ArmorSuit MilitaryShield - Google Nexus 7 Screen Protector Shield - Nexus 7 Accessories

I am just posting to warn everyone away from getting this accessory.
Mine arrived promptly from Amazon in perfect condition, but my N7 would not accept touch input after correct application. I am not a newb with wet application screen protectors, and the one that came with my Dell Streak 7's Otterbox worked immediately after application. The instructions suggested a 12-24 hour curing period for full effectiveness, which is outrageous. Nothing like that was immediately evident in their Amazon page.
For $14-$20, this protector should have made my N7 levitate. I think I'll stick with dry application protectors from now on. Never had this kind of trouble with 5-for-$10 protectors.

I bought one of these a few days after my tablet. after letting dry 24 hrs, it works perfectly with no significant change to the sensitivty
the only complaint I have is I have a yoomee case that has a few clips that curve over the lip of the display, one of the upper clips caused it to warp a little (just under the tab) but its not signifcantly noticeable.

I also got the armorsuit and couldn't be happier with it. I was even able to reapply it to my replacement nexus 7 by simply peeling it off and following the install instructions again. Perhaps you received a defective item?
Only issue I've noticed with it is that if you keep something sharp on it and apply force, it dents the screen protector a bit.

screen protector
Mine works fine, but I scratched/dented it a bit and it looks kind of ugly now.

I got mine and im happy with it, i couldnt touch it at first after application because it was still wet when everything dried up it was working fine. The screen protector is a little rubbery though and when my nephew was using it he left dents on the screen protector but it healed itself in a day so overall its not a bad product.

I got this and I really like it. Most people see my Nexus 7 and don't even realize there is a screen protector on it.
Let it dry LIKE THE INSTRUCTIONS SAY. You will be happy with it.
PS This was the easiest install of ANY screen protector that I ever installed. Less than 5 minutes from start to finish.

Mine works perfectly fine. I have used wrapsol, skinomi and zagg before on other devices and I can surely say that this one is as good as wrapsol and way better than skinomi and zagg.

Mine is great after letting it dry no complaints here need to read instructions and be patient

so do the dents heal themselves? looks like the screen protector gets dents real quick based on other users' experience?

Dents heal for me but haven't had any major ones or major scrathes got dents from my old case but new case doesn't dent it n old dents are gone
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2

Just as a general response, I did read the directions. Prior to application. If you read the Amazon page, you'll see others with my experience. In no place in the instructions does it indicate that you will lose all touch sensitivity immediately after application.
And in contrast to the responses here, others have the same complaint as mine, over at Amazon.
Additionally, if I am going to have lose my tablet for a day, I'd like to know about that before I decide to purchase the product, not find that information as a side note at the end of the instructions flyer as a "suggestion" or "recommendation."

I hear you. I noticed the lack of response immediately too. But when I left it alone, and the next day it was great. Also, on my old HTC Flyer, I used Zagg Invisible Shield (wet) and did have functionality right away. But once that dried, the Zagg made the screen look like it was orange peel textured.
IMHO this is a WAY better screen protector than Zagg, and I recommend this to anyone thinking of getting a screen protector for their N7 or any smart device.

I tried that MilitaryShield on my GT10.1 and it blew goats. Same problems as described here after careful application. Now I just use the el cheapo on ebay at 3 bucks a pop and they work fine for my nexus 7.

I bought three cheap dry protectors on Ebay for $6. The first one I tried to apply before I used my tablet, big surprise after taking it out of the package it was warped on the bottom so that it wouldn't lay flat. The second one I tried putting on a few minutes ago and it was just slightly too big, so much so, that none of the corners would fit on the screen at once.
So the cheap ones can be bad too.

Screen Protector

I've always been one to use screen protectors on my displays, even on gorilla glass. With the nexus 7 using an unconfirmed type of corning glass (ie it might not be gorilla glass and instead just have a scratch resistant coating), i figured to go shopping.
XO skins is the company I've been buying from recently. It is very easy to find coupons that will work online. They work really well, although they can feel a bit rubbery. They do NOT have the orange peel texture companies like zagg are known for. Since it is a wet installation, it is sometimes possible to see "rainbow streaks" under the screen over a white background. If you run into this problem, shoot them an email and they'll send you a replacement. Customer service is excellent.

