[SmartFlash] Flashing BaseBand with multiple files - LG Optimus 2x

Lately the Band Base are composed of 4 files, and most don't know as flashing, some say that we select the file may weight, but I found a very easy way to Flash this type of Base Band.
IMPORTANT
SmartFlash program deletes entirely the phone's memory, so if you don't want to lose information, data, forums, contacts, msm, WhatsApp talks, music, videos, etc., copy everything to the external SD or PC should do!

-Second need the program SmartFlash for Windows (at the moment for Linux there is nothing, but have been flashing since VirtualBox without problems), can download you it from here: SmartFlash_and_driver.rar - 8.4 MB
-Run SmartFlash and a window will see us like this:
-Let the window by default [Normal D/L]
-Click on [ADD] and here appears the file browser, look for the container folder of the BaseBand that previously we have achieved.
-Select the 4 files with the extension .fls and click on [Open]
-You have to see something very similar to this image:

i never tried that, but flashing all from biggest to smallest works fine too

No worry about the order, SmartFlash knows how to do it.
Look like I have selected them and ordered how alone

Nice posting, all 4 in one operation, wasn't aware, thanks

My phone is not showing the image on the first picture. I updated my baseband before and everything went OK, but now I don't know whats going wrong, I press VOL-, plug the cable, LG logo shows up, capacitive buttons flashes and the phone turns off.
Edit: I put the battey back and my phone entered in CWM
I just turned off and tried again and entered in SW Upgrade.

Kostja_V already sent me a PM a couple days ago that it's possible to flash a bb which consists of 4 fls files in one step with this method. Was planning to include that in the next update of the Complete Baseband Overview Thread.
But a very nice guide with screenshots, I'll link it in my thread if you want. You could expand it with screenshots for the normal flashing of a single fls file, then it's an awesome all in one screenshot thread
Oh I think you should request to move it from the development to the general section though.
I can contact the forum mod for you with that request if you want.

No problem, you can use the images, text, or everything, and if you want I can do tests once finished with the ROM 1.4.4 Opti-3D to CWM.
The good thing about SmartFlash is that the program knows the order of flashing, reminds me a lot to FlashTool for Infineon.

Press the volume down (on the right side) and let not go, now while you have pressed connect the USB cable to the PC, and not let go of the key, will be the LG logo and a few seconds will be the Upgrade screen, now as you release the volume key.

Ok. Follow these steps EXACTLY:
1. Make sure you have odin, the I9000XWJG5 firmware and the file that ends on "512.pit".
2. Reboot your PC.
3. Disable your antivirus, firewall and all similar programs!
4. Reboot your PC again.
5. Run odin directly after boot!
6. Select the files in odin.
7. Take the battery out of your phone.
8. Put it back in and press "volume down"+"home"+"power"
9. Connect your phone to your pc via usb cable and wait for odin to recognize it.
10. Press start in odin.
11. Wait!
Do these steps exactly in this order and you should be fine.

At the time of this writing only a single working flash has been reported, and several (full?) bricks.

I just finished my recovery for Galaxy S. This requires some testing before I do the final release.

super noob question here sorry but what does clockwork do exactly? sorry don't kill me i'm just trying to learn
buckle your seat belts.... here we go
Lots of questions for the newbies, ready to beta test..
1- I'm on Mac, do I just drag this file to my internal or external SD CARD ? Do I look for the file and follow instructions in first post ?
2- Once installed, I'm I ready to install Paul's Rom ?
3- I notice there is two zip's to update....Apply or install ? which one for roms ?
Thank you all
If you're unsure on how to use odin, watch this video

Odin can be found here :

where do we download odin3 and how do I install it if it's not included in the .tar file not to be extracted?
EDIT: question answered. thnx
In a nut shell Clockwork is a recovery image which allows you to not only flash new roms; but also alows back up and restore your phone.

I have a button that says PDA is that what you meant or am I missing something (quite possible)?
so basically if i want to reset my phone back to stock this is what i use? can i get odin3 for mac?
+1 to the question if he meant PDA instead of PDU
This is for flashing custom roms. Backing up your phone between flashes, before flashes, managing sd partitions, flashing themes, recovering after bad flashes, wiping data, wiping apps, pretty much it is the heart and soul of your pretty new phone. This gives you a little piece of mind when modding your phone.

I just updated the "Read before posting and Informative links" sticky... it contains the link to Odin3, the recovery and the drivers all in one place...
Just found out on IRC that he did mean PDA not PDU. But I also found a post by someone saying they bricked, so be careful. Anyone successful yet?
Just be warned, I'm fairly sure I've managed to (drunkenly) brick my Vibrant already via Odin3 flash that didn't finish.
Herp derp.
Sorry man, your not alone another brick just reported.
Define brick?
Phone -> PC?
That is not bricked. Have them reflash the files in the other thread.

Bricked = Paperweight / Phone doing nothing / Not connecting to PC and not able to reflash. There are now reports of 3 full bricks.
yikes.. holding off till this gets stabilized.. on another note samsung kies looks a lil screwy to me and cannot even read any sub titles within the program, text is all glitchy. all I see are the icons and can navigate.

