Guarantee- no luck - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings. Today I just came across a new device from the guarantee, the old x8 restarting for no reason. I received the new phone, I had 11w29, as the eternal model, I tried to unlock bootloader, went well, and the last phase, I hung up, and no longer open, even if i charge it(on first x8, i had no problem). Whether it's the button or I try to put in recovery. Help,I don't know what to do. Excuse the English, not mastered very well.

Any idea ?

its a hard brick

I think it is hard brick, but not sure what happened. The old phone was identical (11w29) (11w48) and I unlocked without problems. Why it happened that? Know if this is the warranty repair?

from what i understood, the unlock process was somehow interupted, thats the problem, if your warranty is still active you can go to the repair shop....
"The old phone was identical (11w29) (11w48)"
what do you mean by that, which one was 29 and which one was 48, whats the identical of them?! if the one that hard bricked was 11w48 then there is nothing wrong its been hard bricked because it is 11w29+

It's hard to say exactly, but s1tool, are displayed two values, one with and another with 11w48 11w29, these values are identical to the two phones. I was even curious if something can be done to guarantee. The process was not interrupted, you just told me ainchid phone and finally, closed, and surprise, not answered. Now I have a brand new phone, which ran almost two hours.

man, open the back of your phone, remove the battery and see at the phone, there must be a number like that:11wxx or 12wxx (not the one at the battery, but the one on the phone!)
if that number is 11w29+ you shouldnt try to unlock bootloder!!!

Try use PCC and return to factory settings, to 2.1
After that try flash, bootloader, kernel, rom....

@Masograd, did you know what is hard brick? The phone is not detected by PC, or not charging, no signs of life.
@stamatis16 it's some problem right here. The old phone wrote here does not write anything with s1tool Only I saw that. Honorable to the old phone I had those pin plate, this can be seen in picture (golden point). I tried to unlock because s1tool showed me the same values(11w29), and I had no problem.

do you mean that you used this method?
why?!
you have remove the backsticker, do you remember what it used to write?(what number11w??)

No, that thought, that's why I attached a picture where because I can't read the anything(not write anything useful)(under battery). Now, s1_erom:r8a029, loader version: r4a045.

oh i see... now its bricked right?! you could have tried this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1700465
i dont know what that s1_erom numbers are, but i dont think they have anything to do with 11wxx

A small problem, phone is brick, and the warranty certificate is not passed new IMEI. But what I noticed, I have a code under the battery: SI; Type; S/N and... 12W03( written on the right, near the type code)... facepalm

Xperia won't boot

I got my cousins Xperia.
When I start the phone, it shows the green SE logo,
And after that I get a blank (backlight on) screen.
I do not see any Radio rom etc info...
Think the bootloaders is broken or whatso ever.
I'm a pro, so plz stfu with ur flash spl etc. etc....
Bootloader won't work,
Hard resetting using the hw keys did work, but after booting again the screen became blank....
It had one of Itjes WM6.1 roms on it...
Mayb time bomb or what so ever, but I don't know why I can't get into bootloader while HR does work....
so you can't flash a stock-rom via microsd-method either?
What happens when you try to get to the boot loader? Did he try to flash a ROM? How did this problem start?

Well the phone has some falling on the ground dmg.
This also happend when it felt down, he said the phone was acting weird, I soft-resetted the phone and this is what it does.
When I do volume down + Power, it just starts....
When I do softkeys+volumedown + power it does show me the HR information.
Tried HR, the phone restarts and then shows SE logo and after that goed blank (without showing radio, rom info etc...)
It should be hardware damage then. Nothing else fits. Anyway, if none of the hard reset/flashing methods work, there is nothing else to do, but send it for repairs .