This next one i haven't tried, but it differs from the above protector in that it is a static cling installation. This would probably be good for those who are against wet installations, or fans screen protectors from companies such as steinheil. This one is anti-glare though, so it is likely that it has a matte-textured or cloudy display.

We should be seeing more in the next few weeks. If you find one, post it
until then, cheers
I'll definitely be going with the Skinomi: I've done both Skinomi and ZAGG, and ZAGG is just too sticky for my taste. IMO, my fingers just glide over the screen much easier with a Skinomi protector.
I've always gone with xoskins and their customer service is AMAZING. No joke, if you feel unsatisfied with your screen protector, just email them and they'll most likely send you a new one. I got one for my Galaxy Nexus though one thing about these types of screen protectors is that dents and marks got onto them pretty easily. Even so, I'll still be getting an xoskin for my Nexus 7 (assuming I get one soon).

+1 SGP for screen protectors & skinomi for silver carbon fiber kit
SGPs are great but expensive. I've bought 5$ screen protectors from Frys that have the same quality as my SGPs. Skinomi intends to scratch very easily and it doesn't self heal. Never had experience with XO skins though and I'm not a big fan of water based once anymore since they seem to dent and scratch easily X_x..
I am not a fan of protectors. I don't use one on my Sony EReader (soft screen) or my Motorola phone (Gorilla).
Both have cases, and are scratch-free after a couple of years use.
That works better for me.
Here's what SGP CS wrote back to me when I asked if they plan to make a SP for the Nexus 7
Thank you for contacting Spigen.com Customer Service Department.
Hi, my name is Diana from Spigen.com.
Thank you for your interest in our products! As of now, we don’t have any definite plans to make screen protectors for the Asus Nexus 7 Tablet. However, if there is increased interest from our customers, we may change our production plans in the future. Please check our website for any updates time to time.

Funny thing is that they usually reply with that for most new products if I'm not mistaken.
I'm hoping Clarivue will make a Nexus 7 protector soon. I've always like them, but I'm an acrylic protector kind of person. Just never cared for the "rubbery" feel. I'll put up with the very occasional minor scratch that you can't even see when the screen's on in exchange for a feel that's identical to the screen itself.
i am looking for full body screen protector as iphone
hope sgp makes one soon

There is a local mall booth that installs/sells protectors for a decent price, I always like having them do it because guaranteed no bubbles, no shipping time, and $5 replacements for life. I just hope they carry tablet protectors.

Ghost Armor asap, I've had it on every device since my HTC hd2 and it works great for me. Stock gorilla glass (I know the n7 doesn't have it but my wife's Lumia does) seems to get greasy to easily. With my s2 if I get a little dirty I just rub on my pants

I normally just use cheap ones of ebay on my phones which work well enough however my father got a samusung 10.1 and I think because of the size the static as you pull off the second layer just sucked any surrounding particles to the skin.
I bought one from bestskinsever which is a wet application one and it worked very well and was decently priced so I'm planning to get one from them for the Nexus and my new HTC One XL.
I sent a query on their site and got an initial automated reply, the more queries they got for the Nexus the quicker they will start making them.
I used to use typical screen protectors, but I feel they are easier to get bubbles and dust stuck under them and are much less forgiving for mistakes. This is an even bigger problem with larger screens.
I now only use wet application screen protectors, such as InvisibleShield (too expensive), BestSkinsEver, and Prestige / XtremeGuard. There are much easier to apply after practicing on other devices, much more forgiving as if you don't align right, you can easily remove as it's still wet and just spray more of the solution on (water + drop of dish detergent). The secret is to make sure it's always wet when applying and then once it's on, squeegee..if it's not on yet, keep it wet. They do have a bit of texture, but I don't mind it.
I ordered XtremeGuard from ebay for $9 shipped.. much cheaper than the alternatives right now and it ships quick from Utah. I also ordered a folio style case specifically for the Nexus 7 from ebay (shipped from Hong Kong) .. i made sure it was specific because others are selling Kindle Fire cases, but this one has specific slots for speaker and other inputs and is under $10.
Also to the person wanting full body skin...it doesn't make sense to cover the soft back of the Nexus 7 with something like InvisibleShield.

