$9 Belkin F8N520ttBKW at Target (orig for Kindle - Works great for N7) - Nexus 7 Accessories

Pouch Case for my #Nexus7 - on sale @ Target for $9.00 (if you can find em)
Belkin F8N520ttBKW Pouch - originally shows for the "New Kindle" - but works great for my nexus7
I checked online and the model # they have on their website is not the same and it's $16 there.. I've picked up two of these at two different targets, and the last place (Cupertino, CA) - still had two left.. So they probably are in other areas.. On sale for $9.00 - works good for when I want to put it in my cargo shorts, and take it with me! - Which is all the time because I can't live without my Nexus 7 now
The little pocket makes for a great place to stick a cloth for screen cleaning

They reduced the price because the product was discontinued. I got one a few days ago and I'm pleased with it. However, I feel jipped because it was just shy of $10 at my target.

Omg after reading this thread I jumped in the Beamer and drove to target, they had 1 black one left.
Good looking out, it's a perfect snug fit and has a very nice pouch for my stylus and thumbstick/otg cable.

A sizeable pouch was a necessity when buying the case I have for my Nexus 7.
http://www.amazon.com/Google-Tablet...qid=1343588795&sr=8-4&keywords=nexus+neoprene
I got that one the other day and it works quite well, I have always tried to get neoprene cases for my devices just because they're cheap and generally not too flashy. The only problem with this one is the weird logo on the front, I could do without that.
I have to stop by Target today for something else so I will probably check if these are in stock. If it's snug enough I could pick it up... The extra padding is what I am looking for now.

That's the exact same case I have, I didn't like it because of the lack of padding. This believe this case is a good upgrade, better padding and a bigger pocket.

Just went to Target. They had didn't have the Belkin Kindle Touch Pleated Sleeve F8N520ttBKW out on the floor, but it was in the back stock room. It rang up as $9.99 (originally $29.99). However, to get it to even completely close I had to really jam it in. It definitely doesn't fit my Nexus 7 comfortably. Maybe it will stretch over time, but it's doubtful. I tried stretching the whole sleeve myself and it didn't really help.
This is a good deal and it is a nice sleeve, but I don't find this practical for the Nexus 7 at all. I'm concerned the zipper is going to scratch the bezel every time i try to get it in or out. I had to stretch the material to get it to close around the edges.
Not sure how it's working for others in this thread. Maybe there's some slight size variations, but I find that pretty hard to believe.

I see what you mean when you say its kind of too small for the nexus 7, but after a few hours of taking it out and putting it back in the sleeve, it actually fits quite well. Also, I was scared of scratching the bezel as well, but now it just fits in there. I might post some pictures tomorrow if I get a chance

When I tried it on in store I noticed that the corners of the tab were a tight fit as well, and also thought that the zippers would scratch the corners of the bezel. But with a little effort I got the soft corners over the edge of the bezel and was able to zip it without worry. I've been using it all day running my errands and it's stretched out a little, I'm sure it'll stretch out a bit more in the next few days and fit better.

Exactly what I thought. I bought one to try it out at home and felt it was too snug for my Nexus 7. Mainly concerned with the zipper scratching up the bezel every time I used the zipper and took more effort than I like just to close it.
I ended up getting the Timbuk2 Kindle Fire plush sleeve and it is a much better fit than this Belkin case.

How much was that sleeve? The whole point of this thread and case is it was 9 bucks. I BTW 24hrs later the case has stretched out enough to where it'll close without effort.

Got this the other day. Yes, it's a tight fit but the padding goes above the sides when the zipper closes around it. Works pretty well actually. Taped a magnet in the front zippered section and now it acts as a smart case! I've put a cleaning cloth and headphones in the same compartment. Also comes in purple.

Can you fit the OEM charger and cable in the extra pocket?

I haven't touched the OEM charger since I just use a couple Palm Touchpad or Pre chargers. I'd predict the Nexus 7 charger would fit fine since I put my Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10i case in there and that thing is pretty big for a headphone case. Although I like to keep it relatively slim so most of the time I just leave the cleaning cloth in there.