Admin lock this thread, and thx all for support.
Insanity! there's got to be a solution to this, the exact same thing happened with my X1 but I swear to the love of god I NEVER even dropped the thing!
Guess what, it's fixed ^^
All I needed to do was download UpdateService for X1
I reinstalled all the software (it requires you to go to the tri-colored screen) and it works perfectly, yet again
hope this might be useful for someone

[Q] Relock Bootloader on P880

So I did some research on the xda forums about relocking the bootloader on the p880 and it seems like it is impossible.
My problem is, that under my screen there is an growing amount of dust, which really bothers me especially when I'm outside and the sun is shining on the display.
I would still have about 1 year of warrantiy left if i hadn't unlocked my bootloader, since it is impossible to relock again myquestion is if there is any way to change the text, that is displayed in S/W upgrade mode from "Bootloader: unlocked" to "bootloader: locked" so it would at least appear to be locked, when I send it in for repairs.
Thank you in advance!

They can't tell you unlocking bootloader makes dust under the screen but it depends on the terms of your warranty. In some regions warranty still works after unlocking since they can't prove that you done any demage to the device. First read your terms maybe you are lucky :good:
Thanks, but unfortunatly the terms say, that bootloader unlocking voids the warranty, I'm from Germany by the way...

does anybody have a solution for this?
You can try to flash the stock 4.0 rom (v10).

If you're from Germany, the unlocked bootloader shouldn't be a problem. I believe that European laws state that the warranty of electronics can't be voided by a change of software as long as that change didn't lead to the defect. In the case of dust under your screen, they probably won't even check your bootloader.
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
There's already a thread about your issue here
I believe that flashing an ICS firmware should at least "camouflage" your unlocked bootloader
Just in case, anybody ever needs this information: there is indeed a paragrahp in the european laws, that states that the seller always has to give you 2 years of warranty, even if you change the software, as long as you can prove that the error didnt result from that action.
I bought my phone from amazon.de so I will contact them in the next couple of days and I will report back here to tell you about the results!
Thanks for the help!
So my phone returned today. They fixed it without any problems, BUT they somehow relocked the bootloader, now it is impossible for me to open it again, as I always get a small red Text in the upper left hand corner that reads "LG SECURITY unlock permission denied"
I've been searching for a solution all day, but I found nothing :b

lg support has a habit of doing that. it may be permanently locked
It wasn't sent to LG it was sent to Amazon, and from there to W-Support, a german repair center thing.
I wonder how they managed to permanently lock it...also they messed up my display (there is some kind of white stuff under there :b)
an a part auf the plastic that surrounds the handy is broken, so I will send in in again and if I'm lucky i will get my Money back, because they hat the oppurtunity to fix the error 2 Times and they screwed up both times, so I now have the option to get my money back :b
I do believe that the Tegra 3 SOC has PROM guarded by a series of fuses. Contrary to EPROM and EEPROM, PROM can be changed only once. So, by unlocking the bootloader, there is no way to change it back. Unlocked bootloader stays like that forever. They can only replace the whole SOC to reverse the situation, but thats like putting another screen in an old TV - it's not the same on that came with the phone - the old one is still unlocked.
Thats what I wrote them, because I didn't want anything but the screen replaced and they didn't notify me in any way that my bootloader will be permanently locked, because if it really is permanently locked the handy is worthless for me. I would rather shoot myself than sticking with the stock Firmware
No, it cannot be relocked. Physically impossible.
It can only be "relocked" by replacing the whole Tegra 3 SOC inside the phone and I'm pretty sure they don't do that anywhere. Besides, if they were to do that, it means you get another brand new, unlockable bootloader to unlock using the same procedure as the last time

