Hello!
I'd like to remove network lock from the phone with your cwm special feature.
Do I have to unlock bootloader or i just need to replace the original recovery with your cwm recovery? I don't want to put custom ROM or any other stuff on the device, all i want is removing the SIM network lock.
Thank you.

Keep up the good work bro

@ munjeni
So I used this tutorial here http://www.teamandroid.com/2012/08/04/root-htc-desire-c-install-clockworkmod-custom-recovery/2/ which is supposed to be beta 2, getting all files need from there while skipping unblocking and rooting parts I allready had done. All seems to work well BUT fo the essential, power button does not work so as to select recovery. Solutions?
Also found the beta 2 notice on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1785010&page=4 so I presume its cosher. Not?
EDIT - UPDATE
Then again, I flashed the recovery.img I found here over the recover beta 2.img I found there and it works. Is someone posting bogus apps using your name?

Is anyone else having problems doing backups of stock? My phone always reboots while backing up data
Sent from my HTC Desire C

I had the same issue when i was backing up while the phone was plugged in to a power source. But while the phone is not charging it works fine
Btw if you still face that problem you can always try online nandroid backup as mentioned in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1620255

Thanks I tried it without charger but its still reboots and I had a look at the online method but couldn't get it going lol. I'll just make a backup of the system for now i can always reinstall my apps.

Make sure your battery is over 80 before you do any backing up in CWM
I had the same issue then I charged it up since it was at 60 so I waited until it was at 100 before I made a backup before installing Nameless. Went fine.

I tried that but still won't work i think it must be a bug. The strange thing is it used to work until I had my motherboard replaced.

1499 downloads but only 15 "thanks" for my work on these recovery, wauu, great!

Too bad, noobs just download and leave w/o clicking thanks, pm me if you have new built one for testing, current recovery, have problems with backup and restore, stuck at boot screen during boot.
Thanks mate.
Maybe a TWRP would be great for desire c. I was attempting to build a recovery but no success, If only I could study this cyanogenmod stuff, but some guides are to difficult for me to understand.

Thanks very much , as I said earlier , sorry I missed clicking thanks previously .
With regard to errors ,I sometimes get MD5 checksum incorrect when trying to install a Backup .
I now am in the habbit of doing a Backup and when it is finished I try to restore it . If I get a checksum error I delete it and redo the Backup until it's successfull . (put this in , in case it's helpful to new people like me )

I stoped all works on desire c 3 months ago, I must to inform you I sold desire 3 months ago and have no plan to continue any work for desire, you need to make it by self! Sorry if you waiting new version!

[UPDATE] Official ClockworkMod

time has arrived, after supplying all the info, koush did a hell of a job with creating this
download rommanager from the market
and install the recovery for the Incredible S
WARNING DO NOT PARTITION SDCARD <- THIS WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE, A FIX IS ON THE WAY
all thanks go out to koush offcourse
i tested:
backup, whipe data, restore, reboot... all worked
bugs found:
sdcard > if you do parition this, you will end up jtaggin your device cuz its bricked! (the fix is on the way)
backup time > in the folder it shows a wrong time that it has been created atleast for me it does.. it shows a 3 hour difference idk how its set but its not a big deal in my opinion
Awesome!

ClockworkMod is a custom recovery that allows you to create android backups, flash update zip files and wipe system partitions. You need to be S-OFF to install a custom recovery because otherwise the partition you need to write to is locked.
If you have come from a different HTC Android phone, you may have used AmonRA recovery's, this is very similar except it comes with an app you can use whilst in Android to manage your recovery and backups much easier.
This is good news as we now have official support and all the features should be working, where as the two ports gloating about both had problems.
Hope that clears everything up

Does this mean we can now temp root and then install the recovery. Or is that the goal? Anyway, nice to see l0st.pr0phet from the hero scene. Just won this phone yesterday at an htc event so still orientating the possibilities
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA Premium App
Gotcha. I am familiar with recoveries having used both on my old Hero, I think I was just hoping against hope that this was an S-OFF exploit somehow. Also I am very hung over and not thinking clearly, which only made things worse.

people for all your questions. search on google what clockworkmod recovery is
all i did whas gather al the info that was needed to realise to get this up and running, koush builded it and its fully supported now in the rommanager...
yes you need root...
no this is not an exploit
Thank you, working here
Now we just need a working wwe flashable rom with 2.3
Edit: how do I select items? Can't do it with power, the volume keys move the selection and the not illuminated touch keys doesn't do the trick

I have the same problem with an S-OFF phone and temproot.
Can someone explain me what is wrong?
Try to go and clear data for the super-user application (Settings -> Apps -> Manage -> All apps -> Super-user -> Clear data)
Then reboot (just in case) and try to install Clockworkmod from Rom Manager again.
<warning, this is on your own risk>
anyone want to be so kind to test this on the INC2, it seems only the local partition wont be backed up, which shudnt be a problem tho
<warning, this is on your own risk>
p.s. yes offcourse u need s-off for this.......

Use SuperOneClick on your ROM:

That way you will permanently root, and you wont lose the settings after a reboot.