Trident Aegis Case for Nook Color for 23.99

Just bought my Trident Aegis Case for Nook Color for $23.99 free shipping from http://www.meritline.com/newsearch.aspx?SearchTerm=nook+color . If anybody wants it, it is still available. Pretty decent case.
I'll second the notion that it's a good case, and it's normally between $35 and $40 I believe, so that's a good deal. The only issue I have with it is that it's so good and accessible I never want to remove my Nook from it, yet it won't quite fit in the Aalto case I bought. It kind of does, but it's incredibly hard to get it in, and I have to use pliers to get the zipper open again. I'm hoping it will stretch the Aalto enough to make it easy in, easy out eventually, but I'm not sure it will happen.
Just ordered one cant wait for it to come in. It looks amazing!!
Looks nice. Might get this to replace my current one. Thanks for the post!

It didn't seem to happen at all, and definitely not before I broke the zipper tab off. Anyone know of a good case that will protect the screen etc with the Aegis left on?

I'd like to request invocation of Rule 34 at this time... lol
Just got mine. I'm totally satisfied with it quality wise but I have two small issues.
- Does your hinge to access the microSD slot ever lie flush with the rest of the case or am I doing something wrong?
- I messed up the screen protector a bit, actually throwing out the protector itself and tried to apply the plastic. When i realized what happened, the actual protector was covered in small specks of dust. You think they'll send me a new one if I ask nicely?
FYI... I have the AEGIS case and like it a lot.
I ordered the following zipper carrying case from Amazon and for $5.50 shippped it works well. It is the Belkin Neoprene Kindle Case.
Search on item: B001NPDA44
With the AEGIS Case on, in the Belkin Zipper Case, side to side it probably has 1/4" of slack, up and down is pretty tight, but finessing the neoprene a bit, it is fairly easy to zip up.
Plus Zagg -Maybe
Applied the;
Zagg Invisible Shield - Nook Color Skin
Full Body Maximum Coverage - $ 29.99.
I did this with the intention of wrapping the Trident around it.
Man am I disipointed in the Zagg. It peels off in 7 differant pieces. One being a super thin strip around the case that I ended up tossing aside, as useless. Even with that in use; there would be no seal from screen to case which is why i wanted the darn thing in the first place.
There are a couple good points and i will detail them in a seperate review thread having already talked to customer service at Zagg in the morning. BUT the real kicker?!?!
After I spent an hour installing the thing to the very best I could, and booting up for a look see; I found a slice 3/4 of the way accross the entire face of the protector, about 1/5 of the way down from the top. I examined under 10x. Yep. Factory flaw.
The Zagg is not invisible at all. It has a wavy surface texture, that to my eyes makes the text no longer pop. Any plastic screen cover will resist smears in comparison to glass as glass is porous.
I will try the Aegis Trident's included screen protector and pop for a three year (accidental damage included) warranty through SquareTrade and call it done; returning the Zagg for a refund.
anybody know how to clean the colored back? its starting to get a bit off color, especially on the little ridges
Sent from my NookColor using Tapatalk
I just cleaned the whole front and back of my Nook Color after peeling off a Zagg kit.
I sculpt so I use all manor of solvents. But that doesn't mean I know best, but for me this is my common procedure.
Unit turned off, laying on a soft surface. I used these microfiber cloths, been using them for years.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Rasco-Cleaning-...ltDomain_0&hash=item4a906936bf#ht_3420wt_1179
Lay that flat, then the Nook, Then a cut off piece of the microfiber cloth and dab with
99% isopropyl alcohol clear. Not 70% so the water evaporates quicker. $4 bucks a bottle instead of $1 but worth it to my mind.
Clean an area and re dampen cloth as necessarily, the cloth will dry every 15 seconds or so.. Very effective.
If cleaning screen and find a stubburn spot, gently use fingernail and or a little saliva on the finger. Redo surface with the alcohol.
Finally finish with clean dry cloth as the chemical leaves a slight film that is easily rubbed off.
Let the device sit and dry for 10 minutes. Wait an hour if you used 70% instead of 99% alcohol.
And you are good to go.

