[Q] Device freezes up for ~20s on application crash - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Note freezes up whenever an application crashes, for about 20s. Here's some logcat output for when this happens:

I've got GO Launcher as the launcher here, which apparently did the ANR, but exactly the same thing happens with the stock twlauncher. I don't think the launcher is at fault here, but I don't really know. This is extremely frustrating when developing apps, obviously. Does anyone else get this behaviour? I'm on XXLPY, no root, never rooted, only stock roms. Any help?

WiFi problems

When I try to turn on wifi it says turning on wifi, than "connect" and than -"unable to scan for networks", sometimes with message "Application Settings (in process com-android-settings) is not responding" and disables wifi.
When I bought my used n1 the guy that sell it to me said that he's rooted it and flashed Cyanogen and wifi stoped connect. After that he flashed it with Froyo FRF50 and WiFi worked again. About week ago WiFi stopped working again. I tried to flash new radio (it was on old radio and froyo before that), several wipes, factory resets, flashing original shipping rom + kernel/boot image (not removed recovery and radio still was 4.06(?)), flashing froyo that worked before (frf50, he left it on the card, so it's the same one that worked for him), flashing frf91 - no change - wifi still not working..
I'm with Baseband ver. 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.12_7
Kernel ver. 2.6.32.9.-27220-g328f560 android-build(a)apa26 #1
now with froyo FRF50
Please help me with that! No idea what else can I do to make it work..
some additional desperate steps -
updated to kernel 2.6.34 from Cyanogen - same problem
factory reset + wipe everything + factory rom & recovery >>> OTA update to FRF91 - still same problem..
HELP PLEASE!!!

Activity Manager "faults"?

I rooted the phone of a friend with CM6 (mt3g) and it runs terribly. FC after FC basically. My phone has the exact same setup and it runs fine. I took a logcat from his phone and noticed the section I've pasted below. Can anyone tell me what to do about these "faults" and what it means exactly? I'll post the full logcat if needed.

[Q] Force Close while enabling Wi-Fi, searched, have logcat

I found this thread while searching, which is very similar to my issue, but his resolution seems strange, imo.
If you go into Wifi Settings, check to enable Wifi, it looks like it enables, shows scanning, then FC, and it goes back to wireless Settings and Wifi turns back off. When i bought it, it had Amon's recovery, v1.7 iirc, and was running stock FRF91. Whenever tmo pushed FRG83 OTA, it would reboot, but into Amon's recovery, fail to update, and boot back into FRF91. I used universal androot to root and all seemed well, just wifi wouldn't work. I assumed it was a borked restore on previous owner's part, something to do with the kernel and/or drivers.
I finally decided to do a full unroot (stock rom, stock recovery, etc), so I downloaded FRF91 PASSIMG.zip. It wouldn't flash it from the bootloader (wouldn't detect it, and scrolls to fast for me to see), so I extracted each and fastboot flashed all (boot, recovery, system, userdata). Booted up, wifi worked, then OTA upgrade to 2.2.1 (FRG83D?). Since universal androot doesn't work on that, and I didn't feel like searching unrevoked, I just loaded Amon's 2.0 recovery back and loaded a different ROM. Fail on my part here is I didn't test wifi while on 2.2.1 before rerooting & installing Amon's recovery. I updated the radio to 5.08 from 4.06.00.12_7.
I tried LeoFroyo and the app drawer was sluggish, so I switched to This ROM and yesterday Wifi worked fine. Did a full wipe, flashed that ROM, then the black bar add on. I was at one of my work locations with 5+ APs and it detected all of them. When I got home, did a NAND backup, flashed the wifi calling add on, and no more wifi. Restored the NAND backup, still no wifi. I now updated the radio to 5.12.00.08, but still no wifi. I'm at a different work location, but same physical infrastructure (APs, SSIDs, security, etc), no wifi. If I enable wifi either by the check box in wireless settings or the power control widget, it just turns back off. I get the FC if I go into WiFi Setting, then enable it there.
I can enable wifi tethering, it broadcasts fine and I can connect to it. I changed the SSID as well as the PSK, the changes worked. Rebooted the phone, still no wifi. Bluetooth also works fine, as does the 3.5mm jack. GPS works, but seems lacking. In my house, it'll never lock. On my back porch (no patio cover) it'll pick up 2 sats in yellow (gps status). Driving, it'll pick up 4 or 5 locked sats with a small green bar. My mt3g locks in my bedroom with 7+ sats. So far, only the wifi is not working, and the GPS is simply slow/weak. I bought the phone on CL Saturday, so I'm starting to wonder if this is why it was for sale.
Here's the logcat from when I try to enable wifi:

