and tick the "re-partation" use 512.pit
then my phone can boot, but the machine type from 'M110s' changed to 'i9000'.
and i can not call and sent sms,the Sim card can not be recognized.
now i want to flash the korean version rom for M110s (M110S-NPS-IMAGE-REV03-DG23-1409-USER)
the odin failed .
the modem.bin can not be writed into the machine.
so anyone can give me a solution?

the imei code status is "unkown"
how to return to the original rom?
you'll have to google some Korean forum to find the korean firmware, then use Odin 3 to flash it
there is a topic about how to restore the IMEI
assuming you still have the box where it came with the phone

[Q] JPP for Odin?

I got the JPP update via Kies but now bricked my phone and need to reflash, Kies won't offer the update though and I can't find any package for Odin on samfirmware.com.
Does anyone know of a JPP download that can be flashed with Odin?
Isn't it only the modem which is JPP?....

iirc PDA is JPP, phone and csc JPO. Could be wrong though... Can't check as my phone is currently bricked (csc change gone bad) and I'm nowhere near the usb cable to fix it.

[Q] a question about debranding, which firmware.

hello,
my phone is branded to orange in the uk. i have been looking into this for the past 3 days.
i am now at the point where i am ready to flash with odin but i am unsure which firmware to flash with, and i have read so much info im getting my head all wrapped around the situation
basically my current firmware is
PDA:I9000 BVJS4
PHONE: I9000 BVJP4
CSC: I9000 ORAJS4
version 2.2.1
i have looked at http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm and the amount of firmware staggers me not one all i am requesting if someone would be so kind and reply saying "flash this one mate"
i may have already read the answer but i have spent 3 days trying to figure it out for myself.
it was locked to orange but i have since unlocked it. it is currently rooted.
im not particularly bothered about warranty because i can add it to my home insurance to cover loss or damage. and from what i have read the phone is difficult to brick fully,
i have the download mode already, its just a case of get the firmware and flash.
i apologise for the very long post and i hope someone can help me
thanks for reading.
EDIT: i already have a backup of the efs folder
in my opinion don't use odin only , only if you want stock or root . Go to Doc Rambone's kitchen and build yourself your desired rom . I suggest JS8 wipe (you will lose all your data) or nonwipe ( you will have crappy data from previous rom ) , select your own csc if you want APN Settings , hardcore/SuperCurio/DamianGTO(never tested this) Kernel at your own desire , an european modem , themes sounds and boot amination at your own desire and need , and at apps and tweaks choose what you think you will use. SORRY FOR CRAPPY ENGLISH ( I'm not a native English speaker and I wrote very quickly .
I agree you can choose a CSC to suit your network .
CPW CSC covers all UK networks .
XWJS8 v9.9.5 WIPE base rom
CPW csc
Hardcore's Kernel *RECOMMENDED* kernel
JPX modem
Apps choose what you want .
Themes and boot animation choose what you want .

thamks guys, i have used odin to flash the new jvk firmware, (there is an app on market for my apn settings (im on giffgaff))
i have used criskelo's rom in the develeopment forum with his theme.
it really does amaze me when only 2 weeks ago i didnht know anything about odin or flashing and now i can downgrade/upgrade my firmware using odin, root it. and its all thanks to this wonderful website!
i even know how to install different themes etc and now i just installed a battery im just astounded.
there are a few other questions:
1) if i want to change my theme, can i just install it over the old one using cwm?
2) is there a thread/website etc where i can download certain mods? (ie i see a few of the themes have the market in different colours, different lock-screens, i just wondered if there was another place where i can get these from to install)
3) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=934729&highlight=theme+creator i have found this but there doesnt seem to be a guide or anything, i cant get it to download the framework from my phone? i have tried in usb mode (kies and mass storage) download mode and mounting usb storage from the cwm. what i havent ried is with debugging mode on.

hi gazza1988, good to know u were able to debrand and flash the firmware through ODIN.
I also got my SGS through 3 UK. Its unlocked now.
But i am not am not able to install any apps and market is also not working. I also want to remove the branding.
My current config is :
PDA : I9000NEJP5
PHONE : I9000NEJP2
CSC : I9000HCGJP5
I want to flash to a stable stock firmware. Some people on forums suggested to flash JS8.
I downloaded I9000XWJS8 from samfirmwares.com but it has only one file - NEE.tar (which i guess is PDA file).
Will my current modem and CSC be compatible with I9000XWJS8 ?? Do i need to include .PIT file and select repartition ??
hi, if you want to debrand you will need new complete (ie 3 firmwares csc pda phone etc)
i assume you have odin already
if you want to debrand then download the jpu firmware (has all 3 files) here http://hotfile.com/dl/99955459/dea6962/I9000XXJPU.rar.html password for archive is samfirmware.com
once you have flashed that one go back into download mode and flash the NEE.tar as PDA to update to JS8.

Thanks for the quick reply man !!!
Do i also need to select PIT file and select re-partition ??
Also samfirmware has listed I9000XXJPU firmware download as 1 file only. Link
Like this :
I9000XXJPU ## | 512.PIT | Version 2.2.1 | 2010 December | DOWNLOAD | 1 file select NO .PIT
I've have started the download anyway, so lets see.
As i'm using my SGS in India, is it better to flash an Asian firmware with CSC which has info about indian networks ?? Can u tell me which Asian firmware on this page has all 3 files ?
possibly would be better to flash asian but what the effects of changing from one region to another are im not 100% may be worth startin a new topic in this forum as people are less inclined to look in here as they think my issue is being seen to by someone else.
the asian firmware for india is DD (ie I9000DDxxx so i would guess that the I9000DDJF2 would contain all 3 files to flash then you would have to flash I9000DDJP6 to get indian stock froyo firmware. but i would ask a more experienced person about moving regions i was a noob at this 2 weeks ago.
i am 90% certain that flashing indian firmware would debrand and enable the market, it may be worth adding a post to this thread detailing what you have now and what you would like (ie branded uk firmware to stock indian firmware - it may also be worth asking if you can use european firmware with a indian csc as i have read the indian froyo is not very good)
the reason you cant download apps from the market would be your location (ie the phone's firmware is 3 UK and you are in india so it get "confused". do you have 3g connectivity.
i have researched some of this and the CSC (country specific code) is what holds the apn settings etc so you would need an indian csc

