Best Extended Battery For LTE? - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

I am looking for a replacement for the stock battery. Since we got LTE in our area my battery is having a hard time keeping up. I used to be able to go from awake to bed on a charge but now by evening I have to be on the charger.
I've seen a few posts here about specific extended batteries but wanted to ask people that had any experience with any to reply.
My criteria is needs to work, needs to not ruin the form factor of the phone, and needs to be in the $30-40 range.
I also want a pony.
Thanks!

I hear ya on LTE draining the battery. Me personally I couldn't find an extended battery I like, and if you get one good look with cases that fit. So I got an Anker Slim Talk power bank, basically a slim external battery with a retractable mini usb plug that fits our phone. basically what you get a is a charger that will fit in your pocket, and its 3200mah, just a tad shy of twice as much juice as the stock HTC battery. I typically will plug it in when I know I'm doing something battery intensive, or when I'm working and can't use my phone much anyway. Only drawback of it, is the built in flash light on it, which is pretty easy to trigger and get your pocket glowing lol. I'd like it better without the flashlight but otherwise its the best solution to this phone, since HTC put way too small of a stock battery and didn't make a native extended battery kit for it. here's a link
http://www.amazon.com/Anker-®SlimTa...id=1345317570&sr=8-2&keywords=anker+slim+talk
I was going to also reccomend the anker external charger with 2 1550 mah batteries but it looks like its no longer available for our phones I use that too for times I just want an instant refill and don't feel like waiting on the external to charge up the phone.

I reccommend the acesoft 3850 its amazing

Bigger batteries.. is it really worth it?

I've really wanted to get a bigger battery, not necessarily a bigger phone. I was looking up videos on youtube, and I found a guy who actually bought one of those verizon silicon cases and used that instead of having a new backing for his phone because the battery was so much bigger. Do you guys really find not having to charge your phone for 20-30 hours worth the extra cover and stuff? I'm sure it's not an option for everyone, but why bother with that if you can just charge it sometime in between? Car chargers are cheap, and there should be some time of sleep between 20-30 hours of you using your phone (you know, where you could be charging it). Also, what is the biggest battery you can get without requiring an extra case?
The 2150 mah battery is perfect for me. The new back protects the camera lense and the leds. I have also noticed that I can hold the phone by the extended back and it feels more comfortable then before. It doesn't add that much weight and the phone is still pretty slim. Obviously I also get improved battery life as well.
I have been using the 1750 battery and it improved my battery life from 6-8 hours to 9-12ish, which is perfect for me. I just needed to make it through the work day and the regular size works for me.
I couldn't go to a bigger battery, since I have a case that works for me and I don't want to change.

My 2 cents... I have the 2150. I still go through it once or sometimes twice a day. I dont like the way it feels in my front pocket and the fact there isn't much at all if any accessories that will fit it. I just ordered (4) 1500mah batteries and 2 charges off of eBay for a whopping $20. shipped. I can use the 2150 when I am out and not near a charger or just sell it and carry extra 1500's if needed.

At that price, it sounds like you bought some off-brand garbage. While I hope that's not the case, could you please confirm/deny? What brand are these batteries?
I need the extra battery...was out today using the stock one and was dead after 5 hours (3 hours I was using My Tracks on my run). I don't care about accessories, I just need it to not run out of charge.
I find the extra ummph in the 2150 battery to be worth the lil bulge in the back....modded a silicon case with a cutout to let the excess...works pretty well and couldnt be happier...the only downfall i found so far is the charge time is nearly 4 hrs from a completely dead battery...never really timed it but it takes a while, but worth it.

what 1750 Battery do you have?
all the reviews I read say the stock '1500' replacement for the HD2 is the same if not better/cheaper?
Looking to possibly trade to the incredible and saw the 3500 battery. Anyone have one and know how long it'll last with medium to heavy usage?

I'm not sure which one he's using, but I'm using the Seido 1750. My battery life is...decent, I guess. If I bump charge. After reading so many threads on battery life for Android phones and, specifically, HTC Android phones, I'm left wondering a few things:
1. Since HTC seems to have issues charging batteries fully...if we're wiping Battery Stats appropriately (assuming you are rooted), does the phone actually "register" that it's got such a large battery to charge? Or is the phone so stupid that it stops charging it at a 1500's capacity?
2. When apps sync their data, is Android OS smart enough to have them sync at the same time? Or, does my 30 minute Facebook sync occur 10 minutes after my 30 minute Twitter sync, etc.?
New to the forums guys, it was a round-about way I got my Incredible, extended battery, and seidio battery but here is my opinion on this. If you're not gonna use it heavily throughout the day then you can get away with the 1500/1750 batteries. But if you think you're gonna get some solid use out of the phone for a day, you don't want to have to charge it throughout the day, or you don't want to have to rush home and charge it before you go out then you should get an extended battery. Using both over the past week to see which one I want to stick with, the extended is just more convienient since I don't have to think about how much battery i'm at and remember to put it on a charger.
There is a guy on here who modified his case to accommodate the 2150 battery and after seeing that I think that's what i'm gonna do. If you can get the extended cheap then definitely go for it, its just more freedom in my opinion.
Why do you want to go to an Incredible? I thought the X was a better device. Just too big? I have yet to see an Evo or X so I have know idea how big these things are.

