Case/Screen protector Reccomendations - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note

So just got the Spigen Case and Screen Protector, both are awesome! Put the screen protector on as soon as I opened the box, not a single bubble/issue at all.....
So far so good, just thought I should pass this along!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00772FXZG/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i00 Spigen SGP08762 SGP Case Ultra Capsule
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007CP5EW0/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i00 SPIGEN SGP GLAS t. Premium Tempered Glass Series Screen Protector

Clemc.... I too odered the Spigen(sp?) screen protector. I messed the first one up so badly that I threw it away.... If they just made that thing a teeny bit smaller than the screen, it would go on alot easier..... I'm going to take the second (and last) protector to Best Buy this weekend... There's a guy there who is great at installing screen and full body protectors.
I ordered the OtterBox Commuter case.... It offers great protection, especially around the screen. Biggest downside is it makes the Note much heavier, and it's a pain to put on and remove.

I personally like my krusell white case with built in kickstand
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium

I was looking really hard at that one (krusell white case) before I decided on the Spigen case, it looked really sharp, and that kickstand seemed like such a good idea. Are you enjoying it illest?

I have the Trident Kraken Ams case with kickstand and detachable belt clip on mine. I love it. Its 3 pieces and built solidly. I'd recommend that to anyone. I

I have the seidio active combo, it doesn't add too much bulk.

Krusell is great feels slick on the hands, and kickstand is great for multimedia. It has very slight bulk on back since it is packing a well built kickstand. All and all very happy with my purchase

Otterbox Defender screen protector vs Just like Glass one?

I am wondering, is the otterbox the best screen protector for protection? It seems like it is, since it sits off the screen, and would be really hard to scratch, but is a DBA or Amzer, or one of the just like glass ones better? just wanted to see people's opinions,
Thanks,
Pretty much I want BEST drop/scratch protection!
I ordered a voyager 2 tempered glass screen protector. I HATED that built in screen protector and the plastic protectors don't work for me so well since I work and go to school in full fluorescent lighting. Should be here in a week.

I wouldn't dream of any other case than Otter Box. I've had one on each of my Notes and one on a work phone. Keeps phones in pristine condition.

Top bulky for me I'd rather break my phone on one drop than hide it that much. I use just like glad easy install, that is if You aren't bugged by a wet install. The only thing is it has a rainbow effect to it with the screen off only though so it's not that bad .

I use both the JLG and Defender protectors at the same time. No issues.
The main issue with the Defender is that the gap between the home button can allow dust/sand/grit to get under the protector and scratch it up. The JLG prevents that Also if I swap cases for whatever reason, the screen will still be protected.
I bought a 5 pack or regular ones off amazon and the work great. Had an otterbox but it seemed like the screen protector was super thick.

Otterbox commuter pics and thoughts

Figured id snap a few pics of the otterbox commuter since i didnt see any after searching. I really like the feel and looks of this case. It offers awesome protection but not much bulk. I had the defender but just really didnt like the design. I think otterbox did awesome with the commuter. Plus the screen protector is super clear and easy to apply.

Awesome, been waiting for someone to post info/pics first hand of this. I have the Incipio DualPro but have been considering switching to the Commuter. The grip on the DualPro is a bit slick and I hate how the top and bottom flap around too easily.
Hows the grip on the Commuter and do any of the edges flap around if you flick your finger over them, or are they held tight? Hows the travel on the back button covers feel? Is it just as easy to press the buttons?

All the buttons are easy to press. I know for a while otterbox was putting out cases with stiff buttons. The flaps all real tight and require some effort to open them which i think is good. This case dosent seem as slippery as my other commuters. My s3 was a pain to grip. 1 week use and no scratches on screen protector

Thanks for this post! Got a quick question though i have a zagg screen protector on its and I'm scared it will peel the protector off

I got this same case and one of the otterbox branded screen protectors *similar to an invisishield* and it's a perfect combination, when I had the Optimus G it was the only phone I ever had that I broke the screen and my g2 feels really solid with these on it
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I got one too, fitment is good, just a little too bulky for me to use everyday. ...so I use quick window for day to day, and otterbox for outdoor scenarios

Have this case and i love it! Keeps all my ports clean, nice fit in the hand, and lightweight.

