This is my first ROM - compiled on AOKP source !
... after several settings and adjustments ( for few days ) - now I managed to successfully boot the first porting rom based only on AOKP - ICS 4.0.4 source !
...for now ...please don't ask me now what work and what not ! ....I'll release for you ( for testing ) my first build in few days ! , I will also make available a GitHub for download device tree for your device ! - that's not soon because I plan to go on vacation , so I'll do starting in September !!!
...I will begin the real work also in September for porting successfully AOKP source ! ( for customizate, overclock kernel and so on ! ) .

Installation : Now should be work on all devices Gen9 !!!
...connect USB cable to PC and ( you need to use a Rom with root access ) :
> adb shell
# stop
# cd data
# mv local .local
# mv media .media
# rm -r *
# mv .media media
# mv .local local
# exit
> adb push archos.ext4 /mnt/storage ( need to wait about ~150 seconds ) !
> at the same time do : adb reboot & press and keep volume down ; in SDE -> DEM-> Remove Android Kernel ( if exist ) -> Flash Kernel & Initramfs -> copy here zImage & initramfs.cpio.gz -> OK -> wait to reboot !
( this instructions should be work well for both devices : flash & hdd !!! )
If you are in boot loop - just reset the device - will be ok after reset !

AOKP for Archos Gen9 on GitHub !
Hi !
I have updated my GitHub with AOKP tree for Archos Gen9 !
- I made an automatic build, so only you need : connect USB cable on PC and run my script !!!! if your environment ( linux machine ! ) is set properly...you'll get your system AOKP build in about 1 hour ! ( depends on your system configuration ! )
For use my GitHub you need to have installed on your device Deodexed Rom ! , also you need to have FileManager.apk in system/app/ !!!
GitHub - aokp tree for archos gen9 ! => GitHub !
- for build all your source AOKP - for your device , you need to do just 3 steps :
- 1° > chmod a+x archos.sh
- 2° > . archos.sh
- 3° > in the last step you need to choose : your device corresponding number from the list that appears below and press Enter ! ( eg. 38. aokp_archos_gen9-userdebug ) , so input 38 & Enter !
Your build will be ready : in about 1 hour - but is highly dependent on machine performance !!!

the 3g works?

...building AOKP from source , app Settings.apk have some issue ! ( when select Settings->Storage ->"Unfortunately , Settings has stopped." ).
I'm trying also to decompile Settings.apk but I get some issue ...
All apps and also framework-res.apk - cant be decompiled without issue ...so, seem to be some build error in seetings !
...that's why did not found if sdcard work or not ! ...also some settings in Settings menu are not enable !
Now try to redownload the source , recompile and I'll upload soon the archos.ext4 - even if I fail to solve Settings issue !
( Not work - sdcard, 3G , hdmi ? - not cheched yet & some custom AOKP settings in Settings menu , also occurs rarely this error : android.process.media has stopped! )

This is an update to previous version Custom Rom Honeycomb 3.2.1 , Firmware 3.2.80;
This Custom Rom ( CR) , is ROOTED, BUSYBOX work well ( fixed all error !) , Su and Superuser already installed .
Now work for HDD model !
The overclock is present but is not activated. ( You can activate by replacing in /system/etc/init.d/Stweak - line # echo xxxxxxxxxx > /proc/opptimizer with exemp. : echo 1222000000 > /proc/opptimizer )
All the files is under UPDATE.zip : => http://www.4shared.com/zip/wUWC2y87/UPDATE.html
If you can not download , here have the same CR with pre-enable Overclock => http://hotfile.com/dl/149057638/e1b2030/PRE_ENABLED_OVERCLOCKING.zip.html ( your details in the second post on down side ....UPDATE...).
What you need to know :
- download UPDATE.zip, unpack and copy archos.ext4.update into /data/media or /mnt/storage .....reboot into SDE and copy zImage and initramfs.cpio.gz in a new driver ! - ok! flash and and wait for restart .
- you can install over the old version or on clean install ....works well for both !
- the restart will take longer .....may be even 2~3 min.
The CR include :
- windows animations ;
- some icons changed;
- some app added in /data/app for NOT FC ;
- adjust audio volume;
- now working 3G port On/OFF;
- you can update su binary into Superuser without error ! ( see picture 4 );
- possibility of Overclocking ( take great care not to damage the device !!! );
- enable vibrator ;
- add some wallpapers and live wallpapers;
This CR is stable, without any error and can be used as a daily Rom !!!

