[Q] Is it ues the Gorilla Glass? - LG Optimus 4X HD

I don't like the screen protector. so my galaxy s2 don't use any protector now.

Yes, its got Gorilla Glass 1.
On a German Forum someone asked LG, cause there were no Information about that and they confirmed it has Gorilla 1

ZAGG invisible shield screen protector video review

Hi guys, just wanted to share this video I made reviewing ZAGG's invisible sheild for the samsung galaxy ace.
Overall it is a great product, and I will highly recommend it. The only problem being that it is not a perfect fit, nevertheless it feels great and it is one of the few that offers a complete protection to the front, the back and the sides.
It only retails for $15 if you only want the screen cover, and $25 if you want the full body.
You can purchase the product in their website: http://www.zagg.com/
I searched google and many users complain about the resistive touch effect of the shield..What can you say about that?..

[Q] Which glass is being used?

Title says it all, which glass is Sony using for it's XPERIA Z's back and front? Corning Gorilla Glass, Dragontrail, unknown manufacturer? I've seen many articles and they all seem to say something different. Anyone with a definite answer? Thanks in advance.
Front: Dragontrail
Back: Gorilla Glass II

Could you explain why on earth they use 2 different manufacturers? Doesn't make any sense to me.

No he can't since he doesn't work for Sony.
And even if he did, he would just have said that the phone uses tempered glass aka we will never? get an answer why they used different kinds of glass, we can only speculate.
Maybe one glass if better to swipe (aka touch screen) and the other has more grip??? Pure speculations:silly:

It doesn't make sense to me either. Maybe Dragontrail is very expensive and they decided to protect the screen with it ? Have no idea mate but that's what Sony confirmed on their Hong Kong press conference.
Before I got my Xperia Z I have spoken to the official Sony rep in Poland. I have asked him a lot of questions about the glass that they use on the phone. The way he explained it is that Sony has many different suppliers. The glass is supplied by either Corning (Gorrila Glass 2) and whoever makes DragonTrail. Noone will be able to tell you which glass is on your device as it can be either. You could have GG2 on front and back, DT on front and back or a mix of the 2.
Either way both glass types are tempered glass. On top of that the back of the phone has a antiglare layer on it, so if you try to do a scratch test on that glass you will take the layer off.
Hope that clarifies everything.
Really what difference does it make what glass they use? They are shatter resistant like most other phones glass screens.
There is obviously a reason they choose two different types, again it doesn't really matter, it just works.

So read/search the forums instead of creating yet another thread of the same questions, already answered so many times.
why are any of you so sure it is Dragontrail or Gorilla glas Sony are using ? they never said anything about what glass type it is... only describe it as mineral glass
All you need to care about is that the glass is strengthened in the phone, and has a layer to assist in the phones resistance to shattering. You are getting a flagship phone with high specs for your cash.
Really who cares in reality, Do any of you ask which saftey glass is in your car windscreen. If you do, then seriously get a life.

Glass and firmware

1) I read on a thread here that because of the type of screen on the z3c, you should use pet vs tempered glass. Why is this? Why would tempered glass be bad?
2) what is the advantage of the US firmware? Why is it needed if at all? Is it official?

1: wtf is pet glass?
Why would it matter what screen protector you use?
2: There is no difference in firmware, many times the difference is just the bloatware that's included.

PET isnt glass, it is just a screen protector. I agree with you and don't get it - someone else made the claim

People claim all kinds of bs.
I really don't see why it wouldn't be advised to use a glass screen protector.

While I haven't used a screen protector with my S4, I used to use ghost armour products because they will install for you and generally have front and back protection. This time around I've ordered a tempered glass screen protector. The Z3 compact sounds less hardy and a glass protector is supposed to be clearer and more touch sensitive. Prices are comparable so I'll give it a try.

Same here. I had it on my Google Pixel 2XL and its been for almost 3 years. Granted, there were hairline scratches/cracks but it was barely noticeable from multiple drops. I did remove it prior to selling and the screen was flawless.
I desperately need a good tempered glass, as the most found in the Indian market, doesn't work with fingerprint lock, and Indian users here

S21U comes with the curved display eh. No matter what, the sides of the TG wont stick properly on the curved edges. And Of course I haven't come across any TG offering fingerprint sending compatibility. I had to go for the Gadgetshieldz full body screen protector along with the stock case. It works perfectly fine with the fingerprint sensor. https://www.gadgetshieldz.com/mobile-screen-protectors/