[Q] Frozen at boot screen

i just bought the captivate off my friend for 150 the problem is when you turn the phone the screen stays on the att world phone screen and then you can hear sound but the screen stays the same and it doesnt change so i was wondering if there is a way to fix this
Do you know if your friend kept it stock?
honestly i have no clue but i believe he did
Sounds like he didn't and that's why he sold it so cheap. Go to this thread and get the tools you will be needing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=818439. Install the drivers then download the .zip and extract the files, download the pda.tar. Run Odin as administrator put the pda.tar in the pda slot and the pit file in the pit slot.
Next power off the phone and remove the SIM, your external sd card and battery. Plug the usb cable into the computer only then press and hold the volume up and down buttons at the same time, don't touch power, put the battery in and plug the usb into the phone. You should be in download mode, Odin should see your phone push start and let Odin run. This will take you to a working phone, just like it was when it came from AT&T.
Good luck and let us know if it works.
First of can you should never have paid him for the phone if it wasn't fully working when you got it.
Second can you get into download mode? If so then get the one click odin and flash back to stock and you will have a working phone. If you can't get into download mode then demand your money back from him and drop him as a friend.

I linked him to c3poLOL's Odin package instead that way if he has a borked three button combo this will fix that too. I agree, not a good friend, sounds like he soft bricked it before selling it. Should be fixable and then it's a steal, if it was off contract.
You sure he is a friend
Captivate
Cog 2.2
this didnt work because the phone did not show up on my computer even after i installed the drivers and odin
Try using a different usb port on your pc, one in the back where the motherboard is, perhaps you need more power, I've seen this happen. Are you familiar with adb? Are you able to get into download or recovery mode using the three button combo. ADB will work from the recovery screen.
I had the same issue today someones rom screwed up my phone and it would boot up with sound, but be stuck at the att screen. Wasnt able to activate download mode with buttons or adb, because permissions werent granted. So my advice for anyone else that has this problem get superoneclick to root your device and get permissions ( I used Z4 root which i will never do again) and run cmd.exe type in the path you have for example mine was C:\Users\PEGLEG\android-sdk-windows\tools\adb shell (modify it for where you have yours, then type in reboot download, and you should get into the download screen where odin will fix your device.
my phone is also "frozen" at a boot up screen.

[Q] SGS Not able to boot after re-partitioned..

After flashing MIUI Jelly Beans I wanted to go back to stock 2.3 ROM to check on something and did a restore with CWM which didn't work because (as I've learned later) it uses different file system, anyway I've flashed s1_odin_20100512.pit file alone with Odin, and the result is that I can only turn the phone on in download mode.. What can I do now?
Thanks to everybody in advance..
I've tried to flash stock ROM using the method mentioned in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494493
and after finishing, Odin gave me "Fail".. What does it mean and what should I do now?

you have KIES running in the background shut it down, get solutions from My Android Solutions for Odin stuck
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT SD card, press power
button for a minute , than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card...make sure you
have more than 50% battery charge before you attempt any sort of flashing
Thanks a lot, and yes Samsung Kies was running in the background while I was trying to flash, I'll make sure it is shutdown this time, anyway the battery is almost at zero now and the phone isn't charging, so I'l have to wait for a friend who has SGS until tomorrow so I can charge the battery and try to flash the phone again.
On the other hand, I remembered something that might be important, which is that my phone have problems with internal memory (when you have error messages like "E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2"), not sure if it had something to do with failing to flash stock ROM besides having Samsung Kies running in background (because I got stuck on "Set Partition" in Odin only one time), so there might be something else ausing these problems..anyway I'll try to flash it again tomorrow and see what happens.
Thanks again.

yup, just tick it, can be done separately too
Thanx a lot, the phone is working again, it turned out that you must use Windows account that have administrator privileges in order for the flashing process to work (not sure though cuase I've tried admin account after restart, so may be restarting PC was the answer)

Help! Getting TWRP on this damn phone...

HELP!
S20 FE 5G SM-G781B.
I am at my wits end here. I have tried and tried, but, nothing... tried flashing TWRP with Odin multiple times (and versions), get a A-OK, installed fine, then try to boot into recovery... and it's just standard recovery.
You must disable auto reboot in Options tab in odin.
I've done that. No Bueno. I've been (trying to) follow this guide, but when it comes to the "press Vol Up+Vol Down+Power Button to enter Recovery" it just... doesn't work.
EDIT: Well, with USB connected Vol Up+Vol Down+Power Button just dumps me in Download Mode...
Try volume up+power only.
That just boots me into the standard recovery.
Thanks for taking time to help me, btw
Try another version of odin then
I SWORE I had tried different versions of Odin.. I have 3 versions downloaded (3.10, 3.12, 3.14). Odin3 v3.12 did the trick... somehow... so far, so good. But of course, when one problem seemingly gets solved, another one arises...
I can't find the zips (multidisabler-samsung-2.6a, Magisk-v21.4) in TWRP. I'm about to chuck this stupid phone out the window.
EDIT: I hate this stupid phone. One step forward, two steps back...
does usb connect to computer?
Yes. But when I connect in TWRP I just get this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And I can't copy any files to the Internal Storage.
Connecting 'normally' I can access my SD card and Internal Storage as normal.
It seems like the TWRP fried something on your phone......Does 'adb push files' work(I can elaborate on this if needed)
Figures Hope it's nothing irreversible.
The TWRP I'm flashing is twrp-3.5.0_10-2_afaneh92-Q-r8q. You know if this is the right one?
What android version are you on?
11
Then you have used wrong TWRP, as expected. This is the right one:

Friendly Remind you that you need to reboot directly into download mode and flash this recovery(i.e.AVOID booting into stock rom)(Surely, disable auto reboot)
Q means built for Android 10 and R means built for Android 11.You used 10 TWRP on 11 ROM so it is buggy.
Good to know about the Q/R difference, thx.
But flashing the R version yields the same results

Maybe more than figures. The whole data partition can be corrupt. Factory reset (format data) in TWRP for android 11. Hate to say but you have to say farwell to all your files, to say the least.
Meh, I don't have any data worth saving, so that's no biggie... I just want to root this damn phone...