did you get lost? your in the Incredible section of the forum, so there will bee a predominant amount of Dinc users here.
And I'd rather have an Incredible over that piece of Moto anyday
I recently bought a 2700mAh extended battery. I don't mind the extra thickness, it allows me to get a better grip on it. As for battery life its great. With the stock battery I could barely make it through 8hours at work. With the new battery I have made it 10hours and counting. I have had GPS, Sync, WiFi, and max screen brightness on all day and only at 73%. Made a few phone calls, and a few Twitter updates. Was worth it.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
No I didn't get lost. I was just curious what he did not like about the X. I would rather have an X but HTC phones are much easier to hack. A Dinc hacked on to Sprint Sero is hard to say no too. I would have done an Evo but used prices on an EVO are still ridiculous and I'm waiting for HTC sort out it's display issues.
Back to the topic at hand. I'm liking my Seidio 1750. With some tweaks I'm getting better battery life then my 3GS got. I make it through a whole day of moderate usage (some web, some streaming and 5-10 calls) and still have 20% at bed time. So I'm quite happy. Someone did point out a thread on Android Central. I won't return the battery but it did dampen my spirits a little.
http://androidforums.com/accessories-incredible/119578-battery-testing-results.html
I have had the 3500, for a week. Lasts 2x the 1750 (have one) and the door design is more rugged and protects the lens well.
Worthy purchase.
I had the HTC 2150mah and returned it. I just couldn't live with the bulk.
I bought both 1750 and 2150 from HTC Pedia. They are both HTC BRAND batteries. They both work well and add work time to my INCREDIBLE. Don't buy anything but brand and you will be happy! I found HTC PEDIA to be the best place to buy accessories for my phone!

Anybody gonna buy an extended battery?

I was just wondering if anyone is gonna buy an extended battery?
I just ordered me one off of Android Central. I ordered the 1750mAh battery that's originally for the original Evo. But it fits the Shift also.
My buddy has it in his Evo Shift and he gets well over 14 hours on one charge. He took his phone off the charger at 8 this morning and when we got off work an hour ago his battery was at 59%...and yes he's been making calls, sending lots of texts and going on the web as well as streaming music on pandora.

I am not calling you a liar. I am saying that 250 more milliamps will not make a huge difference. Maybe might get another hour to hour and a half I would speculate. I have no proof to back my thought either. This is just my opinion.
Check out the testing done on Battery Boss.
http://batteryboss.org/
That Seidio battery doesn't rate all that well.
TP2 Seidio, 1750mAh rated: 1383mAh
EVO 4G stock OEM, 1500mAh rated: 1443mAh
Might want to check and see if that battery for the EVO works on the Shift. I tried a battery out of a friends EVO and it doesn't work. Hero battery does though.
um, works just fine. Same part number and everything.
HOWEVER, your battery wont fit his evo unless you snip the plastic block as they put some odd notching on the new battery.
I've been using my evo batteries since day 1.

I understand what you're saying. But all I know is that his battery was at 59% when we got off work. Maybe it lasted longer because the Shift is a smaller phone than theEvo and therefore it doesn't use as much power like the Evo. Thus resulting in the fact that the battery doesn't drain as fast.
Idk....but i definitely ordered one. Once I get it, I'll report my finding.
The original evo friggin inhaled batteries because of the screen.

You have to install the evo battery upside down in the shift correct? My concern is the pin layout. May have to give it another look.

No, whatever gave you that idea? Same pins, same layout, same everything. Not sure why you'd call it "upside down". Guess it depends on which side of the "label" you'd call the upside.
RHOD100. Same part numbers. Guess if you care where the "words" are when you install the battery, so be it, but otherwise the battery is just fine.
for everyone coming from the Hero, and those that still have it. It's battery can be used as an extra. I just tried mine, just flip the battery upside down and works just fine.
Folks, to clarify my earlier statement, the pinouts are exactly the same, do NOT worry about which side of the label is the "top" or "bottom". The writing on the battery label means nothing.
If the labeling really really matters to you, get a sticker and write on it "This side OUT on the EVO SHIFT"
Word of warning tho, the Shift battery may NOT work in the evo or TP2 or Hero or any other phone that uses RHOD160 class batteries because they are changing the plastic notches at the end.

