Stock Dialer with no visual voicemail button? - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

I removed Visual Voicemail and I'd like a dialer that doesn't have that butoon, or one that would link to google voice instead. I know the holics dialer doesn't have that issue, but I was going through the holics rom, can't figure out which APK I need to replace, and I don't know that it would work or not. Any suggestions?

Using root explorer I cut and replaced the htcdialer.apk and my phone process kept crashing. Why?
EDIT: A reboot fixed the issue, but now i Have no dialer. WTF?

Did you install the apk or did you swap it?

I swapped it. I got it fixed using nandroid but it's the stock one with the stupid visual voice mail button

If you're swapping this apk, make sure you're also setting permissions to RW/R/R. That said, I found the .smali method that's calling VVM, I'm trying to figure out if I can make it launch Google Voice instead. Probably not that smart though.
Edit: Turns out I am that smart. I got it to launch Google Voice, but it launches to a blank screen, rather than your VM Inbox...working on it though. I'll figure it out..
Edit 2: Got it launching to GV Inbox. Changing the icon now.

Here is a flashable package for a modded HtcDialer.apk that includes the following changes:
-ATT VVM icon changed to GV icon
-GV icon launches GV inbox
I'd recommend a backup first... but I have confirmed it working for me

New Dialer?

Is there anyway to get rid of the stupid Motorola Dialer and load any of the T-9 Dialing HTC Dialer's? I've seen and tried AtakePhone and DialerOne and don't really care for them.
You can't load any of the HTC dialer apps because they all tie into the Sense framework.

Just out of curiosity... what didn't you like about DialerOne? I've been using it for a bit and, while not as good as the HTC options, I find it much better than the Moto Dialer.
I liked Dialer1 on my Eris, but really love the stock dialer on the DX
Has anyone been able to set dialer one as default dialer? Also after you start it the screen will go to contacts no matter what the setting is.

I downloaded Dialer one and install yesterday with no problem.
First time I went to the dialer, the launcher asked which dialer, and allowed me to set dialer one as default. Been working fine so far.
Dialer One rocks! I love how I can use the keypad to find a contact. That was the one thing I missed having since upgrading my O2.

[APP] [3/14/11] Honeycomb themed Google Voice widgets!

My first attempt at theming/skinning!
For some reason the corners look a little messed up in the screenshots. I don't notice that at all on my Fascinate, but I'll check it out later. I need sleep!
Enjoy!
Updated for 0.4.2.24.
To install:
1. Uninstall Google Voice from Settings
2. Open a terminal/adb shell
3. cd to /dbdata/databases
4. Delete the folder "com.google.android.apps.googlevoice"
5. Install this skinned version.
Those look awesome. I was thinking of doing a honeycomb theme on my phone tonight. If I do I will let you know how they work.
So I loaded them up and they are definitely AWESOME. There isn't any distortion like you see in the screen shot by the way.

I can't believe this didn't get more interest. I was hoping you might update this for the latest Google Voice. Otherwise I may have to stick with the old version to use your awesome Widgets.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
Great job man! Also can you tell me what people widget that is on the second screeny?
The People widget comes in LauncherPro plus.
Glad you like them so much, I'll update it probably tomorrow. I've been so busy sleeping during spring break.

I'm using this on my phone and on my nook. Great work sir, I look forward to the new version.
For some reason I'm having trouble replacing my regular Google voice with this. It still shows the original white widget
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Use titanium to uninstall and reboot. Rinse and repeat until there is no Google voice on your device. Then install as a normal apk.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
Updated! Check the OP.
Also, to properly uninstall Google Voice, do this:
1. Uninstall Google Voice from Settings
2. Open a terminal/adb shell
3. cd to /dbdata/databases
4. Delete the folder "com.google.android.apps.googlevoice"
Then install my skinned version.
If you don't do this, I think it keeps asking you to log in over and over again. Same thing happens with Honeycomb-skinned LauncherPro.

