Hi i just found incrediple offer! Its ProCaster android pad 7" it costs 199€ and it has cortex a8 1.2ghz prosessor, android 2.3 and coming updade 3.0, RAM 512mb, 7" 800x400 tft lcd screen, wi-fi, gyro sensor, built in 2mp camera and microphone, 4gb memory (up to 32gb with sdcard) and also some super sick features!!! Should i buy it? Ofc i should :-D it has 1 year warranty. Does anyone has this tab?

I just pre-ordered the Amazon Fire, but the truth is that it appears to offer few advantages over the rooted NC.
I am curious how other NC users feel.
No Mic and no mention of BT or Battery true size (mAH).
If I hadn't already owned a NC then I would wait for this before making the choice. But since I have a NC already, this doesn't excite me too much.
I am on the fence right now...will wait and see what the reviews say before I buy...the only advantages I see is the Amazon services connection and the dual core CPU...besides that the nook has it all! the IPS screen, its thinner and has the micro SD port that I love to load up with my own movies....I really wanted a 7" IPS with 8+ battery life, bluetooth and a front facing cam for those rate Skipe occasions

otherwise, I'm happy with NC+CM7, don't use tablet for movies so the weak processor on NC doesn't bother me much.
I was really hoping for a fixed price 3G model. For that I would have paid an extra $100. Without it, the Amazon Fire is just a NC wannabe. Who knows how long it will take to get it rooted to access the entire Android Marketplace.
No mic, no camera, no gps, no bluetooh.
And with $199, it will be a bust.
If any only if Kindle Fire reaches the state at where the NC is right now with development, then I'd move.
Having said that, another criteria for me is that LG must be the manufacturer of the IPS display, otherwise, I won't bother. =)

No way, but then I wouldn't buy a Nook Color at this point either. It was a great deal 10 months ago, but such is progress. NC2 is going to be announced next month and the Lenovo A1 has all the stuff they're both missing for the same price. This is a definite pass as the only selling point is the dual core processor but I'd rather have the GPS, BT, microSD and cameras on the A1 for $199.

Also no mention of removable SD anywhere I could find, so you are stuck with only 8GB for anything not on Amazons cloud.
Also still no epub under supported formats.

What it won't have, though, is the number of physical inputs. It'll make do with just a power button and nothing more -- if you want to turn down the volume you'll need to dive into the status bar. Software performance seems quite smart at this point, switching tasks and apps in rapid fire during the demo we were given. We were only shown a brief glimpse of the new Silk browser, but we must say the thing appears to deliver on its promises. The dual-core 1GHz, TI OMAP processor certainly seems adequate, too, even if it is only paired with 512MB of memory. It also has 8GB of storage on tap -- a bit light these days, but with all your content synced online, in theory there's no need for more. In theory.

Its really too new to tell. I like to tinker, but without buttons and SD slot or even some sort of USB port, this Amazon Fire will be a bit more difficult to root.

I use my NC for movies all the time. Netflix as well. Processor is not a problem for me. I'd wait and see what B&N rolls out next month before I made a decision on a new purchase. Also, you can get a NC refurb for $160. Bet their pricing goes down even more soon.
I think the Lenovo A1 is the best buy in a 7" tablet right now.
Nope. Dual core processor sounds nice but I see no other benefits. No SD slot and no CM7. What would be the point?

The 4.3" of the A1 makes that device a non-compete in the tablet market.

A1 uses regular TN instead of IPS...but yes, its cheap, there is a 2GB version exclusive for Chinese market for about 1000RMB(~160 USD)

Personally I would go with the Samsung device. A biased opinion because I own one myself but development for motorola is lower than my standards and I personally don't like their devices. There is a lot of Android development for the galaxy s 2 though.

How much the SGS2 costs in your country? don't you tthink that is a bit expensive $594 dollards with 18 months contract of $50 dollards per month of service?
Motorola has poor support. From hoe they are handling the atrix, they area horrible company. Expect the atrix 2 to have lost support in the next 6 months.
Go with the sgs 2, webtop or not, webtop is still laggy. Sgs 2 is the smoothest android device out.

In my country it's $550 for the sgs2 I also pay $80 for my monthly bill.

I'd go for the SGS II, here it's around $700 - $750, without any data plans or some of that stuff.
I love my NC. My son does too, but he wants to get a full sized tablet. His budget is $300. Anyone have some experience with some of the older tablets that you can purchase refurbished in this range? Any help would be great.

Well, you said full-size. There is the (discontinued) TouchPad, which is 10" or so, and you can get those pretty cheap.
They run CM9 pretty well, I have to say. (full disclosure: I helped port it). My big issue with the touchpad is I'm not a fan of the size, and it's a little thick/heavy.
If by full size, you mean a 10.1" tablet, then your options are very limited. The really good 10inch tablets start at about $350 (the 16GB Asus TF300 can be had for a twenty bucks more than that).
Alternatively, if you're not looking for something cutting edge, then there are plenty of refurbished last-year models going around for less than $300. Acer is selling refurbished A500 units for as little as $229 on its eBay store, and if you keep an eye open on sites like techbargains.com for similar deals that come and go.
(Refurbished might be a bit of a gamble, but it's paid off handsomely for me in the past -- bought my Nook Color that way too. Buying direct from the manufacturer helps though. Just make sure they really are refurbished and not "pre-owned".)
Finally (at the risk of raising the ire of the Android gods, you can also get a refurbished iPad 2 for $319 from Apple, which isn't a bad price either.
But if you could stretch a little beyond $300, and want something new, then I think the Asus TF300 is probably your best bet at the moment. There might be some downward pressure on 10-inch prices with the introduction of the HD models (the Acer A700 is only $450, which is the same price as the lower-def A510, so that has to drop) but I haven't seen anything yet.
I would definitely go with the Nexus 7. I planned on selling my Nook and HP Touchpad to get one.
Nexus 7 would be stunning if Google included a mSD slot. Looks gr8 as is, not stunning though.
Which one would you prefer, the nexus 7 or a galaxy tab plus 16gb wifi only? The last ones are at $237.90 refurbished at amazon. The GT+ will receive a software upgrade, so the only differences will be the ir blaster, back camera, sd slot, screen resolution, NFC (don't know what it is ) and the chipset. Which one would you prefer?