But i tried every possible way to unlock the bootloader again, and the tool from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263627
gave me the error: all fuses blown, bootloader permanently locked
all the other ways of unlocking just gave me the error "LG SECURITY unlock permission denied" no matter whoch one I used. I even tried EU-Open Firmware, and the german one
Did you actually try to flash a ROM or did you just probe the bootloader for unlocking?
Second, try the official way of unlocking.
I used every way of unlocking that I could find, after each try i checked the bootloader state in hidden menu and every time it read: LOCK
the I redid every way with the EU-OPEN .kdz but still no results
btw. the official way was the first one that I tried
So, you didn't try to flash any ROM other than official LGs'?
@UsernameWasTaken: It's true that you can't change burned bits in fuses. That's why our device is designed to use more bits for bootloader unlock checking and if all fuses are burnt, it means a locked state. So basically it can't be unlocked again as far as we know at the moment.
Sent from my OmniROM-powered LG Optimus 4X HD
@Adam77Root, yes, I've been reading upon this, but didn't realize that blowing all fuses locks the bl. I thought it meant blowing them with incorrect bits. This description is a little too technical and convoluted for an average reader, plus the writing style and language don't help one bit to easily understand what's going on.
So, presumably, one's phone's bootloader can and probably will be permanently locked by the repairmen, no matter if the owner messes with unlocking or not? They blow the fuses as standard procedure during repair, correct? Yet another d*ck move by nVidia.
As I understand it, there is a total of 16 fuses and all can be blown one at a time using this future81's method. Each separate fuse's current state defines whether the BL is locked/unlocked, or is it a combination of them?
All in all, I would guess that following the official unlocking method is a poorer choice than using future81's Unlock.apk, as long as there is no need to RMA the phone.
OP, I'm sorry they messed up your phone. If you can, replace or return it.
Main point is that you have 16 chances to change lock state, but once all fuses are blown, it remains in a locked state that can't be altered.
I don't think they blow the fuses always, but only if the BL has been unlocked. Maybe they want to punish users for being curious and messing with lock state.

QHSUSB_DLOAD, Dead Phone, Stock OS

My GFs HTC One, for the second time now (two different phones), has gone dead out of nowhere.
The first time she plugged it in and went to bed. All was well with it when it was plugged in. Woke up and nothing worked. No charging lights, nothing. Sent it in for warranty repair and T-Mobile/HTC said that the LCD screen was broke and that it was due to user damage (basically trying to say the phone was dropped, which it wasn't). They sent out a new phone, we sent back the broken one. A week later they charged our bill for the repairs and I had to call in 3 times in order to get them to finally waive those charges.
Now, a few months later, this new phone does the same thing. In the middle of using it, while it had plenty of battery, the screen went black. Same exact thing, would not power back on. Now we are in the process of waiting for the next phone to be shipped so we can ship this one back. And I'm fairly certain that they're going to try and use the same excuse again.
The only response that we get from the phone is when it is plugged into a computer and it asks to install the QHSUSB_DLOAD driver (which does nothing upon trying to install). After searching these forums, and Google, I noticed that everyone with this exact problem was trying to install a custom ROM. That is not the case with us. The OS on the phone's were never altered. The phone's were never unlocked. Nothing like that at all.
I don't really have a question that I'm asking here. From what I've read, it looks like the phone is basically bricked and there's nothing that can fix it. I just wanted to make this post so others know that this can happen to non-rooted phones too.
I'll follow up here once T-Moble/HTC give me the outcome of this second phone.
Exact same problem here.

QHSUSB_DLOAD = hard brick, needs motherboard to be replaced
Had same thing with HTC Sensation. Need to replase the main memory chip where OS stored.
Time for a new girlfriend, not a new phone.

Sudden death and...root !

My phone decided to not switch on any longer. The only sign of life is the notification led blinking red when is in charge, no way to access it with any program if I attach it to the PC with a USB cable.
I should send it to the Sony repairing center (still under warranty) but the phone is rooted; given its situation do they discover it ?
I had that exact problem. Turned out that the battery suddenly died after about a year.
In my experience they never care what stuff is currently on the phone. Instead they'll just flash it with the latest stock rom after fixing the hardware.
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. I really hope will be the same in my case as well. I'll post here what will happen.
PS I'm wondering about the batteries' quality: my daughter with a z1c had your same problem (a little more than one year life), you, may be myself... I know the sample is not significant but...
Same thing happened with mine & i was on a custom rom with unlocked bootloader...they probably had no way to get into the phone just like i couldn't so they probably couldn't tell it was modified...it was just a brick at that point...i noticed certain batches were affected by this sudden death and after pulling my tag out i noticed my phone was part of that batch that was poorly assembled in china...so brand new phone for me!

I have the impression they dont even check the software, they just flash a new fw and thats it. Or they dont care.

