[Q] What happened to the other AOKP thread? - Galaxy Tab 8.9 General

I was loving galxian soup's aokp until nycbjr let tommrazek01 take over and start a new thread. Tommrazek01 has never been able to get his links working correctly and hasn't updated his forum downloads ever... So I downloaded the other teams AOKP rom just a day or two ago and I am loving it but their forum is gone. Logged on to thank them but gone! What happened to it? Sad to say but I don't even remember the teams name. Any info on who the team is and why their forum is gone would be appreciated. Also Team Broccoli makes an AOKP rom for the 8.9, I am running team broccoli's aokp on my touchpad and I'm totally love it. Here is team broccoli's homepage if you want to try it out http://pcb.team.broc.co/li/aokpcb I haven't run in on my gtab yet but its fantastic on my touchpad and wanted to gives this other AOKP a run first. Looking forward to info on who made this AOKP and why their thread was deleted.

thats exactly the thing.
the other team you are refering to is safariking and he wasn't really a team!
he took the OFFICIAL and ORIGINAL aokp rom and just added one or two apps. thats all.
you can still get the fully functional and up to date AOKP rom for 8.9 and 8.9wifi over at
www.aokp.co
works perfectly!
the threads were deleted because our developement forum got too cluttered and people seemed to think that safariking actually developed or did some serious/noteworthy work on the AOKP rom although he just softmodded it.
credit where credit is due!

Well that makes sense thank you for the info. I decided to go to team broccoli's aokp and I'm absolutely loving it. They need to start a thread in the gtab 8.9 section. Great stability and nice customazations. I highly advise giving it a go ^.^ link to their site in my 1st post above.

[Q] hope i don't get flamed for this question...sorry if i bother anyone :\ :|

i actually have a very small question. am new to this forum and wish to know if our optimus black has any dedicated developer (like knzo) who is trying to port or make ROMs for the BLACK???....
i had an x10 mini b4 and i sold it to get this cell. now even the x10 mini (with it's paltry specs) has a working ICS build and i have a "cake on my face" feeling
i had a talk with MIUI about the support and they told me that our cell will get support by Q1 2012.
but as said, i was fancying a RAW UNCUSTOMIZED ICS flavor for our black...now, am NOT trying to create a spam thread about ICS or a hate thread about LG...
i just wanted to know whether any dev is working with our device??
P.S. - please don't kill me for asking this question.
i asked the admin for a dedicated "Q&A" forum, but nobody backed my request
waiting for your replies
Ricardo is our CM9 dev for LG devices.
this is his google plus:https://plus.google.com/115049428938715274412/posts
I dont think we have a dev for ICS ROM in XDA....
But aprold and knzo should be continuing Nova kernel from CM7 to CM9. so we just have to wait for Ricardo to finish his job!(i think still have some bugs left and camera not working)
EDIT: i think the only working ROMs we have are knzo's Nova ROM and Pay's ROM....and for kernel is Quasar kernel done by knzo and currently what i am using now CM7 #20 with knzo's Nova kernel for CM7(but the current dev has been transferred to aprold both of them are working together!) LG devices are kinda cold(i donnoe about LG O2X though pretty popular) so its not surprising to see that we have not much devs. LG peeps have been telling us that we will have our hands on official GB by November this year but i think none of us have the official GB on our phone yet(they fail in promises) that's why we are using CM7(GB) and waiting for CM9(ICS)

+1, rick is the man

Well we do have some senior members helping us on a number of occasions ranging from simple theming, modding and giving little guidance every now and when up to getting overclocking kernel , but only exclusive dev working on ics rom is Ricardo.
But hey till we get our basic requirements being helped, i 'm satisfied with that; and who knows any time a new dev could be coming just like aprold with kernel project and temasek with cherrypicked kangs... So, i 'm happy.
You can see my signature, i 've thanked a few of senior members in our forum here; a little gratitude from my side.

yes...i have seen his profile in G+, thanks for the lead.
now, for those who want to gain some knowledge about porting or making AOSP ROMs,i have found a nice little tutorial for them...it's very juvenile and lucid. all you need is to run linux on your workstation. as of me, my idiot idiot brother formatted my workstation along with EVERY single DOCUMENT of mine!!!!
and am on an agonizingly slow bandwidth so cannot d/l ubuntu over again along with other necessities. i am uploading the pdf for your reference (if any1 of you are interested, that is)...all you need is ubuntu, VM/cygwin, git/source, patience and time there are loads of other guides if you are actually wanting to port a nice rom(or even thinking of making one)
(now, making a good, flawless, working ROM requires good knowledge about android and developing skills, yet u can give it a try )
once any1 starts the project and get stuck, post the work in DEV section and hopefully some of our knowledgeable senior members can take the lead
happy trying