DODOcase Review

So I received my DODOcase last week and I've decided to write a review about the case for everyone.
You can find it here: DODOcase for Nexus 7
Price/Shipping:
First off, and the shipment was pretty quick to me. I was impressed since I ordered it on Monday and had it by Thursday. I believe they hand make these cases by order basis, and so to have it turned around in under a week was nice. The box it came in wasn't fancy lol. It was just a cardboard that was cut out and folded to protect it from shipment damage. It did its job though and got to me in perfect condition. Price was steep for a case, at least for me. Came out to $48 with a 10% off coupon with shipping and taxes. You also get another 10% off coupon for someone else to use when you buy from them and if someone uses the coupon and buys a case you get another 10% back. I got another 10% back because someone used my coupon recently and ordered a case.
Quality:
The quality of the case is very high. I was impressed to say the least when I first removed the case from the packaging. You can tell it was created by good workmanship, material is good quality. Feels nice to the touch and it looks very nice to carry around. The color was spot on with what they had on the website, I couldn't be happier with the quality of this case. The elastic band is the same color as the inner panels, I was kind of assuming it would be off a lot but it is really spot on.
Functionally:
Well sure it is pretty but how well does it function at its true core, a case. First the tablet is secured to the case by a doubled sided sticky tape. You peel the top layer off the tape and stick your tablet in place. I had to reset the case about 2 times to get it just where I wanted it. The tape never lost its strength and still holds very very well. I read you can reuse this tape as well by just wiping down the tape with water and it restores the stickiness to it. Haven't tried this yet though.
Next the fit of the case. The case itself is very thin and sleek, and just hugs the Nexus 7 perfect. As you can see in my pictures, the case is very close in size to the Nexus 7, it leaves a little boarder between the edge of the tablet to the edge of the case. Just enough so I would be confident that it would protect my Nexus 7 from a drop. I really like the fit of this case, can't stress that enough. Plus it is pretty light. One thing that kind of bugs me is the Power/Volume buttons are a little harder to access with case on. The case is so low profile that it comes very close to the buttons - the way ASUS place the buttons on the curve of the back panel causes this little problem, so you kind of have to angle your finger different then you normally would to push the buttons.
Lastly, the perch modes and carrying. The standing up perch mode works well for viewing movies at your desk, browsing the web and controlling your playlist for music. I stick the elastic band under the back to give it better support on slick surfaces. The laying down perch mode is okay. I wish it had a wider angle but I understand that to keep this case low profile, it had to stay at a lower angle. Usually I am carrying this case in my hand. It feels good to carry it in one hand and do want you need with the other. I can also thumb type very easy with the case on and folded back. I am typing this whole review actually from my Nexus 7 with the DODOcase, feels comfortable still.
I love the smart cover feature (sleep/wake) this case has. It works perfect, turns off and wakes the screen as intended. The elastic band is a nice feature as well. It looks great when the case is closed and it holds the case shut very well. I guess looking down the line, I can probably see that the elastic band might become dirty from always taking it off and on. I guess I could use try to wash the band if it gets to that point but I have only had it for a few days.
(TLDR)
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this case. It's very low profile which is always something I look for in a case. It's sleek and sexy and yet adds that protection for your case if you ever happen to drop it, also very light weight. The sleep/wake functions were just the icing on the cake and really completes this case. The price is steep but you do get a high quality case that is sure to get some questions, coworkers and family have really recognized the quality of this case in the few days I've spent with it and really like it. I would recommend this case for anyone that is looking into it. :good:

Thanks for the review! Was thinking of ordering one while I waited on my Treegloo case. Didn't like the idea of the strap being the same color as the inside cover (blue) but it actually looks good!
Thanks, you just cost me $48.00+ because I ordered one of these cases to go along w/ the tablet as a Xmas gift.
Where do I send you the bill? (I would have ordered a cheap Amazon type case because I didn't know about this company until I read your review - so, obviously, this is your fault! )

Devicewear The Ridge Case

I was just surfing amazon and found a case available that i hadn't seen before. It's by Devicewear, called The Ridge. I can't link to it as it's my first post, though i thought i'd give everyone a heads up.
Seems like an awesome case, with everything that I was looking for:
Slim profile, hard backing, folio cover, auto sleep/start, microfiber lining, decent price, available.
I ordered it and should be arriving tomorrow, i'll try to take some pics and have a short review soon if people are interested. I already have the poetic hardback, which is nice, but this one seems to be the perfect case for me.
That looks pretty nice, looking forward to your review.