Yeah, I wouldn't go with anything other than XOSkins.
I'm absolutely 100% satisfied with the way they've worked on my Nexus.
I "pre-ordered" my Skinomi case from Amazon last week. They estimate 8/1 as the shipping date. That could mean two weeks without a screen protector. My OCD-ness won't like that.

Have you used an XOSkin to be able compare the two? I'm just curious about Matte protectors.

Do you use a screen protector?

Just wondering, because I don't really want to. My HTC Desire S has been without screen protection or case, and it's been fine for 1.5 years now. I just prefer to have the screen as clear and smooth as possible.
So who uses protectors and who doesnt?
Not me. I bought 2 of the 75% off ones, but I doubt I'll put it on. If it's in a case or sleeve, I don't really see the need.
There's a few thousand theads on this already... Some people use them, some people don't. It's personal preference. I use them because they increase the resale value of my electronics. I buy and sell phones and tablets every few months; the number one thing that people don't like is a scratched screen.
I do. I'm currently using an ultra clear one from Clarivue. Its working great thus far aside from the Polaroid effect sometimes when looking at it from an angle. I also ordered 2 from XtremeGuard during the 75% sale.

personally, i go for both a screen protector and a case. with the prices of ebay hong kong shipping worldwide, it will cost you around $20 for a decent screen protector (or 10) and case. its a lot cheaper than paying $150 to have the screen replaced or paying another $250-300 for another N7 if you accidentally drop it.
i never did before until I had kids...my two year old got a hold of my htc view (2 days old) and scratched it up with the end of the micro usb cable.AAHHH!!! since then I have tried many differnt protectors but clearplex feels and works best for me. it actually feels like the glass screen and doesnt feel plasticky
I use anti-glare screen protectors
i got those xtremeguard ones and proceed to rip it off the screen because the grib was pissing me off

I prefer to but the ones I ordered have yet to arrive.
For the first time I chose a matte option as I spend a lot of time outside on campus (in sunny Florida) and hate glare.

Yes I do. I bought armorsuit and its as good as the screen itself. Highly recommended.

Not using one here...but I would consider an ant-glare one.
I don't but only because it's a slow boat from hong kong and my tablet took the air route and beat all the ebay accessories here
I've never had a scratched screen on a touch device, and I'd rather avoid having one, so I will be putting a clear cover over the screen when it gets here.
Cheapie anti-glare from CrazyOnDigital (ScreenGuard). Bought these (3 for $4.95 on Amazon) while waiting for SGP to come out with a Nexus 7 screen protector but these are just fine, so may not even replace them. Anti-glare and oleophobic means that slight texture that bothers some folks but I actually prefer over the naked glass. YMMV.
Using the zagg HD . Best one yet (I've tried everything)

no way. If you're planning on having it more than 3 months there's no point.
No. I hate the feel of screen protectors and i have a case to protect the screen when not in use, which really is the only time i need to worry about it.
I can't even use them on my phone because i hate how they feel or leave more finger points than the glass.
No, don't used then, never have scratch issues.... I am very protective of my electronics. Nobody plays with them but me, they have their own.

I ordered an Xtremeguard protector during their 75% off sale.
I happy that it has no 'orange peel' compared to the InvisibleShield.
No regrets, mostly because it was 75% off.

I also bought 2 XtremeGuards and they are crap. I put one on, let it completely dry out for 10 hours (I'm in Arizona super hot and super dry), and it has major problems with touch sensitivity (won't register my touches consistently). I removed the screen protector and the touch screen works fine, so it is the screen protector.
I've used dry screen protectors before on my phones and I never had a problem with touch sensitivity. This is my first wet application and it sucked to the Nth degree. I would not recommend XtremeGuard. Not in a million years.

I also puchased an armorsuit, and its great, seems very strong, durable, no loss in feel or touch on the screen, and virtually no increase in glare.

