- Choose Root_SuperSU.0.96.Only-signed.zip
- Press Power button.
- Flashing begin.
Once done
- Navigate to ../ and press Power button
- navigate again to ../ and press power button
- and reboot system now
Your device will be rebooted and enjoy your rooted ICS. No cwm recovery

Hello,
Does this mean that the stock recovery is not checking the zip's file signature (big security flaw)? or that you got the Samsung private key to sign that file?

As indicated at OP. This not my work.
Feel free to ask the original poster > [email protected] Thread < for more detail of the signature.

There is no need to flash a modified SuperSU package - Chainfire's original unmodified release will work just fine.
The reason is that for some reason, some Samsung stock recoveries allow flashing of ZIPs signed with testkeys. Nearly all ICS recoveries for Exynos 4210 devices supported this, and I think (but I'm not sure), garyd9's original CWM implementation for the Tab 7 Plus used this approach for installation, so it sounds like Tab 7 Plus/7.7 HC recoveries also allowed testkeys-signed packages.
ICS for the Note 10.1 does NOT permit testkeys-signed packages, same for I9300 to my knowledge.

It's not working in Tab2 p3100 ICS 4.0.4 . Signature verification failed it's the message.Cheers.

im assuming this has no chance of working for the galaxy player 4.2 with gingerbread on it will it?

If it failed it will abort.

Yeah, it's pretty low-risk. Either it works, or it aborts and does nothing. I9100 and I777 ICS will also allow it.

So, let's begin. Follow instructions below to install latest cwm recovery in your galaxy mini handset.
Make sure you have got Gingerbread OS on your galaxy mini : Upgrade to GB if you don't have.
Download Odin Multidownloader v4.38 for GTS5570, Tass_v1.ops and latest Clockwork Mod Recovery if you do not have them already. You can download them from here.
Run Odin Multi downloader v4.38 and select the Tass_v1.ops by clicking OPS button.
Select One Package Option and Click One Package button and select the recovery file name (CWM-5.0.2.8-Touch2-yagya.tar.md5) file you downloaded.

When you are done reboot your phone in download mode (Press Volume Down + Home + Power button to go to download mode)
Connect your phone in download mode to your computer via USB Cable.
When Odin detects your phone (If you see a com port number written in yellow background at the top left, then your phone is detected. View image.), click Start button.
Wait till Odin finishes the job (approx. 3-5 minutes) and when it reports ‘PASS’, you can disconnect your phone.
That's all. You have flashed latest CWM recovery on your device.

Because you are using stock rom. You need custom roms like CM7 for this to work properly. You can get one at http://yagyagaire.blogspot.com and then try again. It will work nicely.
I got an error:
"cannot open the usb serial port. code: 2"
what should I do? Disconnect the phone or wait?
Thank you all.
You will need to close Samsung Kies if you have it installed otherwise install USB drivers from Samsung and try again.
Thanks for your help yagya.
I have rebooted the PC, reconnected the phone and everything worked out perfectly. Now I have CWM installed and running .
Just one question, if I reflash stock ROM on the device trough Kies, will it get rid of CWM or will I still have it?

[REF][GUIDE]Another Way to Successfully Flash AOSP/AOKP/CM9 ICS Roms from Gingerbread

