[ROM][AOSP][P31xx][07-16-12]Stock Android - Galaxy Tab 2 7" Android Development

Here is a stock Android build for the P3113, based off of the work that codeworkx did with CM9. It is currently alpha and untested. Once bug reports come in and the build is fixed up some, I'll put together a build with all GApps included with it then as well so you only have one thing to download and flash. While it is a stock Android build, there are some changes that I made to it in the interest of usability. It is rooted and has busybox. I also removed the non-English keyboards, and possibly a few other packages. If there is something missing that isn't a Google App, let me know and I'll add it back in. Also, this is currently untested as I haven't gotten a chance to flash it on my tablet yet, and there are most certainly going to be problems with it. (Flashed and it works). Let me know what issues you find, and I'll work on fixing them all up for the next build/release. Also, this is currently only for the GT-P3113 device (US Wifi). Once it becomes "stable" and most issues are worked out, I'll build it for the P3100 and P3110 as well. You will also need the ROM and one of the two kernels below. One is the kernel packaged with codeworkx CM9 build, the other is a kernel that I built based off of the CM9 kernel with a few minor changes. I'm now packaging the ROM with a kernel, so you just need one item. Also, GApps are included, so the download will be a little larger than before.

Current Known Issues
No pretty boot animation
Software keyboard not working (?) - Fixed
Mic does not record audio
Camera does not work - Fixed
IR Blaster not working
Audio not working

I haven't had time to really test it yet, and probably won't until a week or so from now unfortunately, but, the build in the OP does work. Be sure to flash the ROM, a kernel, and GApps. I don't know what bugs are in it yet, as I don't have time to play around with it, but it boots. First issue people will notice is that there is no boot animation. I know about this, and it will be fixed in a later build. Want to make sure more than just a boot animation is broken before updating the build.

i will try this out in awhile..wanna check if the mic is fixed on this rom, thanx @immuts

Nice! I will try this out tonight after work and report back.

Mic likely isn't fixed, but I am going to look at it when I get a chance. Was going to copy over some of the audio related fixes from the P3100 that codeworkx did to see if that fixed it up. And the more people that try it out, the better, as that means it's more likely to find issues to be fixed.

Sounds good! I will try this out when I get home tonight. Nice to have a central repo that is purely AOSP though!

I've uploaded a new build that hopefully fixes all of the known issues in the 2nd post except the IR blaster, which I haven't had a chance to look into. The mic problem should have been fixed from codeworkx/teamhacksung's latest build update for CM9, and I think the other issues should be fixed via some cleanup/customization to my build environment. Let me know if stuff isn't fixed, or new issues come up.

Just got done downloading!
Glad to see some stock AOSP!
I'll flash and start testing tomo after work and let you know my findings!
Thank you for your work, much appreciated!
Typed on my Samsung Galaxy Tab-2 7.0 running CM9-ICS_4.0.4 using T-talk 2.0

Just downloaded and installed and there was no software keyboard. There were duplicate camera and gallery apps. Unfortunately with the lack of a software keyboard the ROM is unusable.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app

There is a software keyboard, but it defaults to wanting to use a hardware keyboard for some reason. I haven't been able to find a way to disable this and have it default to the software keyboard. The IME switcher should be in the notification area and allow you to switch to using the software keyboard.

Might want to post how to get the keyboard working in the first post. I'll give it another try later tonight.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app

Finally got the software keyboard working. Calendar FC's when the tablet boots and FC's whenever it is opened. Second camera app causes the gallery to FC. I was only able to connect to wifi once with the data working. After I signed into the play store the wifi connects but does not receive data and multiple apps FC'd after the sign in. Tried to reboot and same issues. Hope this helps.

I found how CM keeps the hardware keyboard from being enabled as the default. If I can't get JB working this weekend, I'll update the AOSP build so the keyboard is at least more usable. I also know what was causing the issue with calendar.

Sweet!!! Can't wait for the P3100 rom

imnuts: have not flashed your ROM yet but wanted to take a minute and say 'Thanks' for your effort !
Good luck mate !