[APP][MOD]ICS launcher|3 screens|auto-rotate|Stock + CM9 Trebuchet versions

So this is essentially a combo between the stock ICS launcher + auto-rotate posted by bajansurfer and the 3 screen stock ICS launcher posted by matt_stang. what i'm posting is a 3 screen launcher which auto-rotates for landscape mode. I'm running oICSv26 and it works flawlessly (the app is actually sourced from koush's build). obviously i didn't create these mods, but only really combined them.
you should know what to do with this, not compatible with Gingerbread ROMs. rename to Launcher2.apk and push to system/app and set permissions or copy to system/app and set permissions to rw-r--r-- or:
Code:
x x -
x - -
x - -
in the root explorer permission grid.
download
updated with middle screen as default.
CM9 Trebuchet Launcher2 with 3 screens (includes preferences with enable/disable auto-rotate. version 0.1, Dock and Icons in preferences no workie)
Nice. Does having 3 screens use less Random Access Memory?

no idea, guess in theory it would but I don't know if it does in the real world. I just only need 3 screens.

I just updated to the newest version back in Feb I think it was on a GB based rom, then made a titanium backup of the app, not the installer just the app. Flash any ROM you wan and then re-install via TB done it a dozen times and swype works perfectly every time, hope this helps!
I just downloaded from the site and it worked fine, no modding

OK, after you download it, just install with package installer then add it from settings. If you push it to system/app it seems to act up..at least it was for me. Enjoy!

I hadn't used Swype in a long time, since I bought swiftkey. This themed Swype is pretty slick - I'd love to see better predictive text implemented into it.

CM/AOKP Mms.apk?

Hey all,
Anyone get a CM/AOKP Mms.apk working on their Droid Ultra/Maxx? I've tried using one posted in the MotoX forum, but it FCs when trying to type a contact name. Any ideas?
Hey I was wondering the same thing but I can see a difference. What is diff between the two screenshots would be a great help.

Obviously..im retarded... because I can't get this damn thing to do what its supposed to do LOL.
I open the app.. i click the center and select 8sms and click 'Change'..then i select 'Default Icons' and select 'Messaging'.
the app then brings me back to the app selection screen.. and I do it all over again. I seem to be stuck in an endless loop. What am i doing wrong? LOL
I'll post instructions tomorrow when I wake up sir.

This is definitely a step in the right direction. But even with 8ms and changing the icon, we lose the unread count on the icon.
I've tried searching for some type of xposed framework mod to just darken the stock messaging app but alas.. Nothing.
Sent from my XT1080m using xda-developers app.
I was able to pull the mms.apk from an eclipse rom rom the Razr HD. its inverted..and has a lot of extra features. However..the app crashes if you remove or rename the stock messaging app. so what I did was leave the stock messaging app and turn off all notifications and simply hide it with Nova. Now i have the darkened inverted goodness i want with full functionality.
edit: nevermind. it works..but its receiving messages twice for some reason. Fail.
Can someone please post the stock email apk thanks!

I can... is it at all possible to invert the system apps and just do a simple drop and replace? like people, dialer, mms, calender, email
I wonder if this couldn't be implemented into GravityBox or some type of xposed framework?

I thought the same thing...but I haven't suggested it..espec because there are so many roms that GB supports
The problem is the stock system is odex like most stock systems are and themed apps do not usually play nice with odex system. Most of the times a dev will put out a deoxed rom or there is a way to deoxed the entire system, What is always interesting about Moto is they have specific odex version of apps like Motoemail, MotoMms and others that make simply dropping in themed apps problematic. I hope this answers your question. I am working on a theme for the Mini right now that takes out the green and replaces with blue LOL I hate that green!

Well we kind of sort of have a working Safestrap for the MotoX..which in turn works for the Ultra/Maxx/Mini.. would it be possible to deodex the stock system and black it out? I love the functionality of Stock with the features of GravityBox... Sooo battery life and stability of stock is what I want pretty much