Nexus 7 with Skinomi

Dear All,
Did anyone purchase and install a Skinomi screen protector on their Nexus 7 yet? What is the general opinion on the Skinomi Techskin screen protector? Your comments are highly regarded as I'm thinking which wet screen protector to purchase for my Nexus 7.
Thanks.
I personally do not like Skinomi. they damage and bruise easily in my opinion. For the price you pay the quality degrades quick. Bruising occurs more frequently in wet screen protectors I buy.
My skinomi just arrived today and best buy installed it perfectly for free. I'm letting it sit for a day until I use it. I'll keep you updated.

Got pictures?
I installed the carbon-fiber one on my N7; first time installing a skin type cover and wet screen protector.
Getting everything lined up was a pain for the skin itself. Had to pull it up and recenter several times, and still didn't get it perfect as I had hoped.
You use a heat gun/hairdryer to "seal" it to the device, so it doesn't peel off after you've installed it.
I don't worry about sitting my N7 down on tables/chairs now, as there's no chance to accidentally scratch the back.
The screen protector went on without an issue, just take your time and keep your fingertips wet with solution. Watch their instructional youtube videos before trying.
The resilience/self healing of the screen protector seems poor. Scrape your fingernail into it, and the mark is there forever, but it's only noticeable when the screen is off.
The protector finger/slide feel is better than dry protectors I've used, but it's not like naked glass.
The viewing quality of the screen doesn't seem impaired at all by the protector. No weird off-angle reflection or rainbow effects, or texture while the screen is on.
IMO it works, but is overpriced for what you get.
Still waiting on my Skinomi Carbon with Protector...how long did it take for you? How is the 'gripiness' of the carbon? I like the stock rubbery feel and don't want to drop it.
Thanks
RF
my skinomi should arrive any day now. will post review n pic sometime this weekend i suppose.
and remember, code get25 will get u 25% off. $20 for both nexus and RAZR protector including shipping n tax? i dig it.
I let mine sit for about 30 hours and then took a look at it. The bottom right corner is BARELY too long and hangs over the edge a little bit. Everywhere else fits perfectly, so I know it's a problem with the protector. It goes to the edge everywhere else. I'll power it on in the morning. $12 with one day shipping with Amazon Prime and I think it's worth it. I put my TPU case on it and don't notice the corner. I'll let you know if it peels back.

Gripness is poor compared to the glorious naked back of the N7, which is the best I've felt on a tablet. Slippery even though it's textured. Disappointing, but seems protective against surface scratches.
Took probably 45 mins to install skin and screen protector.

The edges haven't peeled up anymore. Screen is clear and looks good. However, after using the Zagg on my Galaxy Nexus, the Skinomi on my nexus 7 is like using flypaper. I HATE the feel of it. I'm sure it'll improve over time, but it's not even close to the quality of my Zagg. If I had to choose again, I'd choose Zagg.

Installed Skimoni on my Nexus 7 2 weeks ago, love it, easy to install, screen was not responsive for a few hours after installation but now everything is ok.
I've been using a Skinomi for a couple weeks and I think it's good. I decided to go with just a screen protector rather than a case. Most of the cases I've seen make the N7 too thick in my opinion.
The screen protector went on easily enough. I did get a bit of dust under the screen protector near the right edge that I notice every time I look at my N7. I agree that the screen protector takes away from the great feel of the naked screen but since the screen isn't gorilla glass, I think it needs something to protect it.