How overclock your device ?
INFO :
Overclocking Edition !
Edit the script Stweak with Root_Explorer or any other app into /system/etc/init.d/Stweak , changing the line
.........................................................
# echo xxxxxxxxxx > /proc/opptimizer
...........................................................
with a number of your choice ( ex. 1.3GHz = 1300000000)
............................................................
echo 1300000000 > /proc/opptimizer
............................................................
For the changes to take effect you don't need to reboot the device , just press long Stweak , choose Open With , choose Linux Script Handler and Execute !
Note: must be run after every reboot !
Now test the changes you made : just open CPUBoost and take a look into CPU Max Speed , you can see here ( as in the picture above) value set by you in script Stweak ! Choose as desired ! ( don't need any other app added for overclocking your device ) .
I advise you to do this with moderation !
I'm NOT responsible for damaged equipment after overclocking !!!

UPDATE.......Now comes with auto-running scripts !

Just unpack and copy archos.ext4.update following the tutorial above.
Is the same CR, but now your selected frequency will now remain after rebooting !
HOW to run this new update ?
- just edit Stweak into /system/etc/init.d : replace "# echo xxxxxxxxxx" with your favorite frequency ( ex. echo 1230000000 ) , save and exit ....and reboot your device. Now open CPUBoost and under CPU Max Speed choose your frequency !

Testing my device ( 1.2GHz) with overclock. at 1.6GHz....already no longer moving well ( not stable ...but for 1.4GHz work fine ! ).
I don't know which is certain value .... for maximum efficiency and without stability problems !

rom seems to be running fine i think ive messed the overclocking up tho is there a way to reset stweak to the original setting?
rom is still working at 1.200mhz box standard for the hdd model but the editing went wrong to fiddly for me lol

I noticed that after every reboot you lose the overclock setting back to the original frequency.

I am pleased to present my new Custom Rom - [email protected]_V01 ( Beta) - based on Archos ICS Firmware 4.0.5(4.0.3)...
This release is permanently Rooted, it's Deodexed...and also Busybox is already installed !
Included : 25/03/12
- new boot animation;
- battery percentage, and other new Icon;
- several applications in addition ( Office Free, Root-Browser free, Terminal , Chrome_Beta, FaceLock and ....++);
- enabled init.d for run scripts ;
- windows animations;
- increase sdcard speed;
- zipaling for all apk in /data/app/*;
In the near future :
- preinstalling V6_Supercharger;
- enabled FaceLock ;
- other stuff to improve performance ;
- update ....
How to install :
Since version 4.0.5 - now we have an alternative to transfer ( file -> archos.ext4, archos.ext4.update, archos.squashfs ) into device.
Once I entered into SDE , to transfer file archos.ext4.update in Internal Storage ...now we need to choose : Export Data Partition <=> /data ....and for 8G & 16G -> just we need to copy this file into /media directory ! ( Precaution : - choose Export Data Partition only when you are connected to a desktop/laptop running Ubuntu ! - otherwise Windows will ask for formatting the partition ....and if you choose YES, than you'll lose all into device, equivalent with ReFormat Device ! )
After this step ....we need choose into SDE -> Flash Kernel and Initramfs - to copy here zImage and initramfs !
But we can flash this Custom Rom as usual if you have windows PC ( copy archos.ext4.update into Internal Storage or /data/media/ or /mnt/storage/) - than into SDE -> choose Flash Kernel and Initramfs -> here you need to copy zImage and initramfs !

On the other hand I think is pretty good move, and you can use it without FC or any error ! I tested almost all functions and respond well to all ( of course not yet Games and other .+++) .

