Best filemanagers? - Galaxy Tab 2 Themes and Apps

I've installed cm9 yesterday and I wanted to know what the best filemanager is
I want one with tablet ui and the only one I could find was file manager hd
Thanks in advance

Astro file manager has tablet interface and highly customizable in setting and even has themes I use it now no limitations multi select send via Bluetooth etc
Mohamed Selim

I'd like the default from samsung or the one from the infinity
Would that work on the p3110 on cm9?
And can someone send me the files?

I love Solid Explorer. I know it says beta 2 but it's rock solid. It has a 2 window interface in landscape mode. It's awesome.

Root explorer is the best straight forward file manager.
AntTek file explorer offers nice windows explorer like layout.
I use them both but swear by root explorer.

File Explorer has always been my go to app. I tried Astro awhile back and for me File Explorer was just better. Especially when it came to accessing files on all of my Windows PCs.

For root/system stuff: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer&hl=en
For general file editing/moving and so on: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...5ldC5hcHBvc2l0ZWRlc2lnbnMuZmlsZWV4cGxvcmVyIl0.
Those two are perfect because they fit right into the holo theme of 4.0+

i like "ES File Explorer" because i can view my Network-Drives over Wlan...

Using TotalCommander from alpha version, pretty happy with him. Just simple and fast file manager without a lot of unneeded features

Total Commander for Android. This is like the PC version. My all time favourite. I've the Astro which I don't really like.

Hi, how did you change Background of Root Explorer and these bigger fonts ?
I have 2.20 and cant change BG and fonts are too small
Edit:
I also noticed you use some very cool looking Themes
Mind sharing them ?

ES File Explorer ...options to make changes in UI, root capabilities, network browsing e.t.c ...really loving it !

I prefer the APP "Files by Zenfield", looks really good and has everything i need! I can't post links yet but you can find it easily on Google Play.

Pay 4$ for a root explorer? no way, I use Root Browser Lite and Astro File Manager and I am happy

[Q] Can't uninstall app after installing with CWM

I installed a MIUI Music app from my SD card using CWM, but after trying it out I'd like to remove it. When I go to remove it however, I don't get the option to uninstall. How can I remove it?

I've tried ES File Explorer and File Expert, both free alternatives to Root Explorer. I've given the apps root permissions but they aren't successfully deleting the file (as seen by errors shown in post 1).
I'm wondering if I have R/W permission, but I can't find anywhere to enable or disable that in either app I'm using.
[edit]
Using File Expert under Settings>Mount there is Mount as Read Write
This did the trick
glad you got it done

You've been very helpful the past few days, AzzleDazzle! Thank you!
I was on MIUI v3 last week and thought the ROM itself was OK, I switched to Darky 10.1 for now (maybe CM7 next)...but I really liked the MIUI Music app. I found a copy in the apps section on xda but it wasn't the same version as the one I was using on v3, was missing some features I liked (slide up/down now playing menu). I asked for someone from the MIUI Dev thread to get me a copy of the APK, but after pushing it to /system/app (see, I know how to do that now) and rebooting, it wasn't in my app menu, and when I select it in File Expert it says "Error parsing file package"
have you tried to extract the app and push the files to the right location ??
im not 100% on this i have been with CM - MIUI for ages now, so i forgot a lot about the samsung based ROMs,
anyway i have extracted the MIUI music app from my latest MIUI release, give it a try and see what happens with this version

I love the sliding now playing menu, the flip to album art/lyrics...great music app.
Thanks again AD!

[Download] Modified Gingerbred Keyboard

**NOTE**
_mod1 has the new .com additions, the first apk has only the smilies modified
The smilies popup and period popup on the gingerbred keyboard were really bothering me, so I decided to change them and upload it for everyone. The only thing I changed were the smilies, and the period popup nothing else. To access the smilies on the keyboard simply longpress the enter button.
When you longpress the period button on the keyboard, there will now be options for .com .net .edu .org .fr for easier typing urls to friends or in the browser. I found it really annoying that these were not custom configurable in the first place, but eh, lol. I also removed the comma button, which is totally redundant since it's on the left hand side of the spacebar. (go in keyboard settings>settings button> hide ; it doesn't hide it permanently, it just adds it as a popup above the comma button)
Uninstall your GB keyboard before installing this one. The file is signed, and should work if installed like any other sideloaded apk. I personally used Android Commander to install it.
Sorry for the blurry picture, but it's the best I can do since taking screenshots of keyboard popups is impossible XD

Really liked the idea of this, but couldn't get it working. Kept getting FC's. Used Root Explorer to move the .apk, fixed permissions, but still not working.
Did you replace the files or use root explorer to install the files? you're supposed to install the apk fresh instead of play with the xml files which is probably causing your force closes.