BootManager FAQ & Discussion

I figured we needed a thread to discuss the BootManager app.
First, big thumbs up to GFlam & Conap for this app! I used Conap's CELEB CM Roms on the Eris for a long time.
Now:
They have a User Manual on their site.
What does it do? You keep your rom on the phone, and you can add up to 4 more on your SD card. You use the app's menu to select which one you want to boot into next.
What is it? it is an apk you can get from the market. It lives on your phone. It doesn't mess with Clockwork and such.
What's the catch? There is something you have to pay attention to...It requires a connection to the market to verify it's authenticity. So, whenever you add a new rom, you need to connect it to the market...the trick: you need to flash gapps right after you flash a rom before you boot into it.
What If I forgot to flash gapps?!? No big deal. If you boot into a rom you installed that doesn't have the market, the BootManager app won't work, so you can't use it to boot back into another rom. They have a solution - boot into recovery and flash the "update.zip" located in the bootmanager>phonerom folder on your sd. Then your phone will reboot into your internal phone rom.
What's the catch, part 2? Some roms have custom scripts that run when they boot, so they don't play well, especially when installed on the SD card.
What else do I need to know? Rom installs take longer. After installing, the roms on the sd card do not lag. You can back up the roms that you install through the app.
This is a dream for people who want to play with nightlies or try a bunch of roms, but need their old-reliable come Monday morning. Check it out!
There is more discussion on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1189459
Disclaimer: I have no affliliation with Init 2 Win It. I just love this app.
I'll start with a question, too. I put BAMF3.0 rc 4.9 in an SD slot. When I boot in, everything works except Titanium Backup can't find root. Anyone else have this problem?

I haven't tried the MIUI yet. It might be another with a custom boot script.
You could try to install it as the internal phoneROM and see if it works. If it doesn't you'll need to restore a nand backup.

That's why I'm here.
disappointed that the synergy nightlies flashed to a slot put me in a boot loop. but was excited that all i had to do to fix it was flash the update.zip under bootmanager/phone
Maybe I'm missing something but where can I find the gapps zip/ every time I try to boot from the app, its telling me either no Rom installed or no image found
I installed all 3 versions of the recently leaked GB ROM using bootmanager and interesting NONE of them will boot up. Best I can tell from adb logcat is that the ROM does a memory test and the wrong memory type is returned causing a boot loop at that point.
Smells like a bit of copy protection testing going on.
Yea something's not working right with the app... I can't get any Rom to install.....

A lot of the Sense roms fail. I have Monolith running fine.
Hey there, just wondering of anyone else is having the problem of Sd card space going into limbo if the ROM install doesn't go well (i'm talking the install or back up glitches and doesn't finish, not it actually finishing and getting a boot loop. I've tried wiping cache/dalvik cache, all the cleaning functions within the app. Deleting the slots and wiping the slots didn't work either. Like I said it seems to be in limbo, and don't feel like moving all my data off my card and reformatting every time this occurs. Any ideas?
Hey guys,
I love this app. I also had some problems but now I have Gingeritis as my phoneRom and switch between SHIFTS3NS3 and BAMF which are all gb roms.
The trick I found was that if it doesn't load the first time keep trying, it took me about two tries to load SHIFTS3NS3 and about 3 for bamf. Make sure you use ext2.
Also make sure your phone stays awake.
If you have an issue email the Devs they responded to me with in 10 min of the email.
Great app

Yeah, people think, but that doesn't mean you must write that it doesn't do this or that, as you posted there, that was from another version of Touch Recovery, mention the version so people know this or that, many someone don't mind the mount-usb as there is a workaround, but when they see that cleand dalvik doesn't work or other things, they will surely panic )
For starters it is a good guide, just some polishing here and there

Hi, i'm using Sensation XL w a Cobra rom, i got this problem trying to install various apps from market. For instance, XDA, its keep saying "Can't install on USB Storage or SD card", but some other apps can be installed just fine. Storage count: Internal 4Gb, Phone Storage 8.89Gb - So i don't really know what's going on.
Also did try to fix it with this solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965039, but the XL doesn't have a removable SD card, so ... there's no "unmount"
So i heard about your fix, tried it, but it stays the same.
It would be really great if you can help me out.

Hi,
It's been about a year since I've messed about with my XL, I flashed it the day I got it as usual, but then a few months later the speaker broke. So I unrooted, re-locked etc, and after spending 10 months psyching myself up to be without my phone for a week, I eventually sent it off for repair. I've had it back a month or so, and got a bee in my bonet last night, and decided to go custom again. I decided to go for Evervolv, and went through the processes again (in a much easier fashion than it was in Nov 11 when I got my phone). Anyway, having made several mistakes, and attempted short-cuts, to eventually go back to doing it the way i did it last time (China ROM etc), I eventually got my phone booting again. It is all working nice (big thanks to the team behind the ROM - love it, and big thanks to Vertigo and Shinger5 for some of the guides), but I had no usable SD card. So more searching and came accross this thread, and got a little stumbled at point 6 of second method (XL Tool). So decided to d/l the JB fix, and side load it. This now gives me an SD card, but only 236kb. I have no idea what I've done wrong, and short of starting again to eliminate the lack of sleep having influence, I don't know what to do.
Any ideas anyone?