I dont find a need to use an extended battery. If you know how to set your phone up properly and buy a few replacement china made batteries you should never have a problem. I'm at nearly 40 hours and still have 25% left on my battery. I posted what I did in another thread under general on how and what I do to get this kind of battery life. This phone is amazing on power usage if you just set it up right and know how to use it. I get more life out of this phone than my Optimus S and i thought that phone was killer. I always have a fully charged battery in my wallet for when I ever run out and need a full charge.
I was already getting about 12 hours on the original evo shift battery. I got my Extended battery early this morning, charged it all the way up. I know its too early to really see a difference but I took my phone off the charger at about 1030 this morning and I'm just at 94 percent battery life..if that means anything

Fifedogg, do me a really big favor and do NOT ever put a Lithium class battery in your wallet or any other place that it could ever flex.
We really don't need a catastrophic accident in the news about the battery cracking, getting exposed to oxygen/moisture and spontaneously combusting and, um, toasting up your backside.
LiON/LiPoly/LiPO class batteries can burn at excess of 1000F, your skin is no match for that temp.

Revolution impervious to battery calibration?

I have been running de-crappified 1.1 and thus far have not been able to combat the inital 2% battery drain as soon as I power on the device. I had luck with the VZW Fascinate I had before this and the Charge I was using also, but this beast seems unable to properly calibrate. Anyone else having a battery issue with this phone?
Sent from my VS910 4G using Tapatalk
Think it has been a common issue. Seems to be somewhat handled with juice defender. I have finally resorted to an extended battery. One thing I have noticed is that if your going to own a PDA device you don't buy it for battery life. I will say the revolution is on par with my iPhone 4 battery life and my usage is quiet a lot.
Sent from my VS910 4G using Tapatalk
Well the battery life isn't horrible, but it could be a little better. Gonna get the extended battery when I get paid and not have to worry about it.
Sent from my VS910 4G using Tapatalk
in all due respect to the humps you guys gonna put on the back of your phone plus the lack of compatible cases i opted out for the charging dock for the revolution it comes with another standard battery and it charges both on the same charger or you can use the dock to just charge the spare battery for only 50 bucks...just imo that the hunchback wont make the phone feel slim anymore and holsters and cases will be limited
I found a general lack of accesories anywhere other then Verizon. I was gonna have to order it online but I may go for the dock and extra battery route.
Sent from my VS910 4G using Tapatalk
the holster verizon sells for most of their phones is a plus cuz its a holster and a case ++ for i think 20 dollars
edit:and if u feel that 2 standard battery is not good enough the dock charges the extended battery too wether its in ur phone or just charging the battery itself
It's not that it's not good enough, I wouldn't mind having a car dock and just charging as the day goes or when I am on lunch or something but I am wondering if two batteries would yeild the same life span as an extended. I haven't found any reviews on YouTube yet for a bunch of accessories.
I think I might just spend the money on the dock and battery, it would seem to be more useful in the car if I could use the navigation and such hands free.
Thanks for the info.
I bought my genuine extended life battery off eBay for 36 bucks free shipping. I didn't wanna go with the dock being as if I wanna use my phone I have to keep taking the phone in and out of the dock, or pick up the phone while in the dock. As far as protection goes I for a zagg full body so it covers the entire phone. The extended battery will be the right choice coming in at almost 3000 miah that's twice the capacity of the standard battery and I want to be able to stay mobile and not have to be tied to a dock or a battery that is charging. I don't see that benefit either of having to pop a case off swap batteries and pop everything back in place, this sounds like to much of a hassle. But to each there own.

The whole point of the spare battery is because of the limited cases you may put on your phone and if the extended battery is 3000miah the two standard battery is equivalent to the two standard battery and while charging if you need to use the phone use the wire way

Extended batt pluses
Folks;
My ext batt goes 12 hrs and fits in the dock and the VZN car mount perfectly.
I like the bump in the rear it gives the phone a solid grip. I will wait for third party case to fit it. I didn't want to have to pop off and replace rear cover each day to swap batts.
I my self have the dock with spare battery and the extended battery. Depending on what I'm doing during the day drives by battery choice. I'm out if town at a competition at Notre Dame and my batteries drain much faster in the arena and there is limited availability to power outlets. I run my extended till its dead then move to the regular ones. Not perfect but I'm but gonna suffer from a dead phone.

Def agree its preference. Just as stated given the limited availabilty of cases it seems like the easy choice is just to go with the extended battery. Like you said though it is personal preference. It is also good to know the phone fits in the dock with the extended battery.

The day there is at least 3000mAH available, i will be getting it. Until then i dont see the point of getting a battery with a little bit more.