I deleted my old GB keyboard, then used Root Explorer to move the new keyboard to System/App fixed permissions, and rebooted. I will try again and see what happens.
Edit: I got it working now. Thanks button pushed!!! Nice work.
glad to hear you got it working =D just for next time, install it like any other sideloaded apk, they should be signed and ready to go
Will this work on my Samsung Galaxy Fit? I'm running GINGERBREAD.XWKQ2 / S5670XWKQ2
I downloaded a Gingerbread keyboard on the Market, I guess this one is the original one with some modifications than the one that I downloaded from the Market, I'm new to Android and I haven't root my Galaxy Fit. Can you guys help me out? sorry :/
this will work for any android device that can run sideloaded apps and the free gingerbred keyboard on the market; and yeah I did modify the Gingerbred keyboard from the android market as I couldn't find an apk of the ASOP keyboard. In settings go Applications > Applications from unknown sources > tap check box. If that option doesn't exist you'll need to root your phone or use ADB to install apps via root access.
Thank you so much for this! I love the MattedBlues keyboard.

[skin] resco keyboard pro 6 - photomanager pro 7 - pocket radio 3 - others

Here's all you need to skin resco keyboard pro 6.x ( and photomanager pro 7.x, pocket radio 3.x , maybe works for others resco apps).
The skin maker comes from here, so credits to author: Ветошкин В.В. aka en-trance (4pda.ru).
I found it was not clearly described and a little out of place in "software development" thread, so here's my little tutorial.
I attached here the keyboard skin files as example , but you can extract and manage the ..rpk skins from yor latest resco software.
INSTRUCTIONS1) extract from RescoSkinMaker_v20100616 the folder win32 or wince (depending on your OS) .
2) put the attached Default.rpk skin file into win32 folder and double click on unpack.bat
3) it will create a "skin.conf" file and a "skin" folder -containing an "Images" folder and a "Default" file.
Now you can manage the images inside the "Images" folder.
4) once you've done, go back to win32 folder and double click on pack.bat, this will create a "NewSkin.rpk" file, save it .
5) you have to do the same (step 1-2-3-4) with the attached Default.VGA.rpk skin, but rename it "Default.rpk" before to move it into win32 folder, at the end of the process remenber to rename the obtained "NewSkin.rpk" to "NewSkin.VGA.rpk"
6) move "NewSkin.rpk" and "NewSkin.VGA.rpk" to the skin folder or resco keyboard
Here's also the green android skin I made

Thnx!
Thank you for this jjollyroger, btw, have you found a way to change the color of the letters? I'm interesting in a Wp7 style look and i need the letters to be white. Anyway thnx again, here is an orange version!

hi, I'm not enough expertized to answer.. just know that the keyboard displays the system fonts.. so if you install a white font, you'll have it on keyboard too.
maybe you can do something with the skin.conf or the "Default" file, or there's a reg tweak for this, but let's wait for someone more "inside" that thing
i really like this keyboard.. accurate and fast.. wish to have a wp7 skin so that it will look good on sms-chat
Apparently, editing the Default.xaml file is not possible (in Keyboard pro 6 & Photo Manager Pro 7).

Thanks for this jjollyroger, very useful.
Any ideas as to how to change the blue highlight?

Nice, but I don't see the point of it.
I back my apps up with titanium and batch restore them after a flash.
If I used this method I wouldn't get all my apps back and would have to spend time choosing which apps I do want to install.
Even if you don't use titanium you can restore your data partition after a flash to get your apps (with data) back
Sent from my LT30p xda premium app.
How do I customise the signature on xda premium app?
