[Q] URGENT: Network Unlock - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have had my phone rooted and am using GingerDX v022. I have changed my baseband to 015.
I applied to get my netowkr unlock code off my operator and they sent it to me. But when I tried to enter the unlock code, it would not accept it. Has this got anything to do with the fact that I have changed my phone?
If so, how to I change it all back?
Thank you.

ummmm what do you mean changed your phone?? what phone did you request the code for??? codes are only meant for the device that you requested it for.....if you mean rooted, mine was rooted when i put the network unlock code in, did you write it down correctly??? you can ask them for it again, it will be on they're system

Changed my phone as in, new rom, baseband etc. I was on the phone to the company, and double checked the code was the right one, which it was. They told me if it didn't work I'd have to send it away to get flashed.
I then assumed that the rom/baseband/root hace somehow interfered with my unlocking process.

swap your kernel to stock, and go back to stock OFFICAL rom, and input the code...i had to do that for the X10 mini pro.

Okay, thank you so much for the help. Would you be able to tell me how to do those two things? It'd be a great help as it'd been a while since I've done this kind of thing. And where to get them?

flashtool for flashing kernels etc http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=986697
and the thread for reverting etc
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425240

Just a fyi in case you have a similar issue next time.
This kind of queries are to be posted in the Q&A section instead of the General section.

Which do I do first, the stock kernal or stock rom? Do I need to change the baseband back?

Using Flashtool or SEUS or PCC will restore both stock rom and kernel simultaneously.
As for baseband, try with 015 first, if it doesn't work try 006.

Technically it wouldn't, but if it does, just network unlock again.

Okay thank you so much for the help. And in future I will post this in the proper section.
Do I just download the stock 2.1 Eclair ROM in this topic (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425240) and and flash it using Flashtool or SEUS and then I can enter my code?

you WILL NOT lose network unlock, and not flashing stock BEFORE using seus has been known to brick phones. hence me saying flash stock kernel 1st. you can download the 1.6 version which i know 100% is in english, the 2.1 isnt in english and is pain in the ass
this is the 2.1 you want for flashtool

You have to flash it using Flashtool...
That's about it, afterwards just enter your code.
If it doesn't work flash the 006 baseband and try again.
Btw, hitting the thanks button is more appropriate than posting thanks.

no no your not the 2.1 update is because it aint 100% english yes you can flash BOTH using flashtool. either the 2.1 update i linked OR the 1.6 at top of the thread

Ok! Which one of these files is the stock kernal though?
It's confusing.

sorry i was meant to say, you can flash the big download INSTEAD of the smaller one to revert, they include the kernel if i remember rightly. but this is stock kernel
http://www.mediafire.com/?ei7ecyzf5wc48qb (small one JUST kernel) i tend to flash that one to be on safe side BEFORE reverting to stock with the 1.6 or 2.1 big download

Step 1: flash this http://www.mediafire.com/?ei7ecyzf5wc48qb
Step 2: Pick your poison between the 1.6 or 2.1 download
Step 3: INSERT a simcard thats not meant for your phone in
Step 4: Insert the code
Step 5: you should be unlocked

Short answer......yes
Long answer............
please do some addition before publicly looking for answers.
1 Stock= factory, unmodified folders
1 Root= added files into system folder, xbin folder and xbin folder, modifying folders
*Root needs the files in those folders
1+1= ????
If you take this the wrong way, sorry but please my post here is too show, that reading up on this is mostly highly advised. Questions like this/these will be eliminated.

Yes, I confirmed that it counts this stock ROM as additional custom firmwares. Now my tab lists 3 custom firmwares so far
Ya, the dose odin keep track of the different firmwares, however when the odin rom is flashed the number is 1.

I searched and people told me I have to flash stock again, and that's why I am searching my original stock ROM

To unroot, flash the UnRoot-i9001-signed.zip
To go back stock recovery, flash the 9001_stock_recovery-signed.zip
Don't want to do all this, simply download a stock ROM that suit your region and flash with Odin 4.43 or upgrade your firmware by Samsung Kies.
All of the information you can get it from the Wiki page
Search from there I think all the information that provided in the wiki page is more than enough and easy to understand.

Have you search in SamMobile Firmware?I found one,it have same PDA as you and the build date is September 2011,for more information you can check in SamFirm page.BTW,here the download link : http://www.hotfile.com/dl/156719871/41e0c70/I9001XXKI2_I9001SEBKH1_SEB.zip.html
I found it, but the CSC is not the same. Btw is CSC important to be the same?
I don't know,i still new to android & samsung rom.I think PDA is more important:silly:btw, only this rom has have same PDA as your.
CSC is the Country/Carrier Specific Code (not sure exactly which it is, both kinda make sense). It contains the files for customisation for specific networks, so will have the APN settings, maybe custom ringtones or backgrounds, and can have programs too. Some CSC files contain a lot more than others, hence the file size differences.
Mixing different PDA/PHONE/CSC files is certainly possible, although it might be best not to stray too far on the PDA and PHONE side. The CSC isn't really very important in most cases - at worst you'll probably just have to set up the APN manually

[Q] Unlock bootloader to flash new rom?

Hey guys!
Found my old xperia x8 and i wanted to flash a new rom.
rooted it and installed xrecovery.
do i need to unlock the bootloader to flash a new rom?
Or just for the kernel?
you unlock your bootloader to flash a custom kernel. Some roms are for stock kernel and others are for customs. What rom do you want to install? Also you maybe will need cwm and not xrecovery.

Yeah I cam vouch for that, find the ICS tft, if you look on the stickied topics at the top of the q+a section and use flashtool you will have no problems going back. Once you read it make sure that you use the .195 generic and then once booted do the ota. 233 . Format the phone once installed and all good.
Best of luck mate, there is plenty of people doing it at the moment until they bring out bug fixes for jellybean.
Any problems get in touch.
