CM10 Jelly Bean demonstrated on the Optimus 4X HD! - LG Optimus 4X HD

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Cyan...running-on-the-LG-Optimus-4X-HD-video_id32238
So glad I got the phone, the CM10 dev shows most everything working but the new Google Now and Search apps, but such a progress for one week is still amazing!

this means that they have root already

Watched the vid on YouTube , can't wait to get them beans running on this thing

If thats a developer 4x HD, then we need a bootloader dump.
If we can get an unlocked/engineering bootloader and flash it to the device we have a lot of possibilities.
On the HTC sensation, one of the early methods was using an engineering bootloader.

From Ricardo Cerqueira's google+, he mentioned that this is not exactly a retail unit of 4X but the early development unit... he will use nickname "aremcee" if he post in xda... a great cm dev!

lg optimus x4 developer edition
Hello all, First things first I love this site all the members on here are great, and you developers are so wonderful with all that you do, its just blows my mind how smart people can get when they put there minds together, every phone I had you guys help me make it that much better. when I came to this site I never turned back thank you all. Well I come in need of some help again, please don't be mad if I posted in wrong area I am totally new here this my first post ever. OK for the question I came across LG Optimus x4 HD developer edition I am not a big fan of LG but I thought if it a try oh was I wrong. The problem the phone is having, is it can't startup it freezes on LG logo what happened was I installed wrong apk when trying to install busy box I restarted phone and everything went south from there. Frozen lg logo. I went into CWM Touch recovery v6.0.1.1 wipe factory resets went into recovery, it started up great, but then boom error abort,I restarted phone, now I cant get into CWM, it just sends me into factory mod settings of recovery. I tried everything to get back in to CWM and nothing working. so pretty much the phone has no rom or CWM on it but I know I have a perfect CWM recovery saved on my computer and no way to use it because no CWM on phone.
I tried ADB push, recoveries, apk roms nothing works.
I even tried KDZ factory roms and we know that dont work
I tried calling LG, LG siad this to me, Will you didn't get the phone from us so we cant help you then they hang up, I thought they would say say something like that. LG is always take a bite out of there company when they don't help there brand not to bright LG. So that didnt work
I am almost ready to dump this phone, it a nightmare
what I know is I have a CWM recovery that should work I pulled it out of the first recovery I made, but if cant install CWM via ADB or zip that recovery is no good to me is there a way to install CWM Touch recovery v6.0.1.1 outside on the ICS rom rather then using a apk?
Well anyways if you anyone can think of anything to get this phone up and running I am all ears just P.M. me. Thanks for all your time XDA members. May all the Androids take over our phones

I didn't understood very well... your phone is a developer edition or what?

I still do not know a solution for this. Just know that we must unite and help as much as we can. My phone has the same problem, but I'm sure that sooner or later it goes back to normal. God will help us. God bless Smartphones, I read the bible in it.

Lg 2X Bot loader to be unlocked

:fingers-crossed:
Hi Developers and guys.
I have seen bootmanager android from which we can flash up to 5 custom roms on our sd card without touching our phone actual rom,
i have mailed the developers of bootmanager to include our 2X in there supported device, but got a reply from them " The lg phone doesnt give us access to the parts of the phone we need to edit to make the app work ",
i think they want to unlock the boot loader, but they not get any success in it,
so my question is to the great developers and programmers can we make a similar app for our lovely 2X, or can we unlock the boot loader for them....
Wrong section sir, you should post it to Q&A threads.

I know but if i posted it in Q&A threads no one will reply to it, my concern is to ask developers to make a similar app for our phone so we can also have dual boot phone, while having custom GB 2.3 we can test and try ICS with out flashing directly to our phone, as u know ics is still buggy and with out H/W acceleration.
Im sure that they are having issues in bootloader to search and boot the rom from sd card, i think rusty the maker of cwm may help us in this...

Its not a thing as i also know that after playing with roms i can restore nandroid, but actually what im trying to say is that if we can dualboot our phone then we can have stable and daily use rom in our phone, and we flash any nighty or beta builds on our sd card with out disturbing our actual stable rom, just reboot your phone to go in to the stable daily use rom.

