After hours of looking for information on changing my boot logo/splash screen I was finally able to put together something helpful for anyone else in the same boat. I wrote a bash script and bundled it with the necessities for quick and easy modification of splash screens.
Included in the attached zip you'll find:
convert.exe Copyright (C) 1999-2012 ImageMagick Studio LLC
nbimg made by XDA user pof
fastboot.exe from Android SDK
spla.sh written by myself
Instructions -
Using your favorite image manipulation tool (e.g. Photoshop, GIMP, Pixlr, etc.) create whatever you want as your boot logo. Save the image in the same directory as the included files. Using the terminal of your choice navigate to the directory you extracted the files to and run 'sudo ./spla.sh' the rest is self explanatory!
As I was messing around with this a bit more I noticed you may need to 'chmod +x nbimg' if you get a permission denied message.
DISCLAIMER: Use this at your own risk! I take no responsibility if you brick your device.

Any specific error you're getting? What's the device you're using? Do you have adb/fastboot working otherwise?
Working on any device?

Should work on almost any Android device, if not all Android devices.

Bricked my CM G1, need to flash in QPST or miflash?

So I bricked my CM android one 2nd gen and it's not booting up, I can only see boot page like forever.
How did I come to this?
I cleared the cache in recovery then it somehow corrupted the /cache folder.
What I forgot to do is I did not enable OEM unlocking in settings so I cannot flash anything in flashboot and adb.
I'm stuck because my phone is
1. Not rooted
2. Bootloader locked
3. No custom recovery
4. Stock Android
What I plan to do now is to use the QPST or miFlash, I have already installed the necessary drivers and I can see my phone detected in download mode (using COM port)
My problem is I don't know where to look for the files needed. Or I'm not sure if these are the correct files I need because I just got the screenshot from other qualcom based phones. But I want to try it.
