Hi all. I bought a GS3 on the weekend (uk unlocked,) I unrooted the phone in order to add the 4.2 camera but I am now wondering... If I was to root the device again would the camera app that I installed still be on the device? Also, how would I root it again? I am still using the stock OS but when I search for updates it recoginises that it is a modified unit. I have used triangle away and in download mode it says all is stock but it knows....
Any help would be great!

Hi do all XDA users. I'm oppening this thread in order to try repair this phone. When trying to make a call the phone disconect the dial.
The phone kernel is 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKL8-CL840182. In order to install another firmware I saw is not easy according this version, it's true?
It's locked to Uk Vod. If possible help me to root this phone. I tought was easy like my htc sensation but looks not.

What I meant is if it's possible to change roms.
You missplaced your thread. But it's been fixed by the forum moderators now.
About your problem, I suggest you to backup your important data, delete everything from the phone memory, and flash some stock ROM using Odin.
There are plenty of guides here on XDA to do so.
If you're still confused PM me in about 5 hours and I can help you in (Brazilian) Portuguese. Might be a little better.

Hey guys I just traded someone a Note 2 for this beautiful HTC one....I've always rooted my phones but with this one I'm actually questioning it. Why would we root ? Besides the bloatware removal..why? Also does LTE work on AOSP roms? Any feedback will be highly appreciated.

To be able to use own hosts file, create and restore backup with Titanium Backup.
Most important is: it is my phone I paid a lot, I want to do whatever I want with it.

Have a look in the Original Android Development section at the various AOSP roms available and you'll see what the roms support

I've installed the Google Play Edition found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43344766 and it works amazingly. Superfast, however I appear to have lost root access. How can I get this back? I was a bit confused as I read in the thread about the ROM that it was rooted.

Damn... Not sure how I missed that one. The other issue I noticed, even though I followed instructions I appear to have lost recovery mode. How can I get this back? Sorry for the questions. Learning about Android and custom ROMs

Oh... Yes, that's the one I explicitly mentioned. Don't know when will it be updated and put in the OP, but when it does I'll remove links and ask mods for closure. Just didn't wanted for important stuff to get lost.

I've downloaded twice, and when its done each time it warns me that the ruu can be harmful and should be deleted... I'm s-off, but when I try to run the ruu it says image error... Any thoughts?

I'm sorry to say, but it must be you and your setup. I just linked RUU from HTC's server, so I highly doubt it's bad (infected, damaged...).

Perhaps. But I'm no stranger to HTC devices and I've never ran into trouble using ruu's on this very setup. I'll just extract and try to grab the fastboot zip

OK my apologies man, its something on my end BC it won't follow through with the att ruu either... I was Google edition converted so I'll flash the going back to sense firmware then try this ruu again.
If anyone has been able to get this to work on a verizon m8 please let me know what mid you had to change it to or how you got it to work on your verizon m8.
There is another thread opened before this one where I believe some people got it to work on the verizon m8 also I just have not figured out what mid to change it to to get this to work because using the ruu utility from the other thread I always get the 159 image error every time.

Used this on my at&t m8 with supercid and soff. Worked flawlessly. By far the safest method to upgrade my firmware since att hasn't released 4.4.4 yet. Thanks for this!
Anyone know if the radio for this firmware is floating around? Still using an old att radio that came with stock att 4.4.2 fw