As already mentioned in this thread, you can message them back and tell them that there are no restrictions whatsoever. The bootloader is unlocked, hell you can even change partition sizes with NVFlash.

That's a) not true and b) no reason. dev section doesn't mean that everything development related goes in here but that this is for posts from developers who have created "it". Thus I asked a mod to move the thread to the right section.
By the way: With Rusty and me two RCs are regularly reading the Q&A section, and lots of other really capable people are as well.
Regarding the dual boot: Several people had tried it but it didn't work (yet).
Modding the bootloader and including a bootmenu is probably pretty tricky and time consuming.
I don't really see a reason for dual boot anyways, you cannt use the same data folder on combinations like Stock/CM9. The amount of time to make dualboot happen on the 2x is better spent on other things, in my opinion.

[Q] Please help! =S CyanogenMod 9

First of all, I accidentally originally posted this in the Motorola Droid RAZR HD forum, as I did not notice there was a tab for other devices so I just picked the first Motorola phone I came to. That thread can be deleted & I'm sorry for doing that...
Soooo I just bought this Motorola XT860 off someone the other day. They didn't tell me it has this CyanogenMod 9 on it, & I just want the phone to have the stock OS/firmware/whatever on it. I don't know the first thing about this stuff & I'm a little upset that I didn't look at the phone more before I got it, but that's my own fault. Can anyone give me some guidance here? I haven't been able to find anything helpful by Googling it, everything I can find is for other devices. Please advise.
Download an international stock rom and flash it. Look in the dev forum. On how to do it. Or if it shows up safe strap when you boot it up you can push the menu button and access it then turn safe mode on and it switches back to stock if the person originally had stock before they flash safestrap

[JB] A hope to revert to ICS and get root!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2084935
Did anyone tried this?
Actually here is the hope:
When my JB on XT925 something went wrong, I was able to go back to ICS 4.0.4 with the utility 1.10.
However, it will install the Verizon version of 4.0.4 on your phone, so if you are with another provider, it will say that your SIM card does not mach the current network (Verizon).
But, it will let you update to JB of your choice & install the CWM-SuperSU-v0.99 (for root) on your XT925 .
So, as a the last resort reason, you can use it on XT925.

I would try the to delete getvar from the Atrix HD ICS sdf but I'm saving up for another Honda Accord.... Being unable to root makes this phone useless but I'm not ready to give up on it just yet. I might say fu ck it and try after my daughter goes to sleep tonight.
I bricked my phone :highfive: but only after I tried to flash the Verizon Motorola Droid RAZR HD VZW_XT926_4.0.4-7.7.1Q-144_VQW_S3-34-25_CFC files. I knew what was gonna happen. I was hoping for a miracle.
RSD LITE only says "Dqhsusb_dload"
I think I'm gonna get a Galaxy S3 now.

well, if you use it as a phone to make actual real voice calls, Motorola is just better than the others.
Some people are ok with the JB update but for myself with a lapdock, ICS was more suited for my needs; I would go back to ICS in a heartbeat.
(I'm even close to sell the Atrix HD and get a new one, just not to update it to JB.)

The DROID RAZR HD XT926 CAN go back to ICS as the secure version did NOT increase in the Jellybean update.
On the Atrix HD, it has increased for the official Jellybean.

Xt926 is a dev version.. But the second post shows a guy who reverted jb to ics with a xt925!

Need tester for rsd back to ics method

WARNING THIS MAY BRICK UR PHONE,
I need an USA resident that has a contract with ATT for testin, for more info pm PLZ, ASAP
This will only help you guys out.
One tester that has an att contract and is willing to get a warranty replacement if it does not work, is all that is needed. The process was verified on the RAZR and we did something similar on the Atrix2.
If this works you might be able to go back to ICS from JB to root and use something like root keeper to get JB back, just a thought here.
And yes I know most of you do not know me, but I was one of the Devs on the Atrix2, and I am now a free agent so to speak while waiting for the Ubuntu Phone OS to drop, so I am just trying to help a few of you out here, and triloger asked me to take a look at this with him.
There are no guarantees, but this is worth a shot.
As jim said its worth giving a shot

inbox for all the instructions

Thank you testers! I would offer too if my phone were not already on jb.

