Market Place and paypal - Off-topic

I have been reading around and I have been noticing noone should buy with gift.
There are these two phones I would like but the seller wants to be gifted. Should I?

Moved to Off-topic.

Hell to the nah! The buyer is trying to get the exact amount for what they have posted. It lessens your ability to get your $$ back if there is ever a problem, its also against the marketplace rules. Read it and learn.
Yes it was tested on animals, didn't fit.

If they are requesting gift payments then please use the report post function as this is against the rules.
As mentioned, this makes it much more difficult to recoup a loss and the seller is only doing it to avoid fees.

never ever ever ever pay with gift online, you are not secured, and if you tell PayPal you paid as gift to a seller that was a bum they'll say too bad and hang up on you.

He has been reported
Claims he did nothing wrong. Something about his feedback on ebay. He didnt reply when I asked if he asks for gift on ebay too

Ok, so I'm the guy he's referring to. I gave my ebay references to him and my fredmiranda.com reference. It doesn't look though that he bothered to check them. My objective was to avoid paypal fees, I guess the right way would have been to ask him to pay the Paypal fees himself. I know this is not fredmiranda.com, but over there, it is common practice to ask the buyer to either pay as gift or add the Paypal fee in the final price.
And I did just respond to his cynical ebay question. This could have all been avoided if he just said no to my terms. If he didn't like it, all he had to do was either suggest that he would pay the fee after I made it clear to him that I didn't want to pay the fee, or simply say no thanks.
Instead, he made this a bigger issue than it really is.

Really?
I'm a noob here and I am careful and read a lot of scam threads I don't think I did anything wrong

Oh sure, you're the victim here.
1) I get a low ball offer for 2 phones. I agreed any way... Better than taking up space.
2) I supplied you with actual photos of the phones.
3) I supplied you with my ebay and fredmiranda.com accounts so you can check me out and cross reference my accounts.
4) If you bothered to check me out in fredmiranda.com, you'd see that I bought and sold tens of thousands of dollars worth of photo equipment... And not a single negative feedback!
5) And with you... All this for what? $50? Yes folks... For a $50 transaction for 2 phones.
This is definitely not worth it.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Xparent ICS Blue Tapatalk 2

It's been stated countless times to add Paypal fee into final price. why should it be up to the buyer to do the math for you? I hate when i see for sale threads with that crap on there. Just have it all factored into the final price. Simple

If you would have said you would put the sale on eBay you would be shipping them out already.
The lowball offer he's referring to are for a palm pixi and pre two dead phones with no future but I like webos but wont pay out the nose

This isn't the place to discuss this. Use the PM system to chat about it as it's nothing to do with anyone else.

We will either get the PS3s, or get coupons for something.
I ordered one last night, but I heard this morning they were cancelling all orders due to the misprint. It was worth a shot!
Yeah, it was Target. They tend to mess up like this frequently, lol. A month ago I was able to buy a $50 Playstation card for $18 because they messed up.

Hilarious! At least you tried
I was with a friend waiting at Wal-Mart one time when they printed a great deal on the PS3. Turns out it was a misprint on details of a game/movie combo. We didn't think it was a big deal, but a restless mother that was waiting before us wouldn't let it go so we got a bit of a bonus, too!

T-Mobile Employee discounts?

I was just curious of what discounts and perks the employees receive.
Thanks everyone!
I remember talking to one of the guys at a T-Mobile store a while back and I think he said that you get to buy a phone at the upgrade price every 6 months or something. I don't quite remember though, I may be Wrong.

Word to the wise, don't advertise much you're a tmo employee here or other blog sites, they don't like it, it's how I lost my job (last year, I have a much better one now)
But, since you asked, if you were hired direct to the company (not sine 3rd party wireless affiliate), last I checked, it was 2000 minutes, unlimited text for $10, unlimited data is an extra $5.
You get a 40% discount on the wholesale price of the device of your liking, but only for the first 2 lines. All additional lines are full price. You can have up to 6 lines (last I was there) with the criteria I listed above.
After 2 years, your 3rd and 4th year discount increase to 65%, and 5th year and higher, any device you want is free (but you have to pay outrageous taxes on the hardware)
They're a good company to work for, so long as you're in a position you like, and while they remain around).

