wather - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hy!
My i9000 got wet and now it starts again and again after ca. 2-3s. I can get in the Downloading... Modus and in the Recovery Modus but also there it restarts again and again. Has someone an idea what i can do to repair it?

Let it dry properly might help. It sounds like theres water in the power button or some other short some where.

Bootloop, no downloadm., no recovery, no USB...

Hey, got some probs with my I9000...
Tried to restore to stock, while my cat jumps on the table... The Connection was lost, now the phone stucks on bootlogo. I cant get into downloadmode or recovery, just in upload.
Tried severel hints like vol+/- and put the akku back, vol- and home, JIG, etc.
But it seems that USB isnt working also.
When I connect to charger, it doesent charge.
It wont even turn on while connected USB.
Somebody had the same probs and can help?
I need my phone fast back working.
Thx for every tip.
have you tried to remove battery for 2 minutes?
Yeah, put it out of the phone for 5 min and something around 3 hours...
It's a real tricky brick... The only words I've got in my mind are "god damn"...
But thx already.
mmm... maybe you have corrupted bootloader... bring that to Samsung Service... it's only thing you can do now
you could try and get a device from ebay for £1.50 that will force it into download mode. "download jig"

Greetings Geniac
That's the prob, I can't get in downloadmode and USB doesnt work either...
I have the same problem but worse
I have a similar problem with my Galaxy S. I was using Odin to unroot the system and put back on gingerbread. I was in download mode and it failed to downgrade so i turned the phone off by holding the power button for about 10 seconds.
Now my phone wont even get a bootloop. It wont respond to the charger or the usb. I've tried all the 3 button fixes. Even done a few things with odin and holding the 2 volume keys down whilst plugging in the usb but nothing has worked. It's not even trying to turn on. It's as if the battery isn't connected anymore even though it was full when it crashed.
It's really pissing me off now cause i need my phone for business.
Kill the damn cat :banghead:

Try to take out the battery for 2-3 minutes. than while the battery is out press the 3 buttons combination for download mode (Volume down, Home and Power), ask someone to insert the battery while you holding the 3 buttons and wait (while holding the buttons of course). It can take something like 5 minutes. It work for some I hope it will work for you to.
And yes Kill the damn cat
Hey guys
Youve got to try Unbrickable mod and heimdall one click, it's the only possible solution if you don't want to JTAG
my case is weird too ...my i9000 get stuck at boot logo , no recovery mode but I can get into download mode yet I have tried three laptops with xp and one with windows 7 all of them give unknown device error and not able to detect the phone hence can't use odin to flash ...tried all kind of drivers found online , same unknown device error...any ideas if this might work or any advice from anyone before I get home to try tonight ?

Phone keeps restarting. Having major issues!

Hey Guys,
A few days ago my home button stopped working so to exit out of apps I had to press back heaps of times to get home and it was all good.. This morning I pressed the side power button when i had some water on my fingers and I think that killed the phone
Now all it does is load the Galaxy S splash screen, then 5 seconds later it will turn off and then splash screen again.
When I take out the battery and put it back in, the splash screen loads again as if im holding the power button when I'm not.
When I hold the volume down button while putting the battery in, download mode comes up but only for 5 seconds.. Then it turns off and in a few secs download mode comes back on for 5 secs etc..
Anyone know how I can fix this?
Had my SGS for 1 and a half years and only now its giving me all these problems!
Thanks.
You can try putting it into a can full of rice (literally, the phone must be surrounded by rice), just in case it is a humidity problem...
Didnt ask for a smart ass answer.
Didn't try to answer like one, go and help yourself. Bye!

Sorry I didnt realize you were actually being serious until one of my friends recommended the same thing today!
You see, sometimes it's better to ask politely if someone is being serious or just joking...
Anyway, back to your problem, did you manage to solve it?

[Q] Galaxy s 1 in bootloop

Hi, my GT-i9000 got left in a little puddle of water overnight, now it is just stuck in a bootloop as soon as i put the battery in, when i try to get to download mode to flash a rom with odin it just restarts again after about 3 seconds of being in download mode, it does not let me get into recovery mode at all, is there anything anyone know's i could possibly do?
Thanks, Max.
please

Try to disassemble it the most, and then the pieces into a jar full of dry rice for several days.
With luck, the rice will extract the humidity from the electronics and maybe you will have luck.
It's more than nothing...
bump anyone got any other ideas?

Your first mistake was to attempt to use it immediately after getting it wet. Even if you had tried it off with a cloth, there may still be moisture inside the phone that can cause as short circuit and damage the electronics permanently. There's nothing we can do about that now, but for future reference do not attempt to power up a phone after getting it wet. You should let it sit in a bowl of (uncooked) rice for a few days before turning it on.
Download is the last option for fixing the phone. Since you can enter it, USB jigs won't help you at this point. Frankly, there's nothing you can do at this point but let the phone dry out for longer and hoping that it will fix itself. If that doesn't work, your only choice is to send it back for repairing.

Are the water indicators still white? If so consider sending it to repair.
When did all this happen? It might help letting it run out of juice...

It should be better if you turn off your phone for a period of time to avoid malfunctioning. You can use a hair blower to get rid of water that might be present inside your phone. After that, take a deep breath as you turn on your beloved device. :good:

HTC One Stuck in Boot Loop

So, the other night I dropped by HTC One in the sink filled with water and it had an Otter Box on it, so I rushed to get it into rice, and I turned it off and everything, but when I tried to restart it, it would work for a little bit, then start doing a boot loop, as it has done boot loop for about 4 hours now.
Any answers on how I can fix it maybe?

And everytime I try to do the bootloader, it doesn't do anything, except continue the boot loop.

I had it set there for 3 days, then I decided today to take it out and see if it would do anything, but it just continues to boot loop. As it's still doing the boot loop.

Well, i tried to get it again, but when I go to reboot it, it'll allow me to get to the Fastboot>Reboot menu thing, but once I go to hit Reboot, it just turns off. And now when I try to hold the power button+volume down button shining a bright light on it, it doesn't turn off. Phones prob ****ed.