How much bulk does the Commuter add to the G2 (compared to the Dualpro)? How about the lip around the screen?
It's at least half again as thick as the Dual Pro, from the last time I tried it, and the rim adds about 1/8" to the height of the screen. It makes the phone wider than the Spigen Slim Armor, which already adds 1/8" on each side and back.

Thanks for the input. Deciding between these two cases.

Could someone take a picture of the phone naked next to the case (commuter) so I get the idea of bulk that's added. Thanks!

[Q] case

what case are you guys using ?
I am using the samsung's official s-view case and I dropped my phone the other day and now i have a dent on the top and bottom outter corners on the metal frame since this case does not protect it well....
i am looking for suggestions for a thin case that covers the body and have s-view window...
any suggestions ?
Spigen bounce for me. Its thin and form fitting around all the corners. Only problem is 2 color choices, black and grey (light black).
Costs more than a generic tpu case but it looks and feels better.
I just ordered a spigen neo hybrid car from Amazon for 24$ (10 bucks cheaper than oem) it looks sick. I'll let you know how I like it on Monday. I got the yellow lined one

So I got my case yesterday. It's looks okay, not as good as I was hoping (I got the yellow banded one)
The aux port is obstructed by the thickness of the case. I have to remove the case to use in my car.
The buttons move in place, and are audible when moving the phone.
It makes the phone even slippier
Would not buy again

Any idea what case to get that will protect the screen from getting damaged????
It's fake metal around the edge..aka plastic. I have the neo hybrid but it adds a Lotta bulk. I got naked

Using the UAG Scout.. not as bulky as otterbox but great protection. On sale for about $30 right now on Amazon.

I could have told everyone about the spigen neo hybrid from my experience with their S4 case. It's one of the most overrated cases on the market, I'm not sure why people love it so much.
It looks and feels much cheaper in person than in pics and it makes the phone much bulkier and wider than it needs to be. And it's ridiculously overpriced for what it is.
Thumbs way down, I will never buy a spigen again.

If you want a fairly inexpensive no frills case, check out the one from Caseology. I got one for $3.50 on a deal from slickdeals and it's a great case with decent protection for the price. Even at the regular $8.50 price I would say it's well worth it.

Cool. What about screen protection??
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
I'm using an iSmooth screen protector. Application was the smoothest of any screen protector I've used so far - but I don't know how much of that is just practice applying them. The screen looks beautiful, with no rainbow patterns, and grease resistance is good (the Spigen ones I used before on my original note, I had a harder time of applying, and both Crystal and Oleophobic ones accumulated grease like nobody's business, particularly the supposedly oleophobic one, and the crystal had slight rainbow patterns visible in the right light).
As for cases, I'm not using one; I don't like the added bulk from them - I instead used Sugru to mold little bumpers directly on the corners of the phone. The corner around the S-Pen is kinda tricky, since there's what looks like a mic on the long side, and very little space between the pen and the speaker on the bottom. I used 3 little pieces of sugru around there. I also put a little bumper below the volume rocker, so I can quickly find the volume buttons when the phone is in my pocket. The sugru comes off cleanly (scrape it off with a fingernail). It lasts pretty well, but it will need to be redone at least once during a two year contract, more if the phone is handled roughly.
Thoughts on the S view case?
I think Im mostly concerned with the glass cracking than anything else...
Right now i am rocking the Incipio DualPro case and am waiting for a case from Cuzerlite to come in.
I got the Tudia Melody and it's perfect. 8 bucks to boot. It adds a nice grip to the phone and covers up the chrome lining on the front. You know the part that looks terrible even with a minor scuff? No screen protection except for the raised edges.

If you want protection and don't mind added bulk the Otterbox Defender is the only way to go. I personally have large hands and prefer the thickness and bulk the Defender adds. Plus you can throw it at a wall and it will not hurt the phone. The built in screen protector is hard plastic and will protect from most surface scratches. Of course direct impacts to the screen will almost always break it on large device like this and there is no case or protector that protects from direct impacts. So for screen protection you just have to take what you can get.
For me the Ottorbox has been the only way to go for my last five phones.
@Solarenemy68 while last year me would agree with you, I found another case company called trident with a similar design. There a bit cheaper too (price not quality!!) long story short, mine came today and it is amazing. Has a built in metal kickstand. (Had a bad experience with my last phone cuz of otterbox's customer service. So tried something new)

I had a trident case for my LG phone.. To be honest I did not like the finish or quality of the plastic. The plastic looked too military.