Totally is a good marketing scheme. Made me realize that this case is in the market and I bought it because it looks like the best one for my needs available.
I looked up a review of their iPad case and they check out:

Quick Review and pics
Wow, I had no idea that me posting that would make it seem like I'm schilling for them. Not sure what I can say to have you guys believe otherwise, but oh well. I'm not affiliated with them in any sense.
Anyways, for those that would care, it came in today (yay Amazon next-day shipping!) and I took some ****ty cell-phone pics and have some initial impressions.
The Good:
Very slim profile, doesn't add much bulk at all.
While not real, the "vegan leather" does feel pretty good and grippy in the hand. Definitely better than the pu leather stuff.
The inner lining of the front cover has some sort of rubbery, felt-ish material that seems like it will protect pretty well against scratches n such.
All buttons, ports and speakers are well-exposed and have easy access.
I love the combo of hard case to protect the back and cover for the front.
Auto sleep/awake seems to work pretty well.
The Nexus does fit pretty snugly in the case, doesn't seem like it will pop out unless coaxed.
The little ridges in the front cover line up with a ridge on the inside edge of the case to prop it up at multiple angles. It seems really sturdy, and a lot less bulky than the giant deep ridges i have in my poetic hardback.
It also flips over for a pretty good typing angle.
The not so good:
The PU backing seems a little flimsy, I've never had one of these hard cases before so I'm not sure how sturdy they normally are, but it seems like it flexes kind of easily.
While the clamps on the top and bottom edges of the cover hold it in place pretty well, they are definitely pretty flimsy and don't "snap" like you would like them to. I can also see them getting in the way, it would have been nice if they would have found another way to keep the cover shut against the tablet, like a magnet or a clamp on the right side. At least it stays in place though.
Because the case is synthetic leather, it does have a chemical smell to it, which i'm sure will dissipate over time.
Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the case. I really wish the plastic was a bit sturdier, the poetic slimline from the pictures I have seen looks a little thicker. I really do like it, and I'm happy I made the purchase. If anybody wants more pics let me know and I'll do what I can.
Looks like the clips would get in the way if the front flap was folded all the way back like a book and then set on a flat surface. Correct?

They are noticable, but don't get in the way nearly as much as I would have thought. I have noticed, however, that with the back folded all the way back the magnet is strong enough to put the tablet back to sleep, so I have to put a finger in between to keep it on. Definitely annoying.
This is definitely one of the better looking cases for the N7. Its a little pricey though.

Looks like a great case except for this point, definitely a problem. I wonder if it's possible to take out the magnet somehow, I don't even care about the wake/sleep function much.

Is it possible to fold it in such a way that the clamps are facing up the back case (when folded back for reading), so that maybe they can snap onto the PU backing?
I guess it's a bit hard to explain but since the front cover extends all the way to the middle of the back case, is it possible to fold that part to an opposite direction (instead of folding the usual line along on the left edge of the case)
If this works, maybe it can avoid the problem you mentioned in another post, about the magnet being too strong and put the device to sleep when the front is folded back.

I don't think there's any way you can get the clips to face that direction, but I have found that if you keep the cover folded along the natural crease, forming a little triangle, I've been able to avoid the problem as well as giving you a nice little grip to hold onto. Thus far I am really enjoying the case. Although now part of me wants one of the Portenzo or Treegloo cases, they look really nice.

sleeve/ soft cases

I don't want a case that covers the bezel or the back, just something to protect my n10 when it is slung in my backpack or messenger bag.
Does anyone know if these will fit the n10?
Samsung Textile Pouch
Kensington Soft Carrying Case
Proporta Perfora which is listed as a Nexus 10 case but seems to be a netbook case so will likely be too thick.
I am thinking about a sleeve myself.
To protect the nexus 10 while not in use or carrying it, but not to add bulk to the tablet while in use.
I am thinking about picking up a case logic sleeve.

