Has anyone found any decent cases available in Canada at B&M stores or available on line? amazon.com has a lot of really nice cases, but paying $35-$40 for S&H is not economical, and amazon.ca doesn't seem to have much of anything that I've seen.

Good question. I eventually settled on a case from Amazon and paid for shipping which was almost the price of the tablet. I think the popularity of the Nexus will lead to more cases being available in the retail market but who wants to wait ?

I decided to buy a blackberry playbook zip case. They sell those at 40$ at futureshop but on ebay you can get it at 10$ shipping included. I haven't received mine yet but i figured that it should fit nicely.
I picked up a CaseLogic neoprene sleeve for now. At least it will be covered while in my bag, and I'll pick something nicer when they become available.

Got a case from the source. Brand name gnarly fish its made for the 7 inch galaxy tab 2 but it'll do for now. I couldn't find anything else in town and I got a couple ordered from ebay on their way.

since this is sold through google play store, will any store such as amazon.com for instance sell cases and such, the galaxy tab 2 7.0 has pretty much no cases and if they do there just kickstand type cases. mabye if this gains popularity it will get actual cases like otterbox and stuff.

Pretty much every major device release sees the accessories out before the device gets into peoples hands.
I always find though that no matter how much I spend on fancy otter boxes and targus leather cases I end up using my $2 TPU case with the cheap screen protector it came with.
Never mind, the case is back up. And, I ordered ASAP this time. My $200 tablet turned into $300 by the time I paid for shipping and taxes, but it's still worth it.

Update: Asus put out its own press release on the Nexus 7, and there's a few details in there worth noting. Covering the front of the Nexus 7 is a layer of Corning FIT glass, while the display itself features Asus "TruVivid" technology. There's no details on what, if anything, that means in reality — but the Nexus 7 does have an IPS display with a 178-degree viewing angle. Asus also claims up to 9.5 hours of battery life; that's more than Google claims, so we'll have to wait until our review to see how it performs in reality. Lastly, there was a little more detail on the new "smart cover" — it's polymer with a matte texture, and will come in six different colors.

Default Google Case
Im in Japan right now and am not able to see the default Google case, or even purchase it. I had one of my co-workers purchase the 16GB Nexus and the case from Google for me so it will be waiting for me when I get back to the States . I've looked at a couple pictures of the case, but haven't found any good ones.
Does anyone know if the case has a stand? I saw that it was a flip case, but I wasn't sure whether or not it was similar to the Apple Smart Cover.

Nice looking, but I worried about the cut outs for everything. I will have to wait for someone to be the guinea pig to see how it fits and if everything lines up correctly. From the picture it doesn't look like there is a slot on the back for the speakers, but that might be just because its a stock photo.

I am hoping to see some ultra thin / slim types soon. 0.2mm 0.3mm or 0.5mm.
But a nice gel, jelly type (non-silicone) would be excellent. It's the type I prefer on my SIII as well..

EDIT: searched google "nexus 7 exact case" originally came up with the folios. I noticed that all the pictures are for the Kindle Fire. I'd like to see them on the N7 before buying.

Personally, I'd like to see a nice tpu case with a "smart" cover that will work as a stand as well. The Asus cases aren't too bad looking, it's unfortunate they aren't smart covers, don't work as stands, and aren't TPU.

A near match for that would have been the Griffin Standle but they only ever made it for the iPad

Those are stock Kindle Fire pictures, that's why I mentioned I would like to see update pictures of it install on a N7 before I buy one. Looks like all the sellers of generic accessories are jumping on these same designs, release ranging from the 20th to 25th.. They must all be waiting for the same manufacturer

i have that case, which i like a lot for the $, but it will definitely not fit a N7 (too think, and slightly too short)
Word of advice; in my experience with "super cheap" accessories, they're usually more trouble than they're worth. If you're spending $200+ on these devices save up and spend the extra $20+ to re-assure yourself that your device is truly protected. Amen? Lol

You can pay more for those same exact cases if it makes you feel that they would protect your device any better.. The neoprene sleeve can be bought at Staples, Office Deopt or Officemax for $19.99...
On my $600-800 cell phone, out of the dozen cases I've bought, I prefer the $2 ones the most, to each their own. YMMV.

Belkin Pleat Sleeve for Kindle Fire on sale at Target for $9.99. Fits the N7 perfectly.
It's a lot more expensive than the cheapest cases from mail order but it is available immediately if you live near a Target and a lot cheaper than the usual list prices for brand name neoprene from a store.

High quality or not, $20 is indeed pretty steep for a TPU. I could get a leather case with sleep/wake functions and a stand built in for $10 off eBay.
Should have been $10, or at a max $12.
I have a bunch of these for my gnex and they're awesome, but for 20$, hell no.

I have 7 of the androidified cases for my gnex and gnote... They are very high quality and well worth the money, imo. The asus case is $20 and that thing is not only ugly but made of rubber, yet people are buying them, and there isn't even a wake feature! You're getting 3 cases for $40, thats what? $13 a piece? Sounds like a bargin to me

Just bought my N7 from GameStop yesterday and they had the official Google one there for $30, I went home to look back at the Cruiserlite case I had saved to buy when I got the N7 and saved $10.... If $20 is too much for you, get a cheapy TPU case, but this thing looks much nicer IMO, and besides, with $60 in game trades and $180 in store credit from swapping out an XBOX 360, this tablet only cost me $30 anyways....

If $20 is too much for you, get a cheapy TPU case, but this thing looks much nicer IMO, and besides, with $60 in game trades and $180 in store credit from swapping out an XBOX 360, this tablet only cost me $30 anyways....

The cruzerlite cases are not your typical "run of the mill" tpu that you would buy on ebay for $5, they are high quality tpu, best I've ever seen or used.

But if you buy two you get the third one free. I don't know why you would need 3 of the same case for one device.
Really wish there was just one big Android on the back, instead of a tiled pattern.

Different colors for different moods. I have 4 of the androidified case for my GNex and 3 for my GNote, all the same case but different colors.

Thank you for that update. Instead of creating a new post in which you won't be giving a full review on the product, maybe you should just post the picture here. Sounds a little more productive, I think.....
Love this company's case but I'm going to wait too see if there going to come out with the rubberized tpu case they sell.

I've been buying cases from cruzer lite for some time now and I can't think of one case they have that is rubberized.....they have all been the traditional tpu, afaik. The "persona of Andy" cases are a little "softer" than the androidified cases, but still of the hard tpu.

Nice, thanks for the heads up.
I have the Ringke Slim on my Nexus 5 which is nice, but this one seems to be a bit better as it protects top and bottom.
I'm not sure why Ringke and Spigen are going with this recessed design along the antenna lines on the back of the case...

Probably to maintain the aesthetics of the phone, I like it personally.
Just got an email saying mine has been dispatched already
Mine is on its way as well.
I put in my order the day it was available, which was around the middle of April. Now, I've received the free screen protector (a 3 pack from Invisible Defender) but the case won't be getting her until next week. I've used the Ringke line since the GNex, and the SGS4, and both were very slim and fitted. I wonder how easy it'll be to put on and remove this iteration.

Hey guys, you have to notice that if the case has the same fit as on the Nexus 5 it is better to stay away because it's defiantly going to scratch the phone......but overall the quality is great.

It looks like a very different design to the N5 case. Additionally, plastic is softer than aluminium

My wife received hers today, and I'm slightly jealous. If they get some other colors, I may purchase one for myself as well. It's matte so it's a fingerprint magnet. The cutouts are great, and it's really a nice minimal case. Pics below!