Which case?

Looking for a case that's:
1. Rugged (at least decent shock impact)
2. Somewhat slim
3. Not too pricey
So far I'm torn between:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00DJZZ9W2/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1396257921&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40
And

Anyone know which case or of another have the best combination of shock impact without being too thick?
Thanks.

I have the case from the first link you posted. I've had no problems whatsoever thus far. The belt clip is really secure and the silicon not only covers the phone but it serves as a border around the screen so if you drop it the screen won't even touch the floor really. The case is decent too. Definitely worth $13.

It's not bulky. You can trust the reviews on amazon for the case. It's worth it especially for the price.
I have the otterbox defender series. Due to the design of the case, There's a bubble in the screen protector. I simply poped it out and replaced it with a zagg screen protector. Search ebay, I only spent $30. Still waterproof and my 3 kids literally throw my phone across the room and it's still in brand new condition

I almost went with the iBlason, but ended up going to Unicorn Beetle route. It's a nice case and I really like it. It's a tough TPU throughout with a polycarbonate slab on the back. Looks pretty nice and feels good in the hand--quality materials. The only thing is you have to shave the little inner button nubs off with a razor blade as the Amazon reviews mention.
Good luck deciding.

I own both, as well as just about every other case made for our phone...
I hate the i-Blason, and have since I took it out of the package. Nothing really wrong with it, just not my taste. Inner portion is too mushy, hard to slip it in and out of my pocket, and I don't think anyone would call it "thin".
For "thin and rugged" you are far better off with the SUPCASE. Also look at the TUDIA Ultra Slim Melody.

which case should i get for my S7 Edge?

I have the Spigen Neo Hybrid and their Thin Fit case, the Neo Hybrid is definitely the best case that I have seen, just don't get it in the clear version since it yellows over time, especially with wireless charging use.
I have spent so much money on cases, I bought a Piel Frama's SlimFrama case, a Noreve case, couple of Spiegen cases, and none I enjoyed using. So now up using my S7E without a case.

Just bought the 1st one off ebay. Personally i have a thin case currently but it is diwsnt absorbs drips to well. Granted all the scratches are on fhe case n not my phone but cause of all tbe drops i had my screen swapped due to dead pixels.

I bought my dad the Spigen Tough Armor case and it really does not like screen protectors. It constantly pushes it out because of how tight it is to the case.
The other, I have not much clue but I think I would recommend the Ghostek 2.0 because it does offer screen protection as well as a layer of protection to the Home Button. The home button gets scratches, which is a faulty Samsung thing. :\

Agreed. It's the only case I've tried that helps with accidental touches of the edge display during typing. It's also the only case that has tall enough side bevels that actually protect the display (with no lost functionality). Most other cases for whatever reason keep them way too low for no reason other than questionable aesthetics.
I've got the neo hybrid from spigen and I'm happy with it. It works with their screen protectors and also the BSE case fit screen protector skin.
Samsung clear cover the one that covers the back only not the flip scratch case

I got the tough armor a few days ago an its perfect. Feels great while holding and goves better grip. The neo seems slimmer but if u want good protection for accidental drops and a kickstand i recommend it.
Note the kickstand seems a bick thin and might brake easily i think but i do with out it if it ever does.
Spigen Thin Fit = the sexiest, lowest protection
Incipio & caseology = decent protection , medium bulk
UAG = max protection , max bulk & thick as a brick
Check here
I really recommend the PureGear Dualtek Pro. It's a great, safe and beautiful case.
ewww
For me it's like a crime to smash that ugly case to a such beautiful device, but if I would buy a case, it would buy just something thin so it's barely visible on the phone but protects it a bit at the same time.
Just my opinion though.
I got the Speck Dark Case for the Onyx s7 edge. Looks fantastic.