I know it's kind of long, but just trying to provide as much info as possible. I have the traces.txt file, too large to attach, but I dunno what any of it is.
Got it fixed!
Okay, so got it figured out.
After a fresh install, wifi works fine. Then, I'd run Titanium Backup and restore a bunch of stuff, including the Titanium part for the wifi APs and such. A lot of the settings wouldn't take precedence until AFTER a reboot. It's at this point WIFI would fail.
I took a nand backup, full wipe, then re-setup the phone and all good. Flashed the wifi calling add-on and still have wifi.
Also, since google restored the settings, it had the AP's saved anyway, so no need to restore that through Titanium. I rebooted a few times, turned wifi on & off, installed Mobile Defense, which required a reboot, too. In testing, I did find that speeds on the N1's 3G are decent. The upload is almost double that of my RoadRunner.
I still have carpy GPS lock/reception, though.
Hope this helps anyone else who has the problem I had.

Help! Sony Ericsson MH810 Headphones issuse with nAa JB kelners

I've just bought Sony Ericsson MH810 Headphones a few weeks ago and having trouble using them on nAa JB kelners.
On E15_nAa-jb-03_2.6.29.6-nAa-jb-03 the Headphones are not recognized and found out that I can make them work with Soundabout.
When using 2.6.32.60-nAa-jb-02 the phone freezez when plugging the Headphones.
This is the same on any tried CF. Tested both kelners with most versions of MiniCM10-4.0.2 and JB Mini Project.
Unable to get LogCat for 2.6.32.60-nAa-jb-02 as it is freezing.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first created based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean because of curiosity. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device (EVO 3D). Since then many others have joined the project and it has grown a whole lot. We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours and many of our contributors have gone to help other projects and that is ultimately why we do what we do.
Once Jelly Bean was over, we decided in Kitkat to move to a new base which was OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting because it challenged us to see what we could with something different.
With Lollipop, we have moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. That said it has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward.
Few more things we will say is that we don't accept nor ask for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc.....
We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask is that you search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

Getting Dirty! Just installed, used TB to restore my apps and now I'm configuring dirty tweaks.
Until now everything is OK, not só smooth as I expected, but will test it a lot more to give a real opnion.
Nice job, lets see how it runs...

No worries, I'm trying to learn by myself how to port ROMs, tried with a Pacman but when I tought everything was OK I noticed that it did nota fins the external SD card... Anyways...
I used DU with my Samsung and it was great... Yours compilation, based on todays use only, I found that:
battery is great
Having some lags now and then
Lock screen freezes for 2 secs when turning it on
The APP player pro froze and I had to reboot so it could work again
Thats it, besides that its a great ROM, keep working on it! Thanks!

Any luck with getting it out somewhere. I'd like to try it, but there's nowhere to get it at the moment.

I was going to test this ROM, however dev-host refuses to let me download it. I'll try again later on my pc.

ROM: Currently flashing different ROMs to feed my flashing addiction.

Is anyone facing camera issues here? The ROM didn't have a camera on it and camera apps do not work too! Same with the flashlight.
Otherwise, this ROM is sick??
