ace slowdown - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i rooted my device once but unrooted it afterwards....
now i hav reseted the factory settings n flashed the initial ops file into it. but it strangely crashes vn working on it and evn the phone has become a bit slow in response...
if anybody has a solution please help...

U need to 2 do a re-flash and full wipe, that will solve your problem
From what u said, your system for some reason has became unstable!, factory reset wont help u since that will only restore default settings and wipe data partion.
next time please post in Q&A Section , take care and good luck

Thread moved.
Posting in a correct section is one of our rules, same as helping others.
So basically you should help and advice to post in a correct place next time.
OP of this thread will be warned when I'll find some free time.

[Q] How to restore SGS to working condition?

Updated: Thought I'd mention I'm on Bell (Canada) i9000m.
After upgrading my Slacker Radio App (not sure if it's related or not) my SGS restarted and went into a boot loop.
I would like to wipe out my phone (kernel and rom) and start off fresh.
I am able to enter download mode but don't know where to go from here.
Please help (even a link to a thread w/ instructions would be greatly appreciated).
Have you tried just going into recovery (vol up + power + home) and doing a factory reset?
Here u r mate, take ur time,(better be safe than sorry) put ur question here & ill try to help

I have voodoo installed and obviously I can not disable it (due to boot loop).
Can I still flash a stock rom/kernel?

alright buddy, look. I appreciate any help you may or may not provide to me at this given moment. but what you are doing, is essentially spamming. I'm asking a question on THIS thread, in relation to my problem. I have searched these forums AS WELL AS the internet itself. And granted, I might have overlooked something. But as a community, thats what these forums do. their purpose is to help those who may have overlooked something or perhaps the solution is yet to exist.
By telling me to search, is more counterproductive than for me to post something and not get a reply.
like I said, I appreciate the help, if any, but its best to be a gent about this sort of thing. no one likes a douche bag on the forums.
EDIT:: Those links were completely useless. they're just links from the top of the SGS general page. I'm not an idiot; I've seen and read these threads before. CLEARLY they were of no help. why else why I be here? -___-

Cos you are to f8888 lazy to search or read the FAQS matey .
thousands posting just like you to lazy to search or learn .
Even to ignorant to read the post i sent that would have enabled you to flash a stock rom and clear your problem .
If it good enough for other users then it should be good enough for somebody that does not understand the basics as they are the basics .

*facepalm* the reason your posts did NOT help, is simply because I have already tried those things. And you u bother searching long enough, you will see these "solutions" have bee posted before. except in more detail. I have searched. Heck Ive spent hours and even days on this problem alone. Not only have I searched, but ive managed to read 95% of all forums in full. and no one seems to have a SOLID solution. WHICH is why I've succumb to asking the question myself.
yes. I have flashed various of pit files with various combos of boot-loaders and roms AS required by some users. I have even done some steps individually AS required by some users. The FARTHEST I've gotten with ANY of these procedures was reaching the custom recovery menu. yet once i got that far, tried doing a factory reset and flashing a ROM, it told me some file was missing. Then I was back to square one.
thanks. but no thanks, JJE. ur "help" seems to relate more to typical "n00b bashing" rather than any sort of help at all.

[Q] I dont know abc of rooting GNOtE

I am new to rooting. I want to install a great custom ics rom...but dont know which is the best out there.
I dont even know ABC of rooting, and need a detailed guide!!!!!
Look at the stickies in the development section. There's a reeeeally good thread on rooting. Just read and learn. Also, next time post in the right section please, this isn't a theme or an app and thus, does not belong in the themes and apps section

Wait a minute, you're too lazy?? Too lazy to post in the right section? You should read. You should understand what you're doing. And you should not be 'too lazy' to do your own research and post in the proper section.

[Q] Am i posting it wrong?

Hi
I'm new to forums. But I like this one. People are discussing stuff instead of complaining about their devices. I'm learning a lot. But I still need an answer to my question. And I don't think it's very complex. So I thought maybe I'm posting it wrong. Is there anything else one should do to get there post replied to. Like tagging it in some way. It's not a complaint. I really wanna know to be able ro enjoy the forum fully.
Cheers
You don't need to do anything special. What is your question?
Oh cool
Hi
Thank you very much indeed for replying. I was just wondering if it was safe to update a rooted galaxy 8.9. I got the update message in my settings so it's a proper factory official update but I've never done it before so I was a bit worried after having read about some bricked phones and (don't even know what bricked means but sounds scary).
And if you could answer another question as well please that would be really nice.
Recently my tablet crashed in a weird way so I had to reinstall every single application on my tablet. After the crash every single app was force closing and it asked me for the date and the region. Since then it crashes not very often but regularly. So I thought maybe I need to do a hard reset or even reflash the rom. But now, as far as understand, updating my firmware should sort it out for me. Am I right in thinking so?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have not heard of anyone who has bricked their gt8.9 updating a rooted device. You possible loose root when you update, but you can just flash the root.zip again. In worst case you end up with a soft brick, this can be fixed with flashing stock firmware with Odin.
If you are having random crashes, i would start with factory reset. Please dont forget to backup before, because factory reset will delete everything on your tablet.
Update to latest version. Latest versions are a lot better then early builds.
Hope this helps.
Thank you very much indeed.
Will I be alright following the instructions in this forum's guide on how to use the ODIN?

Yes, but i don't think you are going to need Odin. Just click update. If you get any problems, then let us know and I'm sure that there is someone here who will help you restore stock firmware if needed.
This thread has nothing to do with me and I have nothing to contribute other than to say that you're a class act, poisike. Too many people on XDA think it's OK to be rude to newcomers and that obnoxious comments about using search add value to the board. +6 internets to you.

Rooting

First of all,hi guys.I am new to rooting.I just installed the official JB update for my S Advance and there are a few bugs which I understood could be solved using that No-Frills app.Could anyone post a link or just explain the safest and easiest way to root my phone so I can use that app?
Also,if anyone got those bugs fixed otherwise, please give me other advice, the problems are:
-720p videos tend to freeze my phone
-battery drains without no apparent reason sometimes
-games sometimes work like a charm but other times they barely work, freezing and so on
-random freezes of apps that shouldn't,like text messaging or simply pressing the home key
Sorry if other threads about this already exist.I honestly tried to find some answers to my question but a lot of things around this forum are completely new to me.
Also, besides the other things,a link or explanation on how to downgrade ro 2.3 back (just in case) would be great.
Thanks in advance!

Google Play Store unable to download apps

So a few days ago I was on Orange Fox Recovery. I flashed Havoc OS ROM and I flashed Gapps. I rebooted back to system and my device was fine until I couldn't press the Home button and Tab button on the navigation bar. I also couldn't download apps on the Google Play Store (as in when I pressed the install button, it carried on saying "waiting for download"). I wonder if this is something to do with the Gapps I flashed it was the pico version. I'm back on MIUI but I'm just wondering what could've been the problem?

You seem new to the xda community, but that's not a problem, everyone has to start somewhere ! A few suggestions :
1- You have posted in the wrong section of this device as per xda rules; you should post in the Q&A section for people to reply to your queries, since this is the development section.
2- Provide helpful info about your device and which software version (base vendor, Miui version, Gapp log from SD card, lastrecoverylog.log, etc.) is installed. If you don't know how, ask there too.
3- Deleteing the post will help keep the section clean, Do your part ! Ask there and I will try to help you, although I am no expert. :highfive:

Two ways:
1. Pm a moderator about it. Or
2. Report your own post and write that you want to delete it. Simple really, just not doable on the xda app as far as I know. So use a browser to do that.
