Use Nexus One for External on 360?

Trying to figure out a way to use my Nexus One as a 'portable device' on my xbox 360. I've tried reformatting the SD card and removing partitions. Sorta lost. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?
The Xbox 360 will format it automatically to its own "format/partition", It will max out at 16gigs (or 32, I forgot). Try this, plug it in, turn on usb removable device on the Nexus One, now on the 360 go to settings/memory, and see if it's detected, then format it on the 360 to make it usable.
Side note, why in the heck do you want to do this? The 360 will use the ENTIRE microSD card, no matter what, so you phone can't use it.
Go get a cheap USB flash drive, problem solved.
Tried that already, it doesn't recognize it at all.
The idea is hopefully it'll only be worthless when it's in USB mode connected to the 360. And because I can use LogMeIn Ignition+Dropbox to move over movies into my Dropbox folder, download onto my SD card and then I can just plug it in via USB and watch said movies through the 360 at friends and associates houses'.
Also it's great for when I want to listen to my music and things like that while I'm at their house.

Oh, I thought you were trying to use the microsd inside the Nexus One as an Xbox 360 "memory card" (since it now supports the use of USB Flash drives like that, since MU's are discontinued).
Nope. I just wanna be able to plug it in (mount if needed) and be able to use it as a portable device for media. Anyone else have any thoughts or ideas?
bump
No one has any ideas?
get a ps3

That actually is a good idea for the 4GB card that came with the phone.

[Q] Use a different (external camera) into SGS?

Could it be possible to use an external video camera in lieu of the camera on the back of the Captivate? What I'm thinking of here is how to mount a helmet camera that would just go straight to uStream. But without having to mount my phone on my head.
Thanks!
the captivate cannot be used as a usb host device.
also with the upload speed/quality of 3g would give horrible results for live steaming.
you would be better off buying a helmet cam with built in storage and upload good quality after.
Maybe strap one of these to your headmount with a cellphone battery and a big usb flash drive or SD card.

Yeah, I knooooow that's a helluva lot easier to do but I wanted to show my friend in the UK a bit of what I do. I've tried the uStream app over 3G and you know, it's not terrible.
Those go pro cameras are pretty cool but they're so bluky. What I'm thinking here is a camera the size of like a webcam that you'd find in a laptop or even on a cellphone just permanently mounted into my helmet. I can plug it into my phone and then from there I can write a program to upload pictures at say, 1 minute intervals (if we're ruling out the uStream thing entirely) to a server with geostamps - I think that would be pretty cool.
I'm planning a big tour on my moto this summer and I think it would be good fun for those who wished to follow where I was and what I was seeing.
It might end up being easier to just teather my phone to a homebrew solution though (like K2340 is saying). That way it's independent of the phone and all. Easiest would be to mount the camera to the bike itself, but the helmet view would be much preferred.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys - keep em coming

[Q] Usb mass storage mode (CM7)

Hi,
I use my galaxy S 16Gb version as multimedia player on my car. for months I've been using cyanogenmod 7.1 rom without problems.
The problem is when I share mi internal card data as "usb mass storage", whole internal memory is shared (documents, images, files, etc...) and when I plug it on usb car audio, can't find music inside all android stuff.
¿Is ther any way to mount only selected folders where I've music to play in the car?
Thanks.
Regards,
Adrián.
Anyone knows any solution please?
Thanks.
My head unit goes straight back where it left off when I plug or unplg it. It took a minute to find it the first time now itbgoes right there.
Playing music from playlist of Galaxy S / S2 USB port of car Head Unit
hi,
I want to know if Galaxy S/S2 can be used to play music from phones playlist on the USB port on the head unit of cars.
I am interested in using galaxy S as any iPhone can be used on USB port / docking to play songs from the playlist. Dont wanna use the phone as a storage device and access folders to play music.
Have tried connecting a friend's Galaxy S2 on USB port but it could access only the folders on the memory. not able to find a way to play the playlist
Any information on this front would be helpful.
Can you guys not just simply navigate the folders with your music in it? My 6 year old deck does this, so I'm sure yours does to. And if you personally can't navigate folders, then... wow.
Yes folders can be navigated to get to the song but its not easy to do while driving.
Further whats the point buying an expensive device that cannot be user-friendly enough when u need it the most.
Playlists make things simple and if these cannot be accessed then its better to stick to pen drive instead or maybe iPhone that does the job pretty well (atleast this one for sure ;-) )
i am hopeful developers can come up with an easy way to take care of this.
if iPhone can why cant android !!!
Honestly, you're probably just doing some wrong. Set the default folder, move your music folder somewhere not 583 folders from the root drive, etc.
Or just use your iPhone if computers scare you.

Is it not the same as conect as camera ?
when connecting to pc - provided you've installed samsung drivers - your phone will be shown as connected device , and you can easily see all folders(sdcard, ext card...) and transfer files and do everyhting you want...
I guess he's talking about enabling the UMS protocol instead of MTP that our phone uses. There's an app made for our big brother called SGS3 Easy UMS but I don't know if it's working on our device...
Advantages of UMS on the MTP?
Way faster file trasnfer
The phone gets mounted as a real disk so you can do pretty anything on it
The UMS protocol is more secure because you have to go past your lock screen to mount
But on the other hand MTP comes in handy when you want to transfer files and use them at the same time on your mobile ^^

thats exactly what i was talking about, another huge advantage of ums is that it doesnt need samsung drivers installed to work.
lets say you go to a friend or to your work and you dont have internet, if the computer you want to use doesnt have samsung drivers installed you wont be able to do anything with your device, in the other hand if ums was enabled on our device the only thing you need is a micro usb cable to connect your phone to any pc you want...
im so dissapointed from samung for disabling ums protocol...
i really hope someone will sort it out with an app.
thanks in advance
searching for such an app, too
what happened with you @dariolob ??

I could really use such an app, I cant even connect my phone to the tv, both samsung devices and watch a video file that is on the phone.
