[Q] Bricked or not - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I been looking for past few hours in this forum to find answers but cant.
Here is my problem.
Samsung Galaxy Note will not power on
It will go to download mode by pressing Vol down+home button and Power button.
I tried flashing few roms with Odin, seems to be all goes fine, but as soon phone restarts it stays on Samsung Galaxy Note screen. Also I get USB Not recognised on my PC when phone stack Samsung Galaxy Note screen.
Can please someone kindly explain to me step by step what to do to get it working.

Flash abyss kernel. Get into abyss kernel by reboot into recovery and do a full wipe (wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik) then flash a rom of your choice.

Thanks
Can you give me link to abyss kernel please :good:

Sorry, also how to flash kernel
Sorry for many questions, i am new to this, but learning fast

If you are flashing in Odin bare in mind there are 2 pit files one for the 16gb and one for the 32gb versions of the phone. It wont boot if youve used the wrong pit file

I tried every possible option
Flashed abyss kernel
Flashed stock firmware
Flashed pit file
Still same as soon it boots in Galaxy Note screen i get error USB not recognised, cant access in to recovery also

Power off your Note.
Hold Volume down & Home & press Power button. Then when you see the Samsung logo, let go of the Power button. Your phone will boot into Odin/download mode. Press Volume up when asked to. Now you are in download mode.
Connect your phone with usb cable to your computer.
On your computer, run PC Odin. You should see a yellow highlighted COM sign. If you don’t, download Samsung Kies and install it. Then plug-out and plug-in the micro-USB cable to your Galaxy Note and you should see it.
Then click on PDA, and select the pit file then press start.

Sir my advice go to dr ketans thread find pre rooted gb rom for your country start from the begining flash it via pc odin be patient read everything carefully... It is described there...

Can you get it into download mode without it turning off? (Hold volume down + home button + power) Or recovery? (Hold volume up + home button + power?) Is it rooted with clockwork mode?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Maybe its a boot loop. Switch off your phone and check if download and recovery mode is available(see next paragraph).
If so follow the steps mentioned.
First of all download xxjw4 firmware for galaxy gt-I9000 from
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/150483619/708026d/I9000XXJW4_I9000OXAJW4_XEU.zip.html
1) Put your phone into Recovery mode (Vol up + Home + Power button) and perform a Wipe data/Factory reset, then a Wipe cache. When done pull the battery out for around ten seconds then re-insert.
(If recovery isn't working ignore this step)
2) Put the phone into Download mode (Vol down + Home + Power button)
3) Unzip the JW4 firmware folder you've downloaded to your Desktop.
4) Launch Odin and click on the button that says PDA and navigate to the PDA file you've just unzipped to your desktop and select it.
5) Connect your phone to your PC via USB. Odin will say Added and a box will turn yellow to indicate it has recognised your phone.
6) Click the start button in Odin and sit back and wait for Odin to flash your phone. When it's finished it will take a few minutes longer for the phone to reboot than is usual so please don't panic. The phone will reboot.
7) When the phone has rebooted, remove the USB cable and you now have the latest 2.3.6. It might be a good idea to repeat step 1 to make sure nothing of the old firmware is left behind.
And that's it, seven steps to 2.3.6 JW4 Value Pack and TouchWiz 4.
In case you want more info about flashing go to this site
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/galaxy-s-gets-official-value-pack-firmware-xxjw4-includes-touchwiz-4/
Enjoy
idon't have a recovery the phone isn't root and but i can get to the download mod !
still i tried what you said with the odin and it doesnt work
the phone wasn't root before and had a stock from the operator
If its a boot loop try this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984140
If not download the files from sammobile (2.3.6 xxjw4) put the .tar file in the PDA and 512 pit file in the pit section make sure the repartition is ticked then if it still in a boot loop search for the cfs root and flash that then get the file off the thread I gave you then flash that to the phone as instructed on the thread then your phone should work edit* you need to put your phone into download mode before plugging in and flashing

yeah i know the basics ! but stil it doesnt work ! can it be a hardware problem? and if it right how can i fix it ?
Did you try that method? And when did it start turning off, did you try mpding it or did it just start doing it? Does it he a knock when it turns off or is it at the same place everytime? If it stays turned on in download mode its probably software related also make sure the drivers are installed using kies

Does Odin recognize your phone (com12 or something like that in yellow)
If not then try different USB port or also different cable and computer.
According to my experience if you are able to go to download mode then there is always a way to fix the problem