Update:
First I tried it without gapps. Everything booted fine, but there was no market nor would accounts/ sync let me add Google account.
So, I rebooted into recovery, which worked fine, and flashed gapps.
This time on boot, I actually got the Droid X welcome screen, was able to put in Google info, and market initiator ran and updated.
After that everything worked fine.
Tested Bluetooth, Messages, Gps and Calls. Didn't get chance to try Wifi yet, but I'm sure it works since everything-else does.
The only thing that Would be better is an updated Superuser. The 1 included will NOT update SU Binary. I think it's the old edify binary. Even by updating Superuser in the market WON'T help. Although an easy fix is to get RootUninstaller and uninstall Rom Superuser, then download new 1 from the market and install.
Keep up the hard work. Nice Rom.
Finally, does this works for any other gb kernel besides .621?
Anybody please tell us!
Nope, but maybe yes

on the devs to look at potential probs/fixes too.
Oh yea, I also got to looking into your system/app folder in your zip. The vending.apk is Not in there, which i would say is why I had to flash the gapps. Just wanted you to know.
Also there is no "boot.img" (which is kernel right?) in the new dwnload.

Downloading Now. I just hope it's for the rooted .621 Non-Milestone hack. The Milestone hack (for root) is .604.

Nice Rom.

wifi works just fine with it, and I agree bout the updated superuser since you cant uninstall the one you have with it which means you also cant update to the new superuser because they are different volumes but over all nice ROM.:good:

Nope, but I may have a bad download as I forgot to check the Md5 sum before I flashed. Install was aborted. I can't try again right now because I have another phone to flash and have to go to bed early tonight.

I had it working on mine but my .605 was the .621/.605 deodexed hacked version cause I was on the .621 before I did the work around on the magic 5 route, originally I did the .604 work around but it should work on the .605 stock rooted, but then again I was also running the kernel for the .621 sooooo if the kernel is the key for running it maybe you cant.
Try another download, maybe you did get a bad DL

I tried this again but, I think the real problem is with my microSD card. I have subsequently tried to flash other roms and have had other aborts as well. I know that the md5's on those checked out. I was able to flash a cm9 based rom and got it set up just fine. All this from the same card on the same phone. Sooo I am attempting to format the card just in case I have bad sectors or something.
Luckily my DX is no longer activated and just keeps me from killing my SGS3 with flashes.:silly:

I hear ya, I had the same prob with sd card so i formatted mine as well, problem was still there though. whenever i tried to install a rom from sd card via rom manager the problem was i kept getting the message saying waiting for sd cart to mount then it would say error bla bla bla sending log file to cwm ect ect ect.... i dont know exactally how i fixed that, all i know is i installed another rom, like cm7 or cm9 for instance and after that whenever i went to back up rom it worked fine ever since.... maybe something flashes over correcting the sd card problem when you install a rom... I know rom manager checks to verify the marker on sd card and thats what your problem is I believe.
Try doing this, try installing a rom cm7/cm9 without making a backup (i know you could lose everything if it fails but its the only way i know that fixed mine) after you have installed cm7/9 go to rom manager and hit the Backup Current Rom it should reboot you to cwm recovery and make an auto backup, if it does this without throwing up the waiting for sd card to mount error stuff and it runs the backup program and then reboots you it should fix your sd card problems.....
Review this rom
this is by far a ROM with the least lag by far i tried liquid ICS and plenty others don't know what it is but the lag is really minimal runs really smooth i only have this for like 3 hours but will update soon
pls hit thanks if i helped

Incremental Updates for dummies(like me) lol

Well I effed up last night and gave myself a heart attack. I was using 1.0.2 for about a day, saw there was an incremental update via Goo Manager for 1.0.3 and downloaded that. Right after that rebooted straight to TWRP recovery and wiped Cache and Dalvik Cache and I'm sure this is where I effed up because, I was under the impression I could just do that and flash the incremental update over the 1.0.2 Rom ....nope and it warned me No OS installed( granted I know that's just TWRP detected no full Rom flashed in that sequence), but I continued to reboot to system and then stuck st the logo. So like a dumb you know what I thought oh, factory wipe clears every thing I'll do that. Yeah.. it clears EVERYTHING_! Including my nandroid of sprint stock Rom rooted I had saved. So lol, I was stuck with no Rom, no mounting action coming from my SDCard on my laptop and no usb flash to use. So then I decided il download the entire 1.0.3 Rom (thanks ViperBoy!,) and I'll use the ADB sideload function to straight flash it over whatever the hell id just done to eff up my new HTC One , and cross my fingers for the best... Thank god my idea worked and I hope none of u make the same mistake I did with incremental updates. Still not 100% sure what I did wrong but I learned two things, if you're not sure Don't Do It and 2 you can sideload Custom Roms back on the HTC One if you cannot get your PC to recognize / mount your internal storage. Hope this helps someone else lol!! Otherwise, love the Update!!
