[Q] google now??? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note

Has anyone running the t-mobile rom on the i717 or the t879 had any success installing the JB google now on top of the t-mo rom?
I had it running on my i717 with flapps rom. With all my playing with modems and the tmo rom, I tried to flash it and get the JB google now function- the one that talks to you like siri does on the iphone. I was like " I thought this thing talked to you!"
So I went back to flapps ics, reflashed the google now and it's now talking.
So why won't it work on the tmobile rom?

i used "mickey 6 offline" flashed in cwm working great

thanks for the response.
That's the file I have working fine on att ics roms. It would flash on the tmobile rom, but not work. It was the same search function as the tmobile rom.
Oh well. I flashed back to att rom and the blaze radio for now and it was working fine.
I'm on a JB rom now so no need to flash the hack.

Have you tried the Black Star ROM? You can install Google Now from the Aroma Installer, works like a charm.

Strange..I'm using it on Tmobile stock ROM I also have the Att note its working just fine.

Huh....Wonder why ? Couldn't get mine to talk to me for nothing!!!! I flashed back to a custom rom when I looked into the tethering function being monitored and interrupted by t-mo. Something about being able to tell by the user agent..... Didn't want them to take $$ from my acct. I'm paranoid from past experiences with att. Love the custom rom better than stock tmo anyway, so I'm good. It's JB!!!

[Q] About CM7.2-RC1 by mebitek

Hi guys!
I have some questions about mebitek's CM 7.2-RC1 build.
-Is the Task Manager application really not included in this ROM?
-Are you guys also having some issues wherein some sound distortion will occur while playing music through a headset using the stock music player application?
-I noticed that whenever I reboot my phone, my OpenVPN Settings application will always force close and the only way to fix it is by restoring its Data through Titanium Backup. Are you guys also experiencing this?
Those issues are really at a minimal level and so far, Im liking this CM 7.2 build (I've been using this for a week now.)
I hope someone can answer my questions.
Thanks in advance!

you can push stock manager in system/app , how to do that there's an existing thread about that. or use advance task manager, it has a feature that can automate the clearing of ram when everytime your screens turna off.
- i think most of all of cm7 has that distorting sound. i also use this rom, im using player pro without the dsp pack feature of this music player. tip, lower the bass or dont touch it from the equilizer. and disable the bass boost in the rom's dsp setting.
- i dont have any force closes encountered since i use this rom.

thanks for answering my post sir i dont really need an automated task killer, i only need something i could use whenever an app starts becoming unresponsive. ill try your suggestion of pushing the stock task manager for sure
i just reflashed another cm7 rom (kittenlinux's odex cm7 revision of mebitek's rom) and i didnt encounter fc in openvpn. im gonna try this rom since i think this is an optimized version of the original rom. the only thing that i cant seem to find is the option to kill app using long press of the back button.
p.s.: i think most people here doesnt understand our reason for using openvpn on our phone since they are from a different country.

i haven't tried using soft buttons yet but regarding your question about adrenaline engine's compatibility with this rom, it is compatible. just make sure you use the CM version of the script
adrenaline made my phone become more snappier. just be sure to mount data and system before flashing or else it wouldnt work.
on mine, i don't flash any tweaks in this rom. i'm satisfied to the speed of this this rom, even overclocked in 604Mhz. i also removed soft botton that i flashed. sorry for my bad english.

Thanks @ xxxraymond... doing a trial and error approach makes it perfect... hoping it won't hard brick my phone on frequent flashing... is there any incidence (hard brick) happened on frequent flashing?

me as well... i just set it on 710MHz... and it's running smooth and fast... i was just thinking by using those tweaks it will improve the performance to the next step... is there anything wrong with the soft buttons?

i tried a lot of ROMs with different developer... but i always end up to this ROM... Thanks to "Mebitek"... it's just that when i tried to use the SIM Toolkit it won't give me anything...when tried to check my load balance it's always shows "Please try again"... did i miss something on this ROM?...
there's nothing wrong with soft buttpn, for me i dont want to change anything in a custom rom. i want it on what it has. i dont have any issue on my sim toolkit, it' s working perfectly.

so far i haven't experienced any problems with flashing yet though i've already flashed multiple roms in the past on this phone.
just a tip, if you are going to flash a stock rom via odin, be sure to use the one without a bootloader included (you can find it on the development section). its safe since it will not mess around your phone's boot partition (which causes hard bricks)
and if you are going to flash a rom via CWM Recovery, be sure to flash while your battery is still strong. make sure that you are not going to run out of battery in the middle of flashing or else, it may cause trouble
Thanks for the advise @ xxxraymond... i did try to flash a stock Rom from this location "yagyagaire.blogspot.com/2012/01/official-samsung-firmwares" and it seems to have no problem flashing it. can you tell me what the "bootloader" means? and why it should not be included in the Stock Rom? another thing... is there any Stock Rom Gingerbread 2.3.6 for "S5570DXKPD" baseband? i tried to use "JVKT1" working fine for me.. but it's not for Asian Rom...

im simple terms, the bootloader is the part of your phone which has the files/codes needed to startup you phone during boot. so if your phone's boot loader gets corrupted, it will result to what most people call a hard brick.
you can find the stock roms which has the bootloaders removed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551586
fyi: those stock roms can only be flashed via odin and is only applicable when going back to stock rom or when flashing a custom rom which requires you to have a clean/fresh stock rom first
i hope this helps
Thanks for the info @ xxxraymond... can i use this ROM even if my baseband is already in S5570DXKPD?...

it should work as long as you are in gingerbread. although some devs recommend that you use 2.3.6 as base.
be sure to read the devs instructions before flashing and always create a nandroid backup using cwm recovery before doing it. trust me it can save you from a soft brick just in case something goes wrong
@ xxxraymond... may i ask if you also experienced unstable wifi connection on this ROM? upon browsing, (mostly on Facebook Apps) it shows connection disabled even though there is at 1 to 2 bars wifi signal on it... before on stock rom i never experienced it, unless no signal detected. i was just thingking... is there any configuration setup to make this things get well?

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH Finally!!!!!!!!!!
Soon our devices will BE PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im quit jelous .. did u try it? come on share it? what changes on it?
Yeah!
I predict a frenzy today /this week on the forum
Hope it fixes battery trouble from the ported versions.
Funnily enough im running one of the 7500 ports and got just over 6 days of up time, with my normal moderately light use.
Does that mean you have not charged it yet, since the ported ICS was put on? My battery problems started only after 1st or 2nd recharge
Its been charged since and the projected life for this cycle is over 5 days currently.
An update is also available via Kies this morning as well for the 8.9. Updating now.
---------- Post added at 06:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:08 AM ----------
I performed the Kies update and the 8.9 is now on 4.0.4!
However, like my other Samsung tablet that was updated to ICS, the Touchwiz homescreens resets itself. So, if your using Touchwiz as the default homescreen, all your widgets and icons are gone and you'll have to set them back up again.

Been awhile since I messed with my s5 but if you search the att s5 forum for kit kat kernel should be able to find it . If that doesn't work try google . I switched mine back to stock marshmallow from x rom ( x rom turned into a better updated rom just can't remember the name) and that was a huge mistake I can barely use the phone now . When I find the name of the rom I'll update this post because it was an awesome rom and made the s5 usable. Aptos 2.4 is the rom you can use flash fire after you get it installed .
