USB Host Mode (OTG) - LG Optimus 4X HD

Hi everyone,
is there any way to connect the Optimus 4x HD per USB to a DSLR Camera, for using the app DSLR Dashboard?
I think that the P880 does not support the required OTG-Mode?!? I bought an usb OTG adapter in spite of - but no device is detected...
Maybe there is an app / software which enables USB Host Mode / OTG???
Any Ideas?

N1 on TV by HDMI cable

It is possible to use this cable to show NexusOne screen on TV?
Samsung Cable
It's similar to HTC's micro usb to hdmi cable for the incredible.
It won't work by just plugging it in but I don't see why it couldn't be made to work once we get the Galaxy S source/kernel/rom

It won't work, because there is no HW to support it. If there was - Desire and Evo would be sold with video out option.

[edit] For a full-scale USB2HDMI dongle support - there needs to be USB OTG support in the kernel, and it's not there yet. For HDMI out over USB you need HW in the phone, which isn't there. And the third option is a device which is USB master and needs a driver in the phone - I don't think this or Incredible's cable is such device.

[Q] USB On The Go (OTG)

I tried looking for details about USB OTG but unfortunately i didn't find much. If anyone would tell me is USB OTG a hardware+software feature or is it just a software feature?
Because what i am thinking is maybe if it is a software only feature someone could somehow develop such a software to enable USB OTG in our lovely OB!
Thank you for time and efforts.
It is definetly both: hard and software.
Normal usb hardware for mobiles only allow usb as a device. If the mobile has only such a port, no software can turn this port into usb host mode!
Hardware must enable the usb otg specification, wich allows usb in both mode: host and device.
But even if a mobile has the hardware usb otg port, maybe the software will only allow usb in device mode. Motorola atrix for example has the hardware feature but allow the otg mode only with tricks.
If lg p970 optimus black has the hardware possibilites for usb otg, i´m not sure. I personaly think that this is misssing, because you nearly find nothing about this in the internet.
greets sadran
I know it is in the wrong place but there is already a thread about it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445336
Actually there have been few threads but no developer had taken interest.
I stand corrected
Aprold said he will have a look if it is possible to be enabled.
Can a MOD unite the two threads and move them to appropriate section please?

OTG USB does not appear to be working at the moment

Hi,
Just picked up my Fire 7 from the usual high street retailer for £49.99 - didn't want to wait til 25th Oct based on Amazon UK times. It is an impressive spec and build for the money.
I have just tried a universal OTG USB adapter to a USB key and no joy. I've also connected powered USB devices to the OTG cable and the Fire 7 is not picking them up.
My OTG cable has worked with other Android devices that support OTG - so the cable definitely works. But I am not sure of the Fire 7 supports OTG or it might need another OTG cable?
Or r00t needed to open this up feature up?

Have you tried to connect a camera using your cable? There's an app specifically for that bundled with FireOS. Maybe it works only with cameras?

Yep I have tried two cameras and no joy. I'm thinking that my OTG cable could be toast?
Has anyone else tried OTG on the Fire 7 - can you please let me know how you get on?
UPDATE: I am making the assumption that the first tablet I had was faulty on the USB. The reason for this as I have just made another attempt OTG on my replacement Fire 7. The USB OTG is definitely powered by the tablet.
OTG USB 8gb drive working.
Photo Imported kicked in the moment I connected my Canon 7d mk II & 600d camera.
250Gb Drive kept dropping out - so defo not enough power to keep this connected.
Parani-UD100a USB Bluetooth Adapter - powered up but not showing as connected.
TP-Link TL-WN722N - no power light and did not show as connected.
OK would need a ROM to get the Parani & TP-Link to work but based on what I have just done, the OTG feature is definitely powered and gives us room for expansion if features could be enabled at a later date.
OTG works out the box for me with a cheap adapter off Amazon. I've found especially after the 5.0.1 update the tablet disconnects the sd card when the USB otg is in use. It's as if it can't power both at the same time. I connect a USB memory stick via otg and then all my apps become inaccessible from the sd card.
USB OTG Ethernet confirmed working - obviously it knocks out the Wifi and takes priority.
I used a standard USB 2.0 to Fast Ethernet Adapter and confirmed settings via Network Info II app.
Just loaded up WiFi PCAP with the TP-Link USB and the TP-Link is definitely not being picked up.

Honor 9 Lite - Endoscope camera USB

Hi,
I have got Honor 9 lite LLD-L21 8.0.0.135(C185) and I have bought endoscope USB camera.
APK camerafi see it as unknown device(1908,2311) but read it's spec 640x480, YUYV, 30 FPS and I dont have view.
Have you any solution, idea?
Spec phone and OTG apk show that USB OTG is enabled for my phone.
Cam works with other phones.
I heard something about root, kernel or low USB voltage are responisble, could you agree with it?
Any repilies, solutions will helpfull.
Thx.
All I can tell you is otg works fine on this device in terms of plugging in a USB stick
I've no idea what the requirements are for the camera you have
You can always get an otg cable with power

I am having the same problem. I purchased this camera
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MZQ6KVR
I can connect to my Macbook Pro and it shows the image. But when I connect it to my Huawei Honor 7x the phone does not see the camera. I use female USB to micro usb cable, since the Honor7x has micro usb port. Have you found a way to make it work?

What does the OTG cable do? It has one female USB port which would connect to the camera, one male micro usb port which would connect to the phone. What does the female micro usb port serve for? Where does the power come from?