[Q] Galaxy Ace S5830C - cant acess download mode

I read some tutorials here in the forum on how to root your phone! I was able to successfully perform. Until that point, my phone was still booting android 2.3.3 (ginger) that came from the factory.
Then I went into recovery mode and installed 5.0.2.6 ClockworkMod! Installed successfully too! Then I tried to install some roms modified for the S5830I, as read on the internet that the roms of them are compatible with the S5830C.
I tried the first version of the ICS lite and basic, the two images, when installed by clockwork gave no error messages in the terminal, but when you restart the machine could not boot the system.
I installed and booted each version of the ICS modificias separately. I tried other roms. gave some errors "gep.prop" because of non-compatibility with my model. In the end, tried to use the method with ODIN, but my phone can not boot the mod download! Yes, I tried all the tutorials!
I know I need to press the home button, power, volume down (...) I tried to use the ADB "adb reboot download", and also got no answer!! So ODIN does not detect my phone! Percebir also that the recovery mode always resets to a version e3 (I think it is the factory default recory) with this recovery can not seem to wipe the cache or data.
Really broke my phone? Why the hell i can get a good status of installation with the roms but can not boot them?
It's a classic
Yes you did break your phone, unless you try this last trick:
take out your battery
wait until your phone is completly uncharged internally (an hour or so)
go to a hot place like a radiator or somthing like that
do the "download mode trick" with the battery still out
put the battery in while still holding the buttons
repeate if it doesnt work
when you get the downloadmode, you are a lucky person. the rest you seem to know how it works... simply flash a new rom
I hope it works!
samsung galaxy ace unbrick clockworkmodace.zip
based on my experience, i unbrick my friends samsung galaxy ace gt-s5830i 2.3.6

first download odin 1.85
second download PDA zip file from this link

instructions:
1. run odin,( run as administrator) right click on the exe file and choose run as administrator
2. while you device is off, plug your usb connector to your computer
3. hold volume up + volume down + power at the same time, wait for the battery charging logo appears, then wait for the battery logo disappear then unpress power botton then your phone will go into download mode and will be recognize by odin..
if Odin already recognize your device click on PDA and insert the PDA file you downloaded. then click start. dont change the setting in odin.
after that you successfully bring back life to your brick samsung galaxy ace.
Note: make sure you already installed samsung kies on your computer for USB issues. this will help your device to be recognize by odin.

[Q] Please Help

So I just got a Galaxy Ace (S5830i) and was all excited to root etc.. with no problems. I browsed the net and stumbled upon Jelly Blast which I flashed (correct place to use that term?) with no problem. Decided I didn't like it so wanted to go back to the original settings. Researched that a bit and flashed (again not sure if it's the right term) back to retribution. However since then I haven't been able to use my phone.
I just get Samsung boot screen. I couldn't enter recovery mode however could enter download mode. I followed this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989&page=4
however got stuck in Odin on a zimage. After 10 mins or so my phone turned it's self off and now will not turn on. I'm mortified and have no idea what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Wish I'd never played with it now :crying:
PS. Know I'm an idiot..

what abt battery charge?? if its fine probably ur on hard brick...check this steps If your phone doesn’t boot into download mode..
Step 1 – Prepare odin with the firmware u want to flash (go and find firmware in samobile.com and use odin 3.75 ==>its in my skydrive:laugh: )
Step 2 – Remove battery and connect your galaxy acei to the computer;
Step 3 -- Insert battery holding Volume down + Power + Home
Step 4 – At this point Odin should have detected your SG Acei ( Yellow rectangle should appear);
Step 5 – Click Start button in Odin and wait about 5 min.
If all goes well it should come back to life.

Hi Thank you
Think maybe it's hard bricked? Will not go into download at all. Followed all the above steps. When I put the cable in with no battery and hold volume and power buttons the computer registers something is plugged in with tudung sound however almost instantly disconnects it with dutung sound. Odin doesn't get a chance to detect my ace.
Any further suggestions?

I suggest unistalling, cleaning traces of your current Samsung Mobile phone Driver, then re-installing a clean driver from the below link. The fact that Windows detects your phone for a second or so confirms that it is detectable.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11633550
Once this is please confirm back to us if Windows detects your phone.

Friend,
I had similar experience, my phone doesn't show GT -S5830i boot menu, no recovery mode, no screen activity on download mode (Odin). But odin in my PC detects com port correctly when connected via USB and pressing [volume+ volume- power button ]
But I finally managed to flash via Odin and my phone worked properly.
I'll give you that Odin package and PDA, modem, csc files after uploading to share site.
Don't worry, this is an Android community, we are all ready to help you.

[Q] Bricked Galaxy tab p1000 ?

Hello,
I have a Galaxy tab p1000 which is bricked (I think).
I get this menu when it boots up: (I'm new here and posting links is not alowed for me )i.imgur.com/1a0unwF.jpg
None of the options work.
I can't get my pc to recognize the device though. So flashing something with Odin or Heimdall doesn't seem to work.
Do you think this is fixable?
Help will be much appreciated,
Thanks
Can you boot to download mode?
(From off state, hold Vol-Down arrow, then press power button until the screen lights up. Then let go of power but hold on to Vol down).
In download mode, if Odin/heimdall detects, then flash stock rom.
For example, use Overcome method linked to in my signature.
Make sure yours is P1000 for that to work.

I can put the tab in download mode. When I open Heimdall -Utilities- Detect Device->Detect
It says Device detected. But Odin doesn't detect it.

Okay. So I reflashed it this time using your GB-Stock-Safe-v5 files and it worked.
I can't believe it. Thank you so much for this.

It seems that you are in great trouble, according to my knowledge u need to get your device serviced somewhere or if can get the tool that you need
. You need a hardware called Downloader
if u can get it you jus need to plug it into your device on the Micro Usb port i,e the charging hub and switch on your deive it will straight away take you to the download mode Then unplug the Downloader and plug in the usb cable and flash it to stock using odin,
I have given a thread how to flsah galaxy ace back to stock using odin check that too...
Good Bye

Flash a TOUCH recovery and wipe data/factory reset and cache partition to avoid the bootloop
