[Q] ICS Transitions and Gingerbread 3D Launcher - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm looking for some serious help.
ICS Transitions:
True that these days Devs are coming with good ROMS but it hurts to see that they're destroying their hard work by porting some unwanted apps or modules of different ROMs!
I loved Mini CM7.2 by nobodyAtall but those ICS Transitions are something that I cannot stand for!
I want to know if there is a way to remove those.
Stock Gingerbread Launcher with 3D App Drawer:
Also I'm looking for a Stock Gingerbread launcher which came with Nexus S for x8. The one with 3D App Drawer.
I already tried the one that is available in the Market but it's going out of screen area!
Thanks in advance
A.

Thanks for the link mate. But no 3D app drawer.
In fact I have that plane one already!
Cheers,

LauncherPro maybe? It has 3D app drawer option and you can customize it to look almost as Stock.

[Q] How do I can hide an application with gingerbread?

Hi everybody
I like the Froyo ROMs, with this ROM I used the Hidden Application section to hide some applications of the eye of anyone, but I am testing with gingerbread and I do not see this useful area. Does anyone know if it is on gingerbread or was removed on this new ROM? or How do I can hide an application with gingerbread?

Hi back, I presume one the Froyo, the Launcher was LauncherPro. That is why it has the "Hidden Application" section.
This Launcher can be installed easily from the Market ( some other recommendation such as ADWLauncher , Zeam Launcher etc )
Default Launcher in Froyo&Ginger, doesn't support hide application directly, if I'm not mistaken. Hope this helps

Thank you very much I will try with a new launcher thanks again.

Modded GS2 TouchWiz 4 Launcher by Fr4gg0r.

Fr4gg0r from the Samsung Galaxy S I9000 forums has modded the TW4 launcher for other roms, testing actually works nicely for our phone and Android 2.2+ I would assume.
So if you have wanted to try Samsung's launcher TouchWiz4 on the Galaxy S2 here's your chance found here plus photos and updates:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061883
Has some very nice surprising features if not a tad iphone like in some ways, extremely smooth - it's the smoothest launcher I've has seen yet besting even LauncherPro.
All credit goes to Fr4gg0r for his work.
Easy way to install is thru CWM, install from zip, select zip to install. It wont copy over any files, dependency is libglcanvas.so found in the zip, if you have an error make sure this was copied to system/lib folder.

Really neat launcher with a lot of features.

TW 3.0 - TW 4.0 is a good Launcher "but" uses a huge RAM also resources
still best uses Launcher Pro or Go Launcher
i used Arc Launcher on O 2X and it's smooth also have a nice effects on transparant
"i'll try it on O 2X now " report next
Yeah I've also been using the arc launcher, really like the effects and features/skin of the 1.1 modded version.
TW4 is not to bad for a different style tho.

Huexxx's CM7 Stuff ...

Hi all!
Let's begin with the CM7 stuff with a must-have IMHO.
* AOSP Launcher2: Intended to those who wants a AOSP taste, to replace ADW Launcher with AOSP one. This launcher is sensible to theme modifications, so its images will turn cyan if we apply Cyanbread CM7 included theme. It's a repack for OB from frank707's CM7 GB Stock Launcher (cyanogenmod forums).
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4629711/cm7/Launcher2_OB.zip
http://www.4shared.com/file/roESDHMi/Launcher2_OB.html
* Super AOSP Launcher2: Intended to those who wants a AOSP taste but with improved capabilities, to replace ADW Launcher with this AOSP style enhanced launcher. This launcher is not sensible to theme modifications, so its dock icons will remain at its original colour. It's a repack for OB from fabolous's Super Launcher2 for CM7 (rootzwiki forums). It features according to the author Extremely fast page scrolling and 3D app drawer, Customizeable hotseats (number, style, bg) and Auto rotation mantaining the AOSP flavour.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4629711/cm7/SLauncher2_OB.zip
http://www.4shared.com/file/E0cfVXmn/SLauncher2_OB.html
To install this stuff, just reboot into CWM and install zip from sdcard.
Regards.
After try both launcher, I stuck at normal AOSP one.
Regards!
Lol, can you port miui style launcher?

What if I extract Launcher2.apk and install it like ordinary app? I just don't want to reboot recovery
Thanks.
It should work. Try by yourself and comment...

Installing Super AOSP Launcher2 apk, and wow it works.. hahaha
Thanks Huexxx.
Really love the normal AOSP launcher but i've spent the last half hour searching in the phone for the settings for this launcher.
Or there is no way to customize it?
No way to customize AOSP launcher AFAIK.
I thought so... ended up with Go Launcher for now.
Hi all!
I've updated first post with alternative download links.
Regards.
Huexxx i don't understand
what is aosp launcher? is the stock launcher from 2.2 distributed by LG?
AOSP launcher is stock Android launcher.

This stuff based on Gingerbread, the stock is still based on Froyo. You can try by extract the zip, then install it just like regular app/apk. If it doesn't work, you can remove it, or it will be removed by itself at reboot, because this is apk system.
-CMIIW-
^
It didn't worked.
how to i get back to the original launcher by CM7?
If you didn't uninstall it, go into the settings, go to applications, then choose you're current launcher and clear default actions of it. Then, pull led home and it will ask for which launcher you want to use.
I'm not sure its clear enough since my phone isn't in english. :S

[Q] TW 2.3.6 & CM7 problem (?)

-after restoring apks with titanium, I can't find TWLauncher!!!
-after factory restore, TW is there...
I.m really confused... anyone?
Thanks button will be pressed
P.S. if anyone can share a TW 2.3.6. apk (home screen endless loop) to work on cm7, apreciate!

Ive got some twlaunchers but they are tw4 moddified
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
I.ve tried those, but they don.t work. At least not the ones with endless home screen loop.
I know your work, you.re doing a great job .
Do you have an answer why with factory reset, the system finds the tw, and after that, not?

You can't use stock TW launcher on CM7, because CM7 don't have tw-framework. You can try to find some ported TW launcher, like this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1324850

By "endless screen loop" you mean something like infinite scrolling? Pretty much EVERY custom launcher has it, why just don't try? I can say that almost all customized launchers are better than any stock launcher, like TW. I suggestion Holo Launcher, take a look into it.
I know. But you know the problems with ace ram memory... i.m using xperia homescreen wich is awesome. The only one without lagg.
I thought that tw, beeing optimized for ace, will run smoothly. The 2.3.4 version is ok, but i would like that "infinite..." from 2.3.6.
It.s an obsession )
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
In fact, TW is one of the most RAM-hungry for me. I know that being made by Samsung gives the impression that it is better, but just think that some much more powerful phones don't run touchwiz properly, at least Samsung says. You can remove the TW launcher after you've found a nice other launcher, so you don't need to worry about RAM.