The only drawback is that the lost the tiny grill that cover the mic at the bottom of the phone !!!!!

Help, my XZ1 C was dead?

Hi!
Please help me!
I installed custom ROM(no SeLinux support) and tested two partitioning programs.
ROEHSOFT PARTITION TOOL
and
ROEHSOFT DRIVE-EXPERT
I did a partition recovery and reboot the phone.
Since then, it doesn't turn on, doesn't charge, no led feedback, can't see the pc, and no fastboot mode, completely dead.
I disassembled, disconnected the battery, but nothing happened.
Died?
What can you do with it even if your PC can't see it?
The two partition programs, in stock rom, did not start, but this rom (selinux is inactive) was ran.
What happened to him being completely dead?

Obvious question, have you made sure it’s turned off before you try to boot it? The screen might just be black but the unit still on.
Hold down Vol up (+) and power together until the phone vibrates three times. Wait a couple of seconds, then press the power button once to try and start it.
As long as the screen wakes up, then you’re in with a chance of getting PC Companion or Flashtool to see it and rescue it.
This was an unlocked phone? If no, then there's a slim chance that you haven't done any permenent damage and you might be able to re-flash.
If you don’t get any joy from a reset, then you have rodgered your partition table and there isn’t any way to bring it back from that.
@dustinzahn, in my opinion, changing partition is very risky. Most likely it is a brick already, no way to recover, if it does not enter fastboot nor sony flash mode.
RIP

Yes, unlocked, but hiding J4nn-s kernel, OEM closed the menu.
I tried everything.
It doesn't vibrate, can't detect the PC.
In old xperia's, touching testpoint fixed this and entered fastboot.

Hi!

Do you know the IMEI number?
You could register the phone on the Sony Warranty site , then call the helpdesk and say it's stopped working.
You might be required to provide some proof of purchase, but if it's within two years of its original sale, then it's covered by warranty (EU &UK).
Don't worry if you didn't buy it new, the warranty moves with the phone, not the purchaser. If it was sold through a service provider, putting the IMEI number in will tell you when it was origally sold and what, if any, warraty is left.
Edit: might be a bit late if you've pulled it apart

And the results of your testing?
I give up.
Sorry, my English is not very good, I use the google translator, I'm trying to be understandable.
Stupid Sony designed the motherboard that the test point section right on the bottom half. The phone must be disassembled from the display side.
It's almost impossible to press the test point and while using the usb.
I also broke the flex cable, and I was tired and irritated, so the display cable also damaged.
I tried all the existing "test points" , but nothing happened. He probably didn't survive the procedure.
If the motherboard is good, the display and the USB flex replacement is almost a used XZ1C price, so it landed in the drawer. It'll be good for decoration.
But I found my first smartphone, a sony ERICSSON Mt15i, Neo.
I was originally a Sony Ericcson fan.
The touch screen is bad, but I've already assigned it.
I have a z1 compact, there's the power + volume flex cable must replace, I also ordered it.
Neo now works with an OTG + mouse, but the Z1 Compact does not turn on without a button, only indicates charging.
The Hungarian Sony support was big ****, and the Hungarian warranty service doesn't want to help, even though I told them it's the phone no longer a warranty, all I'm asking is that you help me identify the test point.
But no, they're just indoctrinate me, and they think it can only be repaired by replacing a motherboard.
Yesterday I bought a Xiaomi MI Note 10 phone. It's awesome.
I hope the russel5's [Treble/Pie/XZ1c] crDroid will be there as well.
I liked this ROM, but the disabled SeLinux is a big problem, I think the problematic apk is because of what killed the phone. The STOCK and [Treble/Pie/XZ1c] AOSP Extended ROM did not start the apk, even though i gave him root right.
I think the CrDroid ROM's disabled SeLinux let it run.
Maybe the apk was infected, but I use Malwerbyte and Kaspersky.
The Apk name is ROEHSOFT PARTITION TOOL SD-USB and I download from the Aptoide.
I know I'm a ****ing idiot.
Partition program should not have been downloaded from there.