I'd like to know too. You can get it through Amazon cheaper http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-LA...id=1353866151&sr=1-1&keywords=LAPST-110-BLACK and their return procedure is pretty painless.
I'd try it myself but my N10 hasn't arrived yet and I want to try the Galaxy Tab 10.1 accessories I already have before buying more "stuff".
Let us know.
I picked up this HP case (based on a recommendation in another thread):
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Mini+Laptop+Sleeve/9926416.p?id=1218196187925&skuId=9926416
I picked it up off of Amazon for $10, but the picture over on Amazon is not correct (this picture on BestBuy is correct). It has padding on both sides of the device in the main pocket plus a second zippered pocket for cable, headphones, charger etc. It is the right size and the N10 fits in the case right; but, I am sure there are smaller cases if you don't need the large second pocket across the whole case. I picked this case up to have it available now as I am watching other cases being released. I also have three more different cases on order for different situations. My favorite so far is the Poetic Slimline case, but it is not available until the end of December. Good luck.
This Samsung-made pouch fits damn-near perfect:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0055193HU/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
It fits pretty tight at first, but loosens up over about 10 insertions and removals. It doesn't cover 100% of the tablet though, there's still about ~3mm of the tablet exposed at the open end. To me it's negligible, since it's used to place the tablet into my backpack.
And it's less than 11 bucks.
I didn't want some big hard cover, just a sleeve, but also didn't want to spend any money on it so just made my own last night using half of a full-desk neoprene gaming mousemat and a needle exactly what i was after for simply carrying it around and such. It's not perfect but it was free and does it's job ut great

I love these kind of comments
FYI, I bought this one
http://www.amazon.co.uk/V7-Protective-Sleeve-iPads-Tablets/dp/B0085JT0BS/
Its quite thick (~30mm) with the Nexus 10 inside, but I felt the bubbles inside should really help protect the screen when its in my laptop bag.
The zip closes no problem, but it wouldn't take a tablet even a few mm taller(in portrait), width-wise(also in portrait) there is a good 20mm space. The padding is quite thin on the zip and edges, protected, but not as well as the main faces. I feel it is a good buy.

I picked up the Hp as well for $20 at Bestbuy works well and will get the job done until new cases are released
I like the looks of this one, because while I think I'll be using the thing naked most of the time, I know I need a sleeve, plus this one can prop the unit up if I want to watch a movie on an airplane or something.

I bought this one as well from amazon us and am very happy with it. Nice snug fit, not loose at all.

ASUS Versasleeve
Using an ASUS Versasleeve (sold TF700) and it works great. Fit is perfect and case doubles as a stand with two positions (typing and viewing). I prefer using my tablets naked and have been through 5+ cases before deciding on the Versasleeve.

I tried this case from LLC but the N10 was too wide to fit in. I'm hoping for something like this to come out for the N10. The magnetic top closes it nicely and keeps it folded when you use it as a folio style stand. It's also paper thin. If anyone has a line on something like this for the N10 please post:

If anyone lives in the UK, I just bought a laptop neoprene case from pound land for £1 while I wait for my Poetic Slimline case to arrive from amazon. It may not be a perfect fit, but it definitely gets the job done.

Can't go too wrong for $10.62 delivered. Goo designs a beautiful product and then tells the user to either risk carrying it around naked or put it into a case that will defeat their design efforts? I believe the cover they promoted, if it had been available, would have have helped them to sell more tablets.

Thanks for the tip. I've tried it with mine and I almost didn't get it out and then sold it with my Galaxy Tab 10.1. I loved the pouch because it was very slim, minimalistic and the tablet was slightly protected when it was just laying around on the couch or when I put it in my laptop bag.
Unfortunately it's 22€ on Amazon.de (around $25) but I think it's still worth it since I hate it when a case is completely attached to the tablet.