Possible MIUI4 rom in progress

1st time development post, w00t. But anyways, I googled Droid 3 Miui and a link came up to the DROIDhive development site. It looks like some guys over there are working on a possible Miui4 port to the D3 and, as all of these things work, our assistance would probably be appreciated. Go check it out!
[EDIT] got the OP links from rootzwiki and droidHIVE
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/19702-miui-kangport/
http://www.droidhive.com/forums/index.php?/topic/116-miui-foir-droid-3/
It is up and running over there and on rootzwiki also.
It works, has a few bugs but it definitely a big step in the right direction... woo-hoo
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA
Excellent work! Don't start a small lamp))))
The battery charging strongly leaves.
New version up on Droidhive... http://www.droidhive.com/forums/index.php?/topic/116-miui-for-droid-3/
Running the first one listed now... nice.
Wipe everything and install according to OP.

[ROM][ICS][NIGHTLIES] AOKP for the Samsung Galaxy S III

Hello guys!
Netchip have succeeded in porting AOKP to the brand new Galaxy S III .
Netchip haven't much time now, so no screenshots for now.
Basically this is just AOKP with a few mods here and there, nothing big *yet*. Thus, if you want a screenshot, google a random screenshot of AOKP ;-).

Awesome news! My phone will be here this week. Very excited. Maybe work with task over in the i777 forums as he has been maintaining his own unofficial aokp for a while. Runs buttery smooth

Fantastic job. I was one of the people testing this with netchip Great job, seems really stable.
Is there anything that doesn't work? Or everything works like its meant to well mostly everything. What i mean is when aosp threads usually have a list of what works and what doesn't . I will be trying out anyway jw

Differences between MaclawStudio/NovaFusion MODs

Hi all!
I'm currently using the CyanogenMod 11.0 on my Samsung S3 mini and I'm happy about it :cyclops:
But, I'm also curious about the other MODs and I'm trying to find out what the differences are between the most popular ones.
And because I don't want to flash my phone a zillion times, it would be nice to compare the features of the MODs before installing one of them.
Would someone be so kind to make an overview of differences between these MODs:
CyanogenMod
Android Open Kang Project
PAC Android
Chameleon OS
SlimROM
Carbon
Thank you in advance !!
Greetings

Cyanogenmod = daily usable for everyone, only few settings for customizing
AOKP = highly customizable, you can change almost everything (in my opinion just for pro´s)
PAC = also very customizable but more userfriendly with some cool features, i realy like it. Latest release is having trouble with heavy flickering, so don´t use until it´s solved.
ChamOS = Tested it, too much bugs. I guess it´s abadoned.
SlimRom = CM in black
Carbon = daily usable, stable, with more customization setting like CM. I´m fan off it.

I have found already some links. Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2605163
Just like you, i use CM11. I've always been wondering about Carbon though. People keep talking about it all the time. I'm thinking of trying it.

As we all know, Post´s about "which Rom is best" and that are forbidden. But I tried all of them, comming from CM to another Rom Carbon is definetly a good choice Have fun!

I'm waiting for the next CM11 release to see if ART is fixed. If not, i'll switch to Carbon and give it a try. Thanks for the advice though :]

Bliss ROM: why closed thread and is it good?

Hi, I am looking for a new ROM for my Mi Mix and thought that the Bliss Rom looks the most promising to me.
However, the thread has been closed by the author, @heindrix and moderator @gregbradley without explanation.
Anyone knows why it is closed and if the ROM is a dead-end?
Thanks!

Hi there,
It's glad to see that somebody still wants to use the rom i maintained some times ago.
Unfortunately i've been so busy in my job, and well i've switched device to OP6T, that's why i decided to close the thread down to prevent any long wait and further disappoinment for never-ending wait.
Last time i checked the Bliss Rom source, they already updated and patched many things i've done before, so i can tell you that the source already very dependable.
All you need is another dev to cook it using Lineage Tree, and all will be good. :fingers-crossed:
Thank you so much for your answer @heindrix!
Still, even if it is not the latest source code, is your latest build stable enough to be used day-to-day? The comments look good and there does not seem to be any major bug (like the proximity sensor, for example).

if i remember, the last build fairly good but can be improved. last time i've build the new update but i've deleted it and forgot to post it, lol.
i suggest you use rom build by inkypen. :fingers-crossed:
SyberiaOS I suppose? (there are at least two)
So, I actually tried first to install Bliss and it is so nice that I don't see any reason to try another one! Thanks @heindrix !
Maybe there is something I am missing about what can provide an actively maintained ROM?

yeah, actually the rom from Bliss Team is very nice, it's full of features, and it's still my favorite team until now.
you can learn to build the rom and maintain it, there's so many tutorial and threads and telegram groups that will help you learn how to build a rom.