quad core Tegra 3 processor, 12 core GPU, NFC (wireless data transfer that is more secure than bluetooth) and a whole bunch more goodies...
plus it comes with 4.1 installed...
all at a low low price of $199...

Several sources say Google doesn't take any margin on the product, so you are basically paying the manufacturer price for the Nexus 7 (and any required warranty by law). There won't be anyone beating that for a while.
Oh, and it weighs the same as the Nook Color/Tablet
The only bummer I see is that adobe flash won't be officially supported (if I didn't misunderstood), but since the N7 may be the next developers tab I think it will be somehow updated by devs.
The lack of sd slot almost made me not to be interested on it but when I reviewed the GT+ vs Transformer Prime reviews and benchmarks I got convinced, the Prime is just to fast. If I get the N7 I will buy the 16gb version, 8gb it's just to little (like the Nook Color's memory).

it seems more logical to compare the Nexus 7 with this other 7" tablet rather than with the 9" one.
The A2107 in Hong-Kong is today at 3/4 price of A2109.
It should make the 16 GB version at about $225 in USA while the Nexus 7 is $249 .

I got the baby - the Lenovo A2107 - in my hands at the moment... It's quite a nice piece of hardware... Quite responsive, web browsing with the stock browser is fine, videos are played correctly...
The slate fits quite nicely in the hands... The size is quite close from my GTab 7", just a bit slimmer.
The display is good, good enough to read a pdf on the go (I don't really like tabs to read ebooks for a long time). I haven't seen the Nexus yet, but I feel that, with proper resellers, it could find its way to a number of homes...
I'd easily get used to it... Too bad it's not mine...
Considering my screen decided to crack without me throwing it against the wall or dropping it or anything like that, I'm looking at alternatives to the Nexus 7 now since I'm not sure ASUS will own up to their obvious design flaw that caused the issue. The only thing that catches my eye is the processor. Is it a dual core or quad core? I'm having trouble finding definitive references to it online. I'd assume at that price it'd be a dual, but who knows... and the resolution is a little :/ but other than that the rest of it is enticing.

Otherwise, features and specs are lackluster, with MediaTek MTK6575 SoC and 1024x600 TN LCD, and aren't competitive with the Nexus 7.

The processor is maybe not the one of the Nexus 7 but the same we find in the Samsung Galaxy Note and all reviews said this phone/tablet was really responsive.
The screen is maybe not the excellent one of the Nexus 7 but is a good one. Not every one is fan of these high resolutions. For me it's mean I having to zoom most of the time on Nexus 7 to be able to read...
Final point is that the 3G Nexus 7 will be probably 40% or $100 more expensive that this model and will still not have microSD.
Not such a bad choice.
After hearing about these Lenovo tablets and having my Nexus 7 screen randomly crack without dropping I decided to look further into a Nexus 7 replacement. Here are the two ultimate bummers I've found about these Lenovo tablets.
2107 = dual core, not quad core
2109 = quad core, but TN panel
Maybe I'm just severely spoiled, but really? A TN panel in a brand new 2012 tablet?

The 2107 has a single core MediaTek 1GHz CPU. The Galaxy Note has a 1.4GHz dual core Exynos. I don't know how crappy the MediaTek is (never even heard of it before) but my gut tells me there is a world of difference between that 1GHz single core and the 1.4GHz dual core SoCs.

When we complain about the Nexus 7 screen, it's usually in relation to other high end IPS displays. However even with is substandard color quality, the Nexus 7 IPS display at 1280x800 is going to be a LOT better looking than a TN 1024x600 display.
And you have it backwards. Higher resolution displays mean you don't have to zoom in more to read. Lower resolution means the text is less clear forcing you to do the zooming more often.

It may not be a bad deal if you have to have 3G on your tablet for $230 (or something). This is going to be a small number of people. Most could probably just tether with a phone and save money on the extra data plan.
But this is a pretty low end tablet and not even in the same ballpark as a Nexus 7. I can't imagine why anyone would want this, except for the possible need for 3G on a very cheap tablet.

From what I was able to dig up, the 2107 isn't even dual core, it's a single core. And a TN panel on a tablet is an instant deal breaker.

The ten panel isn't as bad as you think. Still 170 ppi and decent colors. Just the viewing angles is all. Which isn't as bad since its not like you'll be frequently looking at it from an angle. Plus your friends won't be able to see what you're doing, which can be good lol

Have you tried the rear camera? Is it Autofocus? I'm looking to get one and use if for detailed fairly close-up shots. I just got a Galaxy Tab 2; the camera is fixed focus and not good at all for anything close up. Also, the Tab 2 does not allow programs/aps on the miniSD card. How about the speakers and the battery so far? thanks!