Until now we all had to use LP1 Repack as a stepping-stone between Gingerbread and custom ICS Roms.
However, thanks to thechints, we have found an easier way to get to a fully rooted AOSP/AOKP/CM ICS from Gingerbread.
The following procedure was tested by thechints, vviz, abhisahara, and moi, and it works.
It was tested on Stunner and CM9, but could work for any ICS Rom that currently has "flash LP1 Repack" as one of the steps in its flashing instructions.
I emphasize the word 'could'. Give it a try and tell us what happened. The suggested method is safe insofar as it won't brick your device. You have a safe way back to GB via nAndroid backup or PC Odin if it fails.
The only tool that you need for the following procedure to work is AbyssNote 4.2 Kernel --> props to angelom and Chris X.
Get AbyssNote 4.2 kernel HERE.
Do not use earlier AbyssNote Kernel versions for the following procedure.
So, how to do it?
When on any rooted GB Rom:
First and foremost
Double- and triple-check if you have proper GB root!
Do not put faith in the fact that your Titanium Backup or some other root app works.
Do not use various root checkers from the Market.
Do that by trying to paste a file in /system folder -that's the only way for you to really know.
If you can do the pasting, you have root. If not, this thread is not for you.
I got several PMs from users who managed to achieve soft-bricks while still on GB. They tried to
flash AbyssNote kernel and got stuck. Do not let that happen to you.
After that:
1. download AbyssNote 4.2 kernel and place it on your internal/external SD Card
Also download the ICS Rom you want to install and put it on your SD card.
2. reboot to CWMR (press and hold volume up + home + power button) and do a backup of your current system
3. after your backup is done, stay in Recovery
4. go to install a zip from SD card --> select AbyssNote 4.2 zip and flash it
5. go back to CWMR's root menu --> advanced --> reboot recovery
6. you'll find yourself in AbyssNote's Touch Recovery (select options by tapping them, not by using the volume rocker and home button)
7. factory reset --> wipe cache --> wipe dalvik
9. flash the ICS Rom of your choice
10. reboot and let the Rom settle for a couple of minutes
Now comes the important part...check if you have root.
Start any Explorer with root permissions (Root Explorer, Es Explorer, X Explorer etc.).
Copy any file (a picture, txt file, MP3, whatever).
Navigate to /system folder
Change the /system folder's permissions to R/W.
Paste the file you have copied into /system.
If the pasting goes through OK, you're fully rooted.
Delete the file you've just pasted and set /system as R/O again
And that's it. Enjoy your rooted ICS Rom.
Once again, massive thanks to thechints, abhisahara, vviz and ubiquitous Dr. Ketan.
What to do if this procedure doesn't work, i.e. you don't get full ICS root
As we all know, our Notes are quirky devices. What works for most doesn't necessarily have to
work for your phone. So, if you fail to get full root:
Option 1. You will still have 90% functional ICS on your Note. Your phone will do all the usual stuff
normally. You'll probably even be able to use root apps, like Titanium. However, bear in mind that
you are stuck in the Rom you have just flashed - there is no going anywhere because your CWMR
doesn't have proper root privileges to flash things - DO NOT USE CWMR.
What you won't be able to do on your Note is
- apply themes and mods (because that involves flashing stuff through CWMR with no proper root)
- change DPI settings on your Note (you won't be able to switch to tablet mode, for instance)
Everything else should work properly. If you can live with that for a couple of weeks until the
official ICS arrives, then fine. Relax and enjoy your Rom.
Option 2. If you can't stand the thought that you don't have full root permissions then
- you can try to reboot to CWMR, flash AbyssNote 4.2 again, and try to run a GB restore.
This doesn't have high chances of success, but all is not lost even if it fails. Then
- you can use PC Odin to flash pre-rooted KJ1 stock Rom as explained by Dr. Ketan.
dr.ketan said:
When No Any other method works to Root your device, use this[/B]

If Neo's kernel root sticks properly, one should be able to flash an ICS Rom straight from GB, just like you would flash a GB rom from another GB rom. No need for Abyss, Repack etc.

Meaning any custom & rooted ics rom will not cause any bootloop..etc when do this directly with CF Repack. I have heard some users mentioning in other threads that bootloop will be there is no CF repack LP1 before flashing any ICS roms.......

No bootloops with this procedure.

If Neo's kernel root sticks properly, one should be able to flash an ICS Rom straight from GB, just like you would flash a GB rom from another GB rom. No need for Abyss, Repack etc.

Might be true but I honestly doubt that, as the key factor here is the recovery which I don't think Neo would use, I think he will use CWM Recovery but we shall see..

THIS DID NOT EVEN WORK. Stopped half way like the other guy said...
This is excellent to see progress being made for easy rooting for the gTab3. One thing I would mention in op though is that current testing on the T210R has resulted in soft bricks as well as really risking a full brick as the install is crashing midway through.
I would strongly advise anyone with a T210R use the current rooting methods as they are safe.
Safely root your gTab3 SM-T210 & SM-T210R
I also recommend Unofficial CWM Adv. Edition PhilZ Touch - Recovery for T210R & T210
I'm not trying to derail any development at all in any way, just posting a word of caution for fellow flashaholics.