just installed it last night. this morning it looks glorious.
First thoughts:
- less than 15 minutes to install. just make sure u follow the video instructions EXACTLY. when it asks u to put water on ur hand, u ask, how much? when it want u to pick up the protector, u ask, how slow should i move? For a first time user with wet installation, that was a walk in a park. clean device. spray fingers. spray protector. peel. spray protector again. stick. slide. remove bubble. pat to dry.
- there are smudges and micro bubbles, but by morning they're all gone. don't worry.
- the smoothness feeling is different, the skinomi feels a little more "sticky", especially if u put pressure. but if ur a light-touch user, it's just as smooth.
- under reflection, i can almost see why it's called "orange peel texture", but i could not feel it in my hand. a bit "sticky" but nowhere near "rough".
- it's somewhat fingerprint resistant, but not 100% smudge-resistant.
- the skin feels a bit "soft", so scratching it with ur nail or keys will leave a mark, but u can't feel that mark at all and it seems to disappear after awhile.
- clarity is top-notch. i could not find any difference in color or brightness when i test it with a couple 1080p movies (Lorax for color, Wall-E for darker environment)
- size/cut quality, however, is the only "not perfect" score. it's a tiny bit smaller than my nexus (about 1, maybe 1.5mm at most) so the edges where the screen protector ends, and fairly *thick*, so it is a bit "sharp" (u can feel this when u slide down the notification from outside the protector into the screen) and it does attract dust in the corners.
overall, very happy. not incredibly happy or anything (abit thick and soft and sticky from what i expected), but it's clear, protects, and barely noticeable.
will take pic later...
I give it a 7/10. I got the Black Carbon kit. Skinomi is the only mfg that I can find, that also covers the bottom part of the silver bezel. I wish they included 4 more strips for the top half of the bezel. The Carbon back could probably be about 1mm longer in length. If you line up the speaker cut out perfectly (equal distance all around the perimeter of the speaker), the bottom microphone hole gets covered. I had to "cheat" the skin down so the edge of the speaker cut out on top, was right at the edge of the speaker. That left about 1mm of space at the bottom of the speaker where you can see the dimpled rubber stock back. This also leaves about 1mm of space on the top, near the Micro USB, where you can see the stock back. But this does line all the mic holes up and it is flush at the bottom. You *really* have to look hard to see this, so 9/10. The side pieces look fine, although around the POGO Plug takes some fiddling.
The screen protector it a "soft type" (I call the rubbery/vinyl type soft, and the plastic type hard). I have a Seidio "hard" type on my Nexus S, and love it. It doesn't have a mark on it after 2 years and looks like glass with the screen off and light reflected off it. This screen protector has very slight "orange Peel" and also what look like "crease marks" all over it. You can only see these with the screen off and looking at reflected light, with the screen on, it is perfect. It does scuff. I like that it had actual cut outs for both the camera and flash. Install was fine (steamy bathroom and latex gloves), no bubbles and imperfections do disappear after 24 hours and fit is perfect. 8/10.
These are all niggles, I'll be leaving it on.
After having mine on to about a week, my screen has started losing responsiveness until I reboot. Probably a rogue app, but it makes me wonder.

I've had one on for a few weeks now. I have to say I'm not a huge fan. I would describe the texture as gummy and it has made my tablet less pleasant to use. I'm probably going to switch it out for the default screen protector that comes with otterbox I intend to purchase. I've had a much better experience with those on a couple of other devices.

i agree. gummy is a better word to describe it. i was going with "soft and sticky" :silly:
but for me it's not overly gummy, and the "gummy-ness" does protect from finger prints and scratches. it does leave a mark but it "heals" up pretty well.
also, just realized that i kind of missed the center abit, so the space on the left is a bit larger than the right, and the bottom right corner kinda lift up abit. completely fine, but being a perfectionist with screen protectors, i feel like i have to redo it.....
anybody can comment on redo-ing a Skinomi?

Cant you just contact them for a free replacement if you messed up? I think I read somewhere that they do that.
I know most screen protector manufacturers allow that.
I just ordered a screen protector (no back protection, not a fan of the fake carbon/aluminum stuff) for $12 after shipping. Found a 25% off coupon online, it was "get25" I think.
I've used both dry and wet application type protectors in the past. And yea, the dry ones always feel better, but I still prefer the wet ones because its easier to get a perfect fit.
If you're good any fitting screen protectors perfectly or just dont care that it might be slighhttly off, then go for a dry application one.
I personally cant stand if the edge of the protector isnt parallel to the edge of the screen, or if the spacing on the edges are uneven lol. So I go for wet ones.
yup. just saw FAQ that it's easy to remove, wash, and re-apply. guess that's what i'll be doing when i get home
(maybe this time i'll take pictures... lol)

Looking for results on screen protectors with spen usage

I have read through the other screen protector thread and I feel like it's just a mess to read through because it's people either simply stating what they ordered or SSHguru from just like glass suggesting his product or talking back and forth with people about the orders. Just like glass is definitely one of the protectors I am considering as well as possibly looking at the SPIGEN SGP protectors.
I have not used a screen protector on a phone in a few years but due to the screen being so big and not being able to get insurance on the phone this time I feel a screen protector is wise. I just want to make sure it will not hinder the use of the spen. I am no artist and can barely draw a stick figure or even write with a pen for that matter, I just have horrible handwriting. So as long it still functions correctly I am happy with it.
I am thinking of adding a pole to this with the ones most recommended.