How to check if init.d works on every boot and if all apk into /data/app/* were zipaligned with function zipalign ?
To have self control I added a text file into /data/app/ => named "zip_align.txt" ...you can open it with Root-Browser and take a look into it .....you'll see began operation time , state applications directory /data/app/ and End date of operation !

oh I got a while to wait...i have to find my proof of purchase so I can ship it to archos for repair!
la sortie hdmi ne fonctionne pas sur ma télé en android 4 (contrairement au 3), mais merci pour tes rom! vivement qu'Archos corrige le soucis que je puisse utiliser ta rom !

In my device runs quite well and there seems to be no problem !
But , if there are some problems on different devices revisions , let me know to fix them in the next update !

Can't install it on my Archos 101G9 Turbo 1Gb 1.5GHz.
Boot non-animated Archos logo stays forever. I've reset device - it doesn't help.
But archos.ext4.update was renamed in archos.ext4.backup, like if there was a successful installation.
PS: No problem with recovery.

This custom rom is not touching recovery for me, mine is on "danger zone" too.
this rom is perfect. score quadrant I/O 6200 (archos 101 G9 1Ghz 512M) . good Work SUDRU probably your best rom.
would it be possible to add the Google Talk version AOKP I really need and I do not want to install that apk. thank you again sudru with supercharger v6 is a rocket my Archos.

Installing this ROM gave a similar problem to the original Archos 4.0.24 (now removed from Archos site). The tablet would load the 1st splash screen then freeze. With this release the SDE menu is available whereas with the ARCHOS release it was not, looked like it was bricked. I was able to recover from both ROM lockups by tapping on the screen a few times, this allowed the bootup to complete, perhaps the bootup code is waiting on interrupt of some sort. The ROM is working well and I am happy to use it as my daily ROM.

of course I'll update my fast rom and root version to apropriate the new firmware when will be released !
...also I'll release a new OC Edition and why not [email protected]_V04 ! - but all this will be based on stock firmware 4.0.25 !

..with init.d enabled to run scripts , we can do many things !
- perhaps the most important will be to enable Supercharger V6 on your device !
( need some times to read & understand all on V6 Supercharger topic ! ....my custom rom offers all the prerequisites for successful installation ! )
- you can enable / disable some function on rom ;
- also you can find on XDA forum , some utile scripts !
( you do not need to install any scripts, just put on init.d directory ! it will install (run) automatic on boot ( when you open your device ) - you can also see a file script by using notepad++ on windows , or using > sudo emacs name_scripts on linux/ubuntu ! )

I have installed and running Clean_Slim&Fast V02 but I seem to have a superuser issue.
I have root!!! but any apps requiring root permission is not getting added, superuser is there but nothing gets added to its allowed list I dont even get the popup to allow or disallow root.
Any ideas?

That should be a supported pixel configuration according to Quadrant's System Information. Did they update the PowerVR drivers between 4.0.24 and 4.0.25?
Also, The Bard's Tale used to work properly on 4.0.7 with the purple textures and full audio. On all 4.0.4 based firmwares (Archos and surdu's) graphics are fixed, but the dialog cuttoff bug is present and it gets worse and worse with every version that has a "Fixed dialog cuttoff bug" in the "What's new" section.

1- Format device in SDE
2- Flash Official_4.0.25.aos from Archos (Don't lose SDE after that)
3- Reboot
4- Flash this beautifull ROM (as usual)
5- Reboot
6- Reboot one more time

It should work, only that you have the option to switch to LTE, which will probably just kill the signal.

Everything is OK, but i think icon of data (3G, H) in status bar is too big, if smaller i think perfect.
Nice rom and nice user interface. However, the scrolling animation for every action is causing lag and giving me headache. It's just me.

looks nice but i think there are some problems with it, i have some apps that are get lost after reboot (like titanium backup, adobe photoshop, vidtrim, mediahouse pro, ... ). i have installed this apps from store and there are working fine but after i reboot the phone, this apps are gone like i have never installed them.
the transparent popups look nice but is horrible to read sometimes.
Hi I lost root access after flashing this Rom. The supersu app always insist on updating su binary but installation fails everytime. Pls help else this is a super Rom. I liked it very much.

Try flashing this from recovery
I flashed it but still the prompt doesn't appear whenever app ask for root access..
