No it must your computer mine is can reach up to 10-39mb/s

That's odd, do you know something I can try to improve speed?
I'm using mass storage and NovaHD v1.1.0 (CM9) - I'll try to change USB port (even thinking it's not my computer)
Edit:
Changed to USB 3.0 port and the speed remains the same

I know this might sound silly, but is your partition on the hdd a bit fragmented maybe?
Copying lots of different small files from a fragmented disk can easily drop you to 2-3 mb/sec.

It's not fragmented, heheh. I used h2testw and I got 6 MB/s write.

[Q]ICS /datadata memory

Is it possible to increase the memory of /datadata (apps that are saved to phone memory) coz i cant install much applications. Especially when they cant be moved to SD card(usb storage) like facebook app, adobe flash player, paladog, gt racing, etc.
Even an app is saved to usb storage, somehow there's still some amount of memory stored in phone memory (/datadata).
Gingerbread can install much, you can even move apps to phone memory upto 1.9gb+-. To save some memory on usb storage.
Is there any way? Coz i like being on ics than gingerbread. One main reason is there are a lot of tweaks in ics. And good lockscreen.
Thanks!

you cannot increase /datadata
but you can use a datafix..... everything you need to know is here
Widgetlocker is a good lockscreen

AFAIK, not without decreasing the performance. Now the /datadata is located in a fast NAND chip (IIRC correctly) which has 170 MB capacity. That's the one reason why Cyanogenmod etc. have better performance vs Samsung roms.
So increasing /datadata partitions capacity means that it needs to be moved back to slower, bigger capacity flashchip. And that would be like in stock Samsung rom (BML layout).
You'll probably find more info by googling BML and MTD info about the SGS.
I hope i remembered everything correctly

Thanks for the help. Now I know what was the problem... I thought that my girlfriend would clean up her PHOTO folder, and she was like "I'm out of space and I don't know why"... Maybe those over 400 photos and counting...?

Lol.... is she blonde?
nope, brunette. But she takes photos like I take breaths of air and she forgets to save them to pc (don't tell her but it's a good thing she didn't because my hdd failed and I lost everything and if she moved them well you know who would have been blamed)

does SWAP help making games less lag?

soi curreltny made a 256 mb swap file and using v6 supercharger and everything but i didn'treally notice a difference in game performance , i can open like 5 apps but games nbot really?is it normal?
The smoothness of games depends also on the power of the cpu and gpu, which isn't the ace's strenght.
Swap helps for multitasking and keeping apps in memory longer (which reduces app loading time) but it won't make games run better or faster.
I guess little bit it help in performance of game as its usefull in load game data faster !

If your sd card is class 6 or lower, it can even slow down your games
After installing some heavy games, there's really no gaming difference. Only multi tasking has drastically improved.
I even tried out JB this afternoon using this same method and it still didn't make a gaming difference. The multi tasking is awesome though so I have no complaints.
How hard on a SD card is this?

I bought an extra one just for swap. Bought a 4GB class 4. Not risking my 8GB. It's hard on a SD with INT2EXT+ also installed. I don't know how long it'll last but once you got swap, you'll never go back.
I can play Tank Hero, switch to facebook on Opera Mini while answering to chats on WhatsApp and IMO instant messenger. Without having my game interrupted. AND run a bunch of widgets that would slow down my phone. Multi-tasking is incredible.
And the best part is, since I'm using a swap file and not partition, I can shrink or increase the swap size at will

Yeah dude. Try it out. Just make a backup before you do.
Swap is pretty useless on mobile
And you get a dead SD card with it too, like those buy one get one free in shops

Don't generalize. It's useless to you. I bet you haven't even used it before.

Swap file possible?

I used roehsoft ram expander on my old wildfire buzz to create a swap file on my sd card to increase the ram memory and it worked pretty well.
Is it possible to use this with the same mini? I ran a test using an app from play store, screen shot below. It may not be accurate. It says the kernel isn't compatible.
Sent from my GT-I8190 using Tapatalk 2
The reason for this may be because willy had a custom kernel and our device hasn't got a custom kernel, I came from wildfire aswell.
Sent from my GT-I8190 using xda premium
Well maybe you're right although I tried to run ram expander and it says error no sd card. I set the correct location and it refuses to detect it.
Sent from my GT-I8190 using Tapatalk 2
Do you realy need more ram?? 1gb is not enough?
Sent from my GT-I8190 using xda premium
While the system + running apps is using around 400 - 600 mb sometimes more, I don't want to have to clean up every time I watch a high quality video via my tv or play a heavy game. Some games optimally uses about 500mb, etc. No 1gb isn't enough xd.
Yes I can use su boost via console and it isn't hard, but if I could have more ram wouldn't that be optimal? Who doesn't want more? Why not just stick with a old handset if 1gb is all you'll ever need. I bet a year from now you'll want more when 1gb is relatively small
Sent from my GT-I8190 using Tapatalk 2
Yes you are right.
Sent from my GT-I8190 using xda premium
So I guess the question is, what would need to be modified in the kernel to allow creation of the swap file in the SD? Things like this is making me interested in learning android development

Then maybe you should've gone with Note II or a new PC. S3 Mini is not for gaming.

What app are you using for the swap file? Ram manager, ram expander, etc etc.

There has been a recent discussion about swap files and the virtues of Ram Manager v. Roehsoft Ram Expander over in the AOIP ROM thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2284587&page=149
(the discussion begins earlier in the thread but this page sums it up nicely)
I tried both and found that Ram Expander seemed to help noticeably with multitasking, but it costs about $10.
Also keep in mind that a swap on your internal storage is probably a bad idea (since the flash memory will wear out) but if you put it on a fast (class 10) external SD card with wear-leveling then you should be all set. You'll need to suspend the swap file when you mount your phone's storage via USB, but Ram Expander has a quick option for that.