Ok, I updated the ROM in the OP. I'm hoping that it's getting closer to a working product. No luck with JB (yet), so this is just updated ICS. I'll also have builds for the P3100 and P3110 soon as well. P3110 will be here first, still some stuff to work out with P3100. Let me know of any issues
EDIT: P3110 uploaded and put into the OP as well
EDIT 2: P3100 now in the OP

Flashed it :beer: so far' so good,, phone app goes into landscape , mode only???
Sent from my GT-P3100 using xda app-developers app

Could someone please post some screen shots? What is the main difference b/n AOSP and CM? I assume CM has more changes to the original code.
@OP: Thanks for this ROM.

Liquid JB 4.2 Rom Droid 4 XT894

THIS IS NOW OFFICIALLY SUPPORTED BY LIQUIDSMOOTH.
I am still doing some of my own builds too.
I am running this daily now. Be sure you update to a newer build and flash Gapps when you update.
Get it here: http://d-h.st/search?search_by=2&search_for=jsnweitzel
Rom Slot 1 only and 4.2 Gapps
Updates:
01/06/13 - Keyboard lights (look for the build that says "keyboard lights" in the notes)
01/19/13 - Black call screen fix by Hashcode, fixed a few other bug
01/28/13 - Tether fix
This is heavily based on the STS-Dev Team (hashcode-dhacker29) and the liquid team sources. So a big thanks to them and to cyanogenmod, also to users fattire and redflea. Without their work-sources I will never have even tried this. This still has the same bugs as the other 4.2 roms.
You can find what modified code I used on github here: https://github.com/jsnweitzel.
As usually you are responsible for whatever you do to your device.
Thank you sir! Been hoping someone would port this. Can't wait for the bugs to be ironed out!

Thanks man, I'm happy to see a new ROM in the making. Hope the bugs get squashed out soon.

I've been waiting for this too!
Doesnt seem to boot if flashed with SS2.11, but not sure if thats the problem. I'm not a fan of SS3 so i wont be trying to flash it with that.. anyone got any findings about the rom?
Installed safestrap 3.11 Stock slot gives reboot loops, but romslot 1 works. Still lost over 1 gb cause of it.. ah well!
I'm from europe and the data doesnt work ofcourse. Trying to adjust apnfis-conf.xml and build.prop using myfishbears GSM patch as a base. Still cant get GSM to work.. anyone from europe got any experience with JB4.1 or 2 and fixed it? It does find my carrier (NL KPN) and ticked on national roaming.
I found a post in the CM10.1 thread with correct settings, but if I try to adjust the settings the phone doesn't boot up.. the files are attached in the zip (the zip doesnt flash though I used adb push to get them on my phone)
I should just make a new post, but think this is more useful hehe I got the patch up and working! So people with a GSM rom can use the patch I attached for liquid rom
Dont forget to put national roaming on!
Thanks to olegfusion and myfishbear for the patch and love the rom (apart from the bugs ofc) so far jsn!

My keyboard lights aren't working :-/ is there a setting that I'm missing? I installed fresh onto the slot-1
edit: Oh damn I didn't see the keyboard lights ROM this morning when I flashed. will try out!
Sweet! What bugs have been noted so far?
Everyone else able to send MMS's? I don't recall sending a picture since flashing but I have also done some contact editing since and want to isolate the problem.
I figured I would post this here as well since it should work for all 4.2.1 ROMs.
Per tweet from dhacker:
“Moto KILLROM users someone tweeted me earlier and stated that if you turn off the lockscreen you can turn the ringtone back on”
I'm at work so I haven't had a chance to test this out. If anyone wants to try it let us now if it works. I'll be testing this out this evening.

I think the most important one (thats why im on ICS again) is that you cant receive calls (blackscreen when ringing) unless you go into vibrate.
Bluetooth is a bit glitchy aswell.
Camera flash only works on focus.
Cant recall if there was anything else..
Respect to the devs on your hard work
Does anyone know if third party camera apps work on this rom? Snapchat, instagram, the like.
Anybody else having issues with MMS? I am unable to send through normal messaging and GO SMS pro.
For those keeping up with this ROM there is a new 01/21 build up.
One thing I noticed with both the 01/18 and 01/21 build is that when I tried to flash over my existing Liquid ROM they both wiped out my gapps. In both cases I ended up wiping system, the reinstalling the current build along with gapps and that seemed to work fine.
Keep up the great work jsnweitzel. Really this ROM.
I suggest you flash the gapps every time you update. I had a issue with the play store crashing too. If you uninstall the updates then it should be fine and will update back to the latest version.
Edit -- the play store issue was with the 11-30 gapps, with the 12-12 ones it works fine. I add the gapps to my dev host folder and a build with the mms fix is uploading now.