First time eBay seller help?

Hi! I searched but couldn't find the answer so ha!
Lol anyways.
Okay so I found out you have to pay a small fee to sell and once you sell your item correct?
Okay so does ebay jut deducted the fee from your item sell money /PayPal account? Or do they take it immediately from your debit card on your paypal ? Or do you have to pay straight up before you can post your item?

Haven't sold in a while but from what I remember, you pay an insertion fee, depending on what it is and then you hve to pay a %'age of the total amount it sells for.
They set up an account for you and you have about a month to settle the balance iirc.
So if you need to wait for the item to be paid for before you're able to pay Ebay that's not a problem. It's all pretty easy once you've done it for the first time.
I think that's how it works anyway....
Also, did you just ask a sensible question??

Elgoog is your friend.
http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html#fees
It depends on how you sell it. The cheapest fee is with a starting price of 1 dollar and selling it by auction. The "buy it now" commission is pretty steep.
Enviado desde mi LT26i usando Tapatalk 2
Also, do an advanced search on feebay for "completed listings" of what you want to sell to see how they have done recently.
Start it as an auction like a $1, but put a buy it now price a little bit above what a comparable phone sold for. Maybe like 10% higher. That way if someone is hard up they will buy it to get it immediately.
Don't take checks. Require immediate paypal payment and give them next business day shipment. Not next day delivery unless they want to pay for it. Just promise to ship the next business day. (and do it) People are more apt to bid on yours over others if they know they are going to get good/prompt service.
Okay so after I sell it
They charge my fees on my paypal account?

Yes, usually towards the end of the month for me. PayPal take their chunk when you transfer your money from them to your bank.

I was refused a sale today

Walked into the three store wanting to buy the new htc 8x. They offered it on contract, but I already have a three contract, so wanted to buy the payg version (advertised in the shop and online at £349.99) The sales associate seemed so happy, so he took me towards the back to complete the sale
I waited for about 10 minutes. During this time he repeatedly tried to sell me a contract, but I explained to him that since I already had a three contract, I didn't need another one
After another 5 minutes, he told me that unfortunately he wouldn't be able to sell me the phone, as its a new phone and the manager only wants new phones to be sold with contracts
I didn't kick up a fuss as he was a nice guy and actually seemed quite disappointed to have to give me the bad news. I ordered the phone off Amazon when I got home
Can the manager do that? When they're clearly advertising the phone in their shop (and all other three shops, and online) as being available on payg for £349.99?
Was it a official retailer or was it a "subsidiary of O2" or something like that?

Proper procedures?

Some may know I recently purchased a Note 3 N900A from a trusted seller via Ebay. Upon arrival, it worked for a total of 4 days. I received a message from the seller "I'll buy back the device for $100. 1/4 of what I had actually paid for it! Through me off a little bit. Next morning, tried to make a phone call. "This device has been blocked from network use."
Now I'm pretty sure you can put two and two together. First receive a buy back message, ignored it. Next, find your device "blocked."
Consulted with the seller. He has no intentions of unblocking it because I refused to sell it back to him for 1/4 of what I had paid. Claims he tried to unblock it but we all know. "It's blocked under an At&t account. Only the blocker can unblock it."
Now I have receipt, everything. Prove it was an actual legitimate sale. Talk to Ebay and I just bounced around, "transfer here, transfer there." I know the seller doesn't have an At&t account but where he got the phone from. She had an At&t account. Upon time of purchase it was not activated on an account. Yes I've done my IMEI background check before purchase.
What would be the correct procedures handling this case?
Probably best answered from ones who had ran into the same issue.

and with this being a recent purchase "last week." PayPal may be the only bail out. Ebay isn't help. I keep getting "Please hold and that hold will last 30 minutes, sometimes 45." I do know at point of sale. IMEI was clean but once it's ran again. They'll see its not. Which will lead to questioning the seller.
Mentioning the police in your previous reply RErick. Thinking if I called the local police department where the seller is located. Would give him boost on the ass "Hey, you need to fix this or refund" thought?

I'll check out PayPal and do some digging with his local police department. Since At&t was no help! I know I can get it unblocked from the original owner if I had her name/number. Simple if she knew what he was actually doing. 9/10 it would be unblocked.