I am using Just like glass, I also have horrible handwriting and cant drew worth crap! (even my stick figures are bad!) It is a great product!! and SSHguru (AKA Scott) Is great as far as responding to emails and posts / concerns. That being said the protector I relived is a little short (Files where too big to upload!) and it sounds like he had an issue with the manufacturer. So I would wait until that gets figured out before ordering!

Ok thanks! And that was one of the reasons I am interested in his JLG, it just became hard to read through everything since it turned more into a thread about his protector and why to buy no others as well as him supporting people. His support is great from what I was reading. I just wanted to get the ball rolling on a thread that is about actually using the protectors and how they have worked out for people so far on all brands. I know zagg is something I will go no where near.

Ok thanks! And that was one of the reasons I am interested in his JLG, it just became hard to read through everything since it turned more into a thread about his protector and why to buy no others as well as him supporting people. Actually just got an email from Scott "We actually got a real Note II and laser scanned it.
The new cut is shipping to you today.
Thanks for the help!
Scott"
So I cant be positive until I receive it but assuming it is the right fit I would very highly recommend it!
I went ahead and ordered one.
I got the zag invisible shield on today. It takes 24 hrs to dry. So I will let you know once it dries.

The invisishield hd is a no go for stylus users. My brother had one on his and the sketch he did with it is permanently on his screen protector now.

I'm using the Spigen Ultra Crystal and despite it not covering the screen entirely I love it. It's virtually unnoticeable other than the fingerprints that it collects, which is something you'll see with all screen protectors(I had issues even on my oleophobic that I had on my GS2). The stylus works just as well as it did before I put the protector on it and there are zero marks on it from the stylus since I've been using it(5 days)
I'm using a Spigen Ultra Oleophobic and, in retrospect, I wish I'd left my Ultra Crystal on. The Ultra Crystal was all but invisible aside from the fingerprints that wipe off cleanly, whereas fingerprints on the Ultra Oleophobic leave behind a film that makes the fact that you're using a screen protector painfully obvious. All things considered, I should have stayed with the Ultra Crystal, and it's only my desire to not give up on a $7.50 screen protector ten days after getting the phone (as I did with my Ultra Crystal) keeps the Ultra Oleo on there.
That being said, I use my S Pen regularly, and neither Spigen protector ever showed signs of wear or marking from the S Pen. I did have an Xtreme Guard screen protector on there for a few days after getting the phone, and it was badly marked up by the S Pen. My theory is that wet-apply protectors are just a bad idea with the Note 2, as gooey plastic (which is basically what they are) is prone to being scratched up and dragged around by pointy objects.
I use the same material used on cars for their clear bras. S pen works fine, and it's very tough. I use it on my iPad 3 as well. Never buying screen protectors again. Lol
Reporting back with my feedback from using the zag invisible shield.
No marks have been left on it with my s pen. It is not as smooth as writing on the screen though. I am happy.

This is completely bogus. I had two zaggs on my Note 2, one replaced by Best Buy because the S-Pen marks were so profound, the second removed because it happened to the improved Zagg... Even with the second being a Zagg HD, I was 100% let down by this product. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.
The SGP Ultra Crystal is, by far, the best available, as far as the S-Pen goes. It's just too hard for it to even think about leaving marks. That being said, I am eagerly awaiting my new re-cut just like glass to see if it's all that it's cracked up to be. If not, I will be certain to let you know... and subsequently go back to a SGP Ultra.

Has anyone noticed any delay/lessened sensitivity issues with either the SGP or JLG screen protectors? It's awesome that the note 2 has 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity (I'm assuming it's built into the spen), but I wouldn't want a screen protector getting in the way of that.
Spigen ultra clear here works fine

I wouldn't do that...you WILL get marks on it...I can almost guarantee it. I too had the Zagg HD and after a few days use, there were s pen marks all over it. Initially it seemed like a great protector...actually, without the s pen it would be. However, if you look at your screen with it turned off you can see marks all over it. Go with xtremeguard, Just Like Glass or Spigen...any one of those will hold up better and they are all quite a bit less expensive.