To be short,
AOSP source code from google untouched.
CYANOGENMOD is AOSP and they changed some codes, their own launcher (trebuchet) and custom apps.
I'm working on the sound issue today fyi
I've take a look for the keyboard problems and nothing found yet. But I'm guessing it's probably in the frameworks folder.

Good work mate
Always good to see more development for this device. Hopefully, you get the sound issue fixed and all the other stuff will follow.
Thanks,

I am really excited about AOSP on my tab. Is there anything that I can do to help get this working? If you have hit a wall, maybe if you shared your non-booting work in progress the community here could get their collective think-on and get this thing rolling again. If that's not the case I apologize for this, and I can't wait to see what you've been working on! :fingers-crossed:

Hi dude. Sorry about the long wait. Some things happened in my life from the last couple of weeks (my cat ate my p3113 usb cable, my wife dropped my galaxy s in the toilet bowl and I've build a home server and I went back to school as computer tech) so I didn't have any time left to work on it. I'll start back my work on it asap.
Last time I worked on it, I was getting a non-booting ROM. I'm sure its my kernel, even if I built it using cyanogenmod_p3110 config file and it compiled through the end.
And if I can add something.. I have difficulty to work on my tab because my girlfriend have dropped water on the tablet usb port and damaged the battery... kinda lucky guy eh..
Wow! With that kinda luck eh?
Thanks for your work on this anyway! I have just always liked the option of AOSP. Let me know if I can help, though I don't have much knowledge of the kernel, unfortunately.
Good Luck?

First of all: Thanks for all the great work and effort everyone puts into this rom! I really appreciate all the work! Great developers and a great community! :highfive:

Regarding gapps:
You can take 4.3 gapps, but keep in mind that the packages floating around (e.g. here) won't be neon compatible.
I've put some work into 4.2 tegra2 compatible gapps some time ago - and I've desribed the steps how to a) detect neon incompatibilities (post 1) and b) which steps I took to get rid of them (post 2).

Since our Hardware, is not Neon compatible, we're not able to benefit from it, and the neon coding causes things to FC on our phone. (like keyboard)
so tony, being the magical Penguin he is, Fixed a version of Gapps that 4.2 without the neon codings. so we're able to run them without the force closes.

if your using 3rd party add ons, you may never notice anything. but if your using default stuff, you will eventually. most marked bug was the keyboard closing mid message. but others were reported.
Its just a matter of time til you do experience something odd, since its a hardware issue that our phone simply cannot run Neon codes. so as something you may install in the future that needs neon, you'll be wondering why its crashing.

This rom is pretty great its smooth and stable i don't know how but the nexus live wallpaper mixed up with an htc theme from playstore so now i have htc background with nexus
Gta3 is pretty smooth on this rom even on 803mhz or around that.
Sometimes it laggs but if you tweak it a bit or delete audio files it wil go faster. But only on high speed in cars it laggs

The ROM is being updated to kernel version 3.4, that was already released to RazrM and for XT926. The kernel 3.4 depends on new bootloader version and XT925 doesn't have it yet (a leak exists, you can search xda).
As Nadlabak and dhacker29 already informed, the M8 will be the last release supporting devices with JB bootloader. All nightly builds will support only new bootloader.

OK. So far so good. Flashed with no issue, neither the rom nor the gapps.
Very smooth. WIFI and radio signals look OK. Downloading all my apps...
After 5mn of testing (!):
- My external SD isn't detected.
- Same transition bug as in a few builds earlier on cm10.2
EDIT:
- All Interface/Menus/Status bar settings are missing
- Some settings are missing from the Camera app (jpeg quality and others)
EDIT2: 20 minutes
No other bug so far. Tested a few apps, are working as expected.
root is OK.
And s**t, that thing is REALLY snappy!.
Hi,
I made a dirty flash.
XT925 (Telcel Mexico)
I was in Carbon nightlies (7.11.13)
Flash ROM over Carbon (CWM 6.0.4.4)
Flash GAPP 4.4
Erase Cache, Erase Dalvik
Boot
Boot without Problems alle Apps working
(Around 70 apps, from whatsapp bbm, rootexplorer, udn lite, asphalt 8,etc)
SD Card not mounted/working
Radio signal works ,WiFi, battery is ok )
GPS locks quickly.
From Carbon have the unlock function with volume keys, that works too. I did not find it in CM, but works.
I flashed superuser.
Till now all is working great. No FC.