I tried downgrading, to no avail. I upgraded to JellyBean 4.1.1 via OTA and lost root (whoops), so I tried flashing back to ICS 4.0.4. It wouldn't let me, so I decided to reflash ICS a few more times. Nothing bad happened until the last try, which bricked my phone. I'll confirm (for now) that you unfortunately cannot go back to ICS from JB on an AT&T Atrix HD. :C
I dont know if he is even working on a method anymore....
I would donate if I knew he was capable/willing to figure out how to root or roll back the AHD.

Please excuse my ignorance

If you have a GSM Dev Edition you can do all that stuff. I believe that AT&T's and Verizon's Moto X's are locked.
You can use Safestrap, which creates a partition which you can flash custom Roms, but I believe you have to be on Android 4.2.2 to do it. All it does is create a partition so the official android version is always there and you will have less storage to use by using safestrap. There are no custom kernels for Safestrap to my knowledge.

You'll likely be dead before a bootloader leak comes out. Lenovo being in charge will change nothing. If an OEM wanted their phone on VZW or ATT, they're going to have to play by the carrier rules.

Why exactly do you need a custom recovery? There aren't any roms worth flashing, not when Moto got it right with the software. There aren't any kernels either. Root gives you access to Xposed which gives you access to GravityBox and native tethering.
If you really need a custom recovery, return or trade your phone for a Dev edition.
I'm not 100% sure but I think you can use J Case's SlapMyMoto for the Moto X's with a locked boatloader. But you'll need to be ready to put in some work because it looks a little confusing with downgrading to 4.2.2 then upgrading back to 4.4. I'm not very experienced with all this stuff either so I could be wrong. Might be worth checking it out though just in case.

I personally think OP should stick to Samsung devices and/or Nexus devices for now. Most of the dev-support breaks down to those two devices anyways. Also, the fun of Moto X lies in the fact it's really good with Stock ROM by itself with its special features. Installing Custom ROMs removes the primary reasons for even considering Moto X (active notification/touchless controls/motorola assist).
Well part of the fun of Android is being able to customize it, if all i wanted was a locked down OS id get an iphone and be just another flappybird idiot , there wouldnt be a need for XDA , maybe they can open an xda site for non custom stuff , most of you on here who have been using motorola products should do yourself a favor and try samsung or htc and find out what youve been missing ,sure there phones are good stock, but there amazing customized. I dont want to buy a Corvette that i cant customize to my own liking, just saying

Sorry to inform you, but if you're still in the return period, you should return that phone. AT&T and (regular) Verizon version are bootloader locked, there are no way to unlock them yet, if ever. You should get the GSM Developer edition, you can unlock its bootloader without voiding your warranty, then you can easily use fastboot to flash custom recovery and flash anything.
Also don't let other tells you how you should use the phone, it's Android, use it however you like. However, you should be careful next time to not buy locked down devices like AT&T and Verizon carrier locked phones, it's pretty much a given. Go with international unlocked, developer edition or Google Play edition. Also some phones are more moddable than other. Nexus phones give you unlimited freedom in term of flashing and customizing.
There is no reason to buy a AT&T locked devices if you intended to pay full price for the device, get the unlocked version instead, they will work on AT&T.

what modding and flashing is there if the bl is locked ? sure you can put fancy themes up there , but is there? Without recovery (custom recovery) , there is no flashing mods , custom mods, theres really nothing else , those of you who have been stuck in Motorola world (which by they way they made the cpu for apple for many years as well, a main reason why apples sucked too) , should try something by an unknown chinese company because those will be the only androids worth messing with in the years to come, or go get an sIII or Note , start modding and getting a custom recovery and then tell me how great stock is!