I don't much care how the screen looks while off.
I don't really use the pen much either, just don't want that rubbery feel (OG Zagg) when I do.
As far as price, I don't really care as long as I get what I want. Also, working at Best Buy has its advantages

Screen Protectors

What are the best options for screen protectors right now? Has anyone tried the spigen ultra crystal for the g2, i have had good experiences with them in the past. I know that with my galaxy nexus the glass was curved so much that a normal screen protector couldn't fit across the entire screen and the wet apply screen protectors were a mess and looked horrible. Does the g2 have the same problem?
I was wondering the same thing. Anyone bought a screen protector they're happy with? Not a big fan of the wet application type
I used one of the wet application ones from Phantom Skinz (sp?) on my Nexus. It worked so well that I plan on ordering one for the G2.
I actually got the ones from T-Mobile and was quite surprised on how much I like them! They are a dry application, very easy to install, not sticky at all (feel very much like the natural surface before the screen protector), and what I like most...very, very clear and fingerprint and smudge resistant. The only downside is they are a little bit more than I usually spend on screen protectors, $17 for 2.

Wow that seems like a good sign, the best screen protector is one that you can't tell is on the phone. I'm curious, how much of the screen does it cover and do you have any pictures of it installed that you could share?
I got the only one that AT&T stocked. It's a glossy as opposed to an anti glare but the fit and finish is spot on and I can't even tell it's there. Very pleased.
/except for the glossy part
I picked up a few screen protectors from xtreemguard .com. pretty much the same thing as best skins ever. Used code fall80 for 80 percent off. Order was 3 bucks for shipping and two screen. Shipping was fast. Not amazing but definitely the best under $10.
I'm currently rocking the XOSkins wet application screen protector and like it so far.

I have the iloome flex tempered glass screen protector on order so I picked up the Supershieldz off ebay (6 for $5 shipped) as a hold over. They're dry application, fit well, and have decent clarity. Probably not terribly different from most plastic films, but man it hazes up from fingerprints like nothing else. I cleaned it off today with rubbing alcohol and it has already picked up some mild scratches. Guess you cant expect too much for less than a buck per screen protector.

I use the Spigen Ultra Crystal. My third phone whith them. Would not use any other. It actually seems just a tad small but I guess that leaves room for a case. It leaves about an 1/8 of an inch around the sides.
I use to pay the big money for ZAGG. When I bought my G2 (9/12) there wasn't anyone that had screen protectors, so I bought the 3 pack from VZW. I still have the first one on, and no issues. Paid like 10 bucks. It works fine for me.

Do the sides have any problems with the edges? And are you using a case with it?

I bought the overpriced crap from Verizon and they just peeled up with the gel case I bought from them too. Ordered the 80% off xtreme skins or whatever they're called and they're great. Fit nicely under the case. Only gripe I have is the screen isn't as slick as the ones from Verizon or the actual screen.
Well this time I just tried a bit different.... its not Zagg one...its not Spigen..but this time I tried Privacy at Fommy.....
heard a lot about it from one of my friend and after wearing it on my G2.. I can say that the thing it says..it delivers..now I can easily check out my official mails at crowded place and am not worried about the guys standing around me as its not visible to them..that is something I really like about it and moreover it is very finely gripped on the phone and does not even give the feel as If I have placed something on the screen.....I know its quite new one but I am liking this product...
Go with the iloome tempered glass protector I had one on my note 2 it works great and it curves to the edges

Just wanted everyone to know that I picked up these from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EL94VPQ/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and although they fit well, the adhesive is too weak and they are slightly too big. The is a little lifting around the edges but the poetic case does not interfere with it.
I use these:
http://www.techarmor.com/by-device/...acement-warranty-3-pack-retail-packaging.html
Easy to install and the edges do not interfere with my VZW shell/holster case. Been using on my N7 with poetic case for several months and still looks beautiful. Comes with lifetime guarantee too.