Hi guys,
Just flashed here and I´m still testing... Used CWM 6.0.4.4 without any glitches. Flashed Core GAPPS , the minimal one (17mb) with only core code. I also flashed SuperSU 1.6.5 as I don´t like Superuser.
It´s working like a charm!
I didn´t like the launcher, so I exchanged to Nova Laucher as I always used it.
Anomalies found:
- External SDCard doesn´t work.
- Tiles for Radios/GPS/Bluetooth on notification screen doesn´t work to switch the function on-off. It just leads to config screen.
- Sound poping/cracking playing FLAC files. Tried Apollo and PlayerPro. I don´t have any MP3 local to test, will try later. But working flawless with streaming sound. I used 8Track and Cloudaround and the sound is perfect.
Oh, just FYI Viper4Android is working flawlessly without any issue!
For a "first build", it´s almost perfect, just few bugs. Epinter, congratulations!
I´ll test GPS and Bluetooth Audio on car as soon as I´m out for lunch.
Tested this. Works great on my Atrix HD. Video playback and external SD seem to be the only bugs for me. Found myself a new daily driver for now.

No tethering
No GPS
A lot of menu options off
Some 3G lost signals
SMS and MMS ok
It's ok for a preview.

WIFI and 3G bars still white (not turn blue).
Tethering still down.

Now GPS is normal? If not, try restore a backup where it locks, reboot with it locked then clean flash KK, might work.
I think white status bar icons are a feature of KK, not a bug. It won't go blue as previous versions. Check if your playstore is connecting and your Google account is syncing normal, it's all set.
Tethering is down. Might not been implemented yet.
I checked video recording is working fine so local video playback, using mx player. But streaming video from YouTube app or any other site from web is not working.
And lock screen rotation too, may not be present yet.
Any other feature is awesome.

Tks.
I know there is some bugs, and CM 11 almost is ok.
But something very wrong happened. I lost wifi. Not turn on. No connection anymore. I put sotck system by rsdlite, but even that, wifi not turn back. WIFI-AP not turn on too. I think it burned. Is there some way to test if really burned?
Tks again.

[ROM] CyanogenMod 12 - Unofficial Nightlies [04.01.2015]

CYANOGENMOD 12 UNOFFICIAL NIGHTLIES FOR HTC M8
This is my first ROM post, I have recently started building CyanogenMod 12 from source with no modifications, initially for my own use, but thought that I would share it with the community, I tend to produce a new build daily.
Flash the ROM at your own risk. I accept no responsibility for any damage that may occur as a result of flashing this ROM. That being said I have been using my builds for a couple of weeks without issue.
The device must be unlocked and using a custom recovery, ie TWRP / CWM
You need a ROM zip and optional Gapps. Links to Gapps and ROM are found at the bottom of this post.
Please wipe data / cache if coming from sense or another ROM, other than that wipe is not necessary.

Btw this rom fixed a bug disorting audio after call ? ?
Downloading now
I haven't experienced an audio bug yet. Please let me know if you do. New build will be up later today.
New build is up....
I don't know what's so different between this build of cm12 and the other cm12 builds but this runs better and more stable then any of the other cm12 builds available
Build is up for today, there won't be a build on 25th or 26th....
Yeah I noticed that this rom works more smoothly and stable too, whatever you've done to the rom, its awesome, cheers dev!
Camera issue
Having some camera issues. The 1st picture works, but next ones won't until a lot of time goes by, or if you you switch from camera to video back to camera some times works. I'm running the 12-24 version on the at&t network.

I use Google camera rather than cm camera and it works fine.
Google camera from play store fixed the issue. Thanks for the ROM and the suggestion.
Merry Christmas...
Build for today is up, I'm not going to keep posting when a build is released, please check the OP to find the latest release.
Downloading now, I like how people are saying it seems more stable and smooth than other CM builds!
SD card
Is there a way to sort out the storage issue, because the internal storage memory I have is only 16G and most of the applications can't be moved to the external storage. I guess, this is the most annoying thing.
p.s the rom perform well and so far, I don't have any major issues.
Can anyone tell me how to fix sound distortion ?