The point is that you get the most battery while still being able to use the stock battery cover and normal cases for the device.
Just ordered from amazon:
Gtmax 2 X Standard Battery 1650mah + Standard Battery Charger for HTC At&t Vivid ( Package Include a Wrist Strap )
Anyone ever heard it tried before? I'm thinking for the price I'm not gonna expect much. But hey, a battery wall charger, lol.
Edit: looks like batteries, charge em and test em. Can't upload pic

There's a $12.99 extended battery (3500mAh) on new egg. I just ordered it. I'll update once i receive it and try it out for a while.
I ordered a 3600mah battery from ebay, I'll let you folks know how it goes, comes with the hump cover as well.

Extended batteries

I was going through amazon and was checking out this battery, does anyone own it? I'm kinda hesitated with no reviews or feedback but it looks amazing

I'm Testing Them Now
I got two 1800 mAh batteries and a wall charger from Amazon. I have deep cycled one of the batteries so far, but I need to run some more cycles. Also, I need to put the original battery back in and time it to see how much more, if any, I am getting from the replacement batteries. I will try to report back in a few days with better data.
As for the charger, it can charge the battery directly, outside of the phone. And it has a USB port for charging the battery in the phone. So if you swap out a dead battery, it can be charging while you are using the spare battery in the phone. The charger is small and can easily be carried in a bag or briefcase.
Awesome. For 17 bucks I'll try it out.
I got the SaFPWR Fusion 2 case with the 1800 MhA battery. It works great, I run off of the case's battery all day, and sometimes it runs out and switches to my phone's battery around 10 at nite. Lasts me all day, even using Pandora, internet, e-mail, textes, etc.
Pretty pricey, but it's a case and extra battery, so I just looked at it like if I got and paid for both.
Plus, it has a year warranty, so I can just go in and get a new one before the year is up.
Case makes the phone a bit heavey, but I don't mind, feels like it gives it a more solid feel.
I've ordered the two 1800 mah batteries plus this so i should be set for the life of the phone which is till the edge comes out, this stock battery is pathetic, the amaze has a 1820 mah and its not even lte

I would go with one of these 1700mAh or 3400mAh from Mugen.
1800 mAh batteries not any better, for me anyway

After running one of the 1800 mAh batteries through 4 full discharge/cycles, I got 20-40 hours per cycle. (Note, my usage pattern is probably less than most folks.) However, after running the 1650 mAh battery that came with the phone through 5 full sycles, I got about 48 hours each time, except for one where I got 24 hours with much heavier (for me) use.
So, I think I can say that the 1800 mAh batteries don't really provide significantly more power. They are the same size as the 1650 mAh battery.
The main benefit is simply having a spare battery in an emergency. Also, the charger can charge the battery while out of the phone.
PS: At night, I will put the phone in Airplane mode. It uses little power while I am sleeping, extending the battery time.

Requires too many permissions. What's with "access to power" all about anyway. Besides that I looked closer and see that it does not include either a screw driver or adhesive. Are they insane?

This item does not include screwdriver or adhesive. If you want the screwdriver, you need to buy this item:url-link
Joking aside I sweated buying a cheap 3400 battery for my EVO and it was the smartest thing I've done. Worked(s) great. I will give my new Vivid a month to break in but likely buy this one and risk the $16
I don't get why you would need a screw driver I put the battery in today and the cover slid on just like the regular cover does

Thanks, I'm anxious to see how thick it makes the phone. Obviously increasing battery life though by the look of your screenshot.

I found a flaw!!! The clips where it goes into the back are very thin so you have to be careful when removing , otherwise great battery

I signed up because of this thread. Its great to find others that have tried this. I have posted some of this on other sites..
I bought the 3600mAh from ebay for about 13 bucks. Popped it in and it was at 75%. I used Battery dr. app to see what usage time are compared to stock. Even at 75% it should have been more then what the stock batt had.... but it didnt.
Anyway, I thought it was a cheap chinese battery and just left it in the phone and charged it over night. I thought it was a wash and didnt thinking about it till later that day.. After it was charged the wife used it a little and hours passed. When I picked up the phone it was still showing 100% so I re-charged it just in case and ran it through a test.
Turned wifi on
Bluetooh on
sound at max
ran a long netflix move 2H:30min+
then did it again
and again.. haha
Anyway I didnt finish the 3rd time around, but it looks like I can get with all that **** on about 7 1/2 hours of netflex. Hell without wifi and bluetooth that might be over 8-9 hours..
I have not tested the stock one, but I dont think it will last that long. Which leaves me to think for some reason the Battery dr. app or something is not really forecasting the right amount of talk/video time. Also I ran Nav for over an hour the phone was warm and Battery Dr. showed the same temp all the time. maybe there is another app to try.. or maybe there is something in the battery that gives the phone info..
Well I'm still averaging around 27 hours so for $15 I think this is the best battery I've owned

I just dont know why any of the aops doesnt show the difference..
I just tried "one touch battery saver" and that shows the same talk time, surfing time as the stock battery..
You might need to reset stats from fully charged ?