Yes, i have 3g, but not able to sign in to google account even with 3g. And the strange part is that i can't even directly install most of the apk files. Adobe flash player apk didn't install. Even asphalt 5 didn't install. I was able to install Winamp for android. I downloaded many apks for the internet (some of them specifically packed for SGS) but 99% of them don't install on my SGS.
I have started this thread, so lets see.
Is I9000XXJPU a Unbranded firmware ?? I think we can safely assume that if I9000XXJPU firmware is designed for factory unlocked phones sold by samsung in Europe when i could solve the market issues. And i can manually enter the APN settings of my network. The issue currently i think is the 3 UK crap.

[Q] I need help in flashing through ODIN !

I posted a question yesterday about my android Market not working. I tried every possible thing but I cant get it to work.
So now i'm thinking to install apk files manually through droid explorer. I was able to install some apps by download the apk from internet and using batch installer in droid explorer. But I cant install Flash Player and Asphalt 5. It shows Failure - Invalid APK.
My SGS is from 3 UK and i'm using it in India after unlocking it.

I had a SGS (Official unlocked Indian version) in Nov 2010 and it had stock 2.1 . Everything used to work properly on it.
But why is this SGS having problems ? Is it that the v2.2 has bugs ? Or is it because i'm using an 3 UK unlocked phone, as it has 3 branding ?
Can I flash the phone with an official Indian(or any other clean) ROM ? Can it solve these Market and invalid Bugs ? Because the hardware platform is same on both, I suppose !

else you can flash a JVK ROM (2.3.3) or JS8 ROM (2.2.1 stable) if you dont have many apps? I used these ROMS and its working fine. I live in India too.

Do u have an Indian version ? Is it possible that the hardware is different ? Or maybe the market sends info about the phone by giving IMEI, etc. and then it may be blocking my access as i have unlocked the phone ?
Where can I download the *stock* JS8 firmware and also get it's instructions, as I have never flashed a firmware manually before.

Unzip the js8 firmware you downloaded. You will see that there are three files pda file modem file and csc file.
If u bave the 502.pit file included use that or download the 502.pit file from samfirmware. Now open odin and then in the pit select 502.pit file. In the pda selct the pda file which you got after unzipping the js8 firmware. In the phone select the modem file and in csc select the csc file. Select repartition in odin.
Now put ur fon in download mode and wen it goes intk download connct it to the pc. Remebr to open odin on pc before you conect the phone. After you have connected the fon u will find lines appering in odin stating that the phone has been detected. After that press start and then wait for your phone to flash!

Seems like my SGS doesn't support recovery & download modes.
I first held volume UP + Home button. Then while pressing them I also pressed the power button. The phone runs in SGS logo boot loop if i keep them pressed. I searched on forums, i found that we have release the power button as soon as SGS logo shows up. I did so and the phone boots up normally. Is my method wrong or the recovery & download modes could be really locked ?
Should I attempt that bootloader fix for enabling these 2 modes ? How safe is that ?

[Q] Can't update via Kies - i've done my reading

Hi
I'm helping out a friend, and we are having some troubles being able to update via Kies.
In Kies, the firmware is listed as: (blank field/none)
And we get the message "no update available"
1. USB debugging is disabled (tried enabling)
2. Tried editing Regedit
http://getandroidstuff.com/tutorial-force-kies-update-samsung-galaxy-regedit-guide/
3. Tried flashing pit, PDA, modem and CSC that are corresponding to eachother.
XXJPU from here:
http://www.samsunggalaxysforum.com/...cial)(firmwares)galaxy-s-i9000-download-only/
4. Tried hard reset
Nothing seems to work. Are the any edits in the above shown tutorials which could lead to succes?
It has taking quite a lot of time and searching and googling, and we are close to giving up. We are 2 android well experienced android users, one of use mobile supporter, and we can't get it to work. All of our experience combined, didn't fix the problem.
What to do?
Thanks in advance

Because the owner don't feel safe using Odin and want's the function to be working.
Running stock 2.2.1 XXJPY now
We tried flashing different ROM's via Odin
Kies updates official firmware that came with the phone .
You have flashed stock firmware Kies cannot update that .
Only update path is now via Odin .
You can try spoof firmware to correct product details .
http://www.appbrain.com/app/spooffw/com.johnan.spooffw
Other question is are you trying to upgrade too a firmware that does not exist
that is 2.2.1 is the very very very latest firmware .
Gingerbread 2.3 has not been released by Samsung yet .
jje
The problem is that the firmware field is left blank...
it doesn't recognize the firmware I guess, but it should be stock 2.2.1 and then it would be able to recognize it, but it doesn't.
Are there any known problems regarding x64 windows?
Will try the spoof, but I think it is the same as altering Regedit
Howcome, Kies can't update that stock firmware we have flashed? the system files should be the same, as of modem, PDA and so on.
Kies spoof method is your only choice .
Stock firmware from samfirmware etc is not the firmware that came with your phone so IDs do not and will not match .
Below an example of legitimate O2 UK firmware ID upgradable by Kies .
Replace that with stock and codes change and fail to match anything on the server .
KIES does not recognize stock firmware .
Stock is not what comes with the phone .