That is a really nice looking sleeve. Quite pricey but could be tempted to pick one up when my nexus 10 arrives
Ordered this one
http://www.ebay.com/itm/170933946177?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
+ pre-ordered the Slimline on Amazon.
Will post review when I get it
P.S. UPS shows tracking that my Nexus 10 will be here today...Woohoo
Got a few pictures of the Galaxy Tab Case and the Asus Versasleeve.
The galaxy case is housing the N10 pretty well at this point, with almost 0 protrusion of the tablet.
Overall, I think I will be using the Versasleeve. I remember people complaining about the plastic smell on the Nexus 7 poetic cases, but holy hell this Asus case is much worse in the magnitude of smell.
Other than the ugly brown, I think it'll work well.

[REVIEW][PICS] eBay Generic Black "Leather" 360 Rotating Case (...Another One)

[REVIEW][PICS] eBay Generic Black "Leather" 360 Rotating Case (...Another One)
There are a couple threads for these generic rotating cases, but none that I've seen for this specific one yet, so I thought I'd go ahead and document it for us all. Note that sometimes this might be the one you're getting if the name is remotely close to the thread title, even though the pictures on eBay may look different; those resellers are pretty random with their image swapping and merchandise. I did my best to link to one showing what (appears) to actually be this case since my original link in the Rotating Cases thread has gone down.
This is one of the better looking rotating cases I've seen in that it's got the faux leather look everywhere, and an elastic strap to hold and close it with. It does look similar to the Moko rotating cases, but the Moko has 3 slots to stand it in, more obvious looking stitching on the back, and a higher rotating connector, all likely to help with the portrait standing. There is a price difference too of course.
So, down to business. The problem with this more generic one is that only the back slot works for holding it up in landscape, and neither really work very well in portrait. This may be due to the flatter rotating connector (in contrast with what I mentioned above for the Moko), but is also due to the little strip of material (that wraps around the side of the device when closed) being too floppy, and the device being too top-heavy in portrait. You can flatten out the strip to create friction and it works fairly well that way, but still really only usable in that back slot.
All the cutouts are perfect. POGOs and both mics are accessible, and the speaker is nicely centered (despite the way my pic looks from the angle).
One thing that worried me was the spinning piece of plastic rubbing up against the back of my device so I cut a piece of black boxboard from the packaging the case came in and taped it over the rotating connector, as you can see. This has worked very well, has kept the back of my device pristine, and still looks great. :good:
Not really sure if I'd buy it again, since it certainly doesn't work in portrait as advertised, but I discovered I've never really needed to use it in portrait while standing, and it is decent enough build quality, feeling great in the hands that I won't be buying a different one any time soon. Perhaps worth it at that price ($7 USD) if you know all of this going in.

P.S. If anyone is curious, that's a tempered glass SP on there. Virtually indistinguishable from the bare screen:

holy thickness.
nice review, but too thick to my liking. ive been eyeing one for a while, but not a big fan of a big Iron Man Reactor hole at the back....
...but thanks to your review, apparently i hate the thickness even more lol
lol I've bought something like that, I'll post a pic below but my portrait works well with this. The only thing bothering me is the plastic internal case where the n7 is put in... it fits well but it's a little too much weak to hold it...
btw it costed 6-7€ so I think I'll live with that

That's like the Moko case the OP mentioned with the larger bulkier plastic ring for rotation. I have that design for my HTC Flyer 7" tablet. Like you I find it works well enough but I can agree with the OP in that the plastic ring does add quite a bit of bulk. If I wanted that style for my Nexus I'd give the one he found a try.

Nah that's exactly the same as mine I think. Actually the picture on eBay for the one I bought had the dark fabric just like that but the one I received had the lighter fabric as you can see. The pleather backing that attaches to the ring is actually what I was referring to; ours have a horizontally flat line where it connects to the backing, but the Mokos appears to swoop up, assumably making it better for standing the tablet up in portrait.
I actually just switched to this case and I'm loving it:
